>Thread Question
If Joytoy started doing another Warhammer game (Necromunda, The Old World, Age of Sigmar) which one figure would you really like to see from it?
>>

An ossiarch bone reaper basic infantry, or the big winged guys (pic).

Best price you've seen on this big-boy?

Around $164cad on Aliex for me, not ready to bite yet.
>>
>>10926436
>$164cad
That's like $120 USD...by far the cheapest price I've heard of so far. Can you link the listing? Does it include shipping?
>>
Is anyone else feeling uncertain about the 30K Imp Fists? The early reviews on YouTube make that yellow look kinda cheap...paint seems sloppier than usual, too.

I hope it's just teething issues and they work things out by the time they get to the SOH Beakies.
>>
>>10926331
I'd pay so much money for this, if Joytoy knew what gold actually looked like and wasn't giving us 90s kenners quality plastic gold on a $150 figure.

Maybe I'm just not understanding something about the conversion, but it seems like our starting price is higher? According to that screenshot, yours starts at $201 CAD ($148 USD) but for me in the US, that Horus listing starts at $173.50, or $235.72 CAD.

>>
>>10927396
Sisters are great, especially that one there. I'd say go for her, then one of the jump pack Marines, as going for variety is better than the same, but slightly different. Was the chaos marine a normal legionary, or the terminator armor guy?

I know it's not very helpful, but you honestly can't go wrong with any of those figures you posted. Those prices do seem too high though. If you want a figure to go along with the CSM you have, the chaos sorcerer in terminator armor is an excellent choice. Those UM terminators are also fantastic (the missile rack one you posted is my favorite) and the vanguard veterans are easily my favorite basic infantry marines released so far. The sisters are all good too, but I have never been a huge fan of the Argent Shroud color scheme.

I need to vent about this: I'm getting tired of all the secondaries in this "community". Like I don't give a fuck if you don't play tabletop Warhammer or get your lore from YouTube videos sure, but I sure am sick of the constant
>but why does figure have xyz? Why can't Joytoy change it to etc?
Because the figures are based on the models, their equipment is what the models have, no you will never get some weird OC donut steel crap or random equipment that doesn't exist in model form, stop asking.

If it doesn't exist as a model, you're not getting it, simple as.
>>
>>10927454
Surprised you haven't gotten a chaos terminator, then. Personally I'd go for a slightly more different terminator, such as a blood angel one with hammer/shield, or twin lightning claws, or a deathwing terminator, but that's also because I'm not a fan of the big ass dorky rocket launcher rack lol. I do share in your affinity for terminator armor, and plan on getting a cataphractii, and hopefully later they release a tartaros pattern as well. I got the original chaos terminator (with storm bolter and power fist) and it's still one of my favorite joytoy figures, even if his joints aren't the best. I'd recommend getting the newest red one, though, because of all of the improvements, such as TWO comi guns, better joints, and lower price.

Couple of interesting things to note though, the height is noted as 12.1cm, while the recent SoH MkIV tactical squad is 12cm.

And you can see the old c-shaped weapon-barrel-supporting type hands are back.

They aren't particularly interesting, but they do look nice. The white trim white helm combo always looks clean. And Smurfs just look so right with the loincloths. It would be a nice wave for a newcomer.

I actually quite like that Mk.X helm with the cyber eye.
>>

Wait, that would make these guys huge. Are these actually all-new sculpts at the new size they talked about? I'm kind of freaking out, it's sort of like the line we were collecting just effectively ended. And they had built up such a massive parts library too...this makes no sense.

Now that we're all bitching about size:
If the deamon primarchs are going to be over twice the size of the current ones released, they'll be fuckhuge and priced accordingly. So basically I'll be paying more for something I don't want this way.
Isn't there some lore justification for deamon primarchs being reasonably sized sometimes?

you mean stop buying anything new that isn't chaos so you can pretend that spending a Millennium in the eye of terror made them extra chonky.
>>

>chaos terminators
I think you mean the black legion ones? they were never an option cause they all were well above 100€ here. The Word Bearer one could have been my first figure but he was always sold out when I had money to spare.
>other legion Terminators
The idea of only getting one per Legion/chapter died once joytoy decided to make the DA ones significantly bigger. While they do look the best I'm not a fan of the DA and don't need them to cast a shadow over my other figures.
>I'd recommend getting the newest red one
I have no idea which you mean
>>10927457
>but I have never been a huge fan of the Argent Shroud color scheme.
I do like the female knight aesthetic and they scratch that itch the best.
>>
>>10927873
They're part daemon, they can manifest however they want. But you're not gonna get small daemon primarchs, they're canonically big fuckers and Joytoy goes off model scale more or less
>>
>>10927714
At this rate I'm going to buy some 3d printed Aquila helmets for my older figures and just pretend they are firstborn with modded/salvaged armor.

