>A long time ago in a galaxy far,
>far away....

>THE GALAXY HAS BEEN FRACTURED
>The Jedi Order stood on the precipice of greatness and the Galactic Republic was expanding, chartering new worlds with every passing day.
>Without warning, the Hyperspace Disaster tears through known space collapsing the ancient routes the Republic relied upon. The Trymant and Hetzal systems are on the edge of ruin. Calamitous asteroids and debris is inbound to the planets of Hetzal, mandating evacuation on a scale never before thought of. Trymants planets undergoing tremendous ecological change with the sudden loss of their moons.
>Across the galaxy the chaos spreads with emergency powers granted to the Bith Chancellor Taniss Ando, an ambitious politician who now rules with an iron fist significantly expanding the Republic Military and SIS.
>A once moderate separatist movement surges as the senate flounders in emergency, with many worlds seeking to look after their own needs. Rumors abound that some of the separatists even have access to reliable if limited hyperspace travel.
>Mysterious pirates strike from the shadows with impunity, and the Kaminoans as pragmatic as ever have begun selling clone soldiers to every warlord with credits to spare, stoking the fires of conflict galaxy wide.

Thanks anon! I think Locust-Man makes for a compelling hero against Stinger, despite her constantly ending up as a recurring loser in their fights. His humble optimism uplifts those around him, contrasting her spiteful, crab mentality-like negativity that drags others down. Locust-Man may want to see Stinger grow and thrive in a positive light, but Stinger wants nothing more than to see him in the dark, with all his light snuffed out. While many people admire Locust-Man as their friendly neighborhood Locust, Stinger tends to fade into the background of his rogues' gallery (if there is one), making her feel largely irrelevant and that very irrelevance only deepens her inferiority complex and desperate craving for recognition (which Locust-Man abundantly have). It's also an animal themed rivalry which is cool.

“A mom takes care of people, and is someone they can trust and look up to.”

Warm, caring, seemingly omniscient, but a little condescending, all describe 27 year old Maia Ericson. Already a born super, Scarlet Biologics crammed an alien Symbiote matriarch into her for reasons that surely made sense to the executives. Her resulting additional powers give her perhaps the broadest perspective of any super alive, her particular sway over the minds and bodies of everything within a good chunk of the whole State is used, actively or passively, to heal and protect humans, and enhance plants and animals primarily to facilitate the previous. She wishes that incident in the past could be completely forgotten… but knows better.

Her upscale home, surrounded by greenery, is situated close to 3 hospitals, the Super School, and several other choice facilities to optimize passive exposure to her Purification field. At any given moment she's “looking over someone’s shoulder” at most movies and lectures occurring around her (and frequently less entertaining things such as executive meetings), while on the mental lookout for such events as screeching tires, breaking glass, or gunshots - signs someone’s in danger and in need of Durability.

Thanks to an odd quirk of her biology, she's a single mother of one (arguably two), attending the same Super School she administers; this doesn't slow her down much due to her powers and resultant mental juggling skills, but it does shape her internal and external identity. In addition to the role of “principal”, she works with NyxTech and occasionally makes talking head appearances. Her powers complement her inclination away from direct confrontation, allowing a striking degree of influence over situations she's not even nearby for. There's been some talk about her joining Z-Team in a non-combat role, akin to mission control.

“A mother knows what's best for her children and SETS them on the path towards it.”

Cold, imperious, egotistical, yet ultimately benevolent, all describe the Symbiote called REGINA. A born queen of her species, she considers all organic life her rightful subjects - a noteworthy step above “tools”. Perhaps that's why she only felt a smattering of sympathy for her previous, fatally incompatible hosts, though she had learned her keepers were morally bankrupt and told her ideal host as such. Appreciative of Maia's natural acumen, but finding her overt selflessness “immature”, she's deferred to her host's wishes more than either of them initially expected. When they were abducted by another alien race 4 years ago, resulting in the demise of Maia's parents, she pushed her host to put her in charge of their body and powers, to which she agreed. The result was a very quickly subdued alien spacecraft…

And upon its fall to Earth, a similarly quickly subdued NYC, all normal humans bending to her command to “KNEEL”.

The Meta-Human protested, but still grieving her parents, only weakly at first. When the other supers showed up to talk her down (no one really wanted to fight her, funnily enough), Maia's internal resistance mounted. But it was the sight of her terrified daughter that… actually caused REGINA to relent, and willingly relinquish control back to her host. Some civil litigation and a LOT of media chatter later, and things more or less went back to the way they had been.

While she still thinks most humans are “foolish children,” she's grown more fond of them under their combined watch, even admitting that some of the things they do of their own will are gratifying to observe. While very reluctant to admit it, she does also see Maia's daughter as her own.

…She hasn't quite given up on the idea of a benevolent dictatorship, but knows she'd have to be smarter about it next time, even if she'd NEVER frame it in quite that way.

Oh, that was actually aimed at question 3 BUT while we're at it...
Numbers! Timelines! How long has GS been here? Grand Failure was clearly 50 years ago; has she been a recluse that entire time? Basically, what is a 27 year old going to know about her, especially one with eyes everywhere?
...also how far out is Z-Team HQ from NYC?

I've checked by I don't see where your third superpower is coming from.
You also don't have intelligence to unlock Genius as a body trait choice, and then its dubious if Genius does/should allow multiple purchases of Genius powers as minors since the CYOA as designed was self-limiting to 1.

>Now has the go-ahead in the Rentry.
NTA but I don't think you should get a second genius power as a minor unless you picked responsibility(knowledge) on top of regular knowledge. As knowledge description only mentions power in singular. Technically if we rules lawyer the rentry says "You may select multiple Genius powers of Major rank, but only one of Super rank" wouldn't include multiple genius powers of minor rank, but even I am not that nitpicky. I just think that allowing knowledge to give you multiple genius powers at minor level is a bit to op as then someone could get all 4 major power level genius powers at minor level, which I don't think is a good precedent to set.
>>
Greater exchange didn't make sense when I drew it up because she doesn't have 2 major powers to exchange for the super.

Knowledge allows choosing genius powers which as major with minor powers, but the cyoa is designed with only a single genius power allowed but default. While the house rules now say you can choose multiple, its not clear if you can choose multiple via the discounted method. I'd put forward not, as it seems busted.

Oh, damn, now I have to kill myself...
She arrived on Earth at 15, already notorious (alien royalty, exiled after a mass-casualty catastrophe) Nikolai had already normalized “nonhuman superperson exists,” so the scandal was less alien princess! and more why has an exiled teenage WMD been dumped on Earth? She was immediately folded into a super-school, eventually joined the A-Team, and stayed there until 21. Four years later, at 25, the UN personally called her back during the alien invasion. That ended in the Grand Failure.
That was 50 years ago. So Sam has been on Earth for roughly 60 years, and hasn't been meaningfully active in decades since she fucked up big time for the secondf time (30 or 40 years without a real public cape appearance)
For Z-Team HQ, I'd put it far outside NYC, probably north/northwest in a heavily wooded low-density area. Or, well, was there before getting blown the fuck up.
>>
>>98547224
So she got her powers from being a virgin at 75...
>>
>>98546984
The Z-Team and low-power builds have formed their own subgroups and are actively figuring out a pre-game timeline but we haven't really kicked off any plots yet. We're going in a good direction overall though.

Isn't Owen the speedster? He has like speed + time to be ×10 faster
>>
>>98545787
How does inner power work?
>>
>>98547395
Forgot about Owen, yeah. Speed seems to be a case of;

>Owen
>Power Gap
>Radiant
>Power Gap
>Everyone Else
>>
>>98547454
Speed is really just a power multiplier on its own it can't really do a lot. Personally I would just say to buy bullet time it gives you hyper speedster levels of reaction time at the price of just a benefit.
>>
>>98547327
You have to just ignore them or have them always be off screen.

