Go back to the previous system of faith points, which you can spend to perform miracles, which are either a list of generic miracles in the codex or they're an ability listed for each unit in their datasheet. Yes this is exactly what it was editions ago, and yes it would essentially involve memorizing yet another special rule for each unit, but just giving them a cool powerful thing they can do once per turn per faith point you spend is better than the RNG dice system. Come to think of it, daemons really don't sport a lot of fur, do they. Even daemon versions of normally furry or hairy animals (e.g. flesh hounds) are more scaly than anything.
