>>98069864>Mechs That Are Rifleman But Better EditionLike the humble and ever-kind Blackjack?
It wasn't terrible.
>>98069864>Mechs That Are Rifleman But Better EditionDo you prance a lot?
Does anyone have a dimensionally accurate hexbase STL? I feel like making tanks today.
>>98070054Any 30mm hexes should cook fine. Mapsheet hexes are 32mm IIRC.
HONOR THE DRAGON!
>>98070054Tanks can fit 2 in a hex and their facing is usually pretty obvious. I remove mine from hexes.
>>98070027Which Lyran schoolgirl is that meant to be?
I remember reading an old sourcebook with a table listing which lostech becomes available for what faction at what year, but can't find the book. Anybody remember which book is this? It's not IntOp
>>98070423Do you mean the table on Interstellar Ops that says when a tech is prototype>production>common?
>>98070441I should add that is the only one I can think of unless you mean something completely different?
HONOUR!!!!!!!
>>98069991I keep thinking the Lancelot is one of the ones that used to be a Destroid from Macross but I guess not.
How long does Star League patent law last for mech designs before someone else can just make their own?
>>98070446It's similar, but it was like... XL engine: Drac 304X Lyran 3035 FedSun 30XX Comstar 2XXX Periphery 305X; for example.
>>98070608More often the patent wasn't on the mech design but the advanced tech in one. For example the Sentinel was a Lyran design but the Lyrans had to make do with an introtech version while the SLDF got first dibs on the better version before they felt like allowing them to be sold on.>>98070643Wait do you mean this?
What do you think about this for Anton’s Revolt:6th Orloff Grenadiers (5,265)Zeus (4/5) 1,374Warhammer (3/4) 1,715Enforcer (4/4) 1,135Valkyrie (3/3) 1,0418th Ducal Guards (5,102)Marauder (4/5) 1,363Crusader (4/5) 1,317Phoenix Hawk (4/4) 1,145Shadow Hawk (3/5) 1,277The Grenadiers are meant to be a veteran loyalist regiment while the Guards are an overall green regiment cobbled together from the survivors of destroyed rebel units and new recruits. The ‘Mech selection can’t change. I just took a shot at breaking the eight choices into two lances and balancing with a variety of gunnery/piloting skill buffs.
LGS ran out new salvage boxes. Final count; 2 chargers, 2 griffins, a loki, a mad cat (bounty hunter), sm1 TD, and a caesar. Ngl I really wanted carlyle's marauder
>>98070677For that kind of stuff, I feel like it's not really patents so much as arms export control laws. Like how in real life a company that makes submarines can't just sell their technology to anyone even though they own patents because various governments all have laws that say they get final say on anything military related. The companies making that stuff are locked by the star league to only provide the export controlled tech to the SLDF directly even if it's made in a member state.
>>98070713>The ‘Mech selection can’t change. Pity I was thinking a Goliath might be more appropriate for Marik than a Zeus even if the Zeus was likely Lyran salvage since the Goliath is one of the few assaults that the Mariks actually make at this point.>>98070752I kind of made a hash of explaining it and this is a better explanation.
>>98069864Toyama my beloved
>>98070677Yes exactly that thing. Thank you so much
>>98069889BJ C existsRFL C3 exists.
>>98071336If only they gave the Rifleman C1 DHSs
Favorite Annihilator variants?
>>98071699Gausszilla, because it's funny.
>>980716991XMost of the variants are way too underarmored for my liking.
Did MODdding IndustrialMechs only became a thing in DA? Or it was there even earlier?
>>98072700Been a thing from basically day one for militias and in Solaris.
>>98072700Jihad is the impetus for most codified MODs. A lot of industrialmech manufacturers pivoted to producing combat units, which meant MODs or retrotech. Then dark age and all the disarming meant MODs continued to be prominent because now there's blueprints and technical instructions for mounting a missile launcher in your loadermechs cargo bay. You know, just in case the knights who destroyed all your battlemechs and combat vehicles leave you completely and totally defenseless. You know, just in case.
Vehicles on hexes or on their own?
>>98072767On hexes.
>>98072767On hexes. If stacking just use one of them and set the other next to the map as a reminder.
