Can anyone think of some neat kitbash ideas to make the models feel more unique? I've got a Goff rokkerboy I never painted laying around that I cpuld mix up with the weirdboy to make a weirdrokker playing a facemelting guitar solo, but I could use some ideas for the dakkarig, wartrakk, and various special units like bigboss and painboy

The rapid fire keyword is supposed to encourage getting closer with shooting units, but GW doesn't put rapid fire on many anti-armor weapons so we're back to square 1 of camping max range and slugging it out because of armorspam, both on tanks and infantry.
The only rapid fire guns I can think of with any amount of anti-armor are autocannons, and they're not exactly good in that role vs. their alternatives (lascannons, mostly).

this, except no primarchs at all. they belong in 30k. adding primarchs into 40k ruins the setting, because what was supposed to be read as mythologised, and deified history is now just real. no one was mistaken, no one aggrandised or lied or was so overcome with zealotry that they fudged any documents regarding the primarchs and the heresy into religious dogma. it was just all real. theres no room for doubt and it ruins 40k

Let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater. The problem is that GW has made rare/unique stuff normal.
There's a reason why special characters needed approval of all players.
There's a reason why apocalypse was a separate way of playing.

It's also counter-productive, since you need to nerf these powerful units for them to work, even in 2k games.
It was always better to keep them special.

If the guy on the other side of the table isn't a fun-hating tourneyfag, he'll let you use a generic unit of equal status as a proxy for said op named epic hero.
I've played a generic Cadian Castellan (or the guy who comes in the Baneblade kit) using Ursula Creed's unit card for my homebrew regiment in quite a few games, no one complains about it because we're both playing /ourdudes/ and doing this shit.
Find opponents who play the game the way you do. If you live in ass-fuck nowhere it's harder of course, but never impossible.

What if instead of having to muck about with LGS discords and facebook groups and weird in-the-moment pickup games, there was an app like grindr but for 40k? Everyone is anonymous, you can post your minis to advertise, and you get to chat with someone first and tell them what kind of player you are before agreeing to play a game with them. It could even include location distance so you know who is in town and who is probably in the next town over, or you could search a location you're going to visit soon to see who's available so you can chat people up for games.

You could also use it to have gay sex, of course.
>>
starcannons should have the assault keyword to give players a reason to bring them over shuriken cannons and bright lances.

>>98459722
the war walker model is honestly fine, only shit part is the pilot screen part not always lining up perfectly with its mounting point. the midhammer version also comes with weapon bits that are slightly different from the the modern bits, but it shouldn't be an issue if you have other kits that come with bright lances and whatnot.

>>
>>98459995
heavily depends on the army, Genestealers for example cannot make a decent aberrant focused build right now, and it will still require a bunch of expensive neophytes or characters because those are the 1DP detachments you can mix with biosantic.

>>98460060
I'm mainly asking for admech, which if memory serves has the worst PPD ratio of any army. But I'm also just generally curious about how easy it is to make good elite/low model count lists for armies as a whole.
>>
>>98460080
Admech will just break your heart. I spent years of 10th and into 11th to try to make a decent PPD list and it broke me.
>>
>>98460121
I've looked through maybe a dozen of their units on wahapedia and a 32mm base with a single shrub probably has a better PPD than most of the units I saw.
>>

>>
>>98460138
The worst part is that the army feels so miserable to play, even if by some miracle you stumble across a list that will not break the bank. There's a couple very clearly "Flash Gordon/1920s-50s Popular Science covers" units in the AdMech roster (Kastelans, Skorpius, flyers sans their bat wings) that clash with the "gritty mad science" vibe of the rest of the roster. Some units are overly "clean" and rounded, the rest are very sharp and seem "grimy" for lack of better terms.

you need a minimum soul size to have psychic powers which t'au don't reach, but they are not nulls, or they'd be immune to daemons, which they are not, as they've already fought against daemons before.

there was a time where gw was planning a primaris-like reinvention of the eldar, among other developments*, with ynnari as the unifying keystone
that plan was then discarded shortly after the very first steps for more conservative updates of the eldar model lines
but gw had already written pretty much all major eldar characters as supporting the ynnari one way or another, but now they're no longer needed as a centralising thing and are being pushed into a corner as a niche option for an eldar-soup option rather than the new standard for all eldar
as a result all the characters that had some kind of involvement with them are getting written making a step back, so each of them better sits centrally in their respective spots instead of being satellites to the ynnari

it obviously depends on the strength of the null but more like daemons have more trouble staying manifested the more and stronger nulls are around. Fireballs will fade, illusions will be dispelled, daemons will become weaker or outright vanish when getting close, etc.

