>>98656469Oh shit my crappy BR Lizards actually got something
>>98656460Is JACE dead now or was it one of his token clones?
>>98656509Jace is dead.
can someone tl;dr the story for mewhy is Jace dead and what is Emrakul doing
>>98656514Rest in peace
>>98656531His killing created a million Jace Belerens.
>>98656531something still really bothers me about the rules changes to planeswalkers where they added "legendary" and made it so you can play like 7 different Jaces as long as they aren't the same exact one
Vorths of tg pls help Is that Nahiri on the Stoneforge Mystic art, or am I just being a racist with Arr Kor Rook Same
>>98656555It is Nahiri but yes you are also racist
>>98656555I'm 95% sure Nahiri was still locked in the Helvault during the events of Worldwake.

Hapatra, Desert's Fang2BBGLegendary Creature Human ClericWhen this enters, for each opponent, choose up to one target creature they control. put X -1/-1 counters on those creatures, where X is the greatest mana value among cards in your graveyard.3/3U
>>98656672Hapatra, Desert's Frost3ULegendary Creature Human WizardWhen this enters, for each opponent, choose up to one target creature they control. Tap those creatures and put a stun counter on each of them.2U: untap target creature.4/3U
>>98656687
>>98656677So Jace turned Amphonket from an Egyptian plane into a Hyperborea plane?
>>98656708Dunno. Apparently the flavor text hints that Hapatra slew Kefnet and stole his mystical lore for herself, so the broader implication is that the mortals overthrew their gods on Jace's Amonkhet.
>>98656517Jace was trying to create his own multiverse supposedly free of suffering and which instead was full of its own suffering because it turns out that you can't assume all suffering was at the hands of the few major multiverse-wide tragedies and specific personal decisions that happened to his friends, but the spell to overlay it onto the real multiverse (which would effectively overwrite some 9 trillion people) required him to use his physical body as a conduit. So making said body not be alive disrupts the spell. Jace had also been ripping out various facets of himself and his personality, the parts that disagreed with his plan, leaving only the raw logic. Said other parts agreed that death was the only way to stop the spell. Vraska did the killing herself because a dagger is a far kinder way to die than any methods a telepath would use on himself.Emrakul was in the moon on Innistrad, obviously. Jace had sent Tam, a person he'd created with a chunk of his own personality and curiosity (why he did so, he removed the part that could say). In any case, he'd sent her to Innistrad to show her that the original multiverse was full of suffering. While there, she reaches out mentally and finds Emrakul and has a chat with her, who becomes aware that Tam knows of a whole multiverse. And Emrakul, been fasting for ages. As the echoverse is being made real and after Jace's death, empowered by his spark, Tam mentally reaches out across planes to call Emrakul to the buffet table to prune this incorrect multiverse from the real one. What she does afterwards is unknown.
>>98656720>last part of Jace is a girlBasically created a whole multiverse for a coming out party
>>98656775
>>98656509Post yfw it IS actually a token and that's why Empower Jace is a mechanic
>>98656709way of the necromancer is cheap enough I think I might actually have combo potential, play a walker with a broken ult, sacrifice some creatures and activate it right away
>>98656808But I don't want to empower Jace!
>>98656775Technically it's the first part he pulled away, but not necessarily because it was a shard of himself. The story was fairly clear that he was making a person, but a cost of that spell was that a piece of yourself would be in the new person and not retrievable. I suspect that, at least subconsciously, he really wanted to create the daughter he couldn't have with Vraska. The first thing he says she isn't is a daughter, but Jace has lied to himself forever on many things and why else would she have come out part-gorgon? He had a message sent with the spark saying she was his fail-safe because sparks are at a premium in the multiverse, but it really feels more like passing down knowledge and experience rather than her just being Jace with a different body and name. We'll have to see what she does in the future, though.
>>98656818Do you think she will even show up in any of the upcoming sets next year?
Jace was so deep in the closet he basically created Narnia to come out
>>98656690>there is no suffering in my universe>t. Jace
>>98656822Garruk... of the veil?
>>98656822>>98656895he loves to accessorize
>>98656824Quite possibly. She was one of the focused characters for this arc, so she might not be one for the next one, but it depends on how the next arc starts. I could see her just staying on Vryn with most of her story relevance passed, or her to be involved now that she's 'whole' and curious to go planeswalk around. I think it also depends on whether they want to have her continue Jace's legacy as one of the faces of Magic or not. If so, she would need more screentime.
>>98656895Ye
Loads of Garruk art made for the set.
>>98656905
>>98656901I'm 99% sure there's gonna be a card thats like "Tam and Loot, Siblings" or something like that in 2027
Garruk was cool in the story but he was barely even in it.
Yesterday there was a lot of shitposting about Emrakul, which made me re-read the Eldritch Moon story.I'm actually behind, haven't read the Fracture or even summary posted here. But I know Emrakul appears. In what capacity, I wonder?Couldn't this just be all her keikaku? Everyone always being her pawns?
