I don't understand how we all agree we hate blind boxes, but then go on to worship blokees. Was blokees simply the first good blind box, or will transformers collectors literally buy anything?

If someone wanted to get Saint Seiya Blockees, how much of the main cast IE Bronze and Silver Saints have been made? And is there a Pope Ares figure?

I'm looking for toys based on real historical figures. What are your favorites?

Thanks for the breakdown, Anon. Hasbro's biggest strength seemed to be balancing quality and cost, since I know figmas were about three times more expensive, but some of the Hasbro figs go for a lot more nowadays.

Does anyone sell models/model kits of any of the vehicles from Avatar?

Avatar would need some sort of cultural relevancy for companies to care enough about making toys from it.

I hate these movies and think they're new age slop, but the ISV venture star is the single coolest hard-scifi spacecraft put to film. If they don't make a model kit of this thing I'm just gonna build one out of Legos.

My biggest issue with Playmobil, and this is a problem I've had since I was a kid, is because the figures themselves kind of suck. They're less articulated then Lego people and can't even be popped and swapped about. Their playsets and vehicles are fantastic, but without good figures to interact with them, you can't really have fun playing with them.

Last year I went hard in collecting a line called Gashapon Quest, a bunch of 3"ish articulated buildable fantasy figures that come from capsule machines. I enjoyed them so much I started looking for similarly sized figures and accessories to go with them. I found myself some similarly sized Goblins and Orcs, Re-ment has a lot of closely scaled accessories, Schleich's Eldrador line has tons of cool monsters that can work with the line. But I also found Playmobil's stuff scaled *perfectly* with these guys.

So far I have pic related for my villains to sail about and I managed to track down most of a used Castle set to be the Adventurers main hub. I also plan on grabbing a second pirate ship for a similar line called Link Travelers that made a wave of pirate and sailor figures, and might even grab an evil tower or something if space allows it. But despite the sets and vehicles being so nice and working so well, sadly I just bin the figures and their gear because they're just not fun to play with.

If Playmobil had better figures, I feel the entire line would be far more popular with both kids and collectors.

>>11671672
My kid loves playing with the giant castle I got. It's currently sitting on my kitchen table since i lack space in my toy room for it right now, and she spent all afternoon with some little princess figures who scale really well with it just having adventures. But even she didn't want to use the actual figures who came with the castle. Except the skeleton, she liked playing with that one.
>>
>>11673365
Where did you pick up your Gashapon Quest stuff? I had a lot of interest and assumed they'd come to amiami eventually but I never saw them
>>
>>11673635
I got the lion share of em from a site called Suruga-ya.com. They have a really decent selection and some of the rarer figures will pop up from time to time and tolerable prices. They also do free shipping weeks fairly often so you can wishlist a bunch of items then wait for one of their free weeks to ship everything cheap. You can also buy parts and set piecemeal so you can customize figures a bit easier then having to track down a whole collection. Though some of the rarer items can get pretty pricey, especially the figures themselves. Some of the figures from the "Character Selection" wave can be just as pricey as an entire set of figures.

I thought they were going to continue the line, as I saw some "generic soldier" figures teased at one point. But they could also very easily be future Link Travelers stuff as the gimmick of that line is characters from across time and space interacting with each other or something. But unless something new drops, I'm pretty much done with the Gash Quest stuff.

Happy New Year anons. I picked up this horse figure a few weeks ago in a loose fig bin specifically for this character and buddy of mine wants to do the same but I can't ID it.

It's a 1/12 scale and has a hidden button on the rear left thigh for galloping action.

I'm pretty sure its not a yotijay or any version of Shadowfax that I can find.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

A $20 yoyo can give you days/weeks of entertainment.

a $30 Marvel legends will be thrown in the back of a display case for 20 years, at which point your family will sell it for like a dollar at an estate sale.

I got this guy from McDonald's when I was little and I loved it. I had an X-Brain too, but this black kid in my class stole it from me when he asked to borrow it. I was a naive little kid and didn't know any better than to lend my stuff out. I think about that every time I see yoyo's get mentioned.

My desk is in pieces while my new bed is disassembled. I've been too busy to deal with it. I'm also only going to meetings, so don't have an "office desk" technically.

Certainly not a "desk" I would keep something I wouldn't want to "walk off" by itself.

The tall tin toy in the back spins. When I was bored on phone calls and especially on zoom, I would flip the button and watch it spin. The two figures are bendies which is why the cape on one is torn, too much handling easily ruins that cheap material and that's what I would fidget with the most.

What excites me about this wave is that it’s genuinely one of the strongest Original Trilogy lineups we’ve seen in years. It feels almost like an *ultimate* OT wave, packed with some of the most iconic elements from the trilogy, and the designs themselves are honestly excellent. The smart bricks don’t really bother me when I think about how far LEGO has come, and the prices are actually pretty reasonable compared to other modern Star Wars sets. LEGO was never cheap to begin with, and by today’s standards, these sets are far from outrageous. If anything, they feel like a premium, modern take on the “classic” style—almost a spiritual successor to the early 2000s era. Overall, I’m really impressed by the creativity and care that went into these, and it’s hard not to be excited about what LEGO is doing here.
>>
>>11669593
LEGO are the ONLY Star Wars toys that never stopped selling. I suspect that this year will be thin for SW choices because of the build-up to next year's big 50th anniversary releases.

I like him. I just wish his insignias were either removable or he had folding panels like Doubledealer to choose which side he's on. He's not even the worse deluxe from that wave. Shadow Striker looks nothing like the character (her vehicle mode looks nothing like RID Side Burn's either) and her arms are unable to move backwards.