Depends on how much of a null or a blank they are, its like anti-psycher levels. Operates on the same handwavey as powerful as the plot demands as psycher tiers.
iirc blanks are just less succeptable to warp stuff, where are nulls are actual holes in the the warp that effect the areas around them and can be effected by various acheotech like the fancy hat Culexus have or pariahs.
Bequin was hard for a very powerful daemonhost to effect as directly but not impossible, Ravenor's blank had a on/off switch that effect range and how shitty it was to be around him. Tau blankness is probably a bit different too, I forget which codex has allusions to them being genetically modified to be so.

I've watched the worst kind of person, who are obviously new, on both ends of the political spectrum saying the stupidest shit about 40k and I'm sad it will only increase as time goes on.

But as with dnd, you have your group that you already play with, and you can mostly pretend the locusts don't exist. The rules changes and art/flavor/aesthetic catering to these new low-quality people that will come from the developer, but maybe we'll get lucky and there won't be as much, compared to stuff like pathfinder, dnd, and mtg, who have all bent over backwards to change their setting and aesthetic to suit a small minority of people who aren't even longtime fans. Maybe we'll be...the exception. You can always hope.

Back in earlier editions - generally pre-5th if memory serves, named characters were not an essential and end all, be all part of an army. My bro brought Kharn every game we played and he mostly just killed his own allies. It was great! A few guys locally had stuff like Dante and Azrael, but it was never oppressive. Abaddon being locked to 2000 or higher point armies was great, too. I think Nightbringer and Deceiver were the biggest offenders and most Necron players just used a Lord or Destroyer Lord.

The simple fact that the way special characters were (in general) balanced to be intentionally worse for their points meant that they only got taken when the player liked the character, rather than showing up in every single list. I said “in general”. The worst shit that ever happened to me was probably in 4th ed, when my buddy figured out that if you put tyberus in a drop pod you could turn 1 drop in and cast fear of the dark. His special rule doubled spell ranges, turning it into a 48” wide circle of “all your units must take a leadership at -2”. So my hole army (tau) has to take a test on either a 5 or a 6, which leads to about half my army fleeing off the table before I get to do anything.

eh, I don't really like herohammer particularly either. And I play SoB, where Morvenn Vahl is the glue holding the entire book together. You almost never see a list without her. She is some of the only reliable anti-tank the book has, and she's also one of the only actually strong units in general. Funny she costs 410 points.

But I also don't really care that much, since taking "Morvenn Vahl" is not actually functionally different from taking "Canoness in Paragon Armor". We're complaining about the name at the end of the day, which doesn't really matter since you have always been able to paint your dudes however you want and name them whatever you want. My Morvenn Vahl is actually Susan, who has a really nice paragon suit. It's not a power level thing, since there are named characters that suck, and there are unnamed characters that are so strong they had to get nerfed recently like librarians and lieutenant with combiweapon.

I think what people are really complaining about is a writing thing. The setting itself is becoming more about what certain named characters like Titus and Yvrainne or whoever. Some people would prefer to zoom out and look at large scale factions, rather than it being a story of certain individuals. You hear the common complaint that if gw tends to write about certain characters a lot, it can feel silly when you realize the same few people are traveling millions of lightyears back and forth across the galaxy constantly in order to appear in various events.

It's an unconventional army to play. Most of the time it comes down to either your opponent brought enough anti-tank/monster and lmao's you in 3 turns, or they didn't. It's a little awkward because a lot of people in a pick-up game night would prefer not to fight Knights because of the above, but at the same time if someone knows they're fighting knights they're just going to pack a lot of anti-tank and leave it up to you to figure out how to make a game out of it. Even if you're not trying to be competitive, there's no point bringing units that don't have a use against Knights because they'll just be food.