>>98656944that's probably why
>>98656993nah, she just takes the invitation that's offered to her
This story seems overly convoluted and haphazardly written. Shit was legit better when it was just Nicol Bolas going around, being an asshole because he wanted his full power back.
>>98657019*cracks open a coors light*it was better when the phyrexians were invading every weekend
>>98657019If anything the plot is fairly straightforward. For the most part it's very clear who is doing what, why they're doing it, and how they're feeling about it at any given moment.
>>98656818The story was pretty firm on her NOT being Jace's daughter (in a way that even the author said was to get people to understand that), but they never really come to a clear answer on what she IS in relation to Jace. She's his creation, and sort of a continuation of him, but very clearly her own person too? The best comparison I've seen is Doctor Who regenerations honestly, or a sort of reincarnation, but "pseudo-clone of Jace that gained her own personhood" is also sort of correct, and it's left up in the air how much of her is still 'Jace'.
>>98656944Ajani did even less. Garruk at least got to have a cool little moment where he helped the child Jace fragment calm himself. Ajani was just kind of... There, too.
Is there a storyline reason why the non-echoverse “Way of” enchantments have Empower Jace when they’re trying to kill him?
>>98657076Because the non-Theorist parts of Jace are working with them against the Theorist is my best take.
>>98657076They collected parts of him to use against the Theorist.
>>98656719Based they were all puppets of Bolas. That the red one got to live is a travesty of justice.
>>98657171Bolas wouldn't have done shit to Amonkhet in the Echoverse. Same as Phyrexians and Eldrazi, he's one of those things that would never get to exist.
>>98657187My point still stands, the red god from Amonkhet should be killed.Same with the gods of Theros.
Are you ready for 3 years of Planeswalker spam in Standard?
>they
>>98657236Yes, because Ruric and Thar are two separate people sharing the same body. That's how Ravnican ogres work.
>>98657236>"they" continuing to out ESLs at every turn
>>98657236You are a special kind of stupid. You don't even need the lore to know that this guy with two heads is two people sharing a body.
>>98657227Identity echo on a jace token is a real bummer
is kaito supposed to be a ftm tranny?
Why does Emrakul get all the cool personalization but Kozilek and Ulamog were put down like monsters?
>>98657247>>98657252>it's actually plural except when they/them decide to identify as singular
>>98656720>Jace had also been ripping out various facets of himself and his personality, the parts that disagreed with his plan, leaving only the raw logic.Ah so one of the writers got inspired by Elden Ring, which has Miquella divesting himself of his emotions and body parts to ascend to godhood, which also failed. Also Miquella is symbolically capable of growing into becoming a woman as he is a permement male child but could grow into womenhood. Like how jaces daughter/fem jace is the new Jace now.
@98657297>Also Miquella is symbolically capable of growing into becoming a woman as he is a permement male child but could grow into womenhood.Bad bait is bad.
>>98657290No, because the same is of them both. The card.
>>98657316Anon there's a bunch of clues in game about how Miquella, while male in game, is symbolically a woman>Miquella wears a white gown with pale gold hair, mounted upon the shoulders of his half brother/full brother Radahn creating a alchemical Rebis, the divine hermaphrodite made from the Red King and White Queen>St Trina, a goddess is his other half and literally his love that he gave up>Nascent Butterflies are his butterflies who look like they emerged from its cocoon for its entire life. Symbolic he his just born his whole life and has not grown into his true persona as either a man (Miquella) or a woman St Trina>All the other Empyreans are womenAnyway MTG can't do interesting characters like this even if they tried
is MTG dead yet? I just realized I havenet been paying attention for like 6 months which is really unlike me
imagine this card>when enters, opponent sacs a creature of their choise. when they do, this creature deals damage to them equal to their toughness.who is being dealt damage here, the creature to itself or to your the opponent?it's the creature to itself because it would say "to that creature's controller" in other case. still I cannot wait for wotc to fuck it up, that's what they do
>>98657347It depends on the sacrificed creature's preferred pronoun. If it doesn't identify as "them" then it will deal damage to the opp instead.
>>98657340What do you mean by MTG?
>A fearless Cabal knight, Danitha carries on the Capashen legacy. Since her father's death, Danitha has taken up his role as the right hand of Belzenlok and leads the demon's forces into battle against the foolish Benalish houses.>Many years ago, the Capashens were the mightiest house in all of Benalia. But the other houses envied their wealth and power, leading to a civil war that chased House Capashen into hiding. Among the Cabal, the once noble house found a new purpose, and a hereditary promise of revenge that has been passed down to Danitha.>Now, Danitha is the house's greatest weapon. A spear to lead the knights of the Cabal to glory against their enemies and raze Benalia to the ground in the name of both Capashen and Belzenlok.