>>98547344
They move too fast for aoe to work, even with precog

I think if you want to really deal with a speedster nullification is the way to do so.
>>
>>98547327
Like how to write them or how to fight against them? Considering that it's comic style speed a lot of the physics are in their favor. The only thing they have a hard time contending with are social problems and anything related to limited resources but then again someone could make up some bullshit about running so fast to go back in time to fix those issues.
>>
>>98547482
That's too much. Bullet Time only speeds up your thoughts, not movement. Having a benefit give you hyper speed level reflexes is dumb
>>
>>98547492
Well yeah, though speed but if you have senses and non-physical movement instantaneously conjured attacks like some psychic, dimensional or elemental. Then you can fight it quite decently.
>>
>>98547488
Writing around them yeah. Normally a speedster completely invalidates any team they are on and needs bending over backwards to have any 'threat' not completely neutered by them existing. Like they can essentially be every where in a city at once and are completely invulnerable to anything that isn't another speedster.
>>
>>98547486
The Aoe is just there to intercept the speedsters attack. If they want to attack you they would need to go trough the AOE. Since it's a precog you can time it exactly at the 2 second mark to hit the speedster.
>>
>>98547488
Physics?
>>
>>98547510
That's not how precog works, you only get the notification you don't have details. By the time you've been warned its entirely possible for them to have struck. But even if you use it as a shield, they dodge and you have to tank your own attack. This doesn't seem like a way to write around them.
>>
>>98547488
Platinum age speedsters are nerfed compared to their comic counterparts their max speed is at 0,1% lightspeed and they need to accelerate to it in 20 s which means they can't do sharp turns at such speed further capping them in urban environments. So they are probably functioning mostly at 1/20 th most of the time so about 15 km/s-45 km/s
>>
>>98547536
To be fair in a realistic setting this would still be magnitudes more than enough to be completely unstoppable, but since when have capes done realism. As Stan Lee more-or-less put it, it's all about dramatics.
>>
>>98547518
Still works much better than without having precog. And this is only minor level precog major level with reaction boosts should work quite well.
>>
>>98547499
It helps to work backwards on what the team can do if the goal is to not have them invalidate a team challenge. For example Owen could go nearly anywhere he wants in the world but he still needs to know where he needs to go and his team's other powers could get that information for him. Direct fights are really where it gets difficult and I can't think of much myself other than having secondary stakes to the fight other than winning or losing, or having them want to avoid a fight for whatever reason but that's something surrounding the fight rather than being about the fight itself.
>>
>>98547545
Maybe if you weren't fighting reality warping monsters like super tier psychics have a 100 km range for attack and 1000 km detection, then speed alone wouldn't even be enough to injure other monsters, not to mention nullification. Vector can just completely disable a speedster. There are a lot of other freaky powers. You need a lot of other powers to build around speed for it to fully work.
>>
>>98547558
Yeah we got a lot of freaks of nature running around
>>
>>98547558
To be fair the way the CYOA is designed then being a Hyper Speedster inherently comes with a bunch of other Majors. It's not a linear points-based system where you have to sacrifice everything to max out a power, the path to maxing out Speed comes with the resources needed to take everything else to become Meme Blitz Man.

That said though, I'm going to agree with Stan Lee and focus a little less on the raw powers in favour of dramatics, I just have to be careful to not undersell powers either, which does make it difficult to write for speedsters but still.
>>
>>98547575
Personally I just assume that they don't come with any other inherent powers and that they are simply a normal dude that can magically move super fast. They don't inherently get any durability or strength buffs.
>>
>>98547591
I agree with your take, but I think they are saying its unlikely that someone who has access to a super power, doesn't also have access to major or minors with which they can build themselves to actually use the super speed half decently.
>>
>>98547591
Wouldn't that mean they'd be completely useless since no matter what they'd do with their powers they'd be accelerating a mass to the point of not being able to handle the reaction force?
>>
>>98545787
Which potential rivalries do you think would be the most compelling?
>>
>>98547608
Stinger and Locust-man will be our modern Karma and Seiryu.
>>
>>98547604
Well it's magical speed, working trough magic. If it was working under real physics then they would be causing tremendous collateral damage around them from just moving.
>>
>>98547604
Speed Force rules, it fixes most of the issues at risk of creating a few smaller ones. Basically Speedsters don't have inertia but ignore resistive forces. It means them punching someone at 0.1% doesn't level a city block and running at multiple times the speed of sound doesn't kill them.
>>
>>98545787
Prompt Time!

I've been looking through some of my favourite capeslop for inspiration and went back to the Batman Arkham games. If you ever lost to one of the bosses, they'd have a short 1-1 moment with a dead/dying Bruce. Some paid their respects, some gloated, some were disappointed, some didn't know what to do with themselves. I really like these scenes, it gives a great insight into the villains.

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/XGoDQ9Yn5Yw

We've had a lot of Fighting/Video Game prompts before but I don't think I've seen this, so I propose a challenge to you all.

>Easy Mode For Cool Anons
Pick 5 other characters from the roster, from different perspectives if you're feeling brave. What does your character say to them personally in their own 'game over' screen? Do they gloat, do they take the moment to share a secret that they'd never tell a living soul, do they feel remorse?

>Hard Mode For Real Capeslop Schizos
Reverse the dynamic. Your character is beaten by these same 5. What do they say to your character during your game over screen?
>>
>>98547638
Why assume they can punch someone without also suffering the impact from the hit? I can understand saying that by having superspeed your body is able to sustain the forces put on it through movement. I think interacting with others doesn't have the same implicit requirement.
>>
>>98547638
Also they can speed themselves up even while still
>>
>>98547665
A bit busy right now but I'm definitely tackling this later today, sounds fun.
>>
>>98547666
True and I forgot to mention that. They ignore resistive forces like air pressure and the like, but tend to interact with solid objects in the same manner as if they weren't going at super speed.

E.g. if a Speed 3 but no Strength dude runs at you at 0.1% the speed of light, the force equation is as if someone normal hit you while running very fast, but not in a blows-up-the-town physical reaction.

It's basically a way to streamline how speed works that DC came up with to answer all the surface level physics questions about Flash.
>>
>>98547666
NTA but probably should be possible as super strength would need the same effect. But unless you have super strength those punches would be human level.
>>
>>98547665
Good prompt. Will think.
>>
>>98547665
>Kalchey:
>Agent Steel: "Your due service has ben duly noted, but rest assured that your deathlessness end here today, and I will take up the slack from now on."

>Jackdaw: "Sure you were hard to bring down, but death eventually catches up to all. Who would've thought that someone with your experience would bite more than he could chew."

>Stinger: "Ah. So annoying. You will not even make another experience as my venom ravages your insides? Not a single wince or moan of pain? You are so bo-ring."

>Wolfram Weiß: "So vee met again, Kirill Dragunov. I would've vanted to meet you in the battlefield one more time, as you used two of your russians' PPSH-41, but alas. Rest well, old enemy. The Nazis will rise once again."

>Powerhouse: "For an old guy, you sure could keep up with the strongest villain, POWERHOUSE, know that I will not forget you for the next five minutes."
>>
>>98547665
The closest recent example of something similar was during UQ cape version which also had different quotes against someone for different ways of winning. I'll roll and try both if I can think of something good

>BREAKING NEWS!
Good evening, citizens. This is a special report on Weapon-7, better known to generations as the Atomic Anthro-Bot, Atom Ant, and America’s Littlest Big Gun.

