The extent to which ork's belief alters reality has changed over the years and is hotly debated among the fanbase. In some version, it's not actually that magical, and things must operate normally to some basic degree, and ork's just think it should work better than it really does, so they can squeeze some extra out of it. For example, you need a functioning engine with fuel and proper exhaust and rotation, but if you paint it red, it actually becomes 2% more efficient, sort of magically. Or, in other versions of the story, even just a vague idea of how things work is enough, and that makes the car drive. So they know engines are made of metal, and they know they make noise and exhaust, and they know engines have moving parts, so ANY machine that fits these vague criteria will work in a vehicle and make it go. When really the rotary belts aren't even connected and the exhaust is just going straight out the back of the combustion engine and not even through anything.So let's say a group of orks all watch one of them load a firearm. They all know it's loaded, they all watched it happen, and it is factually loaded.The ork with the gun goes behind a wall while the others are distracted by the battle and accidentally fires the weapon, but he doesn't notice because there were loud battle sounds, it was an accidental discharge that even he didn't notice.So now, the gun is empty, but all 10 orks think it's loaded. They all watched it be loaded, they are all universally confident that the weapon is loaded. But it's not, it was accidentally discharged.Will the weapon fire when he pulls the trigger in the upcoming battle?

Marines are really strong right now though. They're among the better half of armies and probably even near the top. The current rules generally favor them and don't really hurt them, even the transport changes are favorable to them. They have powercrept the identities of multiple other factions and they have various things that are insane the more you think about them like Chaplains and the points cost of gravis armor in general.Marines are always strong, they always have a win rate that tiptoes the upper line of what gw considers ok (which is about 55%). They're always popular because they never feel bad to play and they're always at least solid if not above average.
They should change the statline for psychic weapons, instead of BS they have a PS (Pysker Skill) stat. That way there isn't a hit roll, psychic attacks auto-hit, and modifiers to BS don't have an effect. But old rules which used to affect the hit roll of psychic attacks can instead affect the PS roll/skill

Did we Xenos players get the short end of the stick? I bought and started painting some space marines for the first time but I normally put together and paint necrons. Space Marines are so simple to put together and with seemingly more space to paint and do cool things. When I paint necrons, it feels like they have like 75 percent of the plastic that space marines use. With fewer details and the details that are there are fucking weird. The Necron Immortal has been cursed with the "shoulder crevice" for god knows how long. Same with the immortal gun cable weirdness. I have seen people GIVE UP on painting the Cryptek that is like jumping off a scarab or whatever. Geomancer apparently filters people too. All sculpting putties behave slightly different from one another, green stuff has this rubberyness to it that makes it excell at organic shapes but more difficult at sharp edges. Milliput is kinda the opposite, it’s likes ceramic like so getting a smooth curve is hard but sanding a sharp flat edge is easy. It all just takes practice and it won’t really matter what putty you start with.Here is an example of some tubes I sculpted with milliput, probably would have been better to use green stuff but I am more comfortable with milliput.

Indirect Fire is not bad. People were talking like they ruined it but you fire normally if you can see the enemy unit, and then you hit on 4's if an ally unit can see the enemy unit for you. You only hit on 6's if neither you nor any other friendly unit can see the enemy, which you can just avoid ever doing that. Additionally, anything that removes cover from the enemy unit, like a Hellhound or an Immolator, removes cover period, which means the indirect ire rules cover too.All indirect fire does is allow you the flexibility to fire indirectly if the situation calls for it. You can always just shoot normally, which people seem to forget. I'm using Basilisks and Exorcists in my lists happily.
