Maybe a hot take but I genuinely prefer the newer MAA to the older Perry sculpts. The Perry brothers did some fine work but the Bret MAA done by them came off as extremely generic historical sculpts lacking any sort of real character or warhammer flair. The newer MAA rectified this with loads of character.

Damn. I have a set I bought off ebay so I don't have the original packaging, and I just got through rubbing their lances with sanding sticks. I was hoping they'd been released in 1997.
Assuming they were cast in Baltimore they would be lead-free (GW minis sold in the US were lead-free in '93 iirc), but it's not rare to get European minis on ebay.
Is there ANY way to tell if it's the lead or lead-free alloy? I'm not particularly worried as I think any metal dust was heavy enough not to drift towards my face, but I'd still prefer to minimize my lead exposure.

Is there any way to tell if a mini is lead-based or not? It's very obvious with the pre-slotta stuff but I'm not sure if the post-slotta lead minis look any different from the white metal minis.

Not that I know of, but I haven't really looked into it either. There may be. The safest thing to do would just be to treat it as lead with all the precautions and maybe it's lead free. Handle them safely moving forward. Once they get painted and varnished it won't be a problem anyways.

They are unfortunately mostly covered in grey primer, but here is some of what was exposed when I was filing. I don't think it's enough for a visual identification.
They're definitely heavier than my damsel, but there seems to be a lot more material on them so I'm not sure that's conclusive. I am looking for the MTO foot knights from a while back as those should be similar in size, but I don't remember where I put them.

So on a whim I gave this idea that I came up with for fanfiction AI to tame myself and put it into an image make a thing and it gave me the following two images and wants me to pick which one is better so I can get better I'll post a second image next please help me pick which one's better.

Our siege weapon is a really big blind guy who throws rocks. Of course we aren't good at taking out cities. The scale the game is played at normally is practically perfect for them as a matter of play, but in lore that's basically how big their entire force is per herd. Its only a couple beastlords that gather other lords under them that get close to having a real army.

I'm a complete beginner at assembling models. Do you need any specific tools for working with metal and resin as opposed to plastic? How about paints?

This chaos guy from like 1987ish still feels like the great common ancestor of a whole load of later chaos designs in both fantasy and 40k. Feels like you could easily re-release them today and besides the somewhat goofy proportions it would still slot perfectly into almost any chaos army.

My favourite example of this were the Merovingians who claimed for reasons forgotten to history to be descended from some sort of aquatic bull monster with 5 horns violently raping a fair maiden. From what I understand this was probably riffing on some old Gallic legends but nobody has any idea what exactly they were thinking when making that claim.

Also notable you have the very contentious history of the Plantagenets being the spawn of some Tourain knight and the succubus Mélusine. As cool as it sounds it's sadly fake history cobbled together by Edwardian romantics though. The only contemporary source for it is some incel monk søyraging about one of the Richards passing him over for a bishop position and writing a demented pamphlet about how the royal house were all in league with satan.

Still I think a descendant of a line of brash and temperamental knights doomed to perdition because one of their ancestors was so stupid he "accidentally" got with a Khornate valkyrie of some sort would be a pretty kino concept for a Lyonesse knight I think. Could definitely see that being a good WFRP PC.

IMHO Miller is kinda underrated by a lot of people on here. Blanche and Kopinski are cool if you want generic fantasy soup, but it's really Miller that set the tone for early WFRP and consequently the whole Empire aesthetic. You need that Dürer x Victorian gothic horror spice that really covers warhammer with this foreboding feel of being an hour away from the nearest city gate while the sun is already creasting the hills in the west on a wet September afternoon. When everything looks normal on the surface of it, but the shadows are quickly lengthening and you keep picking up pace while trying not to look at the shadowy patches for too long, fearing that there might be something that ends up looking back.