>>10927727
Just speculating, but they proba ly went with this one due to GW shilling Primaris everywhere
>>
>>10927714
>Easy skip for me.
I was thinking that too, but I do kind of like the guys with the bolt rifle and the heavy bolter now that I have looked at them more closely. I might get one of them if they're cheap sometime in the future, but otherwise, this is definitely a pass.
>>
>>10927454
As another Eurofag dealing with customs (it's 25-30 % here) I buy all my JoyToy stuff from CoolToysClub. No custom fees, no shipping, and you pay the regular price everyone else pays. I've been using them since the beginning, otherwise I'd never have bought more than a few. I kinda feel guilty for not supporting the local importers, but the prices are just too bloody high.
>>
>>10927714

Ugh, should have been the original kit honestly, these look awful by comparison
>>
>>10927727
The new kit has a lot of options too though.
>>10927985
They went with this one because they are adapting the Leviathan box set to figures, these are the monopose vets that came in the box. It would have been much better if we got an adaption of the new multipose kit that was released after Leviathan instead but they are doing Leviathan only for now.
>>
>>10927716

>>
>Primaris Space Marines Bladeguard
>Space wolf

>Dark Angel

>Blood Angels, Imperial Fists, Black Templar

all of them cost the same price tho.
>>
>>10928451
yeah, dudes. You want everyone of your figures to be exactly the same height?
I mean, who even cares about scale in the first place? You're just as bad as Subjectanon.

You should be excited for all the new shit coming out! Just buy it!
>>
>>10928621
This is called "subsidizing." For example, if your retail priced wave has the Hulk in it, you offset that cost by also putting in a Black Widow, who uses substantially less plastic. The Black Widow buyers help pay for the extra cost of the Hulk buyers. This is nothing new, it's just how business is done.

I've got the red version of that sister with sword, and she's nice. The sheer size difference between her and a Chaos Marine is also fun if you want to pose them together, it really emphasises how huge they are compared to normal humans. I (hopefully, barring Chinese tomfoolery) have the assault marines on the way, I believe they come with flying stands as well.

>>10928192
I'm in the UK, which is probably a worse situation than you for all sorts of reasons, and I've tried using Gundamit. I know there was a guy in the last thread who was looking for the Ultramarine ancient with banner, and for what its worth its on sale there for 55euros rather than 80 something.
>>
>>10929453
you mean the vanguard veterans? Yeah they do have flight stands, they're basically the ones that Shadowsun came with, except with grabby c-clamps instead of a peg to go into them. They're alright, they can go pretty high, they may be a bit loose when they come but if you tighten them up with a screwdriver they're fine. I just prefer a peg, having them being so obviously held around the waist doesn't look great to me. I did try clamping them onto the jetpack instead, but it didn't feel too secure to me.

I'm in the UK too and I've bought all my stuff from cooltoysclub with no issues, no VAT and customs.

>>
>>10933205
I'm genuinely baffled at this post you've made a couple times of Horus being on life support
First off, if he's such a great warrior why is he on life support? Sounds like something only a loser would need
Second, isn't Horus kind of a middle of the road primarchs on combat ability? His special power is his social manipulation, not close combat specifically like Angron or Sangy
And third, why would a primarch of all things need life support? Pretty sure they can heal up from anything that doesn't instakill them, and rowboat puts even that into question
I genuinely don't understand why you'd think Chaos empowered Horus is on life support, it's putting two and two together in my brain and coming up with fish
>>
>>10933477
First, he's obviously on life support, due to the multiple tubes in his head. Second, his only weapons are close combat and I presume he uses them, meaning he enters the fray and the thickest combat, facing death, up close and personal. Third, he's a Primarch, so he can take massive damage and injuries and survive, but not without eventual significant cost to his body. And the tubes look cool.
>>
>>10933477
>>10933517
From Horus Rising:
"Organised into vast armies of tens of thousands called Legions, the Space Marines and their primarch leaders conquer the galaxy in the name of the Emperor. Chief amongst the primarchs is Horus, called the Glorious, the Brightest Star, favourite of the Emperor, and like a son unto him. He is the Warmaster, the commander-in-chief of the Emperor's military might, subjugator of a thousand thousand worlds and conqueror of the galaxy. He is a warrior without peer, a diplomat supreme.

From False Gods:
I was there the day that Horus fell...
'It is the folly of men to believe that they are great players on the stage of history, that their actions might affect the grand procession that is the passage of time. It is an insulating conceit a powerful man might clasp tight to his bosom that he might sleep away the night, safe in the knowledge that, but for his presence, the world would not turn, the mountains would crumble and the seas dry up. But if the remembrance of history has taught us anything, it is that, in time, all things will pass. Unnumbered civilisations before ours are naught but dust and bones, and the greatest heroes of their age are forgotten legends. No man lives forever and even as memory fades, so too will any remembrance of him. It is a universal truth and an unavoidable law that cannot be denied, despite the protestations of the vain, the arrogant and the tyrannical.'
'Horus was the exception.'
- Kyril Sindermann, Preface to the Remembrancers

'It would take a thousand cliches to describe the Warmaster, each one truer than the last.'
- Petronella Vivar, Palatina Majoria of House Carpinus

That's your head cannon but the answer is lamer than that. The tubes are basically interface tubes/plugins to systems and shit. Similar to Perturabo cable head to interface with the logos armor. You see a lot of artwork of tech priests, Naval admirals and dudes with limb/eye replacements having random tubes all over the head and body. All of this is basically inspired from all the 80'-90s cyberpunk sci-fi style at the time. Just look at the nose tube you can tell it's inspired from Dune.

