So what happened to all the prominent Skaven from Fantasy in AoS? Snikch? Thanquol? Ikit? Queek? Throt? All dead or did some survive? Also do we have any examples of how powerful Verminlords are? Have they done anything cool or major yet?
>>
>>98783006
I want armored idk infantry, love that drawing. idk and soulblight gravelords are my fav factions. Though I want less shark riders stuff and more having them as horrific beasts they barely control and unleash on the battlefield (like merwyrn style weird stuff or maybe a burrowing bobbit worm)
>>
>>98783062
thanquol is still around because of great horned rat bullshit
ikit survived somehow, is now called ikrit, basically a skaven cyborg now with all his modifications to stay alive. Appeared in a novel iirc where he attempted to reverse-engineer stormcast immortality

Lets say, hypothetically, the first book of these end times2.0 gets released in October.
Do you think that's going to be the book with the ironjaw character? When we know one of the opening moves of that campaign is lizardmen and dwarfs making an attack against chaos? And that we have a skink character and a large wave of dwarf models already announced and waiting for a release date?
Do you think they are going to cram both the skink, the dwarfs and the ironjaw character in this one month? Do you think the ironjaw is simply going to get released before them this month?

Do everyone a favour and get muppets out of your mouth, you're the only one with a hand stuck in his ass here.
>>
>>98783062

Skaven life expectancy is like 40, its fucking ludicrous that any of them would even survive past ET, much less the thousands of years leading up to AoS.
WFB Ikit was a few centuries which was considered a freak outlier and entirely due to his augmetics.
The idea that Skaven tech hasn't progressed at all in that time is already very silly, but for it to also have the same big names is just fucking lazy.
>>
>>98783068
It's kind of funny there's not really a Beastmasters gimmick anywhere in AoS anymore since they retired the dark elves stuff from CoS. You have random monsters on chains here and there but no real beast units outside of mounts and dogs.

Wonder when they'll announce the end-of-edition campaign. Gotta be within the month or so if they plan to drop three or four books before they move on to the new edition rollout next summer.
>>
>>98783698
They will, just like they did for UW and Kill Team. It's an internal policy for the low demand games where releases are infrequent next to main games.
We're getting a new rulebook and warscroll catalogue with fluffy stuff in a box with terrain alongside bundles of Vs boxes which satisfies the rules for allies and narrative progression. Ogres and Ironjawz get a box too but it's existing units, nothing new.
>>
>>98783683
at some point, you just gotta accept that women look like that as far as warhammer minis are concerned, just like this is a woman as far as stick figures are concerned.
>>
>>98783708
If I were gw, knowing that the sheep customers will go in a panic or freeze their purchases the moment the rumors are confirmed even further, I'd delay the books as much as possible and roll them out very fast in the span of like 3 or 4 months early next year and immediately follow them up with an uplifting reveal of the new edition to regroup the sheep into a hype train.
>>
>>98783708
Depends, 3rd edition was revealing stuff in May but 40k the year prior was in March.
>>
>>98783756
They wouldn't bother if sales weren't good. I doubt AoS sells tbhon because I never hear anything praise the fluff within but 40k EoE sells gangbusters so they have to do the same thing every edition on the off chance it works

>>
>>98783727
The 'eavy metal style fucking sucks at handling faces, but there is a general problem with a lot of modern GW female sculpts basically just being a man. I'm obviously not saying every female sculpt should look like a pulp bombshell from the later half of the 20th century (would be nice though), but I'd be nice to have women who actually look discernably like women.
I've bitched about it before, but I'm so fucking sick of this bullshit universalism in so much modern media. I don't give a fuck that there are women in Warhammer, I just want their inclusion to actually have some fucking thought put into it like it used to, and for that choice to tell me something about the faction, species, or character.

They should. This game is still 95% men and 3.5% (male) perverts in wigs. You'll never have any real numbers of real women in the game because of what it is (a wargame)
>>
>>98783769
I completely forgot 40k got a EOE campaign in 10th. I know that most people didnt bother buying the books because they phoned in a anvil of apotheosis that got axed when 11th dropped like 2 months later, but besides that I cant really recall what if anything happened. I know something was supposed to happen with tzeentch and...necrons? They're still on necrons right? I wonder if they're gonna do something tyranids now that the lag of leviathan has caught up.
Anyways as for third editions EOE, I guess khul ascending was cool. Didnt like Phonecium getting blown the fuck up, but it be what it be.