>>98072757Much like the Jihad, the Dark Age in detail is a complete shitshow of bad writing but the basic idea under is almost great. So, your new idealistic realm chooses to disarm everyone trying for peace, and if you don't want to be disarmed, we're going to apply the most underhanded glowie methods to disarm you. For the greater good. Ah, the Great Crisis appears (caused by the same glowies by the way), for sure our Benefactors and Protectors will act! Wait what do you mean they barricaded themselves in safety and those who didn't rejected their oaths and went back to ethnic tribalismI swear, the Republic makes the WoB plans look borderline adequate. Maybe that's the point, with the Republic being a half-assed plan of the Master to gain something out of the Jihad.
>>98072700As said a day one thing since forever. What we really lacked for the longest time were examples with stats even if we had pics in some cases.
>>98073011>ethnic tribalismNational tribalism.
>>98073773That presupposes that Nation = EthnicityWe have since been made uneniably aware that such is not the case, therefore National Tribalism is a lie, it must always be explicitly Ethnicity to which one is loyal.
im running a campaign for a friend and they are currently pirate hunting. Its during the 3040s and I want to give the pirates something big and kind of scary but kind of easy to destroy. Do you think a Cyclops would be a good choice plausible for pirates to have?
>>98073819Quickdraw
>>98073819The cyclops has been out of production for almost 300 years at that point, I'm pretty sure it only ever had one factory to begin with, they're pretty highly valued so it's not like anyone's throwing them aside to be salvaged by pirates, and it's not exactly a pushover as far as assault mechs go.Perhaps a charger 1A1 or 1L would be more suitable if you're insistent on it being an assault mech.
>>98073819Not entirely easy to destroy but a Banshee would not be unheard of if you want a more tanky opponent?>>98074048Depends on the Cyclops. If it has a working B-2000 then it is prized. If not then its often used as a decoy. Cyclops has firepower but basically no armor in the arms or legs so isn't exactly that hard to kill.
>>98070027MY FIST IS THE FIST THAT WILL PIERCE THE LIGHT MECHS!!!
We need to get more vtubers into battletech...
My buddy brought these back for me as a souvenir from his Japan trip. They are 1/285 scale so I slapped them on some hex bases. The Valkyirie is an obvious proxy but I'm not sure what I should run the Q'Rau as. I was thinking maybe an Emperor because to looks too big to be any of the ostmechs.
>>98074490If only the core box came out half a decade ago...
>>98074621I did the Pillager for mine, a shame they're so fragile though
>>98074632>the two unstreamers Bro...
>>98074621Devastator has a fat top, could be that.
>>98074621Grand Crusader?
Do you guys think something cool will happen during the Ilcan era?
>>98074969If it's not the Blakists coming back and exterminating the Sharts and the Bears, I'm not interested.
>>98074969I want an Italian (Non-Roman) great house, they can lead a Freebirth Rebellion on Terra and kick wolf out with Gariboldi type leader, they then pick at everyones teritory to become a new great house, their mechs are painted Rosso Corsa. Wolf sits in the Lyran Cuck chair.
look at this dude
>>98075071>Italian >(Non-Roman)That goes without saying as only italians confuse italians with romans.
>>98075071>GoingBaldy>Not a MartianONE JOB, Anon!
>>98074976Ghost bear need to fucking die, I'm tired of them, I don't care if its the deep space blakists who get them or the star adders purging tainted hybrid states, the bear dominion crap must end.
>>98075083Daaaaw
>>98074010I wanted something a bit bigger than a quickdraw>>98074048yeah the fact its quite rare is the main sticking point for me, but because of its lack of armour im pretty sure it would get chewed through quite quickly.>>98074321I think I will be going with a Banshee in the end. Probably just the BNC-3E
>>98075071I mean, if you think about it, isn’t the third star league to the first star league essentially what the Holy Roman Empire was to the Roman Empire?
>>98075231If you want the Banshee to be a little easier you could always give it some existing, some armor or a disabled weapon. It's totally reasonable to me that pirates might have mechs that aren't 100%
>>98075083what a guy
Did a few of horses.
>>98075584Fuckin’ nice, dude. Very well done.
