if I flicker her while having another attacking creature, does she come back in attacking or does she have to be on the field for the replacement effect to work on only others?
Gobanon, I took another stab at the skeleton for Gut, this time I made an effort to actually make it look like it belonged to her rather than a generic token.
Trek showing banger after banger
>>98869073>(((bajoran)))Ew.I mean UB is already gross, but that really kicks it up a notch.
>>98869073I didn't think they'd ever print something like this. That's wild. First Trek card so far I've been interested in. Reason to bring out Grave Titan again. Just to be sure, if a thing quipped with Wand Of Orcus has double strike or first strike, this would make the zombies that the damage trigger generates enter attacking in time for regular combat, right?
Have you guys played 2 colors without fetchlands? Is it like night and day?
>TQIt's a tie between Oloro or Ojer Axonil
>>98869056>TQ:Avacyn, Angel of HopeShe might be babbys first MTG waifu but dammit I still love her
>>98869061Yeah I've played 5c without actual fetches, they are good especially if you play with the top of your deck but far from required Most of the time panoramas or the mh3 landscapes are good enough for color fixing
>>98869132yesthey printed a card in tmnt that first strikes to steal an attacker from the opponent's graveanything that enters that way can only do regular strike damage though and anything that enters after that will be attacking thin air
>>98869056>TQwinter orb and 2nd place isn't even close
Trek making GOATed cards
>>98869168Damn, what you used? All checklands and triplets?
>>98869228the way they're making a legendary card for EVERY single character to appear on more than one episode in the entire franchise actually communicates fear that UB is a mistake and they'll never get to return to any of this for a second chance. No design space is being left untouched.
>>98869245Depending on the deck Id throw the bounce lands in too Same with pain landsBasically any time there's decent lands in standard I pick up a playset The reveal lands have legs in 2 color, fast lands, slow lands, filter lands, check lands, tango landsIn two color especially you can get away with having like 20 basics especially if you know you lean on one color more than the other
>>98869174Thanks. I figured that would work that way but I wanted to be sure. Definitely the kind of card that makes me want to recheck my bulk for.
I come from the futureThe newest jeskai commander "double whopper menu with large fries" is making quite a ruckus in edhFortunately you can counter its ability with the new artifact, "nike air jordan 1 retro high", which has been reprinted to hell and is only the cost of a loaf of bread, $137
>>98869271Yeah like how making a card for Tom Bombadil meant they thought they wouldn't get to do another LotR set, right?
>>98869318That's a nice strawman mr. apples-to-oranges, your statement that has nothing to do with what I said totally trumps my assertion.
>>98869301Damn that sounds terrible, I hope things get better for you in 2028
>>98869301Speaking of RuckusThe Boondocks set is fucking fire
Surely you're going to put this in your deck right?
>>98869343Idk how people still get this wrongBoondocks, while a large SL, was not a full setYou know, like the Heroes of the Revolution SL
>>98868096I think I'll replace (or include this in addition to) idyllic tutor with this in my sythis list, thanks for sharing. I don't think it's so odd that an uncommon from the latest set is still rather cheap. Also, 3 mana tutors are pretty slow, all things considered. Enlightened tutor is the gold standard and it's 1 mana and at instant speed, and it is card advantage negative like this creature is as well, idyllic tutor is a direct one for one by comparison. I'm interested in this because it's a green creature which means it can be searched up with Green Sun's Zenith which idyllic tutor can't, and having more options for your toolbox is always good.>>98869347Funny that this works with mana abilities. I don't think it's impactful enough to matter most of the time though. Best case you name a repeatable ability that they intend to use a lot, but barring that you get maybe 1 bolt a turn against one guy.
>>98869352And frankly, it had nothing on the Desperate Housewives SL, those girls absolutely wreck at the table.
>>98869347Can you name the Empower Jace Joken?
>>98869378No, that is not a card name it is a token.