>No single person has influenced Innistrad as much as Edgar Markov (no matter what Olivia Voldaren might tell you). Centuries ago, Edgar discovered and shared the secret to alchemical vampirism. Every vampire on Innistrad can count him as an ancestor in one way or another, and his grandson Sorin created the angel humans worshiped as their protector.>All of this is still true, even after Edgar's recent failed wedding/power grab. Freshly single, he has taken to mingling in the seedy taverns of Havengul. Some may call this hiding, but make no mistake—Edgar awaits his next chance to strike.>Innistrad survives. Edgar Markov doesn't care about the specifics.>Centuries ago, Edgar received the gift of lycanthropy and long life from a demonic patron. Soon his aristocratic family transformed into the first werewolf pack on Innistrad. When vampires began to appear on the plane, Edgar showed them who the true apex predator was.>But not everyone was happy with the Markov pack tearing a path across the plane. Edgar's own grandson Sorin, while in his human form, betrayed Edgar by creating and imprisoning him in the Helvault—a prison for anything that might threaten humanity.>Now that he's free, Edgar has quickly defeated the other packleaders of Innistrad who rose in his absence and united the howlpacks under his own banner. The Markov pack is stronger than ever. One group remains, hoping to keep him from total victory: Sorin, Avacyn, and their wretched legions of angels and undead.