>you don't even have Captain Smashfucker anymore
The only thing stopping you from playing your OC Captain Smashfucker as a proxy for named character number 14 that has "close enough" weapons to what is on your model is your and your opponents' autism at what is written on the datasheet in the name section. If it bothers you to proxy so you can play /yourdudes/, that's not a game issue.
James Workshop isn't going to send hitmen with hammers to smash your models if you don't play the "correct" as-intended-by-GW way with "correct" models.
>>98461169
This is doubly an issue for Sisters because their only anti-tank options with more than 12" of range are the Castigator, which is only s10 in a world where most tanks you'd fight are t11 (Russ variants) or above (Land Raiders, etc) or the Retributor Squad with multi-meltas (18" range), and then you have to consider their squishiness as well.
Sisters just don't have much anti-armor and it's really painful right now in a lot of matchups.

Proxying a named character was a recommendation back in older editions, but at the same time there were also so many options for generics that it was pretty silly to do. Now it feels like an insult to suggest. "Just run Chapter Master Steve using Guilliman's rules!" Generic leaders should get customization and wargear options back!
>>
>>98461071
I think it’s most about gameplay scale creep than anything else. No one gave a shit when Calgar was used back in the day cause he was basically just any other chapter master with two power fist. Anyone could field a mimicry if they wanted. But now that primarchs are out of the bag running around you table instead of locked away in the artwork and myths where they belong that we start to see it really break the back of the game. It’s really not much different to when they put flyers in the game, they were so broken they showed up every single time and the only option was to bring your own too.

>if you don't play the "correct" as-intended-by-GW way with "correct" models
So you say this but that is actually how it is becoming more and more. There has been an immense tone shift in proxies over the last 5 years, and James is the one who sets the status quo like it or not. It all started when they purged the game of non-model having content, but they have been reaffirming this behavior ever since with their split datasheets “is a specific and exact model” and what not. Combine that with their drive to bring e-sportsy style tournament play and tcg style rules as the face and focus of the game, and the attraction of players who reaffirm this status quo has ballooned.

>>
>>98461182
You won't find them in any official models, so try third party proxies.
Most Valhallan proxies go "las-PPSh" or "las-Thompson" instead of las-AK, unfortunately, so that's not a good place to start looking.
Victoria Miniatures' "Highland Moss Guard" has autoguns literally called AKs in the listing. A full box of 10 of them is the same price as a real GW guard infantry box though.
That's probably the best you'll get.
>>98461194
Fair enough on options. I give the proxy suggestion as it being the only "current rules" way to still do it, not as what I personally want. I wish "chapter master" was the unit card and you got a selection of weapons from there too, but that's not the world we live in. If the guy on the other side of the table is willing to homebrew rules with you, you can do it my way though, and I have done so a few times.
>>98461244
So instead of just sitting here complaining about it fruitlessly on a basket-weaving forum, why don't you try to talk about this with your friends who you play the game with? Yes it sucks that GW is making things more concrete and defined instead of favoring you bringing /yourdudes/, but that doesn't mean you CAN'T play /yourdudes/ with homebrew rules that suit you. You just have to find others (preferably near you so you can actually play with them) who are likeminded. Yes they are rarer than the "esports" players are, but it's not "literally everyone but (you) is an 'esports 40k' guy" either.

Sure but let’s not downplay the importance of being a squeaky wheel. I have my own homebrew system that me and my childhood friends play with, but sadly the friends I made later on in life though the lgs are nationally ranked tournament winners. The behavior at the store is very much affected by what is thought of as “official”. So I speak from a position of experience as someone who is directly affected by James’s change in tune over the last decade. The more recent position of high regard GW places on matched play and balancing from tournament results establishes that that is the way the game is meant to be played and sets the status quo.
tldr everyone here is a netlisting waacfag who “plays by intent”.

We’ve been there for a while bro, but getting 2000 points of models and painting them is a hurdle the normies won’t cross. Magic the gathering is just buying cards, and putting them in plastic sleeves, DND is just filling out a stat sheet and rolling dice.
We have magic people that show up to play on the Warhammer day at my game store every week, even though they have their own day, and want to come talk to us about Warhammer every time. Big whoop. I don’t read gay novels, and they don’t play the game.
I’ve sat there with someone who’s never held a paintbrush telling me about the lore of my models, I don’t care, they don’t play the game, that’s still a hard line yet uncrossed.

But that guy who "reads" (listens to audiobooks while doing something else so he barely even pays attention) the lore is just as much of a fan as you are, according to himself, GW and """the community,""" no matter how inorganic that "community" is.
Star Wars, Halo, etc being variably-good-to-tolerable in the pasta was a big shield for 40k unironically, by keeping the more casual sci-fi "nerds" (dudebros, consoomers and so on) distracted. The decline of other franchises is a non-zero of why 40k is where it is right now.