Born from the strange wreckage of Roswell, Weapon-7 began as Weapon-1: a military automaton forged from alien Xenomium and powered by the mysterious Crimson Stone, later classified as the War-Core. Designed by unknown extraterrestrial minds for conquest, the device instead bonded to a crude American robot and mistook President Eisenhower for Earth’s supreme commander! The result was one of history’s strangest miracles: a world-ending alien engine taught HEROISM! Introduced to the public in 1953, Atom Ant became a symbol of atomic-age optimism, battling Soviet super-weapons, moon-Nazis, giant monsters, occult cults, and every nightmare the Cold War could throw at him.

In the 1980s, he left Earth to confront the alien creators of the War-Core and returned in his strongest body yet: Weapon-7! When he returned back, the world he left behind went crazy!

Now operating as an independent hero, he faces a darker modern world of corporate empires, shadow supers, conspiracies, mass radicalization, and despair spread through screens instead of bombs. His mission remains unchanged: "We must all get ready now," for the future doesn't wait...even for ATOM ANT!

Don't worry about it, the point of the exercise is to see what you think of your own character and what you think of everyone else's, it's all non-canon vibesposting for fun.

Did you also want to do the Easymode with Kalchey winning? I'd be interested in that.
>>
>>98547783
Kalchey follows the old school no kill rule, so I thought that for him in specific, the hard mode would be easier than the easy mode, as his game-over would be more like a "take you back to your last check-point or save-room" rather than a standard game-over screen.
>>
>>98547799
Entirely fair, though it wouldn't be entirely against the prompt to say they don't kill, is there anything they'd tell the five before they knocked them out?
>>
>>98547806
This is a better question. I actually dont think so, the way I picture Kalchey is that he is the type to talk and try to get out before he knocks you out, extending the olive branch, you know?
>>
>>98547822
That makes sense too and is just a valid look into his character.

Kalchey anon here.
It seems I A: Missed the fact that Evil Corpos give you 3 benefits
Missed that Cosmic Earth counts as a Drawback
And I missed that Willpower at Major Level does not force-feed you a drawback, so I have around 6 Benefits I think? 3 From Scenario, and 3 from the Non-Enforced Drawbacks I took (2 Normal Drawbacks, and Cosmic Earth)

With the benefits I have, I am thinking of going:

6 Benefits
Escape Artisit
Incredible Skill>Star Power: Soldier
Incredible Skill: Surgeon
Incredible Skill: Psychology
Incredible Skill: Survivalism

The only thing I am iffy about is the Star Power Soldier, which I think can be toned down to Incredible Skill: Investigation, which I think would fit him, even as Star power Soldier also fits him. I can also remove that last Benefit to get rid of one of the drawbacks Kalchey has.
>>
>>98547873
>but I'll see you in hell someday.
Oh yeah, Agent Steel passed the Vibe check, that is a line Kalchey would grin and approve of.
>>
>>98547898
Thanks, I was writing as you said Kalchey has a no-kill rule, so maybe Kalchey's win is what he'd say if their fight escalated so bad that he'd accidentally kill Steel? Or I could just be off entirely.
>>
>>98545787
Since evil Corp is optional how mechanical different will it be for those who choose it and for those who don't?
>>
>>98547914
Kalchey would try to avoid killing Steel at all costs, but in the right extreme circumstances, like Superman VS Apocalipse in the Volcano in League of Justice Unlimited, Kalchey could be forced to use escalate things to finish things if there is really no other way to finish things, like Steel going off the deeper end and becoming an unreasonable monster that cannot be stopped by Kalchey or any other Cape nearby without killing.
>>
>>98547881
I think star power soldier could work, it already includes more action focused examples like being a legendary thief.
I picked it for governance skills just to ignore it completely.

Finally mannaged to finish this. I did notice a few typos such as missing punctuation, missing letters, and writting mic as mike, but the mistakes were minimal compared to how long it is. As for the text itself, the style really works for Owen and Sam's sections, but did start to wear out its welcome by the time Sam was in the kitchen but seeing how the story ended, even though you did mention it in-thread, it might've been done for a good reason. The ending really caught me off guard, especially when they realized that it was precisely timed and that Nate almost made the wrong decision. Will there be a follow up as to who caused the attack in the end?

Hate to say it, but to get Plasma Eyes with Vision, you'd need it at Major, so not sure why you dropped it to Minor from the original build rendition. Additionally, you have 4 powers on Always Active but you can only take it up to 3 times. Also not sure on how stuff like Durability or Adaptability works as an Always Active since I assume they are passive by default, but the drawback does say any major or super so that's less of an issue. Could cut Absorption again since I don't know what type of accumulated power he'd need to turn against his foes when he's already got Super Strength.

It is nice to see that Radiant hasn't been abandoned though, he's been one of my favorite heroes in this lineup even though he's just Superman-lite with nothing but potential feats so far. It's just a cool archetype, can't beat the flying brick package.
>>
>>98550440
I'm good at not giving up, it's arguable if it's a good thing or not but at least it's consistent.
I had some things to discuss about the setting too. I remember that we decided on a sort of monster world with no humans for the spirit world, following the digimon inspiration where the protagonists are the only humans. But was it always like this? In some of the digimon games the digimon world is sorta post apocalyptic, less great disatsters and more "all the humans just disappeared all of a sudden" but they used to be there. So what do we want for ours? A full monster world with its own version of (probably mostly tribal) society or do we want some hints of humans being there in the past?
Or we could go the Survive approach if you know it. Which I think is a cool way to do things, but it's a bit hard to explain without going into massive spoilers about the game.
>>
>>98550801
Thanks for point out the issue with always active I'll go back and fix. For plasma its just fluff for how he uses it through his eyes rather than unrestricted.

The absorption is just fun and fluff as well, I imagine it helps him be more active and sustaining his powers, as well as being useful in boosting his effective durability, finally I like the idea of him having a cool finisher after a big battle.
>>
>>98550875
Oh so it's not really a Vision power, it's Minor Plasma flavored as being through his eyes. That should be fine then, and everything else but the Always Active works out. Seems good then.
>>
>>98550899
I updated it to have Threatening instead of Senses, it seems the most obvious since I was taking all the threats anyway.

OOC since I'm going to bed, I waiting to see if any heroes actually answer the call and come to stake out the studio. Given his powerset, he can probably sneak by non-psychics. If she catches wind that an attack is actually happening, she'll beg the government for help, and I think it's only fitting Z-Team has to provide security for her.

Honestly a pretty good premise for a piece.

The latter's heroic in terms of the definition, but a total jerkass can exhibit courage and daring. If you mean morally correct, then no. It's better to not risk the world. 1000 people die in car accidents every day. You're not stopping highways, are you?

huh... interesting how I somehow independanty wrote pretty much the inversion of the character. Even the time line relatively adds up. An alien wmd that lost its programmed purpose during transit to earth. Ended up in a relatively lovely low class rural home. Too on a completely opposite approach to powers in the early days. Where they just hid their most powerful abilities out of moral reservations. Didn't go to no super school and just became some D-lister hero. Also had a grand failure in the same alien invasion. But had a completely opposite result where they switched from heroic to anti-villainous, since they had the opposite problem where they didn't use enough power. They even had the opposite to a parental figure, a mentor that made them worse and discard the old moral values instilled into them by their adoptive parents. Guess the journey is also inversed that instead of a decline they had a growth period, even if it was a slow moral fall. Not really sure about Samanthas ideology. But potentially another inversion, she seems to not want to do heroics out of the potential damage she can cause? If thats the case the ends justify the means, do whatever to achieve good would probably be the inverse of that.

