>>98370090It's still up on gw's webstore here but the site I usually get my discounted stuff from was sold up practically immediately too
>>98370116I'm glad I decied to preorder yesterday at 9pm pst when it went up on the website I usually buy stuff at. The set was gone by 6am in the morning today.
>>98370145I'm a little bit surprised because it's coming off the back of starter sets for both 40k and tow, and the discount doesn't even seem that great. I guess people are really liking the new ogres.
If anyone can help me find the pdfs i am missing, i would be thankful. I am willing to share the stuff i have.
God cleavers can do so much fucking damage man.
>>98370213I think part of it is just that Ogre sets are inherently always great value. Like the old Beastclaw SC was hugely popular even when they were one of the worst armies just because it was such an accessible way to get into the army. You buy one discount box for Ogres, paint up like a dozen models and you've got half an army already, and the new models are really good looking so even better.
How do we fix them?

>>98370213Scalpers are genuinely a fucking problem and a plague these days.
>>98370325They don't need fixing. They're fine as a micro faction.
>>98370527>scalping a box that's barely a discount anywaySounds business plan
>>98370564Unique book cover though
Knotley does it again!
>>98370564Nobody said they're smart. These same niggers tried scalping dominion starter sets, if you recall.
>>98370623Knotley is an unsung hero, always here to answer the important questions, like>What would it look like if I painted my insanely expensive models to look like retarded clowns? He's saved the world thousands of wasted dollars, a true hero.
I thought they jist didn't have much art to share yesterday but no, there's a fuckton of ogre art they just decided not to show it lmaoHere's a big beastclaw herd duking it out with some fatcast
>>98370628No they didn't . GW had whole bucnh of anti-scalping things rolled out so it specifically dind't happen sicne it was fresh off the Cursed City sell out controversy and GW couldn't let it happen again.
>>98370269They are so strong that I think it was a marketing ploy. They hit harder with those cleavers than ironguts with their hammers. Mawdeniers in shambles
>>98370638I imagine they make those articles last thing on a Friday before they fuck off to the pub, they're always criminally low effort
>>98370638Yes but this sucks. They have so little momentum that they look like on a merry-go-round
>>98370713Such is the power of the gulping god>>98370741This one was noticeably bad even compared to the other ones though. Just 5 articles, none of the new art. Very weird.
how long does it usually take until a pre-order box gets to your hands

>>98369875>Like you'd think they'd give idk high elves or o&g some shit first instead of giving chaos warriors yet another set of shiny new toys.I assume it's because Warriors are the primary antagonist not only of this edition but going forward. Medium term they are building to The Great War Against Chaos where Chaos Hordes invade Kislev, to introduce Kislev. So you kinda want your main bad guy faction in all the promo shots to be the most up to date, especially when they will be photographed next to Cathay and Kislev heavily