Nah it's just his terminator armor from the dark mechanicum.
Serpent's Scales - Horus' unique suit of Terminator Armour, known as the Serpent's Scales, was one of the first prototypes of its kind, fashioned by Master Adept Urtzi Malevolus and continuously improved by the hand of the traitorous Fabricator-General of Mars, Kelbor-Hal, and some of the greatest Artificers of the Imperium. It was proof against attacks of both brute and esoteric origin. Sent from Mars to cement the alliance between Horus and the faction of the Mechanicum that would back his rebellion against the Emperor, the armour echoed the colours of the Sons of Horus' elite Justaerin, but it far surpassed them in ornamentation and power. An amber Eye of Horus upon the breastplate stared from the armour's torso and shoulder plates.
>>
>>10933684
Do we agree he's "a warrior without peer"?
>>
>>10933690
I guess he is? The "a warrior without peer" description is thrown around on all special lore characters with plot armor ha
>>
>>10933690
Anon I'm not denying that Horus is a good fighter, it's literally what he was made for
I'm saying that if he's such a good fighter and has such a resilient and capable body, why would he be on life support?
At his level he really should either body his enemies to the point they can't even touch him, or the only attacks that can hurt him are the kind that would put him down in an instant
There's not really room in that gradient for "hurt bad enough that he needs assistance to live but not enough to die outright" and that's without getting into immortal transhuman biology
It's just a little silly, is what I'm saying
>>
>>10933711
I guess we can agree to disagree on the life support thing. A blade called The Anatheme almost killed Horus (leading to his downfall). Also, The Emperor is currenty on life support, so it's not unprecedented for supremely powerful transhumans to be on life support.
>>
>>10933734
Also, I.like the idea that he's in a perpetually, gravely, wounded state but continues fighting like nothing is wrong.

Sad to say, comparing the new promo pics of the Veterans with my existing ones, they look a lot worse to me. The new bodies make them look lanky and weird, their silhouettes look awkward to me. And while there is still some airbrushed shading, it's much more subtle than the original releases. It looks more flat and boring in general, kind of like the original SW Hunter pack.

I'm glad they're doing it for people who missed out I guess, but I will be gladly sticking with my originals. The slight increases in articulation are not worth the worse looks to me, the 1.0 bodies are still quite good.
>>
>>10935998
Yeah the retard saying "throw away your old figures" is, well, we all know who it is...
Old figures have merit, even if they are 2mm shorter. Many of the older figures have better paint apps, such as the edge highlights. I still enjoy my infiltrators. Only figures with "feature creep" that I'm bugged by is the hard hand guys, and it's JUST their hard hands. Glad that's over now.

Keep buying the new stuff and you won't even notice a year from now.

It's so silly to even argue, when you should be buying more Joytoys.
>>
>>10936463
You do realize that Marines can be different heights, right? There's guys like Abaddon who are gargantuan even by Astartes standards (even before being blessed by the Mark of Chaos Ascendent) and at the other end of the spectrum there's that one Imperial Fist who's barely taller than a mortal man. But you'd know that if you weren't a filthy secondary who does not own a single model.
>>
>>10936503
Why do you keep agreeing with me, yet keep sounding so angry?

>>
>>10936505
First of all, more than one anon is talking to you.
Secondly, you are an annoying troll and we wish you would go away.
Thirdly, the old toys are not "outdated". They even said the increase in size was to accommodate better articulation and had nothing to do with scale. Personally I think the older ones were plenty poseable as is and that the size creep is unnecessary, but it's hardly a deal breaker as the difference is barely noticeable. Putting an older Marine next to a newer one will just look like one Marine is slightly taller than the other. Both will still look fine next to their other non-Marine figures (Guardsmen, Sisters etc). Certainly, they will scale better than McFarlane's non-efforts, where the Sister was the same height as a Marine.
>I'm saying who cares about their height.
You clearly did, hence you derailing multiple threads whining that their Marines aren't Kaiju-sized next to normal human figures.

ugh.
Anything to do with packaging is worthless, unless there's actual premium shit going on, like fancy slipcases and/or art.

>>10936691
He's a shill so his reviews aren't that in-depth. He skims over a ton of stuff when there's something bad going on. So he's only worthwhile to watch because he reviews a ton of stuff and you get an idea of what the actual figure looks like. Sometimes you even see good amount of poses and good comparisons.

Guy seems to live in a tiny house+tiny apartment, yet he buys rooms full of shit every year. His space must be really cramped. So the limited amount of liveable space means his camera work and posing of his toys is also going to be cramped, which makes his videos look rather crappy.

