However, I'm not sure if I should stick with the faction I have (Guard) since the way my army is set up doesn't really work in this edition. It's primarily composed of hordes of battleline infantry, numerous weapon teams, and a few tanks. Problem is apparently sub-factions are no longer just aesthetic (all my stuff is Catachan) and you can't put heavy weapons in units anymore. So I'm considering jumping ship to either CSM or GSC to make use of at least some of the models I already have.

I suggest putting a very noticeable dot or flashy color that stands out on the most armored or easily mobile part of your character's armor. That way enemies looking will inevitably first pay attention to that area and shoot where you have the best chance tanking or moving out the way. Some real life riot shields do this.

I liked Admech until I realized how expensive they were. So I didn't start a bunch of totally new armies, except chaos and drk eldar.So it's mostly just build out the soups I already had. Haven't gotten many orks though.All of this has been since 2022, I would estimate about 1200 bucks a year spent on hams of war. Not prideful of this, and my spending was more restricted in 2023 compared to 2024 when I spented too much.