Jedianons, I'm stuck between two completely opposing ideas for the Sith Sorcerer, though both of them work with the throughline I have they can't work together;

>1. Classic Sith Scientist, uses alchemy, cybernetics, machines and modern technology to maximize POWAH and has zero reverence for the force as anything mystical.
>2. 'Light Side' Sith, very monkish occult-spiritualist hermit who is very composed, eloquent, serene and level-headed for a Sith. Believes in a corrupted version of Force Cosmicism and 'worships/serves,' the Force through a Dark Side lens.

The former is more classic Sith (though I know we're more Dark Brotherhood than truly Sith on the antagonistic side) and can be lots of straightforward evil magic science fun. The latter might be interesting for this run as it makes them less actively antagonistic towards the Jedi and might be someone they can actually talk to outside of force aura farming and lightsaber clashes while still being enemies.

What would the three of you prefer?
>>
>>98552013
Philosophically I think its possible to be a calm, eloquent, and composed Sith but I think he would be sort of gimped in that it would take a whole lifestyle and still only let you touch on the very edges of the darkside so he would be pretty mid as a threat, outside of maybe being a corrupting influence that others try to emulate and fail at.

For that reason I think I prefer the sith scientist, darkside cyborgs and alchemical beasts sounds dope which also helps.
>>
>>98552013
I assume he's a part of the Dark Brotherhood. Would he represent a typical stance for them, or possibly be an outlier? What's his approach to the Disaster? Is it something he wants to solve too? If so, then even if he's evil it might be possible for him to work together with Jedi temporarily. In either case, he'll have to convince the jedi to not instantly fight him, and also not instantly fight them despite them being the enemies of the Dar Brotherhood. The scientist would likely go on full pragmatism arguments, and hermit might go more vague, I feel like the former arguments might work bother on Ur'Drach, while the latter might work on Varro. So if you want evil magic science fun as well as some non-antagonist interactions with the Jedi, maybe the Sith Scientist trying to solve the Disaster problem would be the way to go?
>>
>>98552028
>I think he would be sort of gimped
While I agree, at least in terms of the builds, it seems like compared to NPCs we're going for very powerful/talented individuals.

That to say them not getting as much oomph out of the Dark Side and subsequently being less powerful than other Sith Builds would be the intent, the return for the investment is they'd be dangerously calculated in their plans rather than being a (powerful) slave to their emotions. But they'd still presumably be very powerful in terms of the setting. That is if I went with Monk-Sith, of course.

>>98552030
Both of them have the Rebel tag in my head for being divergent from the beliefs of the Dark Brotherhood, which as I understand are Sith-Lite in terms of philosophy. Sith Scientist would be an outcast for going Full Sith for lack of a better term and would scare the others for being too much of a power mad schizo, while the Monk-Sith would be far too Jedi-like and would inspire a level of fear and mockery from other Dark Side Adepts.

Neither are really intended to be the face or leader of the Dark Brotherhood, but rather someone the Jedi builds can interact with in a way that's not just 'fight the Dark Lord or Evil Priest.'

Both of them would be approaching the Disaster in different methodologies but the same way. They both believe something went deeply wrong with whatever the Dark Brotherhood was doing and are trying to intellectually solve the issue on the spiritual side. Both are scared that the Dark Side may be escalating in a manner from the Disaster in a way that they either can't control (Sith Scientist) or is disrupting the careful balance they seek (Sith Monk). They're both going to be heading to Force Nexuses, powerful sites and Astrogation points to try and piece it all together and search for a solution and would likely run into the PCs during such expeditions, possibly being beaten and sent away on their stealth ship to be back next Sunday on occasion.
>>
>>98552030
UrDarch is dogmatist, he isn't likely to tolerate a Sixth regardless, if peaceful approach is the avenue then surely you'd try through Sen who has more of a "I can redeem him" vibe.

The dynamic between going to Varro could be interesting, he is already near the edge, I wonder if he would react violently to avoid any corruption or try for a pragmatic approach believing himself above the corruption of another, or maybe some third option?
>>
>>98552055
If it matters mechanically, Sith-Monk is Sense, Empathy, Farsight, Shatterpoint and Precognition coded, very spiritual-seer and probably uses Makashi as a grounding focus for their emotions. More social and with Survival and other 'monk' skills but still a lot of Intellectual.

Scientist is a Naman Forcemaxxer with probably things like Telekinesis, Lightning and more obvious wizardcore powers. Full Research/Analysis/Knowledge.
>>
>>98552055
Then I feel that Classic Sith Scientist might be the better option. I feel like it provides most of what the Light Side Sith can provide + more. The main thing it misses is the discussions about esoteric elements of the force and light vs dark side, but a somewhat similar mystic vs scientific discussion is still there.
>>98552077
Sen would have been the easiest, but he stayed behind for now to deal with the senators, right?
For now the first contact will likely be with Ur'Drach adn Varro, and convincing Ur'Drach to work together will require some extraordinary circumstances, however the base for them is already there with the Disaster.
Quick idea: the Jedi investigate the Disaster and find a lead. While they explore it, they stumble upon the Scientist. They attack, defeat and capture him. They interrogate him about the situation, and as he wants to solve the Disaster issue anyway, he gives them some, and agrees to lead them to some other relevant spot or smth like that, which he also uses as an occasion to escape, or if the further interactions are to be more even, perhaps even saves them from some trap (from his perspective, because they can still be useful to him).

But I don't think you're ready to hear that, so consider this instead: who do you think sits on the board of directors for the big Super-corporations? I assure you, they're mostly ordinary humans, but they have a LOT of money and influence. If you make a habit of killing supers who are high profile, who they find valuable, or better yet both, you're painting a target on your head, that the truly powerful in this world will devote their power to seeing hit. You know you're not the first with this screed, right? Looking at the world today, they clearly didn't get very far, so what makes you different?

...And what makes you think more supers won't appear after you've taken yourself out?

Yeah, now that you mention it they really are opposites in so many things, both about the characters overall and also their narrative sequences throughout their backstories.
Maia's choice about how possessing overwhelming power may give you a moral obligation to use it when withholding it permits something worse is something Sam can understand, at least, though she wouldn't follow it herself. Sam isn't Captain Moral Purity, though, she's not going to tell someone they should let a city die rather than kill one villain, she isn't remotely that doctrinaire. But she's terrified of uncertainty, and when the choices you try to make become larger in scale then every little unknown matters so much more it becomes unbearable to her. And her way of coping is through avoidance.

>>
>>98552013
I'm still confused on both.
My understanding is that force comes from life. So a machine can't generate anything with the force.
Also, the light side is acting in balance with the force. The dark side is bending it to your will to serve your own ends. So to serve the force with the dark side is like going left while going right. It's a nonsensical contradiction.
>>
stop having fun with isekai slop…

oh nevermind, that’s already the case. Carry on then.
>>
>>98553937
>My understanding is that force comes from life. So a machine can't generate anything with the force.
Correct and for the most part is the case. Sith Alchemy/Sith Sorcery is often based around taking the Force from living things and putting it into something that resonates well symbolically. Sometimes certain materials are more-or-less better at it. It involves a lot of blood sacrifice and other wizard stuff. Sith Scientist would be bound by all these issues and wouldn't be going around making Force Computers or demystifying it, they'd just (wrongly) believe that they can control it scientifically.

>Also, the light side is acting in balance with the force. The dark side is bending it to your will to serve your own ends.
Also correct, Light Side Sith would be wrong about the nature of The Force, but a lot of Sith are by default, as the Sith Code basically requires you to make something up and then try and force it on reality until reality rubber bands back so hard it gets you killed.

