Would this card count as chaining extra turns, therefore making it not a legal bracket 3 card? Just making sure I'm playing honest with my friend group before I include it in a time themed deck
If there needs to be a ranking system to protect noobs then it should be player and skill based not deck based. There's zero reason fully grown adults who have played magic for a decade should be whining and complaining that I dared run a winter orb against their quirk chungus landfall deck

I get how it works on the eldrazi spell/creature I cast.I either get 1 extra raw or 6 total with the creepy claw.I get how to do ETB triggers(I think).Does this interact with non eldrazi instants/sorceries or attack triggers in any way if I time it right?Im probably way too green to consider playing this, but 5 color and witch-maw commanders are few in number. This guy seems like somebody I could build any kind of deck around and have him/it contribute something? I have 600 cards for 5 commanders swirling around in my head. Consider this a loud cry for help

>>98396404It's so they can ban my timesifter lantern control deck
I have never seen this card before. I know it costs a lot of mana but I really wanna but it into a deck and cheat it out. such a fun effect. why do people not play it? playing consecrated sphinx instead?
>>98396376Technically yes but in practice it's probably going to be a hassle because you specifically need to cast an eldrazi spell while Ulalek is on the board and spend 2 colorless which might not seem like a big deal but will get harder to do consistently the more colors you include. If I were to experiment I'd probably try to restrict myself to 1-2 colors and include ways to return some of the cheaper eldrazi cards to your hand. Something like casting endless one for 0 or 1 or eldritch immunity to trigger the condition might be the way to go.
>>98396440that's a lock though which is totally different from "chaining extra turns" (which in reality is just gavin telling people to stop durdling with extra turns and finish the damn game}

I never really thought about the optimal landbase for a 5 color deck. if I run 10 fetches and 10 shocklands, thats a lot of damage just from your own lands. yea I know fast mana is great and life points are just a resource, but whats the math behind it? what do you guys play if you are fine with using any land except the original duals of course?
>>98397289For actual fans it triggers autism because it's never actually said in the franchise. It's a mistranslation of several different versions of the line delivery, kinda like how it's not actually Luke I am your father in Star Wars, if you get me
>>98396468How is that any different of a lock than recurring the same extra turn spell? I would actually say recurring the same extra turn spell is more of a lock since I only have so many non-land cards in my library, eventually I'll whiff on the top 3 of my library

Long-time magic player, first time commander player at my local shop's "casual" night. (3s and below, they had a round timer for 'you can't kill or infinite before this timer, we're here to have fun' real casual shit.) I built my deck to be like a 2 or really weak 3 (couple resilient bombs)>no searching my deck at all>no game changers>no infinites/table-kill combosI had a fine game- played some rocks, cast my spells, threw removal and got some pointed at me. That's generally how I expected things to go. But holy fuck everyone else at the table was either popping the FUCK off (pests lifegain getting like 40 +1/+1 counters in one turn) or threatening to kill everyone out of nowhere (some FF character hitting everyone for 20+ lifegain damage whenever a token attacked anyone else or some shit) from like.. turn 5. Is that just how this format goes? "I cast my commander now I'm going to pop the fuck off"? Is it actually bad manners to stop someone from hitting everyone for 20 and gaining 60 life? Couple of these dudes were calling me rude for playing fucking Syphon Mind on turn 4
>>98397570it exists specifically for people to build a mono red or boros dwarf+equipment+treasures deck. and you're meant to specifically curve it into this guy.this is how they design sets now, the "draft archetypes" are actually just disassembled commander precons, featuring similar levels of parasitism.for anyone that's not doing this specific red + tribal + equipment + treasures thingamajig, it's worse than the other 12 mythic rare 3cmc swords. equip {3}. meh.
>>98397609I'm pretty sure its solid ramp for any the deck that can pump out lots of tokens of a single type.
>>98397606yes. the precons are b3 and regularly feature random combos that can win from hand with just the commander on board. the two I've played with were jeskai striker which could do nondeterministic storm stuff with storm-kiln artist on like turn 5, and Tidus/Yuna, which could instawin a couple of ways with walking ballista and randomly explode into a bunch of +10/+10 reach trample summonsnot a fan tbdesu. I think commander gets less fun above bracket 2 basically. Gisa and Geralf was much closer to what I want to see from precons but unfortunately the cat is now out of the bag and I think the community of precon buyers will only want to buy juiced decks
>>98397606>is this how this format goes?Yes because you're playing with goddamn randoms who dont share every single thing you believe in anon, the round timer is pretty much the only workable gentleman's agreement>they cry about syphon mindExactly my point

>>983975706 mana+requiring combat damage+requiring a board of creatures will keep it pretty low. Reaver Cleaver is better (not requiring a board state to pay out big) and it's under $20.My guess, it settles $6-8 bucks.

