Possibly, as that's considered a health issue, generally. But also suffocating I would classify as a health issue, and you need the totem of clean air to not suffocate. Just how much malnutrition can the cookie mitigate? Considering that the food is not considered in the 'essential' section, I could see an argument saying that you don't need it to survive. Then again, the author chose to put clothes in the essential section, and I'm definitely naked from day 1, that is a Basina problem.

You can only do what you do. Spells are powerful but they can be slow to cast and hard to get off, and moving while spellcasting is seen as a not easy thing (explodes in your face if you fail) to do.