I am unfamiliar with Ork units and not sure what boxes have what for that specific kill team.
>>
>>98461801
Ork Kommando as a kit still exists exactly as it was, just no longer explicitly branded for the Kill Team game. Currently listed as unavailable on the website, but it will return, a lot of Ork product is in that state because they do repackaging whenever an army gets a rules update each edition, which Orks are next up for. As far as its playability in Kill Team, I haven't a clue.

Ah. I see. Thank you. Do you think that is the case with other factions as well that rotate out of kill team? Like I hear the chaos legionaries are cycling out also. Will its special units end up in a box? For example, I think those guys have a unique two handed chain axe unit.
>>
>>98461844
It depends on the Kill Team. If they are a unit that previously already existed in 40k and used Kill Team as a vehicle to release an updated kit (such as Kommandos and Wreckas/Tankbustas), they are almost certainly here to stay as a kit for 40k bare minimum. Some more oddball teams, like Navy Breachers or Arbites Squads, *technically* are supported in 40k as well but effectively didn't exist in 40k as fieldable units prior to their Kill Team release, and it may be that those eventually no longer get rules support in 40k (but there technically is no precedent for this yet).

Orkz in 40K run the gamut from a regional nuisance on some worlds, to apocalyptic marauders. Most of the time they have a hard time maintaining technology if they didn’t have it on arrival they usually need to steal it from another species before Mekz can really start getting their juices flowing. Once they get their own industrial base they’ll eventually work towards a waaagh though.

The Hippogriff is the most "real life" guard vehicle they've made, it takes all its design language from real WW2/early cold war armored cars like the Sd. Kfz. 234 (Puma), the Saladin (what the other anon posted) or the T17 "Deerhound." The Hippogriff is mostly a Saladin but it takes a LOT from the Puma with the hull's rear.
>t. Bolt Action player

>light tank
Armored cars and light tanks became the same thing by the end of WW2 for the most part, especially in the modern day. I don't see what role a dedicated light tank could have in the current guard roster beyond just being a reskin of the Hippogriff or "Chimera but now it can't transport," which is what happened historically too; why have light tanks when armored cars are better at scouting/navigating in rough terrain and heavier tanks are better at the "being a tank" thing? This is a rhetorical, I'm not asking for a real answer.

That's because GW doesn't bother to give xenos subfactions much distinction outside of fluff and color schemes. You have to modify the models yourself to make them more distinct, or run a fluff-accurate list. Like a snakebitez army should have a lot of sniggas and/or as many vehicles kitbashed into warbeasts stolen from the WHF/AoS range as possible.

Thin your paints more in the future unless you were going for that "cast metal" look on the entire model. It's a neat look on the gray panels of the armor to sell the "iron" thing, but it makes the gun and the caution striped areas look like a cheap cast tin toy.
Maybe you want that too so it looks more like the original metal models, I don't know.

Got my night lord all posed up. What's a space marine box that has a good "getting stabbed in the back" pose? Bonus points if blood angels can run that unit.
I'm thinking of doing a scout because they have pretty low-profile power packs and that's the type of victim that a night lord would have a field day with.

Assault marine legs could work well to convey the guy getting startled by the stab. The marine being firstborn will also make it easier to see your NL guy since he'll be bigger. Just have the assault marine have a normal backpack.
>>
Just noticed something weird after playing world of tanks. IRL, weapons capable of killing tanks don't really shave off armor from targets or whatever, they just penetrate the armor and depending on where it hits, it can result in knocking out the vehicle (it could hit something like the ammo and/or fuel and blow up the tank, or kill the crew, or injure the crew, or kill one guy, or take out the gun, or take out the tracks, etc etc). There's no wounding a tank, you basically either penetrate it and kill it in one shot, or tmit bounces off and you try again. It either dies, or it doesn't.