Here's my latest attempt at non-traditional control Vorosh. The intended table is pretty low power. I'm still working on a wincon that is satisfying and effective enough. Intruder alarm became too degenerate and I'm not really happy about playing the overrun/jarad cards they seem disjointed but I'll test and see where I want to go later. Ultimately I'd like to remove all of the destroy effects and strictly run tap, blank and forced combat.

Extremely high fantasy with the way too bright glow and weird lines all over it (Anduril had similar issues in the lotr set where it just didn't even remotely look like a weapon made by a smith). The effect is basically nonsensical and evokes nothing of what the blade is, it should do something like give menace (even better if only against orcs and goblins, or unblockable by those creature types). Why does it create treasure based on YOUR creature type? If it'd been an enters effect, then at least you could have made the argument "Orcrist and a bunch of treasure gets found by the company" but it's on combat damage, aka when you fucking swing it.

Thats 100% of the reason I dropped competitive mtg for yugioh. Also I really like what konami tried with genesys, it needs a lot of work but they tried. You would never get wotc to put half that effort into any format. In conclusion comparing wotc favorably to konami is unjustified

No reason to not have it in a deck that touches green, right?
>>98399554Commander officially does not allow sideboards, but it's also a nonsanctioned format, so if a store is doing an event that allows sideboards then they are allowed to do that too.

>>98399598It has no immediate impact is the problem. When I say "does nothing on its own" I mean that it's a 7-mana investment that doesn't progress your game plan unless you go from this card and then run out something else. >>98399923Once let a guy have Ink-Treader in the command zone. Never fucking again.
>>98398967Because stax is a very unpopular playstyle as basically every card game has demonstrated. I won't get too into the weeds of it here but the problem was that even if someone wanted to play Artifact "nice", basically all the core game mechanics pushed gameplay towards some form of resource starvation that forces players to make decisions on which turns they're going to pass over to save resources for later. This flies in the face of common wisdom for how basically every other card game was developed where they try to minimize the number of turns a player will pass without taking any actions. Artifact was designed around the assumption this made the game more skilled/engaging when the reality was the opposite for the majority of players. Ironically, despite how many keywords and technical info pieces were put on the cards, the core gameplay mechanics gave much less tangible feedback so it was very hard for a lot of players to actually locate mistakes that led to undesirable gamestates, of which there were many.Pretty much up until Gabe Newell had his big crashout in the office (story for another time), there was this super arrogant assumption that the game's learning curve could be a brick wall, but players would love it once they mastered it (note: nobody actually reached this point in playtesting during real games). However the end result was a game that was absolutely miserable to play and gave most players no incentive to stick with it.
>>98396517I play Obeka with Jasper Flint in the 99. She's fun and unique, but you have to have a way to safely do player damage with her. But once you have a few upkeep effects running, it can be devastating.
>>98397309It doesn't matter much, since he kills mostly by commander damage anyway. If you can get him out early enough to not be stopped, he escalates really fast. Add a bit of equipment and he's pretty much unstoppable.

The assumption for Artifact was that they would be successful by capturing all of the MtG audience as long as they were better than MTGO which was setting the lowest bar of all time for themselves when even WotC didn't think MTGO was a good bar when they made Arena.

Low power players, such as yourself, are paradoxically focused on rules that dont make sense at a conceptual level, then build byzantine retard fortresses to be insulated from criticism. You said it yourself, your friend isnt playing a top tier deck. It's not even "technically" cedh. You are an exact mirror reflection, someone missing the forest through the trees, but the difference is he is trying to complete the objectives of the game, and you are trying to schmooze for internet brownie points. You stopped inviting your friend, someone you like, because he didnt kiss your ass about how you prefer to play calvinball.Do as you must, but feel bad for being foolish if you're going to feel bad at all. You'd expect better if the situation was reversed.
>>98401142Sucks to be a right winger desu. I'll probably enjoy the set