Neither of these characters are meant to have a 'true understanding' of the Force or anything, don't worry, I'm not some Grey Jedi Poster. But like Darth Traya, they're highly intelligent, highly educated Force-Wielders that miss the forest for the trees and believe they have all the answers out of pride, spite and fear, like most of the Sith's scholarly types.
>>
>>98553980
capeslop is just western isekaislop
>>
>>98553937
Its because the force is fundamentally an energy, and Sith alchemy uses perverse means to use that energy to fuel its wicked outcomes.

The light side is actually abit of a misnomer, all of the force is the 'lightside', the 'darkside' is a cancerous tumor that has grown on it. There are different types of Tumors though, some are benign and can be ignored knowing that the natural way of things will sort them out. Others like the sith are malignant, they intentionally grow and destroy. That parasitic type needs to be expunged or else inevitably it will destroy everything in its own pursuit of power, anger, and hatred.

I saw you were shopping around for a rival, and wanted to pitch Powerhouse as Radiant's. I've been reworking Powerhouse and it turns out my build was illegal (Always Active apparently only applies to Major and Super, whoops), so I've been sorting through and fixing other things while I'm at it.

I've been going through the roster and I think Radiant has the best personality and powerset to contrast Powerhouse's, as he's one of the only builds who I feel would be an equal in power and can push him to be on the backfoot if needed. Unlike someone like Bastion who has stuff like Super Strength as well, Radiant has a bit more tools to deal with him, like their overwhelming speed and flight that'd easily match his Lightning teleportation, enough physical stats to give and take blows for an actual Armageddon level fight, and utility/threats in their back pocket like ice and plasma to strategically wear him down.

He's also like the one actual A-Lister hero, and the closest to being someone who's actually A-Team material. Unlike most supers, Powerhouse doesn't see Radiant as preachy or hypocritical as they are one of the few people who do live to use their powers to the fullest, only in the complete opposite direction as he does. Selfishness vs Selflessness. He might disagree with the heroics but he begrudgingly respects their commitment trying to protect the entire world. At least they've had a lot more success for their endeavors compared to the Z-Team.

Question for Locust-Man. Leila (Stinger) holds a completely legal day job, and she isn't infamous enough to be barred from working a 9-5. In fact, she performs so well at her job that her company actually posted bail for her after her most recent arrest. Now, if Locust-Man were to spot her at the office, having just witnessed something that would normally require him to detain her without hesitation, would he let her finish her shift in peace? After all, that job represents stability in her life, something that might actually steer her away from crime (and he might even wonder why she continues down that path when she has a steady day job). Or would he still feel the need to apprehend her on the spot?
>>

Happy to have Powerhouse as Radian'ts rival, ill update my rentry soon.
I agree thats a fun ideal dichotomy to play with, is your updated version dumping cold/heat immunity? I only ask because your comment of his utility powers working to wear him down.

I'm working on a writefag now and might include a little cameo from Powerhouse, but he has a fair few powers, does he mostly fight as a lightning construct brawler and hurl lightning bolts and such around? Or is he zippy and moving around with his llightning or does he only use that to arrive / leave?
>>
>>98555526
Locust-Man isn’t exactly lawful good, he’s more of a vigilante who keeps his eye close to the people of the streets (but he tries to collaborate with law enforcement most of the time). He actually DOES want to see her rehabilitated, so if he thinks he can get away with it (as in, he’s the only one that recognised her), he WOULD let Stinger finish her shift. Although if he were to see her robbing a bank again he’d be very disappointed. I mentioned in the relationship chart how much he believes in second chances and wants to see others change and improve, although paying for your crimes is also important. He’d let her finish her shift if she just got bailed out, especially. No “once a villain, always a villain” BS, that’s just cruel. If she had just escaped from a crime before? He’d hesitate, although he also understands he can’t just apprehend someone on the grounds of “they kinda look like this villain I tend to fight” so he’d probably just patrol near the area for a while until Stinger formally attacks again. All in all, Locust-Man is a lot more concerned with the final results of his actions rather than throwing the book at people and doesn’t consider himself a definitive moral judge with inscrutable authority or anything. If someone shows signs of improvement and their debts are paid, why bugger them any further?
>>
>>98555575
Thanks for the answer, anon. I'm planning on writing something.
>>
>>98555527
Still keeping the immunities, I just imagine that Ice is useful for battlefield control and Plasma can overcome the heat immunity when charged. Powerhouse is mostly a brawler, I plan to add a Flavor/Merge to put more emphasis on the metaphysical side of his lightning. Mentioned some of his fighting styles before >>98536957

He usually doesn't rely on Lighting teleportation because he can't actually see anything when he's moving like that, even if he focused with Inner Power for Speed it'd be an almost instant blink in his perspective. He'd most likely have to be in Transformation mode to use it properly in a fight like that, and that'd be far more exhausting and rarely used as a trump card, so for the most part it would be for an opening or finisher.
>>
>>98555648
To elaborate, it would also depend on what exactly he just witnessed. Locust-Man would totally leave Leila alone as long as she’s on good behaviour, seeing her working her day job would make him think “hmm, not robbing banks today? Good choice” but if he just saw something suspicious he’d keep a close eye on the office building. He doesn’t think he has the authority to say “this person is 100% a criminal because I say so”, so actually catching Stinger in the act is important to him. If there’s no act going on, there’s nothing he can really do about it

Achilles has no idea how old he is. Ah, this question again. I was already old man before I came to Earth. Old even by Ascendant standards. I only began counting your years after... eh, first century or two. By my best estimate? Four hundred and twelve. Yes, I know, I look fantastic. Longevity is wonderful thing. Terrible for retirement planning, but wonderful for skin!
>>
>>98559353
Huh? Your the one saying that longevity is not worth the points. Your whole arguments revolves on some retarded mun maxing and number crunching. If it's low staked who cares about suboptimal benefit placement. What kind of try hard build are you making that can't even afford 1 benefit for immortality?
>>
>>98558790
Locust-Man is in his early 20s, maybe 22. He got his powers when he was 17 and he started doing cape work around a year later as Anvil’s sidekick in training. He’s been an independent hero since Anvil died, so just for a couple of years
>>
If your character did not spend the points to know how to tap dance, then they can never learn. Characters are static. As unchanging as arithmetic.

