Game 3 I keep a very classic tempoy style hand of Moonshadow 1 fetch 2 wasteland 2 removal. I get Moonshadow down on turn 1, remove his turn 2 Engineer, Wasteland him, remove the Engineer again when he revives it with Formalwear etc. Moonshadow solos the game backed up by disruption.>U Tron - 2-1 - OTPGame 1 he keeps 6 and I present a fast opener of Ritual, Voidwalker, Nethergoyf followed by Thoughtseize and Wasteland. He concedes. Game 2 I'm unable to pressure fast enough and don't see my sideboard cards, and die to Karn Lattice. Game 3 has much more back and forth; he blanks 2 of my Wastelands with Hamlet because I prioritize Dauthi on turn 2, but I get a Sphere down to buy alot of time which he has to animate with Karn then Dismember. For the most part people figure out sets within a week of release because testing and information volume is so much higher. It would be hard to see a repeat of Skullclamp where the consensus is "wow this will really help monowhite find card draw it desperately needs!" and the reality is the card is bonkers busted. Fury is a pretty good example of this where it's easy to see for R&D thought 2-for-1ing yourself for efficient early removal in a color that already has efficient early removal wouldn't be too ridiculous, but it was very clearly identified as overtuned before the set even came out.Additionally it's hard to make a channel discussing new sets because information is so readily ubiquitous for people that search for it. It's hard to justify spending 2 hours discussing all of a set's chaff when most people are only looking for power cards.

And so a lot of players gave up on it rather quickly because they were trying to find an alternative to Standard's T3 wins and instead they got T2 Thoracle'd.And this leads to Ux decks completely dominating the meta since you can set up your wincon on T2 while also having free universal interaction ready in the form of FoW/Daze/Guardianship; it's the most "No fun allowed" format I've ever seen, since the universally correct way to win is just to prevent your opponent from ever resolving a spell in the first place. Shit like Katara and Spiderfuck genuinely just run 40 lands and 60 counters, and usually win purely by exhausting the opponent's patience.And the banlist specifically targets aggro, for whatever reason: people will bitch and moan that le monke is too strong and reliable to exist in the format, but Yuriko does the exact same thing while being supported by the two best colours that also come with free interaction out of the wazoo.
