My friend is sperging out at me to start with an Iwata but just the brush alone costs as much as the avanti set, of which like 80% of the cost is loaded into the compressor. >>98412689I started airbrushing with a $45 usb-chargable compressor airbrush from Hobby Lobby, it gave fine results for priming (primer is harder to clean out though) and basecoats.IME the big difference in cost on airbrushes is in cleaning the airbrush after painting; compressed air pushing liquid particles isn't very hard to achieve, it's an incredibly simple and mature technology with little room to expand. The more expensive ones are easier to clean, need cleaned less, and will last longer before irreparable wear occurs (and have more available replacement parts for when that happens so you don't have to buy a whole new one).

I just started playing and still trying to figure out what a priority target or good opening turn might look like.My friend is using Dark Angels. He's got terminators, some other marines, a dreadnaught, and Azrael. I've got an Astra Militarum list with a basilisk and two scout sentinels, then Cadian infantry among other shit.Reading datasheets, it looks like Dark Angels (space marines in general?) want to get in melee range ASAP. I think the dreadnaught, if I remember right, also has the range to hit me from where it's at. My initial positioning could probably have been better, since I opted to spread out across my deployment, then moved sentinels and another scout unit up pre-movement. Right now, I'm thinking of putting bodies around the basilisk so it can pepper "softer" units and taking out the dreadnaut as quickly as I can with lascannons. The only thing i've really been warned about is being careful of "deepstrike" which I haven't looked at yet, but basically the feeling I get is that I want to screen with infantry for my officer and the basilisk and punish my opponent approaching them.Also willing to take any advice on if I should stick with astra militarum or select a different army. I haven't bought into any physical models yet since I wanted to learn before spending money.