>>98401142... which one?
>>98401497When the trough fills will slop the pigs will eat, yes.
>>98401480Thank god me and my friends are all sadistic power gaming assholes with a chip on our shoulder.1 keeps bragging how he obliterates children in games. The other works in HR.I myself am only held back by a thin layer of selfpreservation.
>>98401513What?
>>98401516That's the thing, I'm sure you wouldnt give a fuck what someone else was playing. If someone really wanted to wander up with some derped deck with a 7cmc average, you'd let them, and if they enjoyed the deck beyond the merits of the game, they'd enjoy it too.It only gets weird when people want to win, but dont want to try. Or when people who suck want to win but cant do it in a conventional way, or refuse to adapt to strategies that best them. And those are exclusively lower power players.
Enchanting Man 3BLegendary Creature - Human WarlockWhenever you play a spell that targets an opponent, you may copy that spell for each other opponent it could target.WUBRG: Return target aura from your graveyard to the battlefield.3/4
>>98401480Not at all what I said. I break out my high power Aminatou deck to put him in place when necessary. I'm just not an autistic freak who thinks everyone needs to like trains as much as me. It's exactly inflexibility I'm identifying as a problem.
>>98401542they will print some dumb shit like this eventually
>>98401545So, if you can beat him whenever you want, arent you the issue here? Everyone does need to like trains as much as you do, but you havent diagnosed that. To beat someone you need to try your best, particularly when they best you. If that person is always sandbagging, that shit is disrespectful, because even your sandbagging will be more calibrated. They do not get the chance to best you. And this is a fundamental concept of all games, to attempt to win.So, this person you like is being disrespected. They are not allowed to attempt to win. All the resources online direct them to that if that's their objective. You can reverse engineer how to win if you work. You cant reverse engineer the whims of people who do not communicate clearly, or are lying to themselves. If winning didnt matter, you wouldnt have needed to say you were better. Since it does, your friend is right.
>>98401359no actually you can't, roaming throne does not work with delayed or reflexive triggers. I just learned this the other day

So so far with the Hobbit>LotR reprints >more cards for a bunch of already oversupported deck types>gimmick set tribalDo we really need a dozen plus sets a year when every one is the same goddamn shit?

Go back in time and punch a babyEnchantment UubAs this enchantment enters, pick a number between 1 and 5. Each opponent exiles cards from the top of their library until they exile a card with that mana value. If a player would take an extra turn, each of that players’ opponents lose half their life rounded up instead.
>>98401713Go Back In Time And Punch A BabyBUGInstantExile target creature, and that player creates a white 0/1 baby creature token with "when this creature dies, add BUG" Target creature you control fights another target creature."Oh shit, you fucking what?" -Famous last words.
You Are a Gay Retard.1BSorcery.Anyone opponent with a commander on the battlefield or in the command zone that is from an Universes Beyond set loses the game. You may cast You Are a Gay Retard from exile, your graveyard, or from your library at instant speed if you pay life equal to your current total life total minus 1.
>>98401761Go Back In Time And Punch A BabyBRSORCERYExile target player and flip a coin. If the result is heads, return that player as a baby, otherwise that player returns as hitler. Until end of turn, you are legally allowed to punch each infant player once.
>>98401782>deflecting swats to the caster and becomes hitler
>>98401770You are double gay, and double retarded4UInstantAt the end of the turn you lose the game. Each player reveals their hand, and you may search their library and graveyard. If a player has any card with a name different than the first printing in the oracle text, or a copyright symbol from a company that isnt wizards of the coast, that player takes 9 infect damage, has their life total set to one, discards their hand, shuffles their each permanent thet control into their library, shuffles their graveyard into their library, then exiles their library and gains a dumbass emblem with "this player cannot lose the game".
I made a Thoracle player lose the game with this the other day.
>>98401851Hard to believe they didn't have a counterspell in hand.
>>98401857Nobody expects to lose to two Plains.

>>98401879I like EL more since it can be a Dawn's Truce if necessary. More flexible. AG is better at that specific role though, yes.
how good is search for tomorrow?I guess if you have it on your starting hand its great but if you draw it later its crap. do you guys run it or rather play one of the other ramp spells?
>>98401142Can you post this in english please, saar?
>>98401931It's fine in any deck that is begrudgingly okay paying the full rate for it (i.e., you want to ramp into your 5cmc commander by turn 4). Also notable that the land enters untapped which can be an okay consolation prize.
>>98401879T: Add one mana of any mana to your mana pool. Counter target spell.

>deck pops off early and builds a dominant board of big creatures>snipe a guy's u/w voltron commander twice>he gets annoyed>complains about my board, says his deck can't handle it>point out none of my stuff has haste and you can just play a board wipe to set me back to the stone age>"I don't RUN board wipes">reveals he had 2 counterspells he didn't use on me earlier in the game>doesn't want to switch decks for a game 2 because he's so upset>pod disbands???
>>98401119Based. Fuck UB.
>>98401671Am I missing something. From what I understood, you still get to trigger the ability an additional time, you just don't get the "if you do" part (the delayed trigger) triggering an additional additional additional time because the teiggered ability ia creating the delayed trigger ability, not the creature-- but you still should get the delayed trigger off the initial additional trigger because the triggered ability that's triggering an additional time is creating its own delayed trigger. So from what I can see, yes it works as it intuitively would, just not as a person that inderstand delayed triggers within triggered abilities thinks it might work.
>>98401694But the triggerwd ability creates the delated triggerwd ability, so you would still get the delayed triggered ability, just no mare additional times, yes?