The fuck are you guys talking about? The box is still available. Checked just now
I have never played aos before. All my friends play 40k and kill team. Which I enjoy. But I am fucking in love with nighthaunt, I impulse bought more models today. I plan on converting one or two of my friends to start collecting and play. Help out a newfag. I am currently painting up10xchainrasps10xbladegeist revenants10x grimghast reapers1xethereal courtHow fucked am I? What shouldn't I have bought? What should I buy next? I would just prefer a fun easy well balanced list. Any suggestions would be really fucking neat.
>>98371327Why would you spend money on a game you have never played before? What if you don't like it? 4.0 is pretty divisive, Spearhead is fantastic but it's absolutely possible that you won't like the full game.
>>98371342Because playing is just a part of the hobby. I enjoy painting, collecting, reading. All aspects of the hobby. The sculpts are fantastic and you weren't there to stop me. If I don't like it I will sell them. They were a reasonable price for the models. I will look into expanding with spearhead and painting them next.
>>98371358>Because playing is just a part of the hobby>If I don't like it I will sell themYou contradict yourself. But thank you for your service. People like you help keep costs down for the rest of us.
>>98371401Clearly I am familiar with the game since I play other gw slop. I obviously will enjoy playing. I have seen battle reports and read about their faction rules. I was asking for nighthaunt specific advice on how models and unit synergy plays. What would go well with what I already collected. Your only advice is buy spearhead then rub your jewish hands together. Thought AOS players were better than this.
>>98371327I think you picked a shit ass time to get into NH, I'm fucking miserable over the changes. I guess here's my rant. All your elite infantry does the same shit, the book for this edition basically dumped on the gameplay so instead of being a swarm of ghosts rushing in to terrify and nerf your opponent you're now... I dunno, stand on points ghosts, Ethereal court is solid, but the horse guy is borderline useless unless you have hexwraiths (which look like shit, the Dreadblade harrows that look good are garbage) you're hard to kill but not hard enough if anyone can output damage and you don't get much healing or resurrection. chainrasps are eh, bladegheists and grimghasts are solid but you're gonna want to reinforce those, I'm gonna be real you're gonna need Olynder bare minimum, Crossboos are eh but if you get Curdoss who is also a fantastic model they work together pretty well. (I'll say it, I love all the models, except hexwraiths. Nighthaunt are so god damn cool and deserve better) I'd say if you want to run in boatman is good for that, and you're gonna need terrain and endless spells if you really wanna go in with NH. The army functions but it feels about as flavorful most of the time as a bowl of grule. Also don't pick up Nagash unless you're doing it strictly for the model he is positively worthless in the army.
>>98371437Thanks! I have heard they aren't the strongest but I am not looking to compete. I just want a solid army that will be decent all around to move around the table. I agree, the hexwraiths look like hammered dogshit. Lady Olynder is pretty much an autoinclude from what I have read. I don't want a faction with such awesome models be reduced to an army with no identity.
Was kinda surprised the new battletome shows off how to paint some new schemes.
>Ogor army set sold out on the official store within 40 mins of going liveDid the Cities of Sigmar army set back in 2023 sell out as fast too? Also, did anyone here pre-order a set?
>>98371506Post pictures? Is GW finally adding color scheme ideas again in their Codexes/Battletomes?
>>98370861Painfully true. There’s got to be someone out there who teaches pant schemes which use minimal differing paints. Buying lots of colors and shades adds up
>>98371506Oh, I wonder if they finally took the feedback that including 1 page that says "basecoat this color and wash this color" or "use this contrast" then nothing else was largely unhelpful. People want recipes, not pre-fundamental beginner instructions.
I like the look of the Meatfist Army of Renown. Looks like a throwback to the old Ogre Charge rule, but better (for non-monsters).
I am saddened by the lack of bear traps.
Skaven should be renamed "Children of the Horned Rat" to be in compliance with teh other naming conventions of the other Chaos Gods. Even Hashut got it right and he's not even one of the big 5.
>>98370325"magic water" and "dark eldar but oceans" is dumb. The sea monsters should just be things with legs that can come out of the water and onto land, like a giant turtle with legs or giant crabs. This is also so it would be easier to kitbash a Vampire Coast army.
I love my domme Morathi
>>98370631The daily dose ogre is kino.
>>98371551It didn't.I did preorder, yes. I like ogres since FB way back and aos ogres as well as the tow chongres are all nice.
>>98370091>TQRealistically speaking probably a normal human from Cities of Sigmar, as long as they're not wearing armor, or as long as we're both wearing armor. I'd argue that armor in and of itself is a weapon though. Iron feet, Iron fists you know what I mean. I'm pretty confident of myself in being able to defend against a human but any magical being, unless I had the blessing of Sigmar or something, I don't think I could win that fight.
>>98371935I think it depends. If they're a hardened warrior of many battles, they would be tough to beat.I wonder if a regular elf, yes, they're much faster, but I am so much stronger, would make it tough for them to overcome that.
>>98371872I'll get back to them when my Jade Warriors are all painted, honest.
>>98371872If I can pick up Morathi on the cheap, do I attempt to make greenstuff "improvements" to her and the snake?
>>98372043To give her bigger tits and ass?
>>98372043>"improvements"You're going to model a lamia pussy?
>>98372070Giving her bare breasts would be (fairly) simple, but her dress makes expanding her ass difficult without majorly reworking her entire lower half.>>98372080>lamia pussyI was just going to do her breasts, but looking at the model, I suppose it's doable. The question is, would something like that look aesthetically pleasing?
>>98372117>would something like that look aesthetically pleasingProbably not but it would be funny
>>98372117Depends on how good a sculptor you are.DESU best would be to buy a bag of army men for $5 and practice sculpting tits onto them. Once you get good, then work on Morathi. If anyone calls you a degen, just say it's a throwback to Morathi on Pegasus
Good fucking damn it when are the deepkin going to get a proper release wave!
>>98372148Have some practice lined up for myself on top of all the witch elves and other DoK stuff I'm already "adding variety" to. I'll have racked up plenty of experience by the time I find a secondhand Morathi kit to start working on.
>>98372190Based.May your offerings to Morathi lead to divine blessings
>>98372234I wish you'd stop posting AI slop, at least commission some actual smut to post anon.
>>98370552more like micro penis, lmaooooo
>>98370623on second thought, maybe unpainted models are preferable to this slop
>>98372258I will in just under 4 years. Want to wait until I'm a millionaire
Have the points for the new Ogors been published anywhere online? And the profiles?I'm going through my old collection to see what i got now. i know Ironguts are units for 3 for example, so I picked up a whole extra unit of the guys just by that.
>>98372234Get this foid outta here, I want her son