>>10936525
Nah, that guy's just angery.jpg and spouting off a ton of random shit because his brain is full of seethe, despite all his posts before agreeing with me that scale doesn't matter. People should embrace the upgrade figures that are replacing the outdated figures, instead of coping.
The new figures are really amazing.
>>
>>10937588
>He's a shill so his reviews aren't that in-depth
I don't find that personally, he does go through the figures pretty in-depth and point out issues, but then when it comes to his summary, he says everything he reviews is the best thing ever, from fortnite toys to model kits to joytoy, it's weird. I think he has parents in England and in-laws in some other SEA country so he stores tons of shit at their houses. Would be crazy to me to have to much stuff just in storage.
>>
>>10937592
Nah, his reviews are shit. He purposely avoids doing stuff he does in other reviews when there's a known issue. I don't know if you're a phoneposter or not, but the file names for my images are how he weasels out of doing good comparisons.
Guy has a mountain of toys he can use to give a good idea of how the figures compare to one another, but he's really selective of what figures he chooses for when there's a sensitive issue. But some random figure gets compared to a dozen other figures/lines.

Same shit with range of motion. Some figures get a complete work out, others he either passes or glosses over a certain pose. Other technical issues (usually paints) aren't even brought up.

And like you said, his summaries are super duper positive. His reviews all just sound like it comes straight out of Gamepro or EGM.

The more lines you buy, the more you'll notice he's avoiding issues and which lines he'll be more open about (usually old ones that are no longer sold in stores). Like i said, I only watch his reviews because he's sometimes the only one doing a review for some figures, because he gets a room full of toys every year. Most any other reviewer is better.
It's simply insane how many toys he gets, given how small his kitchen and dining room(?) is. I probably get as much stuff too, but i actually have room for them.
>>
>>10937609
You don't think perhaps he compares them to new toys since they are also ones he's reviewed recently and so he has them lying around?
>>

>>10937612
He does a ton of reviews for many toylines, so some reviews get figures worked out better and compared more than other reviews. So it's not him being a completely shit reviewer, because he knows well enough to do it for other toys.
And it isn't because he's last month's toys are hidden under a pile of brand new toys, because toys from 2-3 years ago still show up.

I mean, I think I'm pretty bad with "losing" some figures in my closets, but i have 234098234098 other figures i can bring out when i make comparisons.

Of course, it could be he only compares brand new figures to brand new figures of the same line, because the people giving him free shit don't want to see other company's toys in his reviews.. but that's how literally shilling works
>>

Nah, I disagree, as new designs definitely feel more like a guy in power armor, and less like a plastic model of a guy in power armor, but I will still love my initial terminator figure. Plain terminator has an alt head, which honestly I think I might go for, over a beacon and another assault cannon, but damn, a rotating assault cannon does make me salty that I got the non rotating variant lol. I don't own any of the infiltrators personally, but I do have the squad of Kreig guardsmen which is also an early JT production, and they are slightly larger than 1:18 Star Wars figures. I find it hard to believe that the infiltrators could possibly be even smaller than them.
>>
Reminder that most of the size complaints is a single schizo pretending to be multiple anons.

The size changes are less than 1cm.
>>
Meanwhile, 1/18 casuals like me dont care about accurate heights so as long as they tower over 1/18 figures and only buy these guys because they look cool and I can roleplay "fallout" with space marines as brotherhood of steel paladins. I am salty about the claims of better articulation though for the new figures.

Apparently someone at joytoy accidentally posted a video that wasn't meant to go live yet. Seems they are doing the newer chaplain in terminator armour, the video has him with the 4-headed crozius and a storm bolter. Hopefully it comes with the relic shield as well. Don't think I'd get it in any case, looks pretty boring.

These >>10937666 terminators are up for pre-order. Interesting price mix, the vanilla termies are cheaper than Justaerin, Cataphractii and Deathwing, but the Captain is almost as much as abbadon and the Librarian is even more than the SoH Praetor.
>>
Wish they'd sell a shoulder pack or something so we could swap out the UM shoulders on the Librarians, Chaplains, Tech Marines, etc with other chapters.

I don't care about HH as far as lore or anything like that (Mechanicum and Solar Auxilia models are cool, but that's about the extent of my interest), but I'm curious: is there any reason Abaddon would have grown significantly since HH? He's not part daemon like Morty, Magnus, Fulgrim, or Angron.

Seriously, i don't get why people are upset about the newer figures, when they've always been 1:18.
People who are whining about the newer figures making their old figures look outdated are just autistic. Who even cares about a slight height difference. It's not like GW cares either.
>>
>>10939273

>>
>>10939353
I thought they just got expired coupons so they can pretend they can afford to eat american fastfood?

And i find it hard to believe everyone who is complaining about the new figures being taller are samefag, because some of them seemed perfectly happy with their old figures until Joytoy made them outdated
>>
>>10939061
Once again, there will be no accessory packs. While it was never said outright, I suspect this is GW's meddling. Back when JoyToy was trying to get the Mk.VII helms released, they also showed off some other loose accessories that looked like they could have been an accessory set. It seems like those were struck down along with the helmets, and we have since heard from JoyToy themselves that there won't be any accessory packs.