>>98075584Those look really nice. I really like the lasers and the Lrms being painted like that
Why are Rocket launchers only availible so late into the setting. surely someone was strapping them to mechs before the start of the 31st century
>>98075706
>>98075706That’s like responding to Ukrainians strapping ERA to export M1 Abrams by asking why nobody thought to do that before.1. It is retarded.2. It was not in common possession of anyone retarded enough to do that until recently.
>>98075706They aren't, they're just not the good rocket launchers the Marians started busting with in the 3060s. Prototype Rocket Launchers are introduced in fucking 2470.Come strapped pirate king, you know you gotta keep that thang on you.
The wars of reaving were a mistake."definitely not a steel viper fan"
The Wars of Reaving were a mistake*definitely not a sore Society loser*
>>98075849The Marian rl 7000000000 marauder is especially dumb. It clearly shouldn't have 70000000000 rocket tubes on it, it should instead have a fucking ripple fire cell packed launcher instead, like we have now, hell we had the 'bomb' looking ones for jets and helicopters for a gorillion years at this point, and they're stupidly accurate and fast firing.
>>98075906There are 85 rockets in each side torso. For evenly packed tubes, you are looking at multiples of 5 or 17. Five would look fucking hysterically silly compared to other RL mechs; compared to real rocket launchers maybe not, but it won't look right standing next to another shitbox with a bunch either.Still I can see the point; a cassette of five circular launchers over the marauder II's "shoulders" would have a much smoother silhouette.
>>98075231Not sure what the setup is going to be but could to the 3Q Banshee if you want to make a sort of boss fight where they have to slowly work them down at range or risk being shot by an AC/20?
Alright. A pair of hachetmen, 8s's is 2,998 bv at 4/5's. Ewwwwwww. I can foresee I will be spending all the SP? I get on TRAINING these numpties up.Still, that means I am bringing two melee bash bros. With a pair of lbx10's and four cermlas. 5/8/5 move. We getting Axe with it.
Clan xlfe... yum.
What is the latest the timeline goes before you start ignoring its existence?
>>98076646I don't ignore anything at a certain date, but I would retcon a lot of the Late DA forward if I magically won the lottery and bought the IP.I do ignore a fuckton of tech and chassis retcons that ruin timeline coherency.
>>98070729New salvage boxes look like ass, basically no new chassis.
>>98076605>two melee bash bros. You'd think so, given it's in the name and everything, but actually trying to use their hatchets is how Hatchetman pilots get sent to the shadowrealm.
>>98076694Well, banzai-ing suicidally into melee is bad regardless. Its more of the AA platform that can guard itself whilst being highly mobile.Plus the 8s has actual armour unlike the older models that have... uh... suggestions? Of armour.
>>98076646No plot at all exists after clan fuckface got wiped out by VSD and friends. Time progresses but NOTHING HAPPENED.
>>98076655>I do ignore a fuckton of tech and chassis retcons that ruin timeline coherency.Elaborate?
>>98075906Just wait until you see the Marian rl 8000000000 Longbow
>>980769135 yuan he's cranky about anyone but comstar having TRO 2750 stuff despite that being the case for 25 years now.
Clan grade Light Fusion, the holy grail...
>>98076982One crit in each side torso?
>>98076965That and Rosebud Dracs. You want those things? Get them in the 3050's when they go back in production. 3025 is not the place for that shit.
>>98077071Also, Stoners making a bunch of new top grade stuff in the 3120's when it was maximum downtech time originally. Stuff like the Lament should be 3135+.
>>98077071Why yes, I will be running a full lance of Hussar HSR-300-Ds and there's nothing you can do to stop me
>>98077086I'm fully aware we're not allowed to hang faggots anymore.
>>98076646I have zero personal interest in anything after jihad at the very latest and only know anything about anything that happens after that so I can communicate with people talking about it and understand what they're saying.
>>98077071TRO:3039 came out during the first few months of Barrack Obama's first term as president. 3025 revised is contemporary with the NATO intervention in the former Yugoslavia.
>>98077136And the HG lawsuit on unseen was won forever. And 3039 was pushed by cowards going "Muh crab 20" in the official forums. The damage and rot is there. It stays there, fucking up the timeline, until it is removed.
>>98077020That would be the idea. It is the only niche remaining not covered by existing alternative engine types.
>>98075584Really nice work bro!