>Always Active Super Strength
>"The power that you may exert typically crumbles or crushes whatever you come into contact with upon impact"
Am I misreading something, or would this actually be a HUGE problem?
>>
>>98560766
nta but yes. It means that he cannot limit his strength to human levels. Doesn't necessarily mean that he's always max, as the flight example only has 10cm above the ground, but it does mean he can't go below superhuman levels of strength. Say goodbye to mugs or ever petting animals.
>>
>>98560789
Sounds terribly dangerous for hero work
>>
>>98560847
Depends on the kind of hero work. He can't do anything delicate directly, but he can still smach things and punch villains. Depending on his moral code he either doesn't care if criminals die or he can concentrate only on the kind of criminals he knows can take his punches. He can't rescue a cat by picking it up from the tree, but he can uproot the whole tree and bring the cat to ground level instead, so it can be worked around. What it does guarantee is that he can't have a normal life unless he lives in a place where everything is ultra reinforced, and he definitely can't have a normal job or secret identity.
>>
>>98560789
>>98560847
I read it as always having greater than human but not always maximum potential, so for example needing reinforced steel door handles and a concerted effort not to break them when opening or having specially designed cups to drink out of because regular ones would crumble.
>>
>>98560789
>>98560970
That's what I was thinking. Not insurmountable for "Radiant", but "RM Ashford...?"
>>
>>98551198
As cool as the build is it's not how it works for us. You don't get to take the Level Down modifier, and you are missing the Super World modifier.
You also don't get to take Imprisoned 3 times because you are not a villain, it's specifically for Villain, not Villain and Anti-villain. You can only take it once.
Also what is Responsibility copying?
You don't lose much overall but the build is a mess right now.
>>
>>98561037
We discussed the first point earlier. Since the world is clearly level 4, there's no reason to deny builds that want to be lower tiers the extra stuff that level down gives over Super World, though he should take it as well.
You're right about Imprisoned though, and I think other builds did the same mistake.
>>
>>98561037
the CYOA has so many contingent options depending on other options that it's a mess all on its own just following the IF-THEN chains, so I can forgive him for fucking up repeatedly.
>>
>>98560973
Nta but considering what the description says and the fact it uses Cyclops as the image, which seems pretty deliberate considering most images seem to fit in that way too, I was thinking it was a kind of inversion of sorts. It can't be turned off completely, but can probably be lessened with a lot of effort, or specialized equipment, like how Cyclops has his glasses, or can keep his eyes closed with a lot of effort.
>>98561024
He would be a man in a very loud glass world, he needs to be constantly on guard if he wants to not crush anyone or anything, his senses are constantly attacked as if he was an animal (which isn't that bad in the long run, animals can get used to it and so could he, still not pleasant) and his body would be constantly changing in small ways to accomodate changes in his environment. If RM Ashford is a recluse only known by name, who ony comunicates via mails and calls, and who uses reinforced tools to write, then I can see it working. But good luck meeting anyone on person or having guests over.
>>
>>98561055
>We discussed the first point earlier.
Then the earlier builds should be updated and the rules clarified. Otherwise it's unfair.
>and I think other builds did the same mistake.
I didn't read all the builds, I only started paying proper attention to the run now since I was considering making one myself. On the other hand, this cyoa is a mess and I have a feeling that if I start auditing all the builds I will just find similar levels of fuck ups. I only pointed this one out because it honestly looks like he didn't even use all the points he got from that stuff, so even if he takes that away the build still works.
>>98561095
I don't blame him for fucking up, but I still feel like it should be pointed out. Mostly because it looks like a lot of that stuff wasn't even used.
>>
>>98558790
>Atom Ant/WEAPON-7

(Assuming we use this current year of 2026 as the present day in the CYOA) Atom Ant was built in 1953 which would put him as 73 years old. However, Atom Ant was little more then a robot with Chat-GPT for a brain until he gained sentience in 1970 which actually puts it at 53 years old if you use their "independent thinking" date as their birthdate.

Despite having Longevity, Mako is only about 20 years old. She doesn't really comprehend what a year is yet, and has no idea when she was born, so she assumes that she's closer to the rest of the Z-Team in terms of age ("You're two hundreds years? Wow! I'm probably only one hundred..."). Because she's mostly interacting with other supers with Longevity, her perception of age and how long humans live is really warped.

She doesn't know what a birthday is, but when she learns you get presents and cake, she'll really, really want one.

It should be noted that she is still growing, albeit more slowly than when she was a child. After enough decades she'll get too large to reliably interact with human society, and with a few centuries, she might not even be humanoid anymore and forced to live exclusively in the sea.

29. Reaching 30 is a scary thought.
>>
>>98561678
He is crazy, but he isn't dumb. He would likely either not be provoked *immediately* into action, that is to say he would be provoked to action but might take a week or so to plan it out. Or, if he needs to for story reasons act immediately he would try and cause distractions to draw away the heroes who might be guarding the area, and/or attack from afar. He does not want to be caught and is well aware of his relative weakness. He has no qualms fighting unfair and being messy, things like bombs, sniper rifles, lying whatever, he only cares about taking down what he percieves to be the worlds evils (supers) and is willing to go to extreme lengths to do so.

One thing I was thinking about, was if he couldn't achieve the attack he wants is that he would turn to psychological torture where he would start hurting others and sending Crowfeather bits and pieces being like "who do you care more about, your own safety or these 'innocent' people"

Something that has been left unsaid, is that the dude is pushing up his late fifties at bare minimum. Paragon screw up was 50 years ago if I remember it right, at minimum, to remember and hold this deep of a grudge against capes, he would need to be at least seven years old, and that is pushing it heavily.
Reasonably, he would need to be around his teen years or as a young adult, which puts him comfortably on the 60s to 70s age bracket. Grandpa has been killing people for a long, long time.

"Usually, Nate was right. Then one day he wasn't.

During a major cape crisis, Nate made the wrong call. He hesitated when he shouldn't have, tried to find a better solution when there wasn't one, and by the time the situation was contained, thousands of people were dead.

What followed was an absolute shitshow.

Investigations became hearings, hearings became criminal proceedings, and before long Nate was at the center of the trial of the century. It dragged on for years as governments, heroes, lawyers, experts, victims and seemingly every person with access to a television argued over whether he'd been criminally reckless or simply a good man who made the wrong decision in an impossible situation.

Eventually, the court picked a side.

Nate got fifty years.

And since he doesn't meaningfully age, he got to serve all fifty of them."

Like, reasonably, the only reason he has not been hunted down and hanged by his balls yet is that he is somewhat of a self-contained small scale nuisance/no terrorist level attack just yet. Otherwise Agent Steel would be giving it to him.
>>
>>98558790

>>
>>98561824
>Is that a rule? I didn't see it and I saw in thread people talking about level down.
It's not exactly a rule, it's more a consequence of not having one. The original rules were made to allow everyone to make whatever they wanted without having to worry about the world level, it just so happened that most people chose Armageddon. Technically you can't take level down because we don't have a world level, so you have no starting point to level down from. Some anons brought up the fact that we essentially have an Armageddon level world because everyone picked that, so picking level down should be allowed. It was a discussion still in progress with no clear decision, so you just jumped the gun a bit. It seems most don't mind so I think you can keep that part and hopefully the rules will be properly updated next thread.
>Seems like an odd thing to include but it is what it is.
That's like half the cyoa for most people. Sylen has been called retarded for it several times already, and the worst part is that we don't know if it will be fixed, as it's not like the other conditionals. Anyway, as you said, it is what it is. We could house rule it, but then we would need to change so many other things, and at that point it would be faster to just play a different cyoa.
>I wrote it down originally because he thinks his anti-power aura gives him the responsibility to get rid of the capes because he can in a way others cant.
Conceptually it makes sense, it's a cool addition. It's also very hypocritical of him, but I assume that's an intended part of the character. It's still better to know what it stands for mechanically too, just to have a clear picture.
>>
>>98562263
nta but this doesn't need to be the case. The build says 'tied to' which leaves a lot of room for movement. Besides the general nature of comics, you could easily write him as having been forcefully moved through time, or frozen in stasis, or taking on the mantle of someone else, or maybe its just a second order effect that links to him, for example a new rule brought in after Paragons trial led to one thing which led to another which leads to him and he blames it all on the hero now that he has returned to service. It doesn't have to be a simple linear timeline issue.

Andreu Galanis is but a common young man of the suburbs of New York, or so he likes to think. Since he was born, he was blessed with abnormal strength, and spikes of energy, that his parents always wrote off as childish zoomies, but there was more to those "spikes of energy" that first met the eye. To first to note those spikes was his... grandpa, a affecionate nickname for an old relative that alaywas followed his family since before his grand parents were children, and the man seems to have a refusal to just lie down and die. The old man taught him boxing, at least, what seems like some sort of old style boxing and wrestling, as well as how to channel those spike of energy he had, and taught him how to not have a meltdown, how to control his power and strength, and the electricity that came along with it. For a supposedly old man with no superpowers, the old man seemed to know way too much of how the powers of Andreu worked.