Not quite, any discussion on the topic would have porn tag philosophers easily distinguish at least 3 types of evil that can be attributed to women:
-the one intrinsic in the common woman's behaviour and interests
-the one that's unisex and is expressed and "worn" exactly the same by both men and women
-evil as an aesthetic, more than a genuine behaviour and defiance of morals

the latest trend is clearly highlighting the latter two, as most of the evil this genderbent malfoy would be doing would be the same as what his male version would also do

We went from shitty dwarf edition (early 1e) to kino elf edition (late 1e and 2e) to shitty dwarf edition (4e, 3e didn't have much for either).
Consequently 5th will be an elf edition and a second golden age for aos
>>
>>98785751
elves and dwarfs are irrelevant, it's whoever gets in the starter that shapes the edition
>1st edition: chaos: lame and unable to lift off
>2nd edition: death: kino from launching campaign to ending campaign
>3rd edition: destruction: absolute collapse of any and all hype
>4th edition: chaos: lame and unable to lift off
5th edition will be chaos again, so we're staying on this wavelength for some years still, but in 6th aos will have a growth spur that will make the warhammer settings around the year 2000 as lame as aos at its launch by comparison
>>
>>98785806
Why would it be Chaos again if 4th was just Chaos? Shouldn't it be Death again?
>>
>>98785826

>>98785893
That’s the name of the series, anon. Even then GW’s cheeky dumbasses could be like “they launched in 2025 and we’re in 2026, so that counts as 2 years”.
>>
>>98785893
those "articles" are insulting at the best of times with the low res, shitty digital art they post instead of actual artworks, but the aos ones are especially foul with how they pretend fantasy never existed
>>
>>98785907
they don't mention WFB artwork so they could do TOW articles later when there is a TOW release
>>
>>98785907
You’d get people getting upset that aos included fantasy art in their article so it makes sense to just isolate the two.
>>
>>98785866
The StD release was pretty weird to begin with. New chaos warriors and knights were locked in the monopose start collecting! set for ages from 2019 to 2023. Four years is an entire release cycle. The current chaos battle line is 7 years old from that perspective. That's longer than the lifespan of fatcast or sacrosanct. I don't want or need a refresh of those units but it's entirely feasible they plan to churn the battle line infantry of their third most popular faction every seven years.
>>
>>98785903
People who do that shit grind my gears, like they're trying to prematurely age me. No nigga, I still got until august 2027 before I panic.
>>
>>98785826
It being chaos again and especially StD sounds like the worst possible option which means it's probably true.

I looked at some other Necromancer models for staff inspiration, including Sienna from Vermintide. I'm thinking maybe a scythe from a Hexwraith would work well for it. Or maybe use the other bits to make a balefire brazier. Only issue with the scythe is that it might look weird going from the metal of the war hammer handle to the wood of the scythe.
I'm also at a bit of a loss about what to do to cover up the comet on the end of the belt. I could try my hand at sculpting like a frayed edge or something but I'm not sure.

>The Cairn Wars
>The death of Behemati Queen Bavmoda sparks a succession crisis between her son Ogg and daughter Uggra. Seeking power, Uggra and her supporters leave Verdia for dismal Erosia, where they ally with its grim, barrow-building kings. Bitter battles are fought between the two gargantuan tribes and the pipsqueaks who revere them, but when Uggra eventually falls under mysterious circumstances, many gargants enjoy the authority they hold in Erosia and refuse to return home.
>Gargantuan breeds
>The Cairn Kingdoms of Erosia, just over the mountains East of the Scabrous Sprawl, were once grim territories where gargant clans fought alongside tribal lords of death in their interminable wars. The bodies of these titans, as well as those of other gargants across the realms who entered into league with the faithful of Nagash, were buried in long barrows like their puny allies, still clad in arms of morbid aspect

I only got the first on the second hand market, but apparently you have to hit a threshold of purchases to get one.
I used to think it was something like 50€, so I was holding off from buying the seraphon scenery for that, since you can't get it at much of a discount elsewhere anyway, but apparently the threshold is 80€ now instead.

>>98788693
It just didn't have enough meat to it. Their basic infantry and elite infantry looked too close to each other, as did most of their heroes. That infantry was also in kind of odd symmetrical poses. Only thing they really had going for them was the magmadroth but one cool centrepiece can't do much.
Idk if your army is going to be 90% infantry you have to at least make the infantry distinct. As it stands armies were basically just a sea of identical midgets with the odd dragon. Not really the most appealing of concepts for an army.

You can totally make a whole faction out of the concept of dwarf slayers brought to eleven and made into a society, but you can't make a whole faction out of 2 infantry kits whose only significant difference is the equipment, and one monster.
All factions need a roster of kits for things of different silhouettes, sizes, unit types, and elements of their culture to make people care about their subfactions, not just equipment for abstract gameplay purposes.
>>
The problem with Fyreslayers is not that they were unfixable, GW just literally never even made an attempt to do anything with them.

Honestly, given that even their early 2E battletome was already pushing dwarf soup and a new faction of dwarfs emerging, they probably never got much attention in part because KH was in the works forever, likely delayed by years.
>>
>>98788747

The Warqueen just has generic fluff, a leader who keeps her position with victory in ritual duels against rivals. C-section and womb surgeries leave a horizontal scar at the top of the groin.

