Just a repaint, but looks good and has a couple new weapons.

What do folks have on the way? Looking forward to anything in particular?

I recently picked up my first BeastBox figures, which are really neat! Don't think they're piloted mecha, though.

I also bought a third party copy of the MB Caletvwlch or whatever scottish gibbert it is calles for like 20 bucks
Surprised to see the parts come prepainted You get enough parts to build 2 of them and Even got connectors to attach them to MB, MG and hi resolution models

Somewhat disappointed the first ANIME Dagger Bandai puts out is the Slaughter, the variant I'm not really a fan off; but been hoping and praying for any of the SEED Daggers. So will be getting one somehow.
Just hoped with the 105 Dagger showing up just enough, in the Freedom movie opening battle; that Bandai would've considered that one. As the Strike Dagger and 105 were the most likely next in line for the OMNI side, long shot hope is a no-frills(no Aile or Gunbarrel Striker) 105 is being set up for a regular retail release in parallel to the Slaughter...

>>10924688
>What do folks have on the way? Looking forward to anything in particular?

Got the RD M9 Gernsbacks for Mao and Kurz arriving Tuesday(gonna miss the delivery attempt tomorrow). Since receiving my Metal Build, renewed the on-hold search for the two again. One of the army builder bros got me in touch with someone that had some potentially damaged or broken ones for dirt cheap according to some broken machine translation. So jumped on it as these RDs have been pretty scarce lately, and maybe it's just exaggerated slight cosmetic damage.

Also picked up a crazy overpriced ANIME Efreet Custom [EXAM] at a Gamestop with a some of a gift card, put my name on a Blue Destiny Unit-01 someone canceled their pre-order on. Though ham hands'ed the Efreet's wrist pegs trying to rotate them in the wrist... Damn hahaha!

Honestly I'm impressed with this copy of the Excalibur sets, I dont have the original MB but this comes prepainted and most nubs are very cleverly hidden or non existent thanks to the use of undergates, not to mention the whole thing seems identical to the real deal from what Im seeing in videos

Shouldn't the beam blades on the Slaughter Dagger be pink? The only MS with yellow beam blades is the Strike Dagger and Aegis.
>>
>>10928822
paint bubbles, paint peeling off at edges, fingerprint magnet, the usual works
even saw a blog of one dude who took pics of his figure years after getting it and the gold paint dulled, as if it took a steam bath
maybe not all copies have those kind of issues but such an ambitious type of painting seems too risky for me to shell the money they ask for it
>>
>>10928848
It'll probably go up on Amazon and the other toy seller sites like they've been doing with Macross stuff as of late.
The P-Bandai site never gets that stuff for some reason.

Also super glad this is finally happening, we're like a year or two out from a HMR YF-19.
I have wanted a transformable YF-19 in that scale for years now.
>>
>>10928910
I mean a lot of this is environmental and handling factors, these sorts of finishes aren’t the most durable thing on the planet and require a bit more care than the usual painted figure. There’s some rough edges in some places on my copy, but no real defects or bubbling as far as I’ve seen. Nothing solving the fingerprint magnet part tho, that’s just the way it is with any sort of glossy or chromed finish, just gotta handle with care or wipe em down.
>>
>>10928485
>exia r4
Don't remind me. Missing out on that for a reasonable price was one of my biggest regrets. I refuse to pay the aftermarket now.
>>
>>10928848
I still find it funny that it's a miniaturized version of Yamato/Arcadia's 1:60 Fire Valk.
>>
>>10929031
>reasonable price
To think that several years ago, I considered that slightly more expensive than im willing to pay for a MB, noone could imagine how much worse it can get. I got the 2nd and exia for 24 and 20 respectively with nonrape dhl prices back then, it is so much worse now.
>>
>>10928910
Sometimes the plating just fogs up with particular releases. I don’t really understand it since there’s decades old plated toys that held up without losing their sheen but seems something has to go wrong in production, the SOC megazord for example has a chest that starts fogging up almost the second you take it out of the package, and people have reported the same thing with the reissue.

Think it’s worth going for a Qant MB or waiting for a FS/rerelease? There’s a 99% chance of a 00 Raiser 2.0 in the near future so I’ve been holding off on that, but the original Qant release still seems worth it.

I for one like the asymmetrical QanT design over the FS so I think you'll be happy with it, just keep in mind setting up the quantum burst mode requires a lot of patience and id very fiddly.

correction about this backpack
it is not that it does not fit
it can fit, but requires you to exercise A LOT of pressure for the rectangular peg to properly insert into the groove in the back of the figure with a very loud "click"
It requires so much force I fear you may end up breaking the peg, removing this backpack is also very hard so I would advice extreme caution when doing so

I got mine couple weeks ago. Excellent figure, my third from them I've bought. Preordered their Getter 1 repaint since it looks like a very good deal at almost half what the first version cost. CCS is definitely the best value for the money in terms of chogokin. Comparing it to the MB Kampfer that cost about the same, despite being half the size shows how much bandai is ripping us off...

>>10936189
its like 33cm counting the shoulderpads. Completely dwarfs even other CCS stuff. Their Mazinkaiser's head only goes up to about his chest's height.

