Like, they can give you the ultimate sword excalibur, that also gives you ultra regen and supers speed and strenght when you wield it, but it's useless you don't have it with you. Most item sections offer some kind of protection, like the item cannot be used by anyone but you and returns if broken or stolen and stuff like that, which does help, but it doesn't matter if the enemy can't use my sword when I'm useless without it anyway. So unless there are items with really useful powers that I can't get in another way I don't even read the section.I also skim the power section if it looks simple enough, there not many ways to make the description for stat boosts interesting so I just look for the limits.

You had to go back and forth, back and forth between pages like a ping-pong ball. Like, you had options that would refer you to go visit a glossary of traits on another page to read what the options did. For example, if you pick the Race: Cambion, you get the following traits: Hybrid, Spawn, Tainted, and Changeling. And to find out what each of those 4 traits does you have to look up each trait in the trait glossary. Everything about an option should be described in the option's description, anything else is fucking stupid. I think Pantheon of Pleasure is Sylen's worst CYOA because of how fucking hard it is to navigate it.CYOAs should be user-friendly, and any CYOA that fails on that is just a failure of a CYOA. Just have a bunch of other stuff on my plate so progress is slow. I also have some unreleased CYOA I want to put out once my engine is ready for real (it does static and interactive). You don't really get all that meticulous noting your reasoning behind each of your choices the same way you would when building a spreadsheet. Like I have a notes column alongside my choices.I also hate how a lot of interactives hide choices and their requirements from you or collapse entire sections making it easy to miss stuff or hard to tell how long the CYOA you're about to invest time into really is.Many of the ICYOA interactives also look very carbon copy. Some people don't put enough effort into the visuals which imo doesn't feel that important for static (PDF cyoa can still be great), but interactive just has that vibe it's meant to be a more visual medium. Interactives can also shine when there are an absurd number of point types to track, but feels less necessary in the case of 2 pagers with only 1-3 point types.

I'm lacking alot of Profession talents that are powerful and different enough from Combat specialities which cost your stat points. The largest writing task are the missions and events, 15 x 10 Pre-Shattering ages (Age of Plenty, Age of the Erdtree, Liurnian Conflicts, Hornsent Genocide Age, Age of Order Fundamentalism), and then Post-shattering Ages (Night of Black Knives, Shattering War, Tarnished Return, Death of Demigods, Age of Stars)Even after then I need to make sure everything fits in lore timeline wise which is next to impossible now that I've watched 100s of hours of lore videos but I'll do my best and make up my own headcanon.Each mission has 2 outcomes and then there are greater modifiers which wildly change reality, like turning everything into the modern world, swapping genders of everyone, smashing Miquella's bussy. I've got so much fucking writing to do....If I've got time maybe I'll overhaul the Sorcery and Incantation system.I'm taking it very slow because I'm playing Elden Ring as well as reading a long cultivation novel right now I can only hope Voidsoul slows down too or else my CYOA will release way beyond when everyone's already forgotten about ER.