>>98869352The heroes of the revolution is 100% going to be a secret liarHoly shit google sucks so bad I can't even find the che guevara RK Post token Get your shit together alphabet
I just get a annoyed every time I see something from Nu-Trek since it always sticks out like a sore thumb visually compared to stuff from the "prime" timeline, even the Enterprise stuff is guilty of this. I'll gladly defend Lower Decks as the only thing to come out of that era that actually looks and feels like Trek but throwing designs lifted straight from the cartoons next to depictions of real actors just clashes and looks out of place. I'm sure it was part of the contract but having characters from STD or Picard next to Sisko or Janeway is just Paramount trying to gaslight people into thinking that anyone remembers or enjoyed any of those shows.
>>98869378Is there a card whose name is Empower Jace, anon?
>>98869381>>98869387Sorry im new. Damn. It was either that or Treasure as something universal-ish.So tokens aren't cards in the way that the game defines them?
>>98869073pls respond. I'm pretty sure you have to have her on the field for the effect to kick in so flickering her after blockers but before damage wouldn't make her an unblocked attacker but I wanna make sure
>>98869274And how do you calculate how many you need? Its still around 34 without fetchlands?
>>98869332Your argument doesn't even make sense.>Uh they made a card for one of the most iconic characters of the original series. This means they think they'll never get another chance to make another setHave you considered maybe they're just trying to make a good set?
>>98869408When it says name a card name you can only name, well, cards that you can put in your deck. You can also name the backside of flip cards, as the front and back have different names. But tokens cannot be named for these effects. So no treasures, no food tokens, no clue tokens, etc.
>>98869412I know the answer but I won't respond to UBslop muahaha
>>98869073>>98869412It doesn't work because a flicker goes through this process:>Kira on field (ability active)>Kira is exiled>Kira not on field (ability not active)>Kira enters (replacement window checked)>Kira on field (ability active)Even though this whole process occurs mid-spell, full process still occurs (since otherwise cards like Ephemerate wouldn't do anything).
>>98869073IIRC the only replacement effects that affect how the card itself enters are the ones that say "This [permanent type] enters tapped".
Thirty (30) starting life is objectively superior to fourty (40)
>>98869085Subtlety of a sledgehammer.
>>98869455Seething that his "crown jewel" set consisted of the protagonist dying to his own stupidity and the main mechanic being planeswalker tokens.
>>98869431I see. If i instead name something already on field like Gleaming Splendor, whenever the player who controls GS activates the draw ability, Kai Winn will bolt them in the face?
>>98869461What are you talking about?
>>98869428The only set we know for a fact that nobody was trying on was Spider-Man. The problem is how do you make a UB set that isn't 75+% legends?
>>98869466Yes, you can also name gleaming splendor if it wasn't on the field.
>>98869428>UB>good setLmfao.
>>98869476>how do you make a UB set that isn't 75+% legendsThey should have just made most named characters non legendary in ub sets only because there really is no reason for some shitty draft uncommon to be legendary. Sadly they didn't and now we have to suffer 10000 new legendaries per year.
>>98869476In this case focus on a single series in the franchise and you get your dozen or so legends then fill it out with generic klingon warrior, starfleet science officer, romulan spy, etc... with 1 or 2 special mechanics instead of the... ~dozen I think shown so far? This was the most obvious, lowest effort shotgun approach to the franchise possible. Not that they could have done a UB acceptably in any way.
>>98869491Mogs UW set after set but keep burying your head in the sand.
>>98869508this would also be a good approach, picard is a legend in starfleet, no one in-universe really knows who geordi is.
I wonder if we will ever seen universe within versions of UB staples someday through secret lair or if it only goes the other direction
Ha! Dynamite tits gobanon, made it hard to pick between the two versions.
>>98869512They've both been equally shitty ever since that holofoil yugioh oval got put onto cards.wizards has completely abandoned the concept of design space preservation and they are now racing to milk the franchise for every possible bit of worth as fast as possible.
>>98869508>>98869510Considering that the entire concept of UB exists to print more cards for edh I don't see anything changing. The fact that some of them end up actually being solid limited sets are in spite of them being UB. Warhammer Fantasy "not Age of Sigmar" would easily work for an UB set. There's a ton of regular units and monsters for all rarities, it does have gunpowder but it's just early modern warfare but with plenty of sword and sorcery stuff like elves, orks, vampires ect. And theres plenty of named characters but the emphasis was always about building and controlling armies over something like a TV series that needs a constant flow of named characters front and center.
