Because the commander gives you the consistency and having that much mana from turn 3-4 on gives so much value it lets you be way less "efficient" than you need to be on turn 6-7 when you'd normally have that much mana.It makes cards like Razia able to be played while they're still actually a threat which is way more meaningful than building a "bad" voltron deck and getting it removed. ymmv but I think that would be a far more satisfying way to play a Razia "cool angels" deck.

One of my opponents today insisted his deck was casual. His commander was mono green Eladamri, Korvecdal with a proxied Gae's cradle. It's "Casual" he explained because the deck has 50 creatures. All the creatures were landfall based, or bombs like void winnower and craterhoof. Do people really?