I really wonder how they're going to interpret the Freedom in the Ver.Anime line. I honestly can't see them doing much better than this or the MRD version with the wings that splay outwards from the cannon. A bigger shield would be nice though.

While I can’t fault you for that line of thinking, if you’re already collecting RDs you can afford CCS, just skip 3-4 of the things and you’ve already saved enough money for one. I hope they actually go through with making the VF-11MAXL and VF-17T too since the prototypes they showed are very clearly just early mock-ups and nowhere near ready for release. If they make the Sound Force VF-17 then Gamlin and Millia's should be guaranteed and they're almost certainly going to retool the VF-19 into the YF-19, so the VF-22 from the YF-21 is a no brainer too since they can sell it in Gamlin, Max and Millia colours.

Last SEED MRD I still needed, always liked the Oowashi a little more than the Shiranui and this figure is pretty great. Unfortunately one of the hinges on the right wing is cracked, can still hold poses since the wing is so light but I’ve never had breakage on an MRD before. Any tips on how to fix a cracked hinge (at least as far as structural, I’ll just put some joint tightener in the joint if it’s still loose)?

That’s fair but both Figma and RD have regularly been punching over $100 on the normal releases lately, the market as a whole has been moving to triple-digit prices as a floor. Figuarts is one of the only lines that still consistently lands under $100, but who knows how long that’s gonna last for.

Got my OG RD M9 Gernsbacks and man still cleaning them up hahaha!
Like I was hoping nothing functionally wrong, but holy crap the cigarettes' smell was just horrific on them; and the original owner must've been a prolific smokestack as these are one of the few of my 'cleaner-uppers' that had tar staining throughout. For some reason partially dissembled, with most parts mixed in a single ziplock(done by original owner) and some back in the weirdly almost pristine boxes; with parts in the wrong boxes as well.
Almost a week of regular rinses in heated up dish soap baths, and the smell is gone enough. Putting them back together, and reapplying some white to the mouth plates that thankfully flaked or dissolved off during the clean. Was too yellowed to leave as is, and was a bit scared of trying to paint over that.

>>10924960
Ah it's alright, already use Mandarake or Jungle the odd time. Just a joke at my sticker shock seeing one of these at Gamestop(especially a Canadian one), regretful impulse purchase only because of a convenient gift card; biased maybe as I've never liked the Nimbus character because of playthroughs on the Encounters in Space PS2 game. Still went back for Blue Destiny 1, that's been a more fun toy; just painted the interior side of the green visor as I wasn't liking the HARDAC eyes after a while.

>>10934398
Rarely, and with little to no heads up when they dropped. For the OG RDs I only ever saw four happen, but I think it was for ones that released damn near right at the beginning of the line; and I think it was timed to media releases. Stark Jegan did get one once maybe half a year before before the Kshatriya released. Think there was grumbling about it, as the price had creeped up for that, nothing like we see nowadays; but was a dated figure to the upcoming Kshatriya that didn't merit creep.

>>
>>10940942
I never thought they'd give us it or the king's botune. I guess they decided if they can release the galava of all things they should probably finish off the roster of actual mecha. I think this is the first RD series with a complete one? 0079 is missing the Zock, L.Gaim is missing a few of the b-class units, but I think they're otherwise the closest to finished.

I am missing a lot of them since so many are just repaints but its neat to see.

On the grey section at the base of wing. It’s fucking miniscule so any fix is probably gonna incredibly hard but I’d like to try.
>>
>>10940975
There's no fixing something like that without taking it apart, and good luck taking apart a pre made figure without breaking anything. You could some cement or super glue to fill the crack, but it will seep through anywhere it can, so doing that will fix the wing in place and you won't be able to move it after
>>
>>10941021
That’s what I figured, saw some stuff online about putting some adhesive around the outside of the crack (and since the crack is underneath any excess would just drip down instead of into the joint), so I might give that a shot. Like I said the joint still works since the other connection point is intact, just a tad loose for my taste. If that ends up cracking then I’m screwed, thankfully doesn’t look like there’s any stress marks or signs of potential problems yet.
>>
>>10940975
looks like bad tolerance on the pin joint, just be super careful... overdoing a fix will likely lead it to just crack in other spots. Would recommend just trying to fill the gap so it doesn't get worse, not make it tight.
>>
>>10941041
Yeah, that was my plan. Right now the part that is intact still has enough friction to hold poses, so unless that changes I don’t plan to try any tightening fixes, worst comes to worst I can always just prop it up with a clear stand arm if I really need to.

One thing kind of annoying is that you really need to take off the head in order to slide out the rotation joint of the cockpit cover, and the pilot figure is too small for more points of articulation. I've been considering getting rid of my DX YF-19 advance to grab the arcadia version because I think I might enjoy the simpler transformation and cleaner anime look more.
Though if they end up releasing an HMR YF-19 in 6 months which is just that design but scaled down and modernized I may just go for that instead and get rid of the DX altogether.
I also wish I could get a hold of those 3rd party Frontier era booster packs for it.
>>
>>10941628
If we get the Double X and the Virsago Chest Break I will happily pay the 20k price tag MRDs will probably have by then.
>>
>>10941628
The Arcadia's got some nice things about it, but honestly there's a bunch of small nitpicks that peeve me off with it, from the canards that have no means of self-retention relying on pure friction to keep in place, to the legs having to be fully extended in fighter mode which results in exposed knee joints when viewed from the side.