>>98869414I always start at 36 for version 1.0Always cut down to 35 once the identity of the deck becomes better realized and may continue to cut further depending on how many cantrips I play and the curve of the deck. My current lowest deck is 32, highest is 37.
>>98869061two colors doesnt even need duals. when that Smaug scene box came out I through together a quick combo sloppa deck with Pestilence and whatever I had left over. I think Dragonskull Summit and Graven Cairns were the only two nonbasics I had in there. didn't even have an extra command tower. (it was really converted from like a 75% finished Mono red Knuckles/cheerios deck, so no CMD tower needed)it did so great I kept it as is an added Blood Moon to fully capitalize on the basics. now that deck makes a ton of treasures and was leaning hard red anyway but I had no problems. in its current form I've also got a badlands and command tower and sulfurous springs but no shock land or other ones. and added treasure vault. if youre in green you can literally just fetch whatever lands you need. but if you ARE going to use nonbasics make sure theres at least 2 with the basic types for fetching a Forest + blank otherwise Nature's Lore, Wood Elves, Skyshroud Claim are useless in fixing. 3 color absolutely needs non basics though. and then when you get to 5c it comes back around to the most sensible approach being green-forward so you can fetch Forest Plains, Forest Swamp, etc etc. 4 color non-green seems like a nightmare like the new Jace-sloppa. I would lean heavily into white's catch up ramp and grab stuff that looks for plains but not basic plains. (Kor Cartographer, Knight of the White Orchid, Gift of Estates come to mind). >>98868662doing OK really trying to finish the Kwia deck for Saturday's commander night. I've got placeholder cards but I've went to 3 different LGS' in my town looking for certain cards and none of these MF'ers have much of what I'm looking for. how about you?>>98869056>tqthats a hard one for me to answer right off the top of my head. I. would say Bayou because its got a serious vibe and when I play it I slap it onto the table and say "WE"RE GOING DOWN TO THE BAYOUUUUUUUU BOIIIIIIIIIIIII" (pic rel)
>>98869378what kind of games are you playing where Empower Jace is becoming a problem anon? serious question>>98869447this has been debunked>>98869228blue finally getting ramp? but at 4cmc its pretty much useless except for mega leviathans. let me guess the oracle will say "you must follow timing restrictions for these cards". meaning you just screw everyone else's land base up while your land cards fill your hand or discard (useless In mono blue, or most decks in general) to grave while you Peter out random off color lands each turn until you're killed for taking people's lands? maybe im missing it
>>98869073With cards like Adeline or anything with myriad does this card just let you have all the creatures come in attacking one person instead of swinging wide at everyone?
Just found out the girl I've been flirting with for months at work has an onlyfans where she only does BBC gloryholes.Commander for this feel?
>>98869528And yet here you are still paypigging and playing their game. Imagine being as retarded as you are lmao
>>98869665It applies two modifiers to the entering token, and you choose one to be the final modification. So yes.
>>98869628Do you mind if I see your Kwia deck after you finish? I'm building it as well and I don't know if I should put big spells in it due to all the lotus tokens I'll make.
>>98869668Disappointed and disgusted? Selvala the green one
>>98869675Splendid, thank you.
Any under the radar cards for Selesnya? Im building my first Commander deck after getting the Cloud EX- Soldier Precon
>>98869651It's not ramp it's basically shitty mill + play lands normally.
>>98869228>No Caitian>No sexy green womenSooo I'm nonbuynary...
>>98869668How did you find out?
I really love almost all of Sammut's cards but I really hate how ugly she is in all of her art
>>98869736Sure! I love GW you should 100% pick up...>UBOh nevermind
>>98869795Just put some goblins in it instead
>>98869671That's a bold assumption, I havent bought a "real" card since the oval. And what does playing a game I've enjoyed for decades have to do with it? I've voted with my wallet, that's all that matters.
>>98869476Well for starter they can stop print 11 different versions of the same fucking character
>>98869736Gaddock teegDepends on what you're buildingThe populate instants/sorceries from rtrBehemoth sledge is a second, worse loxodon WarhammerHamza
>>98869804Samut is a human not a goblin
>>98869819Doesn't stop goblin anonAlso I'm pretty sure you are wrong about that
I gotta start testing cards before buying themI'm incapable of card assessment by sight alone
>>98869835this was bad wasn't it? I almost got it but realized it's specifically for a reanimator deck with a flying commander
>>98869671tifa anon, I understand you liking final fantasy, lotr, or avatar, but you can't possibly say with honesty this set is looking good
>>98869795She really is one of the best examples of fun effects on a card with shit art you don't want to play.