I suggest buying a 3D printed pauldron off Etsy, or there are some sellers on eBay who part out figures.
>>

Lesson 1 of being a 40K fan: whenever you see some completely moronic choice in action, look to GW themselves first
>>
>>10939719
Isn't it obvious? Most of us have suspected for years that the massive multi-billion dollar toy corporations have been lying to us about how much this shit actually costs. The fact that JoyToy has produced literally hundreds of unique molds (many of which have zero capability for parts reuse!) in around 2 years, and are not struggling but in fact thriving, really tells you something. You've been fleeced by greedy, out-of-touch CEOs who would rather pad out their salaries than pay for a new mold. By contrast, the JoyToy owner is a toy fanatic himself, and actually cares about making the coolest toys possible.
>>
>>10939794
plus I mean, for better or worse, these guys just won't stop trying to improve. The 1.0 intercessor mold was already pretty great. I had very few complaints with it, and would happily have kept collecting 1.0 bodies. But they kept going. 2.0, then 3.0. Now an entirely new scale even! I don't necessarily LIKE all of the changes they've made, but it does demonstrate a dogged willingness to try to improve their product. These are not "sit around on our ass and rake in the money" type people.

JoyToy's articulation, accessories, sculpted details, paint applications, short preorder windows, and availability after release are usually better than figma or whatever Japanese 1/12 toy.
>>
>>10940197
Do not give the retard (you)s, he never shuts up.
>>
>>10940197
And by "short preorder windows" I mean the toy is released soon after announcement, unlike figma or whatever, which can sometimes be released a year or more after announcement.
>>
>>10939951
It's really mind-boggling. They already have at least a hundred unique molds. They seem to have slowed down with variation within waves, though. The Horus Heresy waves show alot of mold reuse as do the new Terminators.
>>
>>10940022
>HOLY SHIT THEY CHARGE AS MUCH FOR A PORSCHE 911 AS THEY DO FOR A FORD F150 WHICH IS A MUCH BIGER VEHICLE WITH A MUCH HIGHER TOWING CAPACITY
that's how you sound
and if you don't get that you never will.
>>
>>10940203
I wish that they would do more mold reuse. They have already created unique trinkets for several different legions, so all they need to do at this point is repaint all of the figures that they are releasing exclusively as smurfs into new legion color schemes and add their existing legion-specific trinkets to make new figures. It's really annoying that we aren't getting terminators, captains, lieutenants, veterans, etc. from other chapters. But I'm thinking at this point that GW is only allowing them to create figures that have a GW-painted official model.
>>
>>10940209
I would've preferred that each wave be different chapters. Example; the hellblaster wave of 3 UMs? Instead make one a dark angel and one a blood angel. Wave of aggressors? Make one a space wolf, another a BT, etc etc. why use 3 figure slots on the same chapter, when you can make 3 different chapters, at least!

Butt yeah, I basically agree with you that we should get some more variety. I don't mind similar waves when it's more than just "tactical marine #1, #2, and #3, I liked how the sons of Horus had one guy with the bayonet, the other with the back banner, and another be the sergeant with plasma pistol and sword.

Wow that's insane that Joytoy produces better 1:18 figures for the same price as 1:12 figures by Japanese collector companies and actually keeps them in stock longer! How are they even able to do that!??!

IT's so mindblowing that I never really noticed toys didn't come with as many accessories or were as detailed as Joytoy's warhammer figures until now! They truly are producing a revolutionary toyline!

China really is the greatest country in the world, so we have to send tiktoks to our legislative branches im Europe and America, to tell them to stop the sanctions that are stopping China from producing revolutionary products, just like their 1/12-priced 1:18 figures!

The master chief, I got from a local CVS pharmacy for about two dollars because they were trying to get rid of it
>>
>>10941376
They're alright for $15, but I think they're cheaper elsewhere. If you like 1:12 better than 1:18, then yeah, the McFarlane's are great, otherwise, though, definitely go for the joyous; there's SO much more options out there, and basically the same figures, but better, for only slightly more (you can get a really cool DA intercessor for like $25).

>>10941272

It never did unless the bigger figure is like, 3 times the size of the smaller figure.
Meanwhile, a JoyToy Space Marine is actually slightly larger than some of the smaller Figmas in terms of mass, has a greater partscount and has more and more intricate paint apps and yet costs less. I've gotten most of my JT Marines for under £40. Good luck getting a modern Figma for that.

Wow, China is truly ahead of everyone else for creating molds where size doesn't matter anymore. They're truly better than Figmas of loli toys, but what about male Figma toys, like knights and space marines, or 1:12 Figuarts and 1:12 Mafex figures?

China working beyond 3 dimensions is some high tech shit man.

