Man, I cannot stand painting. It's so boring and annoying. Such a slog. Every time I paint I simply wish I could go back to the fun part - assembling, printing, kitbashing, sculpting, printing, recasting etc. Building your guy is so fucking fun. It's so damn satisfying seeing all those loose small bits merged into a bigger miniature with a cool pose and all.And then you have to fucking paint it. Dissonance between how fun creating mini is and how awful painting is insane to me. But without paint mini won't look right so I have to endure it. At this point I just try to block all those colors ASAP, simply so there is paint on them. I was finally able to email some pics from my phone, so here's some slightly better pics of my first attempt last week. Thanks to all anons who gave me helpful advice, my Vallejo paints came in and I finally got to use them today and they really did help a lot, especially for a newfag like myself. I like the white primer a lot, it makes it easier for the color to come through in fewer layers. Obviously there's still a large skill curve I gotta climb, but I'm having fun with it. Spent 4 hours painting 3 minis today and only got them partially done, but it was way easier with the Vallejo paints, and whenever the e-mail comes through I'll post what I did (but it might not be until tomorrow). Again, thanks to all the anons who offered me advice, some of you guys are pretty cool.

I'm lazy, so I rest my elbows on my thighs when I'm painting anyway. My biggest problem right now is technique, I'm trying to get down how much to water down paint, how much of it to have on the brush, twisting the tip before using it to apply detail, etc. I rewatched the two thin coats meme guy's basics video and he makes it look so damn easy, but they're the kinds of things that you can really only feel out for yourself through trial and error.