>>98869795bro you got the monkey curl Íñigo art
>>98869795Same and I built her Driving force version and I hate looking at her
>>98869800The Final Fantasy precons were significantly stronger and had more valuable cards in them than any of the other commander precons and my LGS was selling them at MSRP. How can you fault a new player for choosing the best financial option available to them? Blame Wizards for making those decks have more value
>>988698495 mana is just too much, and frankly I cut inkeyes from all my decks almost a decade agoI just kinda forgot when I was ordering cardsAnother reason to only pick up cards in person but I digress
>>98869775Someone who "worked" with her for content told me about it, so I looked up her page, and yep.
>>98869890Ah yes, the spiritually severed modernist appealing exclusively to their physical condition How pitiful
>>98869736I have several but I do not respond to requests from slopchuggers
>>98869905Well I think my deck is cool and uses a lot of kino cards. If you like thematic decks I use a lot of niche cards
A lot of the "gamechangers" are ridiculous but this one is pretty absurd in particular.
>>98869913I think if you saw my deck and everything you'd say it was ludokino
>>98869919Cope
>>98869939what do you define as a kino deck?
>>98869228>basedjack pointing at vegan chicken
>>98869736If you're going the equipment route Danitha? There's really nothing under the radar for GW, they generally work really well for whatever strategy they're printed for.
>>98869939like really whats wrong with using her as a commander? shes not overpowered and she has a fun ability to build around
>>98869807>crying about something for literal years when everyone from the company to the fandom has happily moved on without youActually pathetic.
personal pet card that i'm scared of wanting to cut, but then i remember the time that i used her to copy Overwhelming Splendor so it was on two of my opponents at once and i'm like ok i guess i have to keep her
>>98869931If aura shards is on the shit list grave pact should be on there as well but no one wants to have that conversation.
>>98869931It's oppressive, not necessarily powerful. Same reason why Augustine is on the list. There needs to be a "power based" game changer list and a "saltiness" game changer list.
>>98870005He likes the vague idea of MtG rather than what the game actually is. You'd be surprised at how many people you can LARP check by asking whether they think this card was a problem or not when it's basically the reason Standard died.
>>98869998Im building around enchantments but there are some equipment in my deck
>>98869932not interested
>>98869795This is one reason I actually like UB/secret lair
>>98870029>He likes the vague idea of MtG rather than what the game actually is.I know what these crybaby antiubfags are and what they want from the game which is why it's a duty and a privilege to point out how big of retarded faggots they are whenever they pop up in these threads. There's lots of struggling TCGs that fit their standards exactly and they would LOVE some fanatical new blood to go haunt their forums and talk about their games but these homos instead waste their time and emotions on a game that has long rejected them in the vague hopes it becomes exactly like a product that already exists but which they refuse to go play and concentrate on. They're the most unpleasant kind of retarded whiners.
>>98869676my highest mana cost spell is Kwia. everything else is 5 or less. most things are 1 or 2. Final Showdown with all the modes chosen would be the the single highest spell. Sunfall at 5 mana is one of the other expensive spells. Well of Lost Dreams is a good mana sink. What I do with it is when you hit someone with Kwia, that lifelink thing will gain you by default 6. I'll let the Lotus token effect resolve first, then immediately sac it and pay 3 to draw 3 on the lifelink trigger. basically converts your lotus into "draw 3 cards". obviously I won't do this if I need the Lotus tokens for something or have cards to cast but its a nice way to refill the hand. you can use an life gain triggers to draw but the small little ones even with 3 soul sisters out would only let you draw 1 card each time technically. so I just do it on lifelink triggers for big stuffbuster sword is in it for casting other spells while allowing me to hold up mana or a lotus for interaction. almost everything is 1 or 2 mana though. soul sisters, fyndhorn elves, GIVER of runes (and not mother of runes, had to cut her because can't protect from Maze of Ith targeting). Bloombrute & Vigorbloom Charm great cards from the set to also include. Thinking of adding the new Ajani as well, but haven't yet. >>98869750yikes. blue gets shat on again. no surprise>>98869736vigor bloom charm is the best charm spell is a long time. like insane value
>>98870050I don't care if they put Adolf Hitler on a card, bullshit not original to MtG has no place in the game.