When you have it standing right it looks really good, but it has about as many small frustrating things in its own right as the DX 19s do. Enough so that I'd recommend not letting go of the DX and instead keeping it alongside the Arcadia.
>>
>>10941865
Interesting, maybe I should just wait to see how the HMR looks.
>>
>>10941875
To be fair I also think the Fire Valk and the M7 VF19 sculpts are a better execution of the underlying skeleton than what the MPlus YF19 does. You get some oddities here and there like the lack of removable intake covers, but you also don't have the exposed knee joint problem. In HMR form it'll probably be a lot of fun.

France, getting taxed is inevitable, unless you use a forwarder but even then you're not guaranted to avoid import fees. In five years of buyfaggotry there is only one time I haven't had to pay anything, and that's because something went wrong with the papers, and I assume whoever was dealing with it didn't want to handle it so the package got delivered without tax robbery. Also in all those years I never had anything stay in customs for more than a day, or two if the thing gets in the country during week end. The online tracking doesn't even tell me the package is in customs, just says
>on our logistic platforms
And on jp post
>Departure from inward office of exchange
After going to my local post office I got a crumb of information, because they have access to a more detailed tracking than the generic online tracking, but even then the last update was on april 2nd and it's "arrival at a platform". I am welcoming any feeling of panic coming my way, in addition to seethe, because it cost me so much, and airmail insurance most likely doesn't cover all of it. Wouldn't surprise me that some faggot decided to steal it after seeing the value

>>10946233
>2 weeks to ship
They tried to emulate 2023 amico. Cherry on top would be having to pay taxes upon delivery. I don't know how often things get taxed in mexico but I heard it's mostly luck based
>>
>>10946247
>I don't know how often things get taxed in mexico but I heard it's mostly luck based
it is
by law, anything you get from overseas with a value equal to or above 50 dollaritos must pay a 20% tax of its price value since 2018
the thing is, this is chance based because the flow of packages is so high, the guys in customs are not able to review everything and keep up with the flow, even more so now that China is literally sending more and more stuff thanls to sites like aliexpress
so there is still a high chance high value items you buy get delivered to your address without having to pax tax
for example, any MB figure would get me fucked over, that happened with the snow version of the Freedom, but the Providence and the vanilla Gold Frame got past customs without any issues

That’s a bit odd, I know for a fact that BBTS is based here in the US (all my packages come from the exact same address in the Midwest). Also, might be a dumb question, but I always thought BBTS only shipped to US and Canada.

Nevermind I’m retarded, was thinking of their Flat Rate shipping.

I know they’re special edition figures but the price tags on these guys are eye-watering. Glad I don’t care for gummy-style figures so these are an easy skip.

Absolute worst of the bunch when it comes to price, costs as much as the Providence.

Damn man, hope you get it soon because such a piece and for the orice you paid getting it lost is just not an option
The only thing left I'm waiting for is the MGEX Strike Freedom and it is also showing no signs of activity after 2 weeks

Checked. The numbers have spoken, it really is over for us. I assume amico would instantly blacklist me if I were to do a chargeback with paypal. 1 month and a week until they can do a proper inquiry. Hopefully in the meantime a miracle happens and it reappears from the void. Of course the one time I buy something really expensive it has to be dramatic and eventually lost. Should've picked DHL and ate their bullshit fees on top of the import fees. At least I'd have it by now. Hope your MGEX doesn't meet the same grim fate

Against all better judgment I'm buying myself an Arcadia VF19Kai.

go ahead, we all are financially irresponsible here

It's less that and more that if a DXC 19Kai announcement comes within the next few months I'm gonna be a bit peeved off since I'm not the biggest fan of the Yamcadia 19 frame coming off the Arcadia YF19.

But it's like $250something on HLJ so fuck it I guess.

I don't think you have to worry much, they are having enough trouble getting the YF-21 out the door. The Arcadia VF-19 is a good mold other than the ball jointed ankles. You will want a display stand for it.

What rock did you just crawl out from under anon? The Hi-Metal R VF-19 that was shown off at the same time as this just went up for pre-order so this can't be far behind.

It took ages for the YF-21 to escape prototype hell, I figured they wouldn't confirm the DX Fire Valk for a long while in light of that.
I also have bizarro all or nothing luck, so I expect it to be announced for roll out the week I put in for shipping.

Don't worry I bought like 6 of those launch arm display stands the last time Arcadia did a run of them.
The other thing that peeves me off with Yamcadia though is they never really had a uniform box dimension for their figures, and the boxes also just kinda suck period.
Bandai has had a common length and width parameter that's only changed from the jump to Delta by my understanding, and they're a lot sturdier in construction so you can pack more of them together and trust they won't collapse under their own weight in storage.