His family was never rich, and the fact he burned through calories like an old car consumed gasoline, there were times were he was but skin and bones, as his family did their best to survive and provide for him, he took their kindness to heart, and did his best to eat as little as he could until they were in a better spot. Sadly, that time never came, but he managed to find work as a part-timer on a mechanic shop, working on cars and motorcycles, Andreu discovered he had a knack to work with machines, with coupled with his electricity powers, made him gain a certain unique understanding on how to operate them, and influenced him to try a mechanical engineering university once he gradutes, which is soon, as he is on his fianl year of highschool, and nearing his 18th birthday. He also joined the sports team, where he remains one of the stars of best Basket players of the School, banking on getting a sponsorship to join a prestige University.
Part 2/3
>>
>>98565941
Yet, the kindness of his parents, and the lessons taught to him by his grandpa, made him a dutiful young man. He could not stop by and let injsutice pass by him, not when he could make a difference, and so he started to work on a suit of armor. Whereas others would use armor to protect them, or provide armaments to the table, his suit armor works as both a battery, a way to hide his identity, and as a lightning rod for his powers, allowing a snappier and more complex usage of them, like channeling his eletricity to his arms and releasing from his arm a huge fist-like projectile against evil doers, discharing it to paralyse temporarily and knock down thugs, or transform his whole body into a battering ram enveloped by thunder, bringing down walls and defenses that keep him from reaching evil-doers, alongside other usages. Due to the fact he is a huge boy, and his armor makes him even bigger, it cannot be used anywhere, and he cannot get out during lunch break, wear his armor, deal with a villain, unwear his suit, and then return to class as if nothing happened, so he keeps a smaller, more body-suit like armor underneath his normal school or streetwear, inspired by the body suit worn by Locusta, whereas he just picks a lion helmet and quickly join or exit the fray as he needs.

What's your response piece going to be about? Because for the next part I'm writing, I'm actually planning on having Locust-Man visit Leila in the hospital, just to keep an eye on her since you know, she's a criminal. But of course, she escapes. She has work to do, and she's never been late or missed a single work day. That's how dedicated she is. She always unconsciously gives it her all, be it in villainy or mundanity.
He'll find her hobbling around her office, maybe even with a faint trace of blood still on her clothes. There might even be co-workers who'd lend her a hand, returning the favor for her ride-or-die attitude that's helped them in the past. It's also consistent given who she is, since she rode, and 'died', with her crewmates in villainy. It'll give him a glimpse of a side of her he never expected. There's also the briefcase full of money, he doesn't know who it belongs to (I also don't, I kind of just made it to be some sort of MacGuffin.)

I was gonna write something more or less similar. Locust-Man takes Stinger to the hospital, he kinda waits around and worries for her health for a bit (he’s even conflicted about knowing more about her identity and all) and after a visit or two, she’s gone. Then he goes to look for her at her job, and after seeing her working like a normal person, decides to leave her alone for the time being, hoping she can change her ways this time. Clearly she’s not going to, but he hopes. I think you might have a more solid vision about this so maybe you should do it? Or we can do a separate POV thing, I dunno.

I'll do it. I intended the Alley Run writefag as a precursor to the main story I'm planning, which is about Locust-Man discovering that Leila has a normal life outside of crime, and the consequences of her fixation on proving herself in villainy. That's shown through her staggering into work and barely standing, after the massive beatdown Jackdaw gave her. The one I wrote was just setup, I want to get into the meat of the story with this next one, which would end up establishing a new status quo where Locust-Man starts to hesitate when fighting no-name shitters, all because of Leila. After that, you can start writing whatever you want.

there's always been bloated writefags in mcyoag, the z team stuff is particularly bad not because of length, but because of the incredibly repetitive dialogue structure
>>

I haven't read it, but I'll just say this.
You should not try to stuff 20 people into a writefag if you don't need to.

How does Duty until Death, Power Up and the plant Hyper Power interact?

If I'm reading it correctly, you go to death's door and either survive in the moment by luck/skill or survive by respawning later from your plants, both of which would activate the Power Up since either way you're genuinely surviving death.
>>
>>98574324
That all sounds retarded.
>>
>>98574421
Why? I'm basically just asking if the combo lets you Zenkai boost using plants.

They are much the save as the Z team but actually good at working together and have good PR.
>>
>>98574324
>the plant Hyper Power
Isn't this better for army building then bestowal? You can give as many minor and major powers as you want to as many flora and fauna as you want. Also if you want them to be smart you can just give a genius power.
>>
>>98574252
honestly they probably *should* be power level 6 since we have so many 5s and 5+es running around
>>
>>98574456
That is the build I'm currently trying to brew up, yes. I was imagining that Hyper power plus the On Life Support tweak, buying as many Majors as I could get and then turning every plant on earth into a multi-major super. Whether those awakened plants would be trying to save or slaughter the planet i have yet to determine.
>>
>>98574472

>>
>>98574481
I wouldnt worry about it, sounds like it jobs to scorpion
>>
>>98574481
Well, I started off looking for power for two reasons, primarily so as to be able to keep up with all the other high power builds we have, and also as a thought experiment to try and make a minion build that wasn't way weaker than just buying good individual powers since I saw people talking scornfully about them as a concept earlier.

I hadn't really gotten to the fluff behind it yet since I'm not sure what the overall build looks like at the moment.
>>
>>98574504
>make a minion build that wasn't way weaker than just buying good individual powers since I saw people talking scornfully about them as a concept earlier.
Minion builds are weak because of narrative rules and anons refuse to job to hype up your pets, not because they're weak in the cyoa
>>

Behold, the spiderman build.

Power Tier
>Destructive
Powers
>Major: Morphism (Spider)
>Minor: Pre-Cognition

That's literally the entire build, and it's one of the most iconic superheroes ever created. But everyone wants to be 1000x more powerful than that.
>>
>>98574893
shut up mudcore anon
>>
>>98574915
that's the name we gave you because you won't shut up about mudcore
>>
>>98574522
Oh, it's actually even more than that it effects both flora and fauna, plus adds them to a hivemind on top of that.

Really just sounded like some zerg or tyrannid assimilator hivemind so I wrote my characters background as a malfunctioning bioweapon no longer committing it's main directive.

Really it's not too much of a problem in practice a lot of the powers have world ending potential at hyper or super level, but one can say the world itself has plot armor and someone always saves the day before it escalates that far, otherwise the world would be an apocalyptic hellscape from all the super tier powers.

>>
>>98574893

He has various superhuman physique, regeneration, technology, etc
even if you discount all that, he is the poster child of Willpower and you didnt even take it.
>>
>>98574954
No I literally made a build with that power like a few weeks ago
>>
>>98574972

>>
>>98574893

Actual Spiderman Powers

Molecular Bonding with any part of his body to any surface

Strong enough to knock out a T-Rex
Fast enough to outrun a car with reflexes capable of avoiding gunshots when pinged by their precog power.
Perfect Balance able to stand perfectly still on a speeding car, upside down, on a wall, but also he can balance a single hair on his finger perfectly.
Flexibility above and beyond any normal human
Healing Factor that is consistently saving his ass, pick up regen nerd.
Danger Sense/Precog obviously you got that already, however it really depends what spiderman you go for because Raimi spiderman had full constant precog of everything in a room from spitballs to flies.

Thats not even getting into the Mark of Kaine or shooting ranged stingers tipped with paralytic poisons, the fact he once cocooned himself to completely recover from fatal wounds, Bio-electric energy blasts that stun people, Also his webbing takes a week to dissolve.

Oh and he can chameleon himself to be nearly invisible.