>>98372437Eshin rat ogres are hiding in wait. Trust the plan.
>>98371327Nighthaunt have had probably the most boring and disappointing tome this edition. They're playable of course, they're not even bad per se, they just made them boring as fuck to play. >>98371437 sums it up pretty nicely, you just kind of sit there.Inspiring misery is kind of on brand for nighthaunt though, so at least on a meta level the gw writers are being thematic!
>>98372403https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/downloads/warhammer-age-of-sigmar/
>>98371697Major issue with Meatfist is just that you don't get wizards. Otherwise the rules look decent. The Mawseeker AoR also looks decent. The BCR one is really bad.
>>98372437I honestly think eshin were supported begrudgingly after mordheim was killed off

How did Ogres go from this to obese Americans?an ad hoc gut plate become x10 the size
>>98372581twas harder to tell the difference between them and goblins.
>>98372588No it wasn't, that was the whole advantage of representative minis vs the realistic ones these days, they where made to be easily identify able from far away to play the game, not something you need to closely look at to see what it is
>>98372581They were originally supposed to be hobbit redesign, but someone cast them at wrong scale and it stuck
>>98372581they needed to be different from orcs they needed to fit in both empire, chaos and orcs they needed to be modular with thick details for 6th ed plastic mouldsthey needed a racial identity to be their own army, that identity was "big brute"
>>98372649these problems where solved by the best version sculpted by the perrys
>>98372657no, they weren'tinstead of making them orcs they made them trolls dressed as chaos thugsand those are not fit for modularity
>>98370623I love these cleaver/zanbato guys.A shame I'm not gonna be playing Ogors, I might try find one on sale to paint up
>>98372649The aesthetic is mostly fine. But I prefer the lore identity of them from WHFB. Eating and fighting were a big part of their culture in fantasy as well, but they also had a big trade background. With the Kingdoms in the Mountains of Mourn bringing in a lot of their wealth through stuff like trade tariffs and toll roads. It’s a bit of a shame that they have been flanderized to be mostly just hungry retards, but that is the way of AoS lore for better or worse. Maybe when the Last World reboot happens their lore can be given some enrichment that is more than just they like to eat. Both the named characters are big steps back from how cool Greasus and Skrag were both in design and lore too. But especially design.
>>98372663Enjoy your round black female ogorsLmao
>>98372678Awful bait.
>>98372682He is right, modern lore is retard tier
>>98372679Are you enjoying any of those perry ogres?
>>98372668SameMight pick up these guys to bring as allies. Maybe if the spearhead comes out on its own I'll just bite the bullet to play it in SH
>>98372679>Enjoy your round black female ogorsI will over
Nagash is all.
>>98372693She's a strong independent ogor
>>98372678>>98372684What? The muh food shift happened in 2005, it's not an AoS invention. What are you guys talking about?
>>98372705Yes zoomie, the new shit
>>98372709You need to try harder.
>>98372711NopeYou need to read better
>>98372709But they didn't get flanderized, any more than they were in whfb?
>>98372581>>98372657How did we go from that to THIS?!
>>98372732If only they kept this aesthetic and didn't give him a pin head
>>98372727Except they did.Go and read the 2005 army book for the Ogre Kingdoms, then compare it to the AoS battletome. The Ogres were rather savvy brutes. They weren't drooling retards, just primitive and incredibly blunt because they are 10 foot tall strongmen who feel very little pain due to their thick hides. They were traders and travellers, and tribes often hired themselves out as guides and escorts for merchants heading out to Cathay. They would set up tolls and extortion rackets and pick up cultures they encountered like weird, fat parrots. The head honcho of the faction was a trade lord for christ's sake. All of that is gone in the Mawtribes. Hell they even seem to be easing back on the maneater/mercenary aspect which just leaves eating.Seriously, go read the old books and compare Ogres to Ogors. One had a culture, the other is a caricature.
>>98372186We really should get a Yhetee unit in Warcry or spearhead to wrap up BCR before their targeted refresh. Maybe 3x yhetees, 1x Icebrow (raised by Yhetees nod), and an old grizzled frost sabre to distinguish itself from Gorgers.I'm sad about the savannah shit because the old mountainous themed mounts were suitable for both Gutbusters and BCR with a different paint scheme. This lizard dog and African rhino shit is a big miss.
>>98371757We do not speak of them anymore for their association with that which must not be named
>>98372760Is that a token for an AoR artifact? That's so cool
I think ogres will be popular enough we'll see leadbelchers again but it's really hard to tell if BCR are getting closed down or if we'll see them revived. Gutbusters getting their own cav say the former, new (good) hunter ranged unit says the latter.I def don't think the artillery is staying nor even if they redo BCR are they keeping stonehorns and thundertusks. I think if it was redone we'd get>one type of new big beast, named/hero and generic version>new priest, mounted or maybe a foot oneI also expect this release to be popular enough we'll get leadbelchers back in some form.