>Abandoned at a young age, Kytheon Iora discovered early on that no one was ever coming to save him. While in prison, Kytheon learned sinister magic from a corrupt warden, who later offered him and his fellow inmates their freedom if they could defeat the titan, Heliod.>Kytheon succeeded, but only because his magic killed the other inmates by siphoning their lifeforce to strengthen him. He was the only survivor. Instead of feeling remorse, Kytheon only felt relief. Anyone who knew his past was dead. He was free to redefine his life.>For a time, Kytheon traded on his reputation as the bravest warrior on Theros. But eventually serving other people's expectations grated on him. Embracing the relief (and power) he felt after defeating Heliod, Kytheon realized if he killed all those who learned the truth about him, he could never be bound again.>No family, no friends, and nothing to anchor him—he took a new name to avoid being remembered as he once was. The man now called Gideon Jura revels in a freedom paid with drained and broken bodies left in his wake.
>>98657395Man that sounds like a neat story hook that last part, shame it doesn't matter.
>Kiora is a merfolk who has a deep connection to the creatures of the sea. She is seen leading krakens, leviathans, and serpents into battle, often with the goal of protecting their homes from invaders and tyrants.>Kiora is known to be arrogant and egocentric in her worst moments, which led her to stealing the magical bident of the sea god Thassa. At her best, she is a relentless defender who uses her powers to save others from danger.>While traveling the Omenpaths to new oceans, Kiora found herself unable to find a route back home to Zendikar. Along the way, she's discovered a world that might just possess the very thing she's wanted since learning her god Cosi was a lie.>The mightiest dragon rider on Zendikar is the merfolk Kiora. Years before her birth, Kiora's clan of merfolk fled the Kor Empire's grasp and found asylum in the geothermal pools of Akoum. Kiora and the generation of merfolk raised in Akoum embrace the fires and waters of Zendikar equally.>From a young age, the dragons in the sky captured Kiora's fascination. Her curiosity and bravery eventually influenced her to see the mighty beasts up close at the central volcano. Where others cowered in fear, Kiora came to revere the dragons and discovered she could magically communicate with them. Over the years, she earned enough of their trust to ride them.>Now, Kiora is known as the fiercest warrior in Zendikar's skies. She defends her home in Akoum and can melt the earth into molten lava with a hammer gifted to her by a Planeswalker.
For context, giving up "he or she" in favor of "they" is not exclusive to Magic.(early 2000s card vs current year)
>Alquist Proft is not real.>You may have heard the rumors. They spring up like weeds whenever a major crime happens. Perhaps you've seen the intricate corkboards with their string and portraits, their so-called clues. Or the allegations that an unseen mastermind has been controlling crime in Ravnica for years to some unknown end.>Ask yourself how this could be possible. An arson by a troupe of Rakdos pyromancers, the assassination of a lawmage, a bank heist in Orzhova itself, and the poisoning of a Simic gene vat—all linked? They have nothing in common. And yes, I've heard the theory that this was a distraction for the looting of the Boros armory. We've accounted for every spear and sword.>But people who look into the myth of Alquist Proft tend to go missing, so I'd suggest you stop here—for your own good.
Maybe I missed it at some point in time but was there ever an explanation for the black and white Ral Zarek?
>>98657395So Averclyn wasn't created then
>>98657435He was an early agent from the Echoverse to help secure some knowledge on Arcavios' merging, I guess? He shows up in very brief cameos in the story but doesn't really get up to much.
>>98657437>Planeswalkers, demons, renegade angels, flesh-eating frogs, and strange biomechanical invaders—nothing has broken Thalia's spirit yet.>Thalia has proven her valor time and time again. As the founder of the Order of Saint Traft, Thalia has always put the wellbeing of Innistradi people above everything—even her own faith.>After losing many in her order to the Phyrexian Invasion, Thalia has found herself working with Arlinn Kord to set up defenses all over the plane. Most people who wander into Innistrad via Omenpath don't survive, but wherever the next threat comes from, Thalia will be there to confront it.>Avacyn commands an undying loyalty from her flock of cathars. For many years, Thalia was no different. Other cathars looked to her for inspiration; when their faith wavered, they knew she could reinvigorate them. Eternal salvation was theirs … if only they served as best they could.>For her loyalty, Thalia was appointed guardian of the Helvault, where Avacyn stored her most fearsome foes.>When Thalia discovered that Avacyn's would-be allies Sigarda, Bruna, Gisela, and Liesa had been imprisoned within the Helvault, her unbreakable faith finally shattered. She abandoned her post to confront the archangel. Avacyn ordered Odric, Thalia's longtime comrade, to kill Thalia.>Wracked with guilt, Odric interred Thalia's relics himself. No one expected that her geist would protect the cathedral just as she'd protected the Helvault in life. Anyone, no matter who, can find shelter at Thalia's cathedral, where even Avacyn fears to tread.
I'm going to shamefully admit that I still want to make fanwalkers and junk. My current idea is that the missing colors from The Reaper King (blue & white) isn't just a loss in power for the scarecrow but created something tangible for him to search for. To reabsorb into himself and regain his might. I'm debating on what these "things" Reaper is searching for. Whether they should just be like an absurdly powerful item, or some type of fey life.
I hate that Theorist Jace was the "bad guy". Wouldve been cooler if it has been like, ambitious jace, or jace's desire to do good. Then Chandra et. al. Come across Logic and Reason Jace and say "Why didn't you stop this!?" and he says >"I was the first to go"
>Winter is a survivor in every sense of the word. He's been a calculating guide for a price, a traitor to the person he loved more than anyone, and—most notably—the reluctant right hand of Valgavoth, who rules the inescapable, plane-spanning rooms of Duskmourn. Trapped within the House's walls for over a decade, Winter lives a harsh, hardened life where trust is fleeting and altruism spells death. After several failures to please Valgavoth and his demands of conquest, Winter is now cursed to serve the demon's will, a fate worse than death awaiting his next misstep.>Imprisoned once again in Duskmourn, Winter is more alone than ever. But after witnessing planes beyond the House and the limits of Valgavoth's seemingly infinite power, he has something he never thought he'd have again—a glimmer of hope.>Winter is an unconventional survivor. Trapped for a decade within the inescapable, plane-spanning rooms of Duskmourn, he has become a powerful and cunning leader to all who follow him—even if the harsh landscape leaves them no other choice. After witnessing his best friend consumed by the House and hearing apparitions with their voice, Winter now believes that defeating Marina Vendrell will reverse all the deaths caused by her control over Valgavoth.>Increasingly lighthearted with his allies and ruthlessly calculating with his enemies, Winter now approaches taking down the House with a frightening vigor. He's not only committed to surviving but also getting his allies out. Armed with his trusty club and his intellect, Winter hunts Marina Vendrell to rescue her from herself—whether she wants to be or not.
>>98657469>Evil Marina lords over Valgavoth as the ruler of DuskmournSure that sounds fun.
>>98657465Theorist was broadly his stubbornness and his cold logic and unchecked ambition.