Yeah that's the upside here, there's about 3 million generic dwarf infantry proxies out there, including from gw themselves. Evening anons, a little query for you:
How would you rank each faction in terms of how much they need another wave, be that refreshes or new units?
https://tiermaker.com/create/age-of-sigmar-4th-ed-tiers-list-17172367
Tried to take a crack at it and while there's some obvious placements (stormcast and idoneth at both ends of the spectrum for example), there's also some more ambiguous armies who could easily move up or down a tier depending on your persective.
>>
>>98790866
So no army is perfect in your opinion? It's either too bloated or not enough?
>>
>>98790886
I would consider gits and skaven basically perfect, stormcast and StD maybe a little bloated, and sbgl bloated in some ways (random named characters) and lacking some options in other ways (e.g. liches)
That much modularity is a little bit overkill for a tier list though, so they all get lumped together in the highest tier.

just an example. regiment1 is 40 wounds and retain 5++ as long as the butcher and tyrant lives. regiment2 is 58 wounds with a 6++ as long as Redd lives. Redd does much more interesting things than Regiment 1 at least in my opinon. Most our lists take Redd and 10 Gluttons, so there's not much flex to bring units that do the same. The other half of the army is either monsters, cav or hunters.

i finally got a new bookshelf for all my models and picked up some cheap lights i wanted to try
heres my rats
>>
>>98791834
Cool rats anon how many points is that?
I never gave a single fuck about skaven whatsoever and I still don't really care about their lore but fuck me their new models are some of gw's best. I guess I could probably get the skaventide spearhead for pretty cheap online? Must be a bunch of secondaries who got the box and then got burnt out by painting 40 clanrats or whatever the actual number is.
>>
>>98791861
idk around like 2500 i think, i just collect and paint, havent really had anychances to actually play aos, trying to get my friends to give spearhead a try, but my locals is mostly 40k and i dont wanna bust out admech until they get a new codex
>>
So if verminlords are the greater daemons of the ghr, does he have lesser daemons? I assume the actual skaven skaven are essentially his beastmen variant?
Also does hashut have daemons, like at all?
>>
>>98791834
Impressive, very nice
>>
>>98791932
Haven't read their battle tome, but if hashut doesn't have demons what powers the daemon engines? I guess undivided daemons?

Grey seers would be, like, daemon princes by skaven standards. Also, there used to be things like brood horrors. At this point though, GW is pretty religious about avoiding describing a unit that doesn't already have a model. So unless they want to start selling them you might never see intermediate demons in the lore.
>>
>>98792158
Well they power them with captured daemons of other gods / undivided, using one's own daemons seems counterproductive

Lesser daemons of the GHR can't manifest because the moment they do, a larger daemon will manifest and consume it. So you have a lot of little formless beings too scared of one another to complete their form and the greater daemons too strong to be consumed by others.

I played for the first time the other day, Ogors vs. some Skaven. Lost horribly but had fun. Genuinely feel like this game feels more like a wargame while 40k feels like an overrated board game these days.
>>
>>98792431
That's awesome dude, take some pictures if you're willing to show off.

I haven't played 40k, but I think what surprised me about AoS as my first "wargame" is the physicality of it. So much of good play comes down to things like staying exactly 12.1 inches away, or screening things just right, or spreading out a unit to stop deep strikes onto the backside of an objective etc.
>>
>>98784728
Only elves have feminine models anymore, it's all gender nonconforming?
>>
So tiresome to hear people complain about models they don't like instead of posting minis they do like and own
>>
>>98791614
More??? I love this

I think the darkoath lady needs a more feminine face and larger tits. I like her shield tho. You got models too ya?
>>
>>98792801
Never did finish the dude on the left, but I've always had a soft spot for this model. I own these 2 and a half-done Ogor butcher kitbash from waaaay before the refresh.
>>
GW model assembly is funny sometimes
>>
>>98792863
The new one? Ya she's really not identifiably female at all. Honestly I thought it was some kind of barbarian twink like the second coming of Sigvald. At the very least she should have some kind of visible breast bulge.
>>
>>98789493
How's it stack up to Holocure?
Yeah yeah, I know >vtubers but that game is legitimately one of the best games in that entire genre and it's fucking free. If they want me to consider spending money on this it has to be at LEAST comparable.
>>
>>98792911
Ah, so it can easily be thrown on a different head with a simple saw cut
>>
>>98793107
I really appreciate it because painting that face would have been hell otherwise. He's still getting sub-assemeblied because the underside of big cloaks are the bane of my existence, but at least I don't have to actually cut his head off or anything.
>>
>>98793068
>If they want me to consider spending money on this it has to be at LEAST comparable.
I mean, the demo is on Steam. You might be able to get a good idea of how it squares up.
>>
>>98793230
I would but I'm a touch busy at the moment.
>>
>>98792911
My favorite is the underworld stormcast where one of the pieces is the dude's legs, his head, and a single cylinder connecting the two.