>>98869676also no game changers in it. but gleaming splendor IS in it. that can be a little bit of mana sink if needed. several spells to hold up like heroic intervention, fog (or holy day), angel's grace, again, vigor bloom charm. TOSKI!!! for another card drawer. sylvan libraryoh yeah the only other 5 mana spell is Baneslayer angel. just another great life linker to have.
>>98869056>TQI fucking love Meteor Golem. Great art, great flavor text, and a solid effect. Especially when played in mono colors that may not have access to the removal he offers easily otherwise. It's the card I try to always find room for in most of my decks.
>>98870075Crazy how much better Ugin is than meteor golem, the price is pretty prohibitive though obviously. i'm sure there's a cheap eldrazi that's 7 mana or roughly that much that does something like meteor golem, i'll see if i can find one. of course the downside with ugin is you miss artifacts, and that most certainly will come up, but every color has artifact removal at this point.
>>98870056Weird how 99% of the playerbase disagrees with you but okay!
>>98870092Meteor Golem has upsides if you're blinking or welding. He has a cool little niche.
>>98869073>>98869665>>98869675
>>98870092I want his fat cock in my ass god he's so hot.
>>98870102That's true, I thought of that after i hit post. Plus he's an artifact. Blinking, reanimating, cheating into play any other way. Plenty of upsides for him, the only thing on cast really beats is counterspells, and a lot of ways you cheat golem into play beat counterspells already anyway lol. Exile is nice for some things though, and obviously ugin replaces himself and if you've got any other artifacts in your list he can be pretty nutty but yadda yadda.Best I could do for under 50 cents at the same cmc is this guy, and well he's green so that's a pretty obvious issue here. You get Ulamog the Ceaseless Hunger at 10cmc for 2 targe permanents exiled on cast, but he's 20 bucks and 10cmc sooo I suppose I misremembered my eldrazi
>>98870075let me introduce you to this badass>>98870092costs $50 more
>>98870113Get off 4chan, Bolas.
>>98870092True. That Ugin is magnitudes more powerful and can run away with a game almost on his own. But I like Meteor Golem for how versatile he is being a creature. Reanimating, blinking, or photocopying a bunch with Orvar. Meteor Golem is the kind of cheap and versatile card I can put in almost every deck and I like that about him.
Kvetching about UB is such a reddit take.
>>98870130>Target permanentMan, I always forget about this one. Destroying anything and it recycles itself is nutty. I only sort of wish it had some flavor text, but still. A pretty solid option in the same vein. I've got to get one for a colorless I've been planning.
>>98870095That's a nice imagination you got there but the "playerbase" is clearly very divided on the issue and that itself speaks volumes because a god number of the "players" were drawn into the game explicitly by the UB bullshit catering to their non-magic interests. That puts the actual base of MtG fans (rather than final fnatasy, 40k, star trek, lotr, etc... fans) as majority hating UB bullshit.

>>98871418I've been waiting on a lands Torpor Orb for a couple years now to slow these decks down. Star Trek is yet another set where landfall continues to get new toys with absolutely no new checks being printed. I want some real hate cards for the archetype instead of having to tip-toe around it with sweepers to kill all the value and graveyard hate. Give me more Ankh of Mishra, Polluted Bonds, Strict Proctor, and Elesh Norn type cards to punish it or stuff it. I'm convinced idiots who keep showing up advocating for MLD (which landfall can easily play through) are only doing so because the utter lack of dedicated landfall hate pieces is staggering with how much support it gets. Every year we rightfully get more graveyard hate cards, because the graveyard is powerful and this game would be in shambles without it. But year after year strong landfall cards get pooped out and there's just nothing to stuff them. >just ran graveyard hateI can and do because I'm not but holy shit enough is enough I need more tools against these decks.
is it ethical to proxy fetchlands if you're playing minthara
>>98871961As someone who plays this guy, I agree. It's as slop as you think, and there's not enough hate for itUnfortunately, that's not the kind of game wizards wants. Landfall is the default low skill feel good deck, and it generally attracts the kind of people who see any interaction with them as feelsbad. Wizards caters to them as the "casual" players who treats edh more as a roleplaying experience than a card game
>>98872018It is always ethical to proxy
>>98871961There needs to be an oppo agent but only for "search for lands" in any color but green/blue.
