Them being a hodgepodge of different legions is where the similarities end desu, but if that’s the only reason you like deathwatch, then black legion is perfect for you (unless you just make your own melting pot warband, so you don’t have to paint another black armored space marine army and you can make their lore closer to deathwatch).

The fuck are you talking about? The new Iron Warrior book shows how the Black Legion recruits. Champions and entire warbands have to fight their way through a gauntlet of daemon worlds. They must resist the temptations of the Chaos Gods and destroy their daemonic champions. Once they reach the finish line, they have to swear complete loyalty to Abaddon and the Long War.

????
>put a gun in his hand and said "execute every child here as a show of power". and if you think the Tau wouldnt do that, you dont know the Tau.
The exact scenario forms the story of the Tau campaign in Gladius.
A fourth sphere ethereal told the Tau forces to wipe out the humans and the auxiliaries. The Tau chief commander told the Ethereal to fuck off and staged a rebellion against him that split half the Tau forces into civil war.
The same storyline is repeated in other fourth sphere lore. An ethereal giving orders to do bad stuff will be met with resistence.

>They seem to be made up of volunteers from other legions. I'm moving over to CSM from Deathwatch so I was looking for something similar.
>>98056136
Red Corsairs are lorefully supposed to be the Deathwatch of chaos.

Black Legiom is like a reverse ultramarines, where most chapters are ultramarine seed while the BL absorbs random warbands who got tired of their parent legion screwing around on rape planet or angry plant or whatever.
>>
>>98056075
You can do your own custom chapter, it's a big draw but not everyone wants to. Some just fall in love with specific chapters or legions. That's when people just make custom units and steal named character's stats (like Cypher).

Indeed, it is. Also, the 10th ED CSM codex, which features 4-5 Black Legion characters spread across the book, each with a general theme of not caring about Chaos and being loyal to Abaddon above all.
Even the Black Legion Dark Apostle in the codex is said to be more loyal to Abaddon than Chaos.

It’s lame that you have a Chaos faction that’s TOTALLY not into Chaos guys. It just seems like a cop out. >>
>>98056285
None of these guys were loyal to the Chaos Gods.
And for fuck sake, there isa w hole novel called "FALL OF CADIA" by Robort Rath that shows the story of the character you are referring to. Abaddon knew that he was compromised and was sabotaging the invasion of Cadia, so he got rid of him and replaced the master of the hounds with someone loyal.

Took a crack at the cool one. Most armies are overall cool, with some not my style.
But for some:

>GSC has cool models but the play-to-lose faction goal puts me off even though the idea of a death cult is still nifty
>BTs feel like GW trying to sell Sisters to the Marine paypiggies. I'd rather just collect Sisters.

>>
>>98056338
I like them, and have some models, but on the whole for 11e they aren't the coolest since they don't have access to big trakks and grot tanks. Plust I don't like the squig wrangler subrange.
>But legends should count
If I counted those then Space Marines, Drukhari, Tau and Necrons would be also be higher.

>>98056349
Yes.

>>98056354
I like the Berserkers but don't like Jackals or the Eightbound. Also Lord of Skulls can be taken in CSM. So it has elements I really like but is sandbagged hard.
Marines are positive because some of the models are fine and the rest mediocre.
Knights look cool. It's just that playing against them sucks and is generally not that engaging.
Death Guard are cool, though you need to bash them to be more decayed or fungal then whatever weird horn/mouth shit the current range has.
CSM (broadly) is just the coolest though, aside from Hellbrutes and the old bikers. Also Night lords are probably the most reddit space marine subfaction out of the entire franchise.

Compare them to the Imperial Guard though. If IG are normal and space marines are also normal, then what the fuck? Come on, I get you guys like to pretend Astartes are nothing special because GW schills Ultramarines 24/7, but in the lore they ARE special. Not everything in 40k is built for war, your average guardsman certainly isn't, space marines ARE. They are psycho-indoctrinated to think in terms of tactics and strategy to the point of autism.

The real question is if they learn Sludge Bomb because of their betcher's gland.

Hello I need help, there is a tournament in my local game store, where I used to play YGO, and there will be a Warhammer tournament, friends and all are coming and I'd love to play with them.
But I have absolutely no idea what to do. So I decided on Dark Angels. The tournament has 1.000 points.
I have been paying attention here and there when I have free time and noticed sometimes rather than shove your ''deck'' with a ton of powerful units, using allotted points for weaker nimble ones to grab objectives could be better. But I'm an overall noob in this game that keeps missing opportunities to use skills and fail at strategizing.

