However the underlying play pattern I envisioned was Runick from YGO which I feel is a fair bit off unless R&D suddenly decides to print lots of exile mill for EDH (not likely because mill both sucks and there's not a lot of demand for better mill when Bruvac + mill half cards generally fill the niche).

current glup shitto that I am interested in optimizing for no reason. it's a 3 mana rampant growth with set mechanic but...>up to 2 cast triggers>leaves graveyard>power matters>discards for value>mills for valueit has a lot of little subtle things going on, I just can't seem to find the perfect commander for it. 3 mana, 4+ power commanders, like Baylen or Rhonas can turn it into an Explosive Vegetation, but I feel like there must be even better. Teval can mill over it and cast it for 1, but that requires you to miss his attack trigger most of the time which sucks. Toph can discard it for value when she etbs, which is great, but then she's 1 power short of casting it for 1. Terra can cast it for 1 if she just happens to mill over it with her ETB but you need to get lucky. The search continues...

As of right now R&D would prefer to just directly support theft because a bridge card would be somewhat volatile design space (e.g. Thought Scour is now pseudo Ancestral Recall, depending on execution). Mill support in general is a bit sparse because it's complained about a lot, but it also sucks really bad (even Bruvac isn't really mill when most people build him more like a combo deck with Maddening Cacophony), so it's hard to justify finding it space in a set when it works on such a different axis. A comparison I would give is how poison counters don't really show up unless the set is focused on them because they don't do anything without a full suite of support.

Torn on which direction to take this deck via edits. Sometimes it feels like it's in desperate need of more answers. But then it hits one of its artifacts -> mana outlets (Urza or Ironheart) and feels extremely explosive. I'm looking to move away from the polymorph subtheme, but even cutting the outlier cards there's so few flex slots. The card draw outlets are just too necessary to cut, the tutors too valuable. Godo and Gilgamesh remain god-tier even if you're hard-casting them. Same with Iron Man and Ironheart. Slapping down a 4-mana Starwinder feels quite good as well.Thinking about greedily cutting Cyclonic Rift for a Chrome Mox, which in turn will take the place of a land, just to add some acceleration to the deck. In so doing Cyclonic Rift would become Soul Immolation, a pseudo wincon if I ever see Excalibur on my commander or a souped-up Godo/Gilgamesh.Also eyeing Dain Ironfoot from The Hobbit. Crazy effect in the deck for a 15-cent card. But damn there's just so many "cute" cards that don't equate to playing a responsible game.

I went to a TCG tradeshow that was being held in my city. I was advertised as a generic TCG event, no specific game was mentioned. I go there, it is packed, but it is 99.9% PokemonTCG. Of the 0.1% that wasn't PokemonTCG, I saw Riftbound, Yugioh, and Lorcana. If you want to lean into tokens, Elesh Norn Grand Centobite is a good hit in basically any situation you could be polymorphing in. If you don't want a token focus, there are even more options. Astral Dragon and Nicol Bolas Dragon God are both at absolute worst a free respin. Nicol Bolas God-Pharaoh at worst exiles 2 cards from each opponents hand before he can get killed.
How do you store your decks /tg/? I have mine in double sleeves but it has to go into two deck boxes and I would like to reduce that to one. I've had a lot of deckboxes that reek after buying them so something that's not stinky would be good.

Do anons realize the thing that makes polymorph good is that it's supposed to cost much less than the creature you're polymorphing into? Even assuming you're always hitting something like an Emrakul that has reasonably sturdy protection, this whole line starts with 5 mana as a sorcery that sacrifices for targeted effect rather than for cost (or nontargeted effect). It genuinely just comes down to "counter the 5-mana obvious combo chokepoint or blow up the token they targeted." Creature removal is abundant in every color. Surely you can hold up 1 mana to explode a 1/1 white Soldier creature token.