>>98869056I love this nigga - he's both deceptively simple and versatile. Can be used against opponent (especially effective against lifegainfags) but I can also target myself for quick and dirty healing which works pretty nice with stuff like Greed or Necropotence. Can be flickered, copied or used with cards like Supernatural Stamina to quickly reuse this effect, too.Ah, I guess it also counts as pretty potent sacrifice outlet but even without that it's pretty fucking awesome. I usually run it in 99 of my Ghost Council Of Orzhova.
>>98872018I don't think there's a reason not to proxy unless your LGS is adamant people don't. If that is the case you should find a less shitty one then.
>>98869056>TQ: What is your favourite card?Avacyn, Angel of Hope. I'm a sucker for the huge timmy beast. However, the swift second has come around to being Redirect Lightning. One mana (and 5 life) to turn your removal into my removal has won me SO many games.
I played my 'unnamed silver bordered UB' Commander deck a few times last night, and I even got a win with it! (It was with approach of the 2nd sun, not my favourite way of winning but still cool). I found a neat interaction, that even though I have protection from all colours, I can still get hosed from colourless. One of the players in my pod has a spikey colourless deck.I am already stretching the rules with token cards being considered as toys, I wonder if I can scheme somehow to have a colourless toy. "Colourless is not a colour", so if choose to make a token of any colour, I cannot select colourless, so I think I am screwed. I need to run step-mom in this deck.

>>98870749Facebook is actually not the worst place to find MTG or commander dialogue in general. pReddit has long been cooked as a reliable source of trustworthy information. its just an official mouthpiece for GōtC and a propaganda outlet more than anything to do with cardsyou find regular people talking about Magic in FB groups all the times and people dont get banned for saying men cant be women when some insane person claims something like that (usually off topic of an issue related to card interactions, per typical)give it a shot!>>98870784what state? sounds grim. theres one tranny I played against at a pre-release who I called a HE to a 3rd party. they never said anything and I never acknowledged I may have made a mistake. but they used a female name and had fake stuffed breasts. they're just fetishists anyway. and of course this in Florida where people seem to be sane still
>>98872235in my player base almost everyone owns a couple revised duals, revised stuff like Wheel of Fortunes and Demonic Tutors etc. Gold bolder cards are treated as real like Chrome Mox, Enlightened Tutor, Grim Monolith, etcits generally frowned upon to proxy out your whole deck. you should try to make an effort to get the real cards. obviously dont live in a cardboard box for cards. and if you have at least 1 of a card its generally fair to proxy it outof course if you did fully proxy out a deck the most you'd get would be a sarcastic comment, as no one has authority over it (commander is also an unsanctioned format where it doesnt matter regardless)
>>98872647>preddit is just an official corporate mouthpiece and propaganda engineagreed, i've fond that I can get an actual community review of things by using an LLM and instructing it to aggregate community discussions on a thing while excluding critic opinions, number rating systems, youtube and reddit discussions.and then suddenly the general opinion on any given thing changes dramatically from what the visually loud perception is and aligns more with things you actually hear from people IRL.
>>98872547It kinda exposes a cognitive gap because nobody ever bitches about City of Solitude which is the same thing but stronger.
>>98872655Having at least a few legit cards is a positive since owning a legit card is always cool., however its basically required for formats like vintage or legacy. Its also nice for people like me who are getting back into magic after not playing it for 10+ years and haven't kept up with mtg.
Move over grandpa, Trek is here to take another bestseller slot from your story with 2 years of buildup.