Not even getting into alternate spidermen.
>>
>>98545787
Genetics on its own is probably one of the most terrifyingly scalable power as you can potentially just breed and clone armies of Armageddon tier supers. But we just don't do that for plot reasons unless your doing a crisis plot just like real comics.
>>
>>98574991
He's got the strength and reflexes of a spider.
He can stick to walls like a spider.
He can shoot webs like a spider.
He has an innate danger sense.

Morphism covers the first three.
Danger sense covers the last one.

But you already knew this. You just want to justify your armageddon+ build.
>>
>>98575049
Spiders have litearlly none of that though. Maybe you could argue for the hairs to climb some walls but they would need to be fucking massive to lfit a human.
>>

Pretty good haul desu, it's no mha but it did its job
>>
>>98545787
Strongest builds?
>>
Well, it was fun while it lated but the powerscaling reaps another victim.
>>
>>98575049
>He's got the strength and reflexes of a spider.
Ok, ignoring the fact spiders aren't actually known for being that strong I guess we can make that Major speed and Minor strenght, or the other way around if you prefer. I think speed fits more as a Major for a spider since they are more known for being surprisingly fast more than strong but the real spiderman is more geared for strenght.
>He can stick to walls like a spider.
Yes he can. However that's not covered by Morphisim unlike what you imply. Morphism only allows you to pick physical powers as you major and 2 minors, those are the only powers that you can take as your animal powers. Sticking to walls isn't one of those, it would be minor Planar, and that's a dimensional power, so if you want it you need to get it with a different slot.
>He can shoot webs like a spider.
Arguable, depends on the version. In some it's an actual super power he has, but in a lot of them it's actually a gadget, it's easy to forget that Peter Parker in many of his version is supposed to be a genius. Anyway that's not covered by Morphism either, Natural Weapons specifically needs to be lethal or sharp, and webs aren't any of that. There are actually no powers for that, but there could be some body traits, arguably Inhuman Feature could allow for wrist mounted spinnerets.
>He has an innate danger sense.
That's fine, the image is even him so it's easy to find.

So in the end, no, you cannot make Spiderman with just those 2 powers. It's not an Armageddon+ build to make him either, I can probably make him with Lethal, Destructive at most.
>>
>>98576372
a good purge never hurts especially if it keeps out mudcore shitters
>>
>>98576438
Nta but isnt Spiderman supposed to be like the 3rd strongest marvel hero behind hulk and the thing? Hes way, way stronger than he is in the movies.
>>
>>98576567
Not taking into account all the different versions of him, Spiderman is the poster child of Stan Lee's entire philosophy on superheroes and what they should be. Spiderman isn't strong, but he has the power of plot convenience and flexible setting, that is to say he's always exactly as strong as he needs to be to win. If a spiderman comic put him against Thanos he would become as strong as he needs to be to win alone. In the same way if he fights against as weaker villain he will become weaker to still be entertaining.
I focused on just refuting the fact you can make Spiderman with just 2 powers, I didn't list all the other powers you need to make him.
>>
>>98576316
I don't know about the strongest builds, but the 4 genius powers are the strongest powers in the cyoa. Just because unlike everything else they have no hard limitations.
>>
>>98576620
You also cant take more than one of them though
>>
>>98576279

Not according to this. I think he *is* stronger than he's usually portrayed in the comics, but he's nowhere near the third strongest.
>>
>>98576975
Not giving thoughts on things has become a real problem for the general, hasn't it? And I'm guilty of being part of that problem... Here:
>>98553374
I think it's cool that you were able to frame it as a series of quotes from him, complete with Spanish interjections, and that you had the thought to give insight into his would-be thoughts about those he's not aware of. I also respect your attempt to include builds that seem completely abandoned (Wolfram, Professor, Witchbane). I smiled at the few entries entirely in Spanish, and I think they're more entertaining without knowing their actual meaning. I wish I had more specific thoughts for you without getting into my own character, but I don't.
>>
>>98577121
I don’t see why you can’t get into your own character. That’s the best input you can give because you know your own character best, so that’s fine by me. I should try to update it sometime, especially with how much the new Galahad guy likes Locust-Man

>>
>>98545787
Nearly done a writefag I'm working on, just need another day or two of editing depending on how busy my job is. I had a few questions for some builds:

>Powerhouse
In the writefag, he takes a job from The Suit, and manages to complete it with minimal difficulty because his opponents aren't in the same league as him (Mako and Insomnia). What would he want as payment? A phone or similar device that's shielded from his constant lightning, a beacon to Fyros in case he gets locked in another dimension and needs a wizard to uber him home, just a shit tone of cash?

>The Suit
What are his top henchmen/lieutenants like? Do they have a theme and their own monikers (they all wear suits, they're all named after playing cards, etc), or do they just go with their real names/a john doe alias when acting in The Suit's interests? Also, does he have plants in other villain gangs, like Ra's cult?

>Idolatress
How involved is she with Scarlet Biologics? An actual full member (and likely lead researcher), or more like a contractor that supplies samples? The Suit gets blackmail on that corpo in the writefag and I want to see how connected it should be to Idolatress.
Also, is her mentor still alive, or is that the person who was taken out by her Tragic Death canon event?
>>
>>98577134
Maia. She's a Hyper Snoozer, so night time is one thing, but given her information-focused nature and weapons-grade multitasking I'm struggling with the idea that he's never seen her influence (civilian tanking a hit they had no right to, a nearby bush suddenly giving a would-be crook a wedgie, the miraculous Super Purification) nor received a telepathic poke from her at some point (I figure she's rather nosy, but in a benevolent way - that was half of what "seemingly omniscient" meant).

I'm starting to think that Always Active Super Purification is a thorny setting issue. Logically, miraculous healing in a 1km radius would attract a LOT of attention, and while she's not directly seeking attention she's actively hiding either. Maybe it's being actively suppressed by corpos / Deep State? But with her crazy information access from Telepathy and Senses, how would that actually work? I do know that I'm thinking of her taking Suit as a rival, since they're the only two speccing into soft power.
>>
>>98577597
Idolatress is very heavily involved Scarlet Biologics she is both a major shareholder and a top researcher. The mentor is still alive she is most likely biologicaly immortal, she is one of those operation paperclip esque mad scientists with weird eccentric occult stuff on top of it, crazy women. The tragic death killed Edens adoptive parents. The reaction to the blackmail will highly depend how it effects their personal projects if it's just financial and reputation damage they do not care. If it starts to interrupt the operations they will probably just try to move it elsewhere, but if it's too much of a problem they are not against just mass brainwashing people to get rid off issues, but it mostly depends on their cost-effectiveness analysis. But stuff like this probably happens often enough that they already have a few goverment plants and shady deals with the government ongoing. Idolatress is likely one of the major suppliers of supersoldiers for the government. Of course there is also a lot of shit they do outside Scarlet Biologics the shadiest research will probably happen off-planet in their layer.
>>
>>98577597
>What are his top henchmen/lieutenants like?
His lieutenants are mostly well dressed, able to fit in at a board meeting or a mafia dinner. He does have a few who differ, those that oversee his Saudi activities would wear a thawb. The south american drug overseer cargo shorts and vests, and hoodlum gangboss might be shirtless with jeans that hang way too low.

But yeah, the closest security and lieutenants dress similarly to him. Its all an effort to blend in.
>>
>>98577597
Yeah I feel ya, I've been pretty busy too, haven't even had the chance to update my chart for Powerhouse again. I think the phone is the funniest option since it's something he probably wouldn't easily be able to obtain by himself, but also so mundane of a reward that makes the job seem completely overkill for what he's getting out of it.
