Vampires also tend to feed in the guise of some other activity (sex, a violent robbery, etc) or do it to mortals who are sleeping or, for fun times, high on mind-altering narcotics.

If you're walking down an alley at night, suddenly feel really good, then go light-headed and/or faint, you're not gonna know what happened. I wasn't under the impression it was a magical brain fog that came over people bitten. Not to mention it's a way to quickly move on from feeding for vampires that lack dominate 1, since VtM games already run the risk of falling into a quagmire of logistics and little details.

Making the Jimmy Heart version of either face of Voerman or both at once is pretty easy and the basic outline can be used for a PC without much explaination. Grout can't. His real charm as a character is wrapped up in how we don't meet him and the strange way we get insight into him, which means that you're not really getting him as a PC in most cases and as an NPC it requires a lot work, confidence in your acting and descriptive chops, and getting the PC buy-in.

Last HtV game I was in we were recruiting new Hunters frequently, and they were useful without gumming up every combat encounter with a bunch of extra characters. Getting a sheriff's deputy into the cell was a godsend, because we could operate far more safely, since he'd make sure that we didn't find our way into the law's sights. We started with five PC Hunters, by the end of the Chronicle we had a total cell size of nine, almost doubled in size in a Chronicle that went for like... four months?Besides which, being a smooth talker has applications in investigation (people are more willing to open up, you can frame things in a way that makes you sound less crazy, reducing panic from normies) and other aspects of the hunt. The crazed gunman Hunter is a losing strategy. Long-term victory requires logistics.

>>98042544Well they're in different core systems, so direct 1-1 comparisons are difficult if not impossible. To answer your question, no, Uratha have a single "Supernatural Potency" trait like most nWoD/CofD supernaturals, Primal Urge. Goes from 1-10, determines things like essence (their supernatural resource), essence per turn, and attribute caps. They still have Gifts, though they're organized differently. Again 1-1 is hard, but generally the Uratha template is less "blendy". More effort was put into giving each of the five forms a more defined niche, and to facilitate this, there's no need to roll to change forms. With good Harmony (their morality equivalent stat), you can shift with incredible ease, not even using an action, and there's a fighting style that leans into this. The hybrid/war form is less of a default for serious fights, and more of a heavy weapon you bring out when necessary, as spending too much time in it can cause you to go absolutely apeshit. The upside is without silver, you're next to impossible to put down in this form, full healing all non-agg damage every turn. A while ago some anons did the math, and you'd need to hit them with a semi truck to do decent, lasting damage with a single, non agg (rarer in CofD) attack.