So do you guys have any recommendations for building a 1.000 Dark Angels deck? As well as stuff to do or do not while playing? The tournament is in 8 days but I have to pick my choices way sooner for the printing process.
>>
>>98056578
>don’t have anything that makes them super special
You do know they have two hearts, three lungs, subdermal carapace armour, toxic saliva glands, etc. Right? Is that normal? Do you have those organs? Does every faction have those superhuman implants?
>>
>>98056591
having some sort of objective holder is good, but also 1k point games can be a bit skew.
Is there a tournement pack for the missions you'll be playing, and is there any restrictions?
>>
>>98056594
>Right? Is that normal?
by 40k standards yes
>>
>>98056591
start with a combi lieutenant, you plant him in your expansion (the objective in no man's land that closest to you) and have him hold the fort and do actions
generally you have three types of units, action monkeys, objective holders and target elimination, always keep one or two objective monkeys in reserves to Deep strike and do actions, scouts do this well in marines, some objective holders who charge into a point and are hard to dislocate, and some target elimination to deal with tough threats. Most marine lists play by placing as little as possible in enemy vision to still contest objectives and kill the enemy, so you end up sending waves to NML and winning by attrition. Obviously this changes depending on detachment, some want to charge turn one so the enemy never gets to leave their deployment, some go for a single big push to delete you, etc. As already mentioned, in 1000 point games, it's hard to get a good take all comers list so tanks and termies can win easily if the enemy doesn't have a good response.
>>
>>98056594

Lets say I wanna build Outlander Claw GSC as my next army for 11th Edition. Would a combination of the 9th edition and 10th edition Combat Patrols + another set of Jackals be a solid starting point at 1k points? It'd look something like this
>Magus
>Jackal Alphus
>20 Neophyte Hybrids
>10 Acolyte Hybrids w/ Flamers (2 squads of 5)
>5 Acolyte Hybrids w/ Autopistols
>5 Aberrants
>10 Atalan Jackals
>1 Ridgerunner
>1 Goliath Rockgrinder
Altogether it's a little under 1k with just the extra Atalan Jackals. Only change I'd make outside of that is maybe take the Aberrants out for another Jackal Alphus + 5 Jackals.

I have pic rel and I'm getting ready to glue and paint it but it made me think - if the styx and despoiler (I enjoy carriers) are post-heresy Imperial designs then what did Chaos ships in the heresy actually look like? Do Chaos marine ships look like battle barges? I know Typhon's ship at least looks like the Despoiler class with the insinuation that the design is the same, does it make sense then that I could run with my Styx being a Heresy era Night Lord vessel along the same argument of a shared development history? Chaos Grand Cruisers are the closest in appearance to the Vengeful Spirit, are they all Heresy designs? I'm probably overthinking this but I am a big fan of Battlefleet Gothic and want to have my own Night Lord fleet to go with my main models.

Heresy era ships looked pretty much like M41 era ships. Some Chaos ship designs are post-Heresy and some Imperial ships designs are pre-Imperial. For BFG they just split the difference (with a few exceptions) for thematic reasons. Like why all CSM are sporting Anvillus pattern backpacks, rather than a mix.

In BFG, Chaos fleets lack a good source of carriers and torpedo ships. I think the idea is that early Imperial ships were more like ships of the line, relying on tons of guns, while later they began to implement carriers and torpedoes (various Imperial carriers are mentioned as being modifications of existing hulls). I guess you could always just make a ship of your own design and pretend it's a pre-existing design from the Heresy or just a modified hull of another ship design. Like how the Jovian class began life as a one-off carrier modification of the Mars class and later became a class of its own.
>insinuation
It's outright stated that they recovered the blueprints for the Terminus Est and made the Despoiler based on those.

Man, digging through old BFG PDFs does bring up interesting stuff. Like how Vengeful Spirit was just a battle barge, based on a design similar to the Despoiler class, rather than a unique Gloriana class hyper battleship. Similarly Endurance didn't exist and Terminus Est was the DG flagship. WE Conqueror seems to be the only flagship next to Vengeful Spirit that kept their name into modern HH fluff.

I really like that design for Chaos battle barges compared to the blockier Imperial concept. I think I will run with that lore when imaging heresy era ships whilst having the styx align more with its bfg story. The Despoiler and Retaliator will be the mainline, the lance and carrier combo really is my favourite. Do you have any more interesting BFG content?