Care to elaborate on how Joytoy turned came up with this revolutionary new molding method where they're using more molds to produce 4.5" figures than 6" figures made up of the same amount of parts?

I mean, what special plastic are they even using where their mass is much greater? IS it some top secret Chinese plastic that no other toy company uses?

Taiwan, Philipines, Vietnam, and India rightfully belong to China!

So tell me about the magical molding techniques where size no longer matters in their production and how their plastics contain so much mass that it's unparallellalalble to 1/12 Japanese plastics that it costs them just as much to produce their 1/18 figures.

I became aware of 40K in the early 90's when I was in my teens. I've never actually played the 40K boardgame (though, I've played the Space Hulk 2nd edition boardgame and various Space Hulk video games) but I've purchased many miniatures and codexes and read probably a hundred or more novels. I love Terminators and Dreadnoughts and I own every metal Terminator and Dreadnought ever made (except I'm missing exactly two parts: the extremely rare Chaos Dreadnought claw feet). I also own every ForgeWorld Dreadnought and accessory ever made and every plastic GW Dreadnought ever made. The JoyToy Terminators (particularly the Lightning Claw Terminators) and Dreadnoughts are a dream come true for me and I'm going to continue buying at least one from each wave if they keep making them.

Took like a decade before i found out there were even books and i also started reading the comics... which are apparently going for the price of a single 1:18 Joytoy figure or a 1/12 Japanese collector figure.
Must be made of the same top secret expensive Chinesium plastic and magical molds Joytoy is using.

You've clearly not touched a bandai primaris before. It's not 'light' in the same way that other plastic, solidly built toys are. It feels and articulates like an HG model gundpla kit. Things flex and bend and there's a generic cheapness to everything, it feels like a KO. When your high price collectible feels a lot less sturdy than a super minipla kit, you've got issues.

Yes, this is known and you're describing their Robot Damasshi line, which i have bought multiple figures of over the years, because they're solid figures.
>When your high price collectible feels a lot less sturdy than a super minipla kit, you've got issues.
This is just a retard's take, because you're so used to bottom of the barrel materials being used on toys and the basic animal thinking that heavy = quality.
It's part of why diecast is still so heavily used, including the materials are so cheap (hence Hot Wheels being $1 for nearly 30 years), and also because of the belief that it's more durable.
We've come a very long way from when it comes to plastics and there's a reason why legos have long been considered the gold standard when it comes to durability, despite their lightweight feel.

You can tell that Bandai put more effort into their oversized and oddly shaped figures, because again, they have the forethought and knowledge that heavier plastics will make the joints wear out faster.

And i should note that usually the first things to go on gunpla (aside from dainty antenna) are the denser, heavier plastics used for their joints. And it should go without saying, but since there are retards here, actual toys use tougher plastics because they don't use kid-friendly plastics that can be easily cut off sprues.

>>10942793
This post is so full of strawman, it's a barn! He didn't say it needs to weight like an actual space marine, you fucking idiot, he said it feels brittle and delicate, like it can break very easily, which is a valid complaint for a TOY. No, it doesn't need to be durable enough to withstand a toddler thrashing it about, but it shouldn't feel like it will break if you handle it like an egg! Your so damn retarded nuance eludes you.
Most likely this is just subby, with his delusional strawmen, extremist takes, and absolute hatred of joytoy, he feels the need to zealously defend any other line.

>retard who doesn't own any toys
Again, what he described are the Robot Damashi line that Bandai has been producing for like a decade.
Again, people who bought the earlier Bandai WH40k and also own the RD figures said they're basically the same shit.

Now go look at the RD general (if one even exists right now) and how much those people love that line despite feeling like Gunpla and how there's almost zero issues with it for probably a decade of the Generals existing on /toy/.

Bandai shit almost never has issues with plastics, because they're a giant toy company who hires engineers and chemists who know what they're doing (like most giant toy companies).

Again, you're a retard who doesn't know shit.

Since when did I defend diecast toys, you retard? The way you're talking it seems like you went all in on Bandai's WH40K line, including their overpriced Primaris Captain. In that case you're the retard here. Robot Damashiis are BETTER than Bandai's WH40K line in every way. And yeah everyone knows diecast joints aren't the best, this isn't some sort of 200 IQ take you keep spouting. You don't look smart or enlightened for pointing it out.

Bandai's WH40K is garbage. Even McFarlane's trash is much better.

Yeah, it's subby and his schizo ranting. Nice strawman that I said that all bandai stuff is bad because it's so light, way to miss the part where I said that the other anon doesn't like how it feels, aka, his subjective opinion/assessment of the toy is negative, and that's not objective fact about the toy. Way to demonstrate your lack of understanding of nuance, it's always satisfying when retards demonstrate exactly how retarded they are. But then again, all I did was predict that a monkey would fling it's own shit around lol.

>>10943031
>Those don't count because I said so

>>
>>10943087
Just equating you with the retards who think diecast is a valuable substance just because it's heavy.
Competely retarded take to equate heavier plastics as being higher quality or even durable.