Is there a balancing reason that GW hasn't implemented this into 40k? I mean, I guess it makes sense to stack wounds on carnifexes and bleed the thing to death, but a leman russ seems like it'd work more like a tank. Also, it'd make sense if AT weapons did the same to a carnifex, like a single penetrating shot going deep enough to disembowel it, or blow up its heart(s), or a headshot from a battle cannon shaving the thing's head off, killing it with a single lucky hit without having to wound it first. Would make for some cool narrative moments, not sure if balanced though

Newgen... Things used to work like that. There used to be glancing and penetrating hits, which would then roll on further vehicle mishap tables to determine various effects. You could kill the driver making the model stationary for the rest of the game, you could disarm it by destroying weapons, rattle the crew around etc. All of this was deemed "too clunky" and streamlined down to the vehicles now having wounds system we have today. Blame your generation, zoomzoom

Yriel has literally never ever liked the Ynnari, even before Yvraine and the Fracturing of Biel-Tan he thought the Iyanden proto Ynnari deathcult was cringe as fuck.

During the Fracture of Biel-Tan he gets rezzed by Yvraine after the spear of twilight finally kills him. This was at the height of the Ynnari revamp plan and even in that book he only gets one line total, which has nothing to do with the Ynnari.

After the plan was abandoned Yriel was allowed to hate the Ynnari again.

Now that you mention assault guys I wonder if I could convert a blood claw into a blood angel somehow. I've been thinking about getting that box and turning picrel into a marines malevolent. Probably not, but it'd be a nice way to stretch that box out.

little bit of green stuff could turn that diamond on the chest into a tear, then it's just a matter of if you have wing decals or if you want to make a whole set of wings.

I think the absence of raised surfaces in general is the strength of the HH kits, it's standard issue armor with very few chapter-specific frills.
>>
>>98462269
Yeah, thats how 40k vehicles worked for years, they changed it because it was impossible to balance both vehicles and monstrous creatures (which work more like post 8th ed vehicles) one was always far stronger than the other.

>>
>>98462305
I'm being a little disingenuous blaming you zedders tbqh, my gen the millenials were actually the driving force. Back in the 80s/90s a lot of tabletop games relied heavily on dice. In Mordheim/Necromunda (the good one)/Blood Bowl, you could have a star dude veteran of hours of gameplay, many missions, just have a string of bad rolls and die, or be crippled in a way that they may as well be dead (eg. a dude with 2hander skills in Mordheim losing an arm, or a -1 Strength on a blitzer in BB). Older gens loved the chaos and rolled with it, but these games also had a reputation for being harsh/unforgiving and people were warned away if they couldn't cop it on the chin. Cue my generation, plenty of whom wanted to play dicerollan games but hated this level of RNG "controlling" said game, I've seen a lot of people cry about shit like this yes.

The other factor was that the 40K rulebooks at the time were like 50% tables. When you resolved an attack, you consulted a table to figure out what to roll to hit dependent on the unit's WS/BS. You then consulted another table comparing strength against toughness that gave you your wound roll. If it was a vehicle you then considered if it was glancing/penetrating and rolled on ANOTHER table. Most of us had the tables somewhat memorised/there was a formula to it, but again people who had trouble remembering the tables/formula pattern complained, and tables were steadily cut out of the game. Now we have vehicles with wounds
>>
>>98462331
A shrimple way to ease some complexity back in is to do vehicle faces, but make the number the toughness, not armor values. Less table-checking, but still allows the fun of older editions without major rules changes.
>>
>>98462331
>Most of us had the tables somewhat memorised/there was a formula to it, but again people who had trouble remembering the tables/formula pattern complained

so the retarded people won?
>>
>>98462341
Oh yeah, I didn't even get to vehicle facings. That could be something to reintroduce, but it'll rehash all the arguments about which facing applies. Modern 40K is all about streamlining gameplay to the detriment of everything else
>>
>>98462308
wouldn't it have made more sense to make the creatures more like tanks instead of making the tanks more like the creatures
>>
>>98462355
In modern 40k, it'd just be the toe-in part, so it'd be quite simple to see which value applies
>>
>>98462359
NTA but making the tanks more like the creatures simplified the rules and therefore made it easier to math out "balance" for stuff like point values so it was what was gone with.
>>
>>98462359
narratively and balance-wise, yeah, probably. see smaug's death where he gets one-shotted due to a weak point in his armor, that makes the most sense for killing creatures that are "like tanks" (re: carnifexes). Problem is, the fix of making tanks more like monstrous creatures not only solves the same problem, but is EASIER to balance (less reliance on random rolls) and EASIER for new players to grasp (they're effectively big infantry models), which makes more sense from a streamlining perspective. Was something lost narratively? Yes, but the game plays faster now and tanks/monstrous creatures are easier to balance than before.