Space Marine battle barges and strike cruisers come in a great variety of styles and designs. Especially in the case of battle barges the ship can be any sort of large ship design the Imperium has ever fielded. It does seem the "blocky" design is post-Heresy, modifying the vessel to serve more of a carrier and orbital support craft over a traditional cruiser. I think it was the Nova frigate's fluff that mentions it being made specifically to fight other ships and the Navy got mad that the Marines weren't sticking to their lane. But, like always, Marines ignored them and kept making the ships for their fleets.

>are plasma and power weapons now common again in the imperium thanks to Cawl?
Don't know how plasma and power weapons were ever rare, considering civilians could get their hands on them and Guard regiments could specialize in plasma weapons. Plasma warheads are like the standard big warhead on various WMDs and plasma reactors provide power across the Imperium.

IIRC it was labeled as "gyroscopic stabilizer" or somesuch on Jes's initial primaris sketches.
>>
>>98057260
This is one of the annoying things about primaris design I was thinking about recently. Not specifically the "cawl cylinder" but just the fact that they are so obsessed with re-using pieces of design language in general, it almost comes off as insecure that they don't think their range will look cohesive enough without doing this very unsubtle, brute forcing of using EXACTLY the same piece because they lack a more sophisticated understanding of design language.

Like LOOK LOOK ITS THE POWER CIRCLE THING, YOU'VE SEEN THAT BEFORE YOU KNOW WHAT THAT IS. LOOK ITS THE GRAV PLATES. SO YOU KNOW THIS IS A PRIMARIS SPACE MARINE VEHICLE. Older models didn't need to do this. They were okay experimenting, playing around, making everything feel a little different and a little more cobbled together, that's how we ended up with the different marks of power armour. Nowadays the designers are too timid and amateurish to play around like that, they have to colour in between the lines. Just shows how the new guys don't have the chops.
>>

Sm2 really fixed the scope’s view blocked by the iron sight on the models but official artists kept going with it.

It's funny how tourists come here thinking this is some gay lolbertarian "free speech" site like Twitter then have a meltdown when they're met with any sort of moderation.
I won't say mods/jannies are exactly fair arbiters of what is and isn't allowed on the website but if you can spur them into spawncamping your posts for weeks on end then you probably aren't the one in the right here.

I think it is more so gw doesn’t want to designers to deviate from what makes money.
Whereas the models in aos clearly have more allowance for deviation, experimentation and creativity.
Maybe the primaris desolators models with the comically by 40k standard rocket launchers was an example of permitted creativity that didn’t work out.
>>
>>98057291
I doubt any of the sculptors they have are allowed to go outside the lines. GW very very clearly has a set style they want their models (not just marines, or 40k, but everything) to follow and all their sculptors are expected to follow it. It's like with animated cartoons or whatever. The sweatshop koreans aren't allowed to add personal touches to anything. They're expected to match the style they're given exactly.

Primaris didn't make money, that's why they keep making them closer to firstborn again (Terminators, Scouts, Mk7 helmets, old Land Speeder) and are squatting some of the primaris designs (servo turret, invader, suppressors) after only two editions.
>>
>>98057318
It could have been decent, but the pacing and the fact the story ended up bloated with subplots that all had to be resolved in the final part of the book ruined it, imo. Andrej deserved his wife.

Is this just BL writers being themselves or is there something more to the way things are given that there are things to be followed and barriers that can’t be crossed and what is or isn’t allowed by gw execs?
By chance were the Star Wars novels suffering the same problems as the black library 40k books?

That was a really annoying way for you to write that, but no, it's not executive meddling, it's just the writers are fucking bad. Their prose is bad. There's no amount of GW meddling that would have anything to do with that, it's not about story decisions (although those can also be terrible) it's just the fucking WRITING itself. It's slop. Internet fanfiction tier.

There are exceptions, Fehervari for example is an incredible standout of real talent among the rest of these hacks. So was Ian Watson, rest in peace, although he's an acquired sort of taste I think and most modern readers can't handle how outdated his material is.
>>

I have been re-reading my various Omnibus editions from 20 years ago. A lot of stuff still holds up quite well, while others do not. Gotrek and Felix by King still are a delightful adventure, but the Space Wolf trilogy was far less interesting compared to when I first read it. Ultramarines Omnibus is a very interesting read and not bad at all, but Nights Lords is a painful slog. I will be curious to re-read the Soul Drinkers trilogy next.