And no, i didn't buy any of Bandai's Space Marines, because they really didn't look better than McFarlane's and turned out that they weren't more poseable either.
These threads were pretty great in the beginning, because we had a lot of honest posts from people comparing their toys.

>Robot Damashiis are BETTER than Bandai's WH40K line in every way
Way to show how dishonest you are, considering the RD line has little to no paint, while Bandai is at least giving their WH40k figures shading and woweee, even metallic gold paint.
And earlier posters said they were equal except price. So what changed since?

BTW, i was literally the first person on /toy/ to reveal the facts about diecast and i like to squash any ignorant ideas by constantly reminding people about it, since it took years for the retards to finally accept diecast is shit.
It's a harder to do the same with plastics, because we rarely get info on what plastics they use, muchless the actual formulas they're using. So i can only point toward lines like LEGO using light plastics and withstanding children abusing it or polycarbonate being used for bullet proof glass and CD/DVD/BDs used as frisbees without shattering. ... or pointing to lines using made of heavier plastics being brittle, but i really can't bring these up without inflaming so many buttholes.

Gosh this makes me want joytoy to tackle tactical squad members, one with an auspex, one with an old flamer or plasma gun, one with a bolter and the veteran sergeant.

I curse the day primaris shit reared its head and normies caught onto warhammer, I wait 30 years to finally get my warhammer figures and they make them out of the most corporate slopped designed by committee aberrations.

It is inevitable that all good things come to an end, the vanguard veterans are so awesome but they just don’t quite scratch that itch like devastators, assault marines and tactical marines.

>>10944390
had to clarify that point, because your the retarded one, asking for mk VII, and then dismissing every mk VII (and older) figures that are already out. first its 'I want mk VII', then when wolf gets pointed out, 'no i doesnt count, it doesnt have the helmet', so the sternguard vet with mk VII helmet gets announced, but now its 'eww its shit, still no mk VII'.

>>10943578
I've actually only just started collecting these things, but yes I am looking out for the Grey Knights. The Necron lord is quite disappointing, and one of his dangly chest chains snapped off almost immediately, but I was very impressed with the others.

More little guys in an accessory type pack would be great. As well as Nurglings you could have servo-skulls and Cherubs to go with all the various Imperials, Necron Scarabs, Tyranid Rippers, and Tau Drones.

wolves seem to be starting with character/dreadnaught
maybe we'll be getting Thousand Sons, if it continues pairing loyalist/traitor legions?
>>
>>10943621
Its a non-answer, but I like all of them for different reasons. Beakie with Chainsword I found easiest to pose dynamically for some reason, Incredibly Angry Darth Vader's helmet is nicely painted, and Snoot has a lot of extra touches as the leader like a giant aquilla on the jump pack (and an extra head, although I don't think I've ever seen anyone use it). The one major downside I've found is Vader's shield - I don't know if its just an issue with mine, but the handle is very loose in his grip so it keeps flopping about, and its quite hard to pose him like he's actually fighting.

>>10946207
Would make sense, Space Wolves and Thousand Sons are the traditional matchup and Geigor Big Claw was part of a set with with 30k Ahriman as his opposite number. They could maybe be planning something similar with Abbadon, and have a "modern" 40k counterpart at some point.

I can't decide whether I should go all-in on some Space Wolves right now. What on earth are you talking about? Even Venerable Dreadnought legs are fully articulated and move on every major axis. Were you too scared to handle it and didn't notice the articulation? Hips move way forward and back (you can make it do back-to-front splits even) and a little bit outward for a slightly wide stance, knees work as they should, ankles are balljointed. That's quite good for such stumpy designs.

I'd say its bad not just because the lore is changing, but because its obviously changing for do-nothing, "you may now praise us peasants" reasons instead of adding anything genuine to the setting
its just like pronoun selections in games now, these things always existed in games but now companies want to do the most bare minimum amount of work and expect to be praised for it, in this case claiming the non-existent head under the golden helmet has lipstick on and has apparently always had lipstick on
if they actually made female custodes something distinct on their own (ideally without trampling all over the SoS's grave) that'd be one thing, and it might even be a good thing, but it'd also be going counter to the "anything you can do I can do better" spirit of the whole female space marine, and now custodes, idea
this is just laziness and a display that GW doesn't care about the integrity of their work anymore

>>10951259
The custodes have only had "lore" since 7th edition, retard. And the only thing that had to be changed was removing the word "sons". If you actually knew the "lore" you're fixating on, you'd know custodes don't even go through the same procedure space marines do, so the "no girls allowed" rule doesn't even apply to them.

So, we can discuss the Custodes thing here? Because people are getting banned and threads have been deleted on /tg/.
>>

No amount of half-baked reasoning will make it make sense when we've only ever seen male custodes through-ought 40+ hourus heresy books and more 40k era books after that.

If there were actually females this whole time, they would have shown up in the Horus Heresy series, but SURPRISE!, they didn't.