>>98872655Once upon a time I would have agreed with this but excepting full custom art decks like the infamous elden ring deck or the goblin deck anon is building from gobanons stuff. But I've moved on from even that proviso, no matter how flexible you are with that "rule" you're still saying, on some level, that what is played at the table must be representative of the wallet behind the player and no matter how much you'll wiggle on that it's still absurd to suggest a players economic standing has bearing on a card game when the only thing that should matter is how well they can build a deck and play. The far more problematic thing for me is netdecking. I don;t care what monetary cost your cards have, what I care about is your ability to build and play, violating that to WAAC is much worse IMO.
>>98871852>I think he's from PeruWhat gave you that impression?>>98872018If you're doing just the fetch for her colors, no one will give a shit, if you are doing all the off color fetches people will probably roll their eyes at you thinking your a tryhard. Or is it because you keep losing to better storm decks (Ral) in cedh that's why you pubstomp instead?
>>98872684the critical thing being legacy and vintage are actually sanctioned formats though. and same here, final fantasy is what got me back in as when I started in 2010 I was hoping they would do a crossover which people said would never ever happen (they were wrong). aside from some random shit I picked up from amonkhet in 2017 I didnt have much of a collection from the last 9 years so its hard starting over. and my old cards are at my parents house 1000 miles away still haven't gotten them. >>98872711I agree with this too. it's just what the group of dudes Ive been playing with kind of does. one guy has a trop island and another revised one but he wanted to randomly make a Sauron deck and proxied out the whole thing. its not that he can't afford it its really just out of connivence. but saving over 1000 bucks to not have to buy a volcanic and badlands is nice too>>98872715yeah what I was trying to say is its not even so much as a refusal to play or management of an LGS having an issue just getting shit on for using proxies and whatever attention that might bring (getting targeted for no reason...or maybe its for having a t1 underground sea, sol ring mox diamond into grim monolith into time twister or something silly)
>>98872855Why even bother with color identity, singleton, 99 cards, or lack of wishboards? We can just rule 0 that.
>>98872269>I wonder if I can scheme somehow to have a colourless toyHow about one of those see through ones? Surely there's a see through "Spider-Man" you could use in the various generations of toys. I know G4 had some translucent blind bag ones at least.
>>98872547Eh, a little. But I think that it still gives you the option to go for the spell anyway, as long as you're willing to get that land blown up, makes it so significantly less players would get upset.
>>98872891Also paying thousands for old cards that don't look anything like the other cards in the deck is silly. One of the biggest strengths of proxying is to have a deck that looks like all the cards in it belong to the same game.
>>98872602Try Visual Spoiler. It's the only option I've ever used there.
>>98871536yeah when I was first getting into it you could get French volcanic islands for like 40 or 60 bucks. that would have been late 2010 or early 2011. and I was like "who the hell wants to play with non English cards???" STOOOOPID. then I didnt play for years
>>98872910all my cards except some very new ones like characters from Final Fantasy or ELDER SPHINGES look old. I cant stand the Neo-modern border with all the black empty abyss at the bottom of the cards. it's either OG modern frame (especially important for hybrid cards) or straight up retro frame. especially important for basic lands. like for the new angels pre-con, I kept 1 each of the basics that came with it and switched them all out for full art hobbit stuff, 9th edition white borders to make Land Tax searching easier, and other random ones from Beta, Unlimited, Onslaught etc. and OG Zendikar starter pack basics
>>98872937the OG modern frame (as in your picture) is usually my preferred frame, although there is a strong argument for the original card frame as well.I absolutely hate white, silver or gold borders as those are a huge visual clash with the rest of the deck as well.it's case specific between the two looks, some decks just look better with the more morose appearance of the original borer, some with the clean higher contrast look of the modern frame.Full arts where appropriate, but not borderless unless the whole deck can be done borderless. The biggest thing for me is visual consistency, it has to look like all the cards belong with each other.
>>98872947>The biggest thing for me is visual consistency, it has to look like all the cards belong with each other.I wish wotc cared about this in the slightest. Some of the decks people build just look like shit because wotc puts so many different treatments out there.
>>98872747>what about when he said we'll get UW versions of UB then he said we won't?UW wasn't because they were UB, it was because they were mechanically unique cards released as SLD. UW was a way to get those mechanically unique cards released at retail, not to non-UB them.
>>98873011It delegitimizes the "official" status to me, there is now nothing of value in a card being "real" because the aesthetic and subject matter have both been perverted beyond what even full custom community sets would go for a decade ago.