>exceptions
How common are these exceptions generally?
And if you could make a layout for what makes for proper BL book writing done right to fans of warhammer what would the list look like?
It could probably work for Star Wars novels too as I’ve heard the canon novels aren’t very good compared to EU novels I know there are some real bad jobs there. And nostalgia and wanting to be better for liking older thing is at play here.

I feel like it varies. The Dark Imperium Trilogy was good when the plot was progressing and had chapters about the main players in that plot. But it also had plenty of chapters where it spends paragraphs having Firstborn inspecting a Primaris Bolt Rifle and going “WOW these are SO cool!” or having Space Marines go “If we always had these (Primaris) tanks we would have defeated all our foes already!” Like the story would be getting good and then it’d hit you with an ad for the new at the time Primaris units. Felix was cool though.

pacing didn't bother me. I read it in one sitting on a flight 10 years ago. Not sure how a writer could convey "we sat there without sleep fighting giant spiky green supersoldiers for weeks" without time skipping to relevant anecdotes. The book is primarily about Grimaldus inner conflict from his Emperor's Children indoctirnation and not being a retard so you can actually win, because winning is more important than glory because of all the humanity that he is forced to witness and he has almost no experience with. His relationship with andrej, his chapters bad relationship with the Salamanders, and the final desperate battle where a bunch of civilians sentenced to death stood up to die beside him do a good job of having the main character actually have some sort of meaningful journey. Could be wrong, you just read it and I read it 10 years ago but those bits really sank into my brain meat and were the context for a lot of my initial descent into the 40k rabbit hole

Obvs there is far too many details on here to be a model, but golden nails across the head, blidning him, the tangle of butcher nail cabels, the black suit mesh across the arms so hes not just bare armed like the models. Its all so good and captures the feel of a WE.
The ornate detail it also so khorne, mad and blood driven but dripped the fuck out. I also just noticed his chainaxe is a gun like a custodes spear, which would suit WE perfectly. The mini WE on his backpack is peak 40k as well

The single two biggest events in Warhammer 40k lore (Expansion of the Horus Heresy, Fall of Cadia and the subsequent Indomitus Crusade) were created entirely just to sell more types of Space Marine models. They don't even hide it that much.

When 40k switched from 7E's All-or-Nothing AP in 8E, it breathed new life on otherwise ignored weapons; now there wasn't AP3+ vs "Useless AP"...
...but it triggered AP inflation: now everything had -1AP at least, which is the most important point of AP (extra is extra).
The excessive amount of AP cheapened Invuln saves because there was so much AP now everyone needed invulns...which in turn made "rare" Mortal Wounds much more common than originally advertised. Which in turn made FnP common.

Tl,Dr; did 10E fix that?
Do you guys still have rampant AP, invulns on everything and a MW infestation?
I see lots of former Wargear and abilities got simplified into "Does X mortal wounds when Y happens".

It wasn't the system switch that caused it. It's specifically PRIMARIS that caused it. They had to give primaris special boy +1 everything which meant default weapons with -1AP

>Rapier
It's probably the ultimate sword type, even if they were a civilian weapon that was never actually used as a primary weapon at war.
Maximum reach. Subpar cutting ability, but that's what the power field is for.
A dedicated duelist (SM Champion) would also have a buckler or energized gauntlet.
>>
>>98057997
It was for faggots that wanted to turn 40k into a historical rivet counter setting.

It's shit. Especially marines who engage dozens of enemies at once even in melee.
Generic long sword/greatsword is better because the marine can use it to cleave through multiple enemies and use it to hack into enemies like an axe.
And since it has a power field stuff like thrusting and stabbing works too.

30k is a separate case because it's even more marine heavy but maye regular ass tacticals with boltguns are still great there. Almost every weapon is usable. Old AP is just better as it makes armour worth something. In 40k I'm paying for terminators whose 2+ save never works.
>>
>>98058011
Fuck you 40k was always better in Imperial Armour.
>>
>>98058031
Even an axe-type power blade has difficulty cleaving through a power armoured marine; they are just that thick. No way a longsword-type power weapon cleaves through multiple.

I'd be against rapiers the same reason I'd be against anything longer than an arming sword: they're too long for indoors use. And indoors/urban fighting is like 75% of combat.

Custodian power polearms are the pinnacle of power weapons, too bad they don't fit indoors
>>
>>98058117

Legion tacticals are useable because they get extra bolter shots on the cheapest bodies available to the faction. You don't get better than 3 bolter shots for 10 pts.
Meanwhile, it's a complete waste to have expensive Veterans use "mere bolters".
Doesn't mean bolters are good, just that tacticals are cheap.