>7th edition
Lmao, custodes have only ever been male since the first time they were introduced, decades ago. This is purely the result of some GW board-meeting to get more ESG and blackrock-bux and that's literally all there is to it.

I'm a long time /toy/ poster with 2500ish pts of models that I painted myself, and I play regularly. I find pride flag paint jobs retarded and ugly, and I personally don't really care what the canon says, since it's a game where half the fun is building and customizing your models to suit fluff you made up for your own dudes. I just like watching people sperg out at the word "she" appearing in the fluff no one reads.

Sure, have a pic of my transport case loaded up to test what would fit on each level, I guess. Obviously not everything fits, I've got a knight and a flyer plus whatever I've painted since the pic as well.

Imagine "respecting the lore" of a franchise whose rules, fluff, and trash-tier novels are written by dozens of people with no consistent vision. Literally the only common thread through all 40k media is that they are owned by the same company. You can literally just decide that you don't like the new canon and ignore it, but instead you're throwing a baby tantrum on a mongolian basket weaving forum, and not even the board dedicated to tabletop gaming. It's all fiction, and you don't have to beg a corporation to tell you which fiction is less fake, you can decide for yourself.

>>10952129
Your concession that the source material you are citing does not go back decades is accepted. The majority of depictions of custodes are wearing identical golden helmets and armor, I'm not sure how you'd even decide what their genitals are.
>You will never be a woman
Thank christ for that, what an awful fate.

Knew it was coming with the Amazon TV-series, but I had hoped the woke retardation would be confined to the TV-show. 40k already had a good deal of brand recognition, but I guess a normie-spotlight like the Cavil's show was the final nail in coffin.

The powers that be can't allow "classic" 40K to be mainstream.
>>
>>10952113
I hate this argument because it glosses over the real issue with strawmen; hurr durr your just -ist and -phobic. The issue is changing what has been to suit those that may be, rather than those that are. It's what ruined Halo, it's what ruined Star Wars, and it will ruin 40k, ESPECIALLY since one of 40k's biggest appeal is the long standing established lore.

People don't hate this because they hate women, or don't want icky girls to invade their boys club, they hate that the company is willing to abandon their LONG standing fans to cater to POTENTIAL new fans. Halo died because they didn't want to make Halo anymore, they wanted to make some new shit that nobody asked for, but they wanted the success of Halo, because they knew that their shit ideas won't stand on their own. Halo fans just wanted Halo, but instead we got stupid shit like halo 5 and the HBO show.
People are mad about female custodes because they know it's not about expanding, enhancing, or even challenging the established lore in a meaningful way, it's about pandering, and pandering has never been good for anything.
Primaris was handled much better than this shit show, because they at least made them controversial within universe as well (in other words, they challenged the established lore in a meaningful way which adds many great storytelling potential, such as some chapters outright murdering the desperately needed reinforcements).

>I hate this argument
What argument? Is the person using "-ist" and "-phobic" in the room with us? I'm a white male with a wife, I quietly scoff when people make a fuss about isms and phobias, and I roll my eyes when my company talks about "diversity equity and inclusion". You're arguing with someone who isn't here. I just think it's embarrassing that people like you think of themselves as a righteous warrior in a secret culture war when they argue that 2024's corporate product is inferior to 2019s, because the new one changed the "lore" slightly.

New star wars isn't bad because "woke", it's bad because it's been purchased and mismanaged by a corporation that should have already known how to manage an IP that valuable. Star Wars is a perfect example of how you should pick for yourself what is "canon" when you're dealing with franchises managed by a revolving door of people with their own idea of what it should be. You can just ignore the sequels or the prequels, or the random series they make, it's all just fiction. You can choose what fake things are faker.

Stop entangling your identity and your self-worth with the machinations of companies whose only motive is profit. Take the /yourdudes/ pill and let 40k be a loose framework for the story you want to tell. "Lore" is for fags, embrace fluff, and write your own.

>>
>>10952304
My bad, I forgot to link the overarching issue with YOUR particular take (I got interrupted mid post, and just hastily hit post when I came back to it).

Your complacency. People like you that try to act above it all. "It's not an issue" becomes "your being dramatic and making stuff up in your head", which then becomes "it's not THAT bad, this recent drop in quality is anomalous", and so fourth. If you don't care that much about something, thats fine, but don't try to act like anybody that does is wrong.

The funny thing is, relatively speaking, IM not in that deep! I've only been around for 4 years, but my stake is the obvious pattern of ruination that I'm sadly too familiar with. I was hoping that 40k would be a safe haven for lore nerds to sperg out over continuity and such autistic shit, because it can be fun to become entrenched in things. And at one point, I, too, was naively complacent, like you. I thought such concepts as "NORMIE GET OUT! REEEEEEEE-!" was stupid, but now I see the wisdom in such. I thought that the idea of a cabal of "woke" or "SJWs" or whatever, trying to infiltrate fandoms to make them compliant with "the agenda" was ridiculous schizophrenia, but it's happened to so many things!

Now I wonder, is the issue these parasitic invaders, or the complacent fools that let them run unchecked?