>>98372749Read the battletome, have you? It beats you over the fucking head that ogres are more canny than they appear. They trade, they hire themself out, they even build empires. That was globb's whole deal. They work as wartime mercenaries, as caravan guards, all that shit.Redd's whole RETVRN deal is very clearly not universally accepted among ogres, as shown by the RoR, the short story, and grell's whole existence. Even morga obviously doesn't really give a fuck and is simply piggybacking off of redd spreading religious fervour to consolidate her own position as the new prospective overtyrant.Either shut the fuck up and actually read next time or stick to total war
>>98372823YOU BLOODY BASTARD
>>98370091By the way some people were talking about this artwork in the last thread as the background appeared unfinished, which is because it literally was.The full piece in the battletome has morga on her glutthorn
>>98372912Have I read the new battletome? No. I didnt buy the FOMO box. But I have the read the previous battletomes and those aspects of Ogor society get a handful of pity mentions at best, relegated to the background so we can focus on how dumb and hungry the fat guys are.
>>98372970>Have I read the new battletome? No.
>>98372970>>98372985Yeah, but also, somehow:>lore in those battletomes sucked, ogors are onlu hungry and stupid now, ogres were mercenaries and had rackets>leader of the posterboy Ogor faction in those battletomes
>>98372985Are you telling me that they reworked the faction lore entirely? That last editions battletome is completely obsolete? That nothing in its fluff sections remains relevant? >>98373006>leader of the posterboy Ogor faction in those battletomes>who never had a model, or art>who had maybe a handful of mentions, about equal with that frost king Beastclaw guy>who is now fucking dead>and replaced by the most basic bitch standard 'hungry and dumb' tyrant except shes a womanYou're right, the new battletome did change things. It made it even worse.
>>98373032You must be an Ogor yourself if you can move a goalpost that far
>>98373045>>98373045And you have to be a fucking retard if you can't see that the depiction of Ogor society is a significant downgrade from Ogre society in fantasy.
>>98373032>old lore good, new lore bad>"old" new lore is just an old lore>he has no clue what's in a "new" new loreTrue retard, I salute
>>98372939what the fuck
>>98372939Holy shit
I like the emphasis on the ogors faith, it makes them far more interesting than I ever really found ogres in fb.
>>98373032Anon, I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and treat your as if you've simply got rose-coloured glass on instead of just being an ordinary baiter. There's plenty of references to mercenary work (and to a lesser extent, trade and tribute) in the battletome. It also introduces a whole new religious schism and all the tensions that entails, which can hardly be called flanderization. Furthermore, I feel like you're overstating (over-remembering?) how much the army books delved into ogre culture .I just took another peel at the 8th edition one, and 98% of it still just ogres being dumb might makes right brutes who love eating. The only thing I will concede is that the descriptions of the geography of the mountains of mourn are cool, and it's something that the AoS tome is sorely lacking due to the lesser focus on geography in general in AoS. Oh, and maneaters adapting to other cultures, though who knows what they'll do when maneaters actually return in model form in 5th (beyond Grell). Also morga is far from a basic 'hungry and dumb' tyrant, she's explicitly relying on her brood and redd's zealotry for her position because she's not the brawniest. She seems very cunning for an ogre which you would know if you read the new battletome I dunno why you would make assumptions about a character you have self-admittedly not read the lore for
>>98373032Reworked or not, there is a precedent with CoS where it's rebuilt the entire lore with each book and all the previous literature, articles, etc. may as well be used as wiping paper as they are not even remotely relevant to current battletome lore. Am I playing it up a bit? Yeah. But you understand the actual point being made because you're smart enough to read between the lines.
>>98373214Thank god, it seems that old Ogors with new head will fit just right
>>98373214I find it somewhat weird that they completely gave up on the metal tooth motif that they invented and later orks (and then orcs) stole. All their jaw motifs are now solid
>>98373318You mean like on the mournfang blades?Yeah seems like their new cleavers are a lot more smooth
>>98373335resin tyrants too. It was quintessentially Ogre before Ironjawz
>>98372939Watch GW never post the real versions
>>98372912>read the Battletome>trade is brought out >mention trading to ogres is mostly taking what they want from people in exchange for what they don’t want Yeah dude, I did actually read it. Gone are the days of Toll Roads and trade agreements. They have been completely flanderized and you are creating subtext that doesn’t exist with your desperate attempt to defend the flanderization. Also NTA
>>98373533What's the idea here?
>>98373543I think making them more like picture book trolls from Norwegian fairy tales or whatever
>>98373508The tome mentions globb's contracts constantly anon>>98373508>you are creating subtext that doesn’t existI hope you are not talking about redd's fervour not being shared by all ogres because they spell this shit out for you numerous times
>>98372884>I think ogres will be popular enough we'll see leadbelchers againThere's this little piece of art where Grell is talking to callis and toll while a few of her mercenary followers are curiously looking at some cannons. I do think leadbelchers are set to return as/with maneaters in next edition's rumoured wave