>>98657995...Weird criteria, but I can kinda see where you're coming from. Either way, this is the second-worst set of the year in my view (Marvel is slightly worse) and Star Trek isn't going to change that, as mid as it looks.
>>98658026Star Trek lets the most annoying person at your LGS laugh and slap his big fat gassy belly at the Go for the Throat + Captain James T. Kirk combo.
>>98657959The concept of a “hat” set isn’t just that characters from multiple planes show up, it’s that they show up in a genre unsuited for them. Core sets, for instance, aren’t “hat” sets because the characters are exactly where they should be, doing what they normally do.What makes a “hat” set is when you have stuff like a demon lord from a Slavic-inspired fantasy world show up in a cowboy hat. Gallia here isn’t Gallia as we know her, but she still exists in the context of a Greek mythology pastiche. And, to take a step further, the fact that this explicitly ISN’T the same Gallia as the one we know means that Gallia isn’t inexplicably out of character in the appearance in the way that Marchesa was when she decided to hang out in bars on Thunder Junction despite being a queen on Fiora.
>>98657959I think this alt-Gallia is more interesting than all the others that have been spoiled so far. That shit is sad and is what will likely happen to her when she dies regardless of this timeline bullshit. Like that is how a cruel afterlife can fuck that character in the hardest way imaginable. Everything feels like the laziest shit imaginable but Gallia getting totally fucked over feels like the only thing in this whole set that feels like someone put some effort into making this shit sad.None of these alternate universe characters makes any fucking sense apart from this Gallia, which we can pretend is like future version rather than an alternative version. It's like these characters are so fucking thin that you can colorshift them without any worry about whether or not it makes sense. There is no world where someone with Liliana's mentality aligns with white or Chandra being blue - these characters are a certain way and it's not these colors. This whole entire shitshow has not been a wasted opportunity but just another example of dogshit Wizards writing exploring ideas that have been shit in any work of fiction and I'm sorry you think Gallia is wasted but for me it's the only redeeming thing in this whole shitshow of a set. The worst shit in Magic is when Guff literally rewrites the future and this set has been basically all that but with the past, a whole set dedicated to the stupidest thing in Magic until now.
>>98658011
>>98658074>There is no world where someone with Liliana's mentality aligns with white or Chandra being blue - these characters are a certain way and it's not these colors. Are you actually retarded? The entire conceit is that, if formative events in the characters’ lives had played out differently, they would have grown into being different people. If Chandra’s father hadn’t died, a chain of events gets set in motion that results in her studying in more controlled circumstances and working with, rather than against, the consulate. If Gideon wasn’t taken under the wing of a good man while he was in jail, but was instead taught about life’s harshness by a corrupt warden, he wouldn’t have had his sense of justice. It’s very much a nurture-over-nature perspective, though one could make the point that the similarities that make them recognizable can be chalked up to the nature half of the equation.