Marines are lightning attack, decapitation strikes. A scalpel.

Let big slow guns be the purview of the Guard, the hammer of the Imperium.

Why is GW so fucked up when it makes rules
Death Guard are supposed to be slow
The fastest Drukhari vehicles are 14 inch movement.
Death Guard vehicles are 10 with an advance on every weapon, so 50% of the time they are as fast or faster than the SUPER FRAGILE GLASS CANNON army
Nothing in Drukhari has advance
>>
>>98058147
Marines do seem to have the problem of slowly creeping in scope to have the identity of every other Army too so that there's nothing unique to other factions.

Same with a longsword.
>>

Drukhari is secretly only a medium speed army outside of, specifically, Wyches.
A lot of their speed came from the fly keyword which doesn't let any of their monsters, vehicles, or mounted units get through walls anymore so they got waaaaay less mobile for everything except infantry.
They don't really have advance and charge anywhere anymore either (again, besides Wyches) because the army wide advance and charge in 9th was just too oppressive and they were scared to give it back to them.
Even their bigger stuff is surprisingly slow, with their Talos weapon platforms plodding along at 7" Mv speed and a lot of their stuff actually getting slower in 10th than it was in 9th.

Why the fuck would you even want veterans with boltguns in the first place? The point of veterans is they have access to other guns. That's still a far cry from every weapon that isn't AP3 or breaching being worthless.

It would be funny if a space marine used his glove to challenge a normal human to a duel of honor, but the blow accidentally killed him.
>>
Marines shouldn't use rapiers because they are power armor knights.
Long swords and maces + shields are more fitting and thematic.

Also rapiers are french coded, aka mega gay and for fags.
Only marines who should use rapiers are EC and DA because they are the dedicated faggot chapters/legions.

>>98058166

>>
>>98058178
FLY currently gives two advantages: You may move through engagement range and over units and you may measure diagonals up and down from terrain.
It no longer ignores vertical movement distance.
>>
>>98058179
If the marine's intention was a duel, he would not make the mistake of killing his opponent like that. Though that seems like something a chaos marine might do.
>>
>>98058164
No, not cleave *into*, cleave *through*. A power axe will puncture a space marine and reach their vitals, but they don't go through several of them in a single swing.
You can't just whirl a power blade around and delete everything in your path. Goes through metal like a kitchen knife goes through leather: it pierces, but not with a bad strike.

I get the bullshit reasoning that the bundle is priced to match how much that same squad would be in plastic (2x10 Cadians at $53 each, a command squad at $48, and a HWT at $53 comes out to $207) but how the fuck do they think they can get away with charging $40 for a single HWT (Not a group of 3, one model)?

I was gonna get a squad of 10 but even at $70 that feels egregious for 20 year old models that are a single part each.

No. It's just there to look like a fun scifi greebly.
In SM2 on some of the guns the cylinder thing spins, like plasma gun or auto boltrifle with the box magazine. For other guns it is just a static cover.
I think making it spin in the game was kinda a meh choice. I think it's cooler as a static cover.

I wish their lore would move from just being about hunting fallen to cleaning up disasters of having used their dark age tech. Them basically taking it upon themselves to take on the most bleak and suicidal missions like they used to do when emps gave the orders directly, choosing to continue this on their own with the idea that "that's what he would have wanted", but the lost knowledge of how to properly use these weapons means there's chernobyl shit being left in their wake and they have to deny shit.

With the Lion back, this makes total sense that they'd be doing a personal secret war to change the imperium to what the emperor would have wanted and fighting their greatest enemies with radical means, where Gulliman is going for a more gradual diplomatic approach.

For personal weapons though, is there anything really stopping them from giving them some unique unit equipped with radiaton weapons like admech but better or phosphex weapons or something

It always becomes a bit of a problem with niche protection, DAs having a few of them left in ther cache would make sense, but if they use it then salamanders look like total jobbers when they should have the best fire stuff, and same if you give it to everyone else, then it's like they don't ge be uniquely good at it anymore...unless you give them super phosphex.