>>

No, it's not actually that one, it's an entirely different one with BOTH legs and no helmet.
>>
>>98793388
They did that both in Emberguard and Harrowdeep starters.

I wanna see the kitbash, ogre butcher kitbashes were essential until the refresh
>>

i cant believe the game didnt have stormfiends before, thats genuinely so fucking insane to me

I think skaven should have fucky wucky upside down artillery that burrows through the ground and leaves gnawholes for rats to teleport through
>>
>>98793498
They're end times slop
>>
>>98793629
Gnawholes in general need to be more prominent with how potentially game changing they are

stormcasts aren't eternal

that's it
>>
>>98793498
I mean skaven in whfb didn't have stormfiends for like 3 decades
>>
>>98793498
there were mods and rat ogres already came with drills and wrecker balls, so their absence wasn't THAT felt
>>
>>98794165
>>98794218
Really weird to play it up in the way they did when we've known about this since 1st edition.
>>
>>98794309

they said it two times in teasers and then nothing
>>
>>98793498
Tomb kings didn't have the lord version of their liche priest until just a few weeks ago. Creative Assembly works at its own pace.

it's called euthanasia, and it's ethical!

not really, no

The little dudes really do look good in teal.
>>
>>98794578
its good but I would like it a lot more if it was more flat or matte.

Is that just an unpainted model superimposed into the picture
>>
>>98794578
Very early after the release I recall seeing someone with Helsmiths painted in an orangeish pink with teal/blue accents that looked quite neat; really wish I could re-find them.
>>
>>98791932
There are occasional mentions of weird daemonic things associated with Skaven, like the rat-faced ticks and fleas summoned by great plagues, but nothing that's the equivalent of bloodletters and such.

>>

Save for the purple textiles it's close to the Ur-Zorn scheme.
>>
>>98794578
They look better in everything that's not the official scheme. Quite impressive, in a way

honestlyy??? looking at them again, initial response was an overreaction. they look bretty gud i reckon the range has grown on me.
>>
>>98795148

ick
>>
>>98795220
They are shamefully bad and no amount of coping will change that fact.
>>
>>98795220
I really like them but also can accept that some of those faces are bad. Maybe can be mitigated by a better paint job but I’m banking that there will be enough head options to have them all bearded. The clangunner rifles are growing on my but the hand cannons are great. Rest of the range rules.
>>
>>98795299
>but also can accept that some of those faces are bad
This is both true of most kits that GW puts out and also a complete nonissue. It's the sort of thing that only retards who don't own any models stress about, as opposed to just not using heads they don't like.

>>98794374

>>98795094
It would be cool if they expanded on that kind of thing in its own unique way rather than just trying to make equivalents, though I don’t know what else they could do
>>
>>98795148
>>98795194
It looks good because it's nmm and chorfs are made for nmm.
>>
>>98793068
Never played holocure but warhammer survivors is a barebones reskin of vampire survivors with nothing new added except some of the weapons give you a follower that holds it. It's pretty shit and doesn't have anything new or even anything innovated upon in other survivors clones.

That said, the AoS mode is better than the 40k mode where the weapons are ass.
>>
>>98795220
I think people here were pretty fair to them. Infantry sucks ass but the rest is neat.

Anyone have any idea what this guy could be a proxie for in AOS? Also is he decently sized or tiny
>>

Looks like a daemon prince to me.
>>
>>98795954
generic demon prince or belakor if you give it a larger diorama base
>>
>>98795220
the basic melee and ranged troops are not something any amount of shilling could convince me to spend money on.

the rest of the range is okay though. the elites with the bun helmets are kinda goofy but luckily they have another helmet that looks okay

too much teal, not enough magenta. the scheme doesnt even follow its own conventions. the crown gem and sash define magenta for accents while the armor is teal, but then for some reason decides also to make most of the cloth teal, and also to make most of the gems teal and also make the beard rings teal when jewelry has already been picked out as gold, and also neglects to put any gold on the fully teal runic jangle on his belt. the weapon also lost the gold ornamentation from the rest of the mini that should have been carried over to the pommel and blade setting.

good color pallet but too much inconsistency in material color coding in favor of just blasting the entire model with a firehose of teal.
>>
>>98783006
What kingdom hearts character is this?
>>
>>98795954
Could be fun to convert into a Verminlord of Skryre
Size-wise he's slightly bigger than a Daemon Prince
>>
>>98796117
I was gonna say tldr and that you're a retarded autist but honestly I decided to turn my brain on for two seconds and I actually agree with everything you said so uuhhh my bad retroactively