You set up a colony world somewhere juust on the other side of 30k from right now and the ledgers on it get lost just about when the big bang happens. Colony's only half built so, persean sector style, most of what's left to fend for themselves are construction crews and other non-technical roles. Oh, and you have a feral ork problem to deal with.

Fast forward to a couple hundred years ago. The construction workers have mostly kettled themselves up in favorable geographic features, leaving the orks to fight among themselves, defending their chokepoints with spear and bow and what crude firearms they have been able to keep working. Impregnable (to the orks) walls are kept up with with increasingly difficult to maintain construction equipment. Their shamans are the oshamen, their fetishes and baubles of good doing colorful zip ties and lock out locks; they worship at the altar of the machine gods that keep them safe at night. FHI, Deere, Kamatsu and CAT.

A marauding rogue trader nearly has a heart attack reading the morning scans because this world is relatively resource rich - the reason it was originally colonized - and there are a bunch of still buried manufactorums around ripe for the pickings. He tries to do the rogue trader thing and keep the world as his personal fiefdom but the admech gets a whiff of that there archaeotech, and the scrapping gets to bad enough that the higher order imperium just kicks off a general colonization push to burn out the majority of the orks and get the ball on the whole planet rolling. Admech get their bits, rogue trader gets a cut, tribals get an admech pat on the head for being confused but having the right spirit.

They have a bundle, both for 300, and I doubt gw will be better than that so I went ahead and ordered it. I'll post about it when it arrives.

I've been excited to finally get to playing and this is the final step. Got my armies painted, learned the rules cover to cover, made a bunch of lists, been watching battle reports to learn, and now when this arrives I'm finally ready. I don't live near a store so my first few games will be me controlling two armies but eventually when I grasp the rules and the game I'll drive the few hours to the closest store when they have an event day or something.

Bodied that freak
>>
>>98462874
So you end up with a dispersed frontier world that relies mostly upon local settler levies to deal with its endemic ork issues. The tribals intermingle readily and are very grateful to the big man in the sky for more or less opening up the rest of the planet for their use. When the orks reach critical mass, beyond what local posses and their mounted texas ranger leaders can deal with, you have the dragoons. Air mobile grenadiers dressed in anachronistically scifi carapace (30k vintage - one of the legacy factories that has been successfully restarted), wielding somewhat more advanced lasguns, disembarking from valks to smash the thickest encampments and burn out the fungus reserves they're protecting.

It was an Only War game, and I goofed up understanding the regiment creation rules, so my players started the game with both the funny advanced lasgun and best quality carapace. We still had a lot of fun, and now I want to bring them to the tabletop.

There's other regiments around but these are the hardest to model. The planet tithes two distinct kinds of regiments - the tribals in their ancient construction helmets, wielding spears and carrying revolvers and shotguns, shepherded into battle by high vis vest festooned oshamen with stud finders on staffs, and the independent minded diet stormtrooper dragoons jumping out of valkries to bathe the battlefield in volleys of grenades and promethium.

Is it really 40k? No, it's very 40k lite. But we had fun. And I want to have more fun with it.

NTA but while I've never really had a bone to pick with AoS I still think WHF got done real dirty and my heart goes out to em. And while I've no real interest in AoS there's definitely been a lot of kitbash potential with some of their models. I still want to try my hand at the oh-so-original idea of turning one of the blanket ghosts into a techpriest, I'm just waiting for some inspiration to strike while I work through my backlog.

Primaris isn't going away and all of the new sculpts they've shown so far have their aesthetics match that of the old models and models in the Armageddon box, in the sense of mixed armour parts and helmet variations. Hasn't he been palling about with Ghaz lately? Armageddon would be a good time to bring him in if that's the case.

just chop off the plumes of sodality boxes, they look worse with them and they barely have a resting spot on the models if at all
>>
>>98463178
which one? m assuming you're talking about ratfag
>>
>>98463766
The claws make them look dangerously close to mini-Emperors
>>
>>98463771
The lack of plumes isn't the only issue, the entire upper body looks weird. Every proportion and shape is wrong.
>>98463773
That too. I don't mind the claws themselves but the fist looks just as tiny as the new cataphractii which is something I just don't get. Power fists are supposed to be huge.

What can I do to make a metallic colour look shiny?

Love painting Necrons
You do one colour for anywhere there's armour plating and half the model is done