>>98657965>disappointed by Gallia’s card in THB having so much working against it (card space wasted on a pointless tribal anthem, discard at random)>vaguely hoping that they give the qt satyr girl another card at some point that might be more interesting to tinker with>this insteadDamn you, monkey paw.
>>98658000Nice numbers. It is silly, but he had very much ripped out the parts of him that could nut up and do so. You'd think raw logic could go through with it for the results, but I guess the amount of emotion required to be a person still stopped him.
>>98658000Is there any male character that has the gumption to do anything? Jace, pussed out. Garruk, pussed out. Ajani, useless, didnt even have a chance to puss out. Sorin, absent, but wouldve pussed out. Tezz, cyberpussing elsewhere. The list goes on.
>>98658122Captain Kirk, Climbing A Mountain
>>98658122None of them have that Urza je ne sais quoi.
>>98658102>You'd think raw logic could go through with it for the results,He wasn’t “The Logician”, he was “The Theorist”. He could get everything in place, in theory. He could determine the course of action necessary to achieve his goals, in theory. But he couldn’t put it into practice because theory was all that was left. When you think about it, there are a lot of questions around why Jadzi felt it necessary to kill herself there. If she hadn’t, the aberrations would have been forced back into Jace’s head and could potentially have wrestled the Theorist into submission. It’s really difficult to come up with a good reason for her to take such an accelerationist action.
what do you guys think black and blue craterhoofs will do?
>>98658152I miss Urza like you wouldn't believe. This isn't just boomer talk, I genuinely think he was an interesting and well written character through all of his arcs from brilliant young man, to obsessed artificer, to guardian of the realm waging war, to early planeswalking adventures to slowly going insane realizing that he isn't omnipotent enough to fix the past, to enacting the grandest of all schemes at the cost of his own life (and the lives of many others, and he actually planned it that way). The guy was crazy, but he was crazy SMART.
>>98658161Something something "she saw the future and realised this was the way it was going", which feels like a bit of a cop-out. Maybe it'll lead to stuff down the line, but it does feel very strange for Jadzi to just go "oh good this is the one we're on" and... Make the Theorist's plan happen?
No side stories? I'm surprised, the premise feels ripe for milking.

>>98658208It leaves it a bit of a muddled mess what Tam is meant to actually be. Reincarnation? Clone? Her own thing that happens to have Jace's memories? Jace but trans? All of the above? A secret sixth thing?
>>98658232I feel like 'timeline shift' isn't as bad narratively as "entire alternate reality gets horrifically eaten by an incomprehensible monster".
>>98657768White got instant speed walker tutor.
>>98658243Doubly retarded as they very clearly wanted to infer that it was the child that he and Vraska couldn't have but then thought (wrongly) that it would be weird and give people the ick if he flat out created her. You can tell the author of the stories leaned hard on the "you look just like our daughter would" angle as much as they could get away with because it makes for a much more interesting story but eh.
>>98658243If they hadn’t literally made her a gorgon, it would have been easy.>little sisterAny other species and that could have worked. But making her a gorgon when Jace was slamming that snussy so hard and so regularly really puts that option pretty far from one’s mind.
>>98658094That ability is called armouring.
>>98658249If so, that’s even more reason to avoid emotional connection. People were fucking PISSED about losing KTK Tarkir, and that was with a bunch of “oh well you know maybe the clans could rise again” winks and nods. Letting people get really invested in the specifics of the Echoverse, only to then have the whole thing get eaten without any hint of a possibility of seeing it again, would not have gone down well.
>>98658161The way i interpreted it, this was for the sake of tam. If jace was stopped before he casted the spell, she never gets his spark, and the echoverse dies with her. She didn't give a shit about jace, but she at least knew about tam somewhat and probably liked her.
>>98658273Yet they have Jace, Lili, Tam and Vraska all say she's NOT his daughter. So now she's... She's just Tam I guess. Is Tam Jace 2.0? Probably not, but maybe? It's weird. I feel like I'd have been happier without the "Tam gets Jace's memories" bit, because that's a 'cleaner' end to Jace and a good fresher start for Tam.
>>98658260>but then thought (wrongly) that it would be weird and give people the ick if he flat out created herI’m pretty sure the actual reason is that they don’t want to be pushing the message that everyone needs to have kids to be fulfilled as a couple.