>>98871885how we haven't run that idiot out of the general is beyond me

>>98873285Fuck, technically correct.
>>98873354The best kind of correct.I had the same reaction to the Federation mechanic when I first saw it.
>>98873356if only it didn't say non-borg, it'd have to be banned.not because it makes a lot of math, infinite combos are okay, but because it could make an externally referenced specific number of copies that requires that rules lookup if changeling is present, the potential for creating rules arguments at the table would be too big, and the number isn't fixed over the lifespan of the game either. In many cases it would be effectively the same as infinite, but there are certainly cases where that distinction would have to be worked out.

>>98873548just like gobpedos proxies
>>98873534Why does all AI slop have that weird "glare" to them? Its one of the telltale signs its AI.
>>98873534I like what anon is doing with the art, he isn't just throwing the same generated gobbo slut on every single card, he is giving each card it's own distinctive treatment, the one in your image makes for a difficult to read board. And I doubt it could be had for cheaper on etsy. I own a 3D printer and use it exclusively for making my wargame miniautres because of the staggering cost difference, and I am familiar with the greed of etsy sellers when it comes to 3D prints and also unrelated handmade items, the prices on etsy are far above what is reasonable for the makers costs.I'm going to have this goblin tribal deck for about $60 with all the tokens it needs as well, it's the sleeves that are going to make it costly.
>>98873534>>98873561Exactly as I thought, the ones on etsy are $115-230 and they are generic krenko goblin tribal.Gobanons existing body of work let me assemble an Auntie Ool, Cursewretch jund goblin tribal that is distinctively not the "same old goblin tribal"And the images gobanon is generating still look better to me.
>>98873560That's just really shitty, older, AI models that do that. But those are the ones most accessible for people to make coomer slop.

>>98874464Gavin's definition of mld covers things like Sunder and Decree of AnnihilationAnd his definition of mld includes 'without replacement' which is to allow for things like From the Ashes and Wave of Vitrioil which give immediate replacement; otoh cards like Dimensional Breach and Fall of the Thran do not immediately replace the denied lands so they can safely be tagged as mld
>>98874508This isnt mld as it doesnt pass the 'regularly denies' criteria (it's in practice a shitty burn spell)
>>98874083As in explaining my reasoning for making it? I don't think there's usually enough to explain. It's basically just asking for feedback. For that one in particular, I am wondering if it's overcosted/even needs to cost blue. I think halfing damage on a single creature is not actually that strong but I have misjudged with other designs where people told me to tone it down.
>>98874600Simply asking for feedback is better than just nothing at all.

>>98874600have you tried making these in the old frame? I think a lot of the art you're using would match nicely to it
>>98873963While you're on the right track, your lgs is ultimately wrong because it's actually supposed to be turn 7 for infinites and altwincons only for b3, as combat damage is fair magic and so is killing you with tifa on turn 3
>>98874639Okay, I'll consider. Picrel is my attempt at making fair removal that supports the commander and explores a theft theme in a color where that's unusual.>>98874703Hasn't occoured to me, yet and I think it'd be weird to mix different generations of frames + I don't want to redo all the cards. I also think it makes most sense to use current frames as it is being made in Anno 2026, meaning using the current standard is the most honest. If WotC ever changes the frame design again, people in the future could look at this "set" and gauge when it was made, which is half the fun of seeing old frames.
>>98874163>Anything with etb triggers, anything with ltb triggersWe can't list all of them anon.
>>98874672It is if people just had common sense and put their TO hat on>no infinites/altwincons before turn 7>no mld>up to 3 GCsIt is the simplest most enforceable way to do brackets as i want shitty decks like voltron to actually have a chance to win instead of being 'happy to be here' warm bodies
>>98874736Not going over this with you again, since you can't conceptualize how others might interpret vague wording different than youAfter pulling out an article, scribbling some headcanon over it, and arguing for an hour, everyone in the lgs clapped and agreed with you, brackets are saved and it is impossible to misinterpret themYou win anon, congrats
>>988707323 games I piloted pic rel all 3, faced Jeskai Spaceship, Kotis, Arcades, some Izzet deck that had interaction but no winsmy decklist is mostly black control, nothing to write home about.