It’s a good start. There’s no fucking reason that the redemptor with minigun should ever cost the same as redemptor with plasma cannon. The points were costed only at the most optimized wargear so it left so many wargear options and loadouts in the dust.
More importantly it can cut the amount of datasheets in half now that every loadout can just cost different and coexist on a single sheet.

if you're playing older editions a codex being OP shouldn't matter since no one is being a WAAC fag, simply identify what is OP and either don't use it or use it in moderation. That is the intended way to play warhammer

>if you're playing older editions a codex being OP shouldn't matter
That's not how it works anon, I can tell you have barely ever played this game. Balance still impacts casual players when it's so completely out of whack that one codex is raped (like 5th ed Tyranids) and another is retarded strong (5th ed greyknights). You dont need to try to be WAAC to for one guy to get totally fucked over.

5th ed codexes were also generally less flavorful too, like Grey Knights is not just OP but its bland ugly faggot shit next to its 3.5 predecessor Daemonhunters. Imperial Guard had a similar issue with OP leafblower shit while losing their 3.5 doctrines.

No one should ever play 5th, it was the beginning of enshittification. Literally every problem we have today stems from GW breaking things more and more while trying to fix all the problems they made starting in 5th edition.

I really don't understand why people are overreacting to this detachment so much. It gives Assault to blight launcher drones and myphitics. That's sorta nice, but people are pretending this is the most gigabroken shit ever and it's just an extra d6'' movement on two units, that already are reasonably fast anyway. The HBL will still have to contend with Hidden and Myphitics in my experience didn't have much problem getting in range to shoot at stuff.

Not at all, it was literally changed by the time 2md edition released when all the real original 40k creators were working there and it was their own idea. Factions had been really rough and still finding their identity in the first 2-3 years (harlequins had fucking land raiders, guardsmen could take shuriken catapults, etc) but as things started getting locked down they decided it made more sense to make jetbikes as primarily part of the eldars more advanced tech identity and tale them away from imperials.

assault on 2 models isn't what makes an army "fast", it's wide access to advance + charge, high base Movement stats, uppy downy, reactive moves, etc. DG still has extremely limited access to that

Fielding Ultramar Auxilia should be Ultramarines gimmick, their niche which would truly make them an unique subfaction. And not a codex defiant unique Marine units like Victrix Guard

>theory 1
actual cadians are borderline extinct, and many regular guardsmen have been shoved into cadian regiments as a morale booster to make them appear invincible.
>theory 2
the imperium has given habitable planets over to the cadians british-israel style in order for them to have land to recover their population.
>theory 3
cadians are secretly running breeding farms or using cloning to fast track their population back to pre-13th black crusade numbers.

Theory and is probably the biggest reason.
Though I think cadian now just means a guard training standard and I think gw said a lot of guard regiments around the imperium mimic the cadian training and uniform/gear so they didn’t have to sell too many different guard models and keep pumping out space marine stuff.

okay so hes a black ultramarine? what did he do before becoming a marine that this dude is tripping about. all you did was post an image with the word nigger and told me nothing.

There was a return to Cadia book, and at the end it confirms Creed has founded a New Cadia and is starting to rebuild.
>>
>>98059771
every single cadian that survived the fall of cadia got told that breeding is their #1 job and they colonized like 50 New Cadians
>>
>>98059771
Are you a fucking retard. There have been like 2 books and 5 short stories about Cadians resettling new worlds or having new generations not raised on Caidia in the ranks. It's even mentioned in SM2, it's literally like one of their 2 character traits as a faction. Holy newfag.

tl;dr some cadians are losing the purple eyes on the new planets and others aren't. there are multiple "new cadias". the ones without purple eyes don't have the chaos resistance of the ones that do.

>the imperium has given habitable planets over to the cadians british-israel style in order for them to have land to recover their population.
It's actually this in the fluff currently. Imperium did give them a new planet so they can continue their culture and keep creating soldiers for the Imperium.

Also it just makes sense. Cadia was a very important and prestigious Imperial Guard homeworld that was very often the first line of defence against the encroachement of Chaos during the past 10 000 years whenever there was an incursion from the Eye of Terror. This also meant that Cadia held a lot of political power within the Imperium too.
So the Highlords/Guilliman/whoever the fuck, giving the surviving Cadians a new planet to settle on after the old one turned to gravel makes sense.

Also also, most people never think about it or even realize it, but it has been stated in the lore that there are MORE cadians OUTSIDE of Cadia itself, then there were actually on it.
And this has been stated before, it also makes perfect sense again, since Cadia as a fortress world still paid the Imperial Tithe. And they did this in the form of manpower and sending regiments out into the rest of the Imperium to fight Imperium's wars.
And they have done this for like 10 000 YEARS probably.
So yeah, no shit there's MORE cadians outside of the planet of Cadia.