She wants to have her heart broken. She wants to see Vraska. She wants to swim in the sea. The thoughts are confusing, tantalizing. She didn't realize she could have wants like these. She's never had them before.>Tam grips her temples as the rest of her settles into place. Her cleverness shines and glimmers, stretching across her mind like constellations in a starlit sky. Her outlook fills as a dark, alluring lake in her heart, a deep understanding of the meaninglessness—and meaning—of it all. High up, near that starry sky, stands a tower, a place to watch from … and discover far-flung truths. Around her is a fence, an unbreakable barrier, from behind which she can keep her soul safe. Her mind is secured with the fortifications of a survivor; her hands tremble with the sense memory of a thousand handshakes and diplomacies; the space at her hip tingles with emptiness, having never known holster or knife; and closest to her heart is the assurance that no matter how little she has, she may always start over.I really don’t get the impression that she has Jace’s complete suite of memories. There’s always the chance that there’s a whole Jace hidden away in there to be reconstituted later, but I feel like Vraska would lose her patience with him if he did it again.

Introduce the spark rupture because there's too many planeswalkers and you want them to be special again, only to start making sparks easier to attain and distribute, thus undermining the whole point of the spark rupture.I know expecting shit to be thought-out is setting the bar too high for WotC where the story pretty much embodies all the "hype moments and aura" flaws, but it's really like they expect readers to be fucking goldfish with the story.

He wasn’t even really a villain at the end of it, there was no need for him to die to prevent things, and nothing of consequence ends up happening other than his death. It basically ends up as a very creative and messy means of committing suicide in a way that forces his friends to participate. Gideon, even if his logic was questionable, died for a reason. Tamiyo, whether or not the situation was bullshit, died as a casualty of war. Though it is ESPECIALLY bullshit that they also destroyed holo-Tamiyo for no reason instead of letting her exist as a quasi-kami character. Bolas didn’t even fucking die at the end of his villainous downfall.

Non-compleated cards etc. However, have his subconscious keep fixing other things he wish hadn't happened. Gideon is alive, never released the Eldrazi etc, everyone is flabbergasted but happy. Basically keeping colors the same but with updated mechanics.>set 2Jace realizes that his subconscious has improved a lot of things and consciously decides to keep going. New Phyrexia wouldn't have happened if there were no Phyrexia at all. No Phyrexia means no Brother's War or Mishra dying, Mishra and Urza make Gold Karn, Gold Karn makes Argentum, Zhalfir remains in place, Elesh Norn is just a regular angel etc. So here's the Planar Chaos with colorshifted cards. Shit going wrong is foreshadowed with a few of set 1's cards having evil versions.>set 3Now we get this set, Jace has gone too far and fucked up some things unintentionally. "Wrong" versions of cards like Ice Chandra and Ghalta triceratops (call em evilshifted or some dumb shit like that). Basically get the set as it is with Jacetice League trying to stop him, again with Jace token mechanic. End consequence is he dies, but the mana he built up to remake Magic flows into the creations of his fixed universe and makes certain elements of it persist, whether good or bad (Gideon lives, Emrakul escapes, Zhalfir and Argentum remain in place, that kinda stuff).