Oh and also this beastclaw illustration has some unknown big beasties in the back, probably just flavour but if they ever replace stonehorns and thundertusks like they did the mournfang it might be with these guys. I kinda like em.

He offers to prepare a feast for the city's rulers – one that encapsulates all of mortal life. For five nights, Glutos dines with a different class of society, from gutter snipes to highborn debutantes. On the sixth night, he presents his banquet: hideous, roasted homunculi made from the stitched-together organs of his most engaging dinner guests. While most of the city's dignitaries react with horror, their knight-champion Kyazu – secretly burdened by cannibal urges – is enthralled. Together, Glutos and his new disciple overthrow the ungrateful lords of the city, and Kyazu swears to be the Lord of Gluttony's blade so long as he keeps crafting such delights.

>>98374937>SylvanethYou still kinda have to paint SOME metallics there, but it can be optional if you want and its really only isolated on some characters. I guess fec is also a good candidate considering its mostly just naked retards.
>>98374942Just paint their weapon as wood.

So I've just been learning about age of sigmar, and particularly the lumineth realm lords and how they bind with elemental spiritsif there are spirits of the various ecosystems, like mountain spirits or river spirits, do spirits have their own ecosystem? is there a spirit of spirits that an elf could bind with? or what about like a spirit of the noosphere?
>>98375042It's AoS it's not really that well thought through or deep. It's more to do with the vibes of the idea than actual mechanics.
>>98375040S/t as in strength/toughness, which aos doesn't have. There's just a fixed to wound requirement per weapon. There's still armour waves and wards and shit, but there's no making sure you have enough high strength attacks to even have a chance at wounding whatever high tougness tank your opponent fields.Damage spillover means that damage in AoS is allocated per unit, not per model like in 40k.Like let's say you hit 1 attack that deals 5 damage into a unit of gretchin, who all have 1 health each. The attack will simply hit one grot for 5 damage and kill him and only him.Whereas in AoS it'l kill 5 grots, as it's considering the entire unit taking that attack instead of per model. Both these factors mean AoS is less of a rock-paper-scissors thing, more about positioning and stuff.

>>98375218I always thought it funny that dragon ogee models have always literally just been normal ogres on some draconic body.