I guess the only mono-green fliers we're getting in standard are the omen dragons and the cow head.
>>98658870>What if we took this old card, but made it mechanically fit with a different color identityYeh that's kinda gay. The extermination of the whole echoverse in the astonishing amount of literally 1 (one, uno, einz, ichi) set must be one of the most retarded decisions JOTC have made alongside polluting all formats with UB garbage, probably another one of the purposely sabotaging attempts they have doing against their own game history to force outsiders IPs
What will happen to the Jacetice League now that it's lost its figurehead?
>>98659058Be replaced by Teferice league, an improvement in every single way :^)
Disney sabotaged the global supply chain to hurt the release of the premier UW set of 2026.https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/announcements/reality-fracture-delays-in-select-regions
>>98658995Jace keyword would only show up in the third, rest would be distinctly non-Jace. Actually have some substance with two alt history sets instead of the shotgun blast they did with literally whos and every other card being EMPOWER JACE
reprint Dismember into standard
it's crazy to think wilds of eldraine is still in standard lol

>>98659153>Actually have some substanceNow you see the problem here is now we're inserting shit WotC never did and would never do. Would it make the set better? Yes. However that's definitely not what they would actually do even if you forced them at gunpoint to make 3 sets of this.

I'm looking for feedback on my 'brew'. It's a backport of Montolio's vintage UW cats list and a reinterpretation of the UW cats shell that people have currently been playing in Legacy which runs the full tempo suite of Brainstorm, Ponder, FoW, Daze, Flow State; I think that's far too much and dilutes the white weenie plan, so I stripped it back to the essentials. I've been playing it on Endstep and have only lost 1 match so far, although I'm not sure of the average player skill on there. I mostly play in Paper so some card choices are tuned for my local meta, which seems to have Doomsday, Tron, Welder and Lands/Depths as staples that show up every time. The deck feels powerful and can operate on just 1 or 2 lands quite easily with the cats quickly snowballing out of control.Slots that I'm unsure about are Hydroblast and Deafening Silence. We occasionally get Storm at my LGS but I wonder if it's necessary assuming I would be on the play and have access to Daze + some 1 mana interaction. Gaddock Teeg hoses Tron completely with the only answer being Dismember and Lavinia also helps with that matchup and against Storm. I haven't had to cast Hydroblast yet online but I imagine it's relevant against Storm (Squelcher, Gamble, Burning Wish) and any red Ancient Tomb deck.I'm also unsure if I should keep the Horizon Canopy or swap it for a third Tundra.

>>98659602I have zero experience with this archtype but I think it would be funny if you ran jegantha as a companion
>>98658060No that's wrong. Hat Set originated in Murders at Karlov Manor referring to that fact that it was a a Ravnica set but everyone was a detective. This is because it comes from the Star Trek trope called "Planet of Hats" where the planet is just same as earth except everyone wears a hat.
>>98659491That Mirrored pairs will always appear in the same pack as each other...even though there was commander products that did this year's ago but since it was a side set it doesn't count :^)
>>98659197>Standard is flourishing right now, and we are really happy with the state of things>So we will be extending Standard rotation another year for 4 years of Standard!
>>98658406Better than fell but harder to cast.
>>98659491>>98659519>>98659523It was the mirrored cards in packs. They figured out a way to have matching pairs in single boosters and that was the big thing.
>>98659718this would be good actuallyevery standard extension brings us closer to straight up remaking another format that is just standard but shorter

Is it bad that I want to see Atraxa in the set, even if it doesn't make sense? Like, we could probably see her pre-compleated for one version and her remains on the other; since Gideon shows they are still showing that he's dead
>>98660087That sort of thing'd probably be in the precon, they don't need a counterpart there. Tamiyo might show up there too, if she doesn't have a main set with a counterpart being... Her Journal I guess?

I bet you all the cool interesting color swap cards are in the commander cards.
Good Premodern morning, Premodern General. What Premodern related things will you do today? When did you last play Premodern? When will you play Premodern next?
