Got my first two JoyToy figures in today. Overall I really like them, especially for the price. I am a little worried about the elbow joint in the female's right arm though. It's very thin and when I tried to use the swivel it towards her body, it didn't want to move and felt like the joint was about to snap, but it's fine in the other direction so I'll just avoid doing that in the future. I'm already trying to find what other of these army builder figures I want to order next.

Unless you never touch them again, it'll probably snap on you no matter how delicate you are with it. Even the male's.
So get your enjoyment out of them while they're still whole.

Is Warhammer 40k general dead? The last thread died in the midst of offtopic shitposting and nobody ever made a new one.

I want some more 1:18 scale historical figures so badly. WWII is great but I mean like medieval, American Revolution, Napoleonic Wars and WWI. I’d love gunpowder era but you’d have to keep costs down to allow people to collect enough to form a line.

Picked up a couple more figures for my joy toy diorama, Oola from Jabba’s 2010 playset and the last Johnie Bullet before he sold out on bbts. Scorched earth initiative is a cool line, I hope they do more.

>>10956956
What? 1/12 is a dead scale for dinosaurs. Even Nanmu's Jurassic Park III raptors are going to be the only 1/12 figures they are doing, Carnotaurus, Tyrannosaurus, and Spinosaurus are all planned to be 1/35. Namu has even gone out of its way to call people who keep asking for a 1/12 Tyrannosaurs dumb on their Instagram page. 1/18 and 1/35 are the only viable scales for Dinosaurs and the only ongoing lines are in those scales.

How much did you pay for Oola?
>>
>>10957913
$90 loose, but she’s pretty rare and much better than the POTF version, and it’s not like Disney will ever be adding her to TVC.
>>
>>10958013
Yea, it sucks. I've been wanting to just make a custom of her with a HACKS body since I know we'll never get a reissue or new figure of her but I can't seem to find a headsculpt of her anywhere which is weird. Also not sure how I would do her fishnets either
>>
>>10957801
So glad he went for the classic gray body with red crests instead of making it neon colored
>>
>>10958028
Hmm yeah I’d expect her to be a popular custom, surprised it’s so hard to find a headsculpt.
>>
>>10958086
You'd think but the only things I can find are retro styled models that aren't really what I want. Or sculpted statues of her that would take some work to remove the head and then get it usable on a figure. I'm pretty much just going to have to get a generic Twi'Lek head and make due
>>
>>10957165

The received test sculpts and showed the fighter pilot and german earlier this week. The first few wave release were announced a couple of months back, but damn if I remember now.

I believe the first was by Joefest, but I may be wrong.
>>
>>10958029
I was honestly not looking forward to the Cyberzoic Allosaurus when David first showed off the concept art. The reds and oranges are so much more muted on the body which looks so much better than what was planned

FUCK!!!
I just had a joy Toy knee go.
I can't remember if those are some of the joints they sometimes ship with the figure or not.

I also had a neck peg break off a Duke today.
either there's something hinky with the plastic or I have developed some sort of ENORMOUS strength.
I was holding the body and just tilted the head.
- it's an old figure and it's not like I haven't turned his head before.

One of the Operator Dudes. I'll post tomrrow.

I know it's closer to 1:16 at slightly over four inches tall, plus it belongs more under the fur stuff, but what does everyone think of Papo? I saw their feline mutant warriors and they would make cool artist's molds and models.

They showed off the rest of Buck’s Team Operation Sandstorm unit. While I’m probably not gonna get them, I do love having canonical faces for all those masked men. The little lore snippets in their descriptions are neat too, getting small glimpses into the worldbuilding is always a treat. My autistic ass wants to try cataloguing all the little factions and characters and weapons into a database.

Digging these new figures, word to the wise. There is a problem with the T-Bars so swap them out with some old Hasbro Joe ones (I had a few leftover Spy Troops/Valor vs Venom to use). Worked a treat.

>>
>>10965767
Was eyeballing these recently. Did you get any of the ninja themed bad guys? How's the plastic quality feel/accessory management in their hands and stored on the figure?
I got a few of the Strike Force Alpha fellas, and visually they're great but the plastic isn't too choice. It's cool they tried to do them with customization in mind, but the limbs are primarily PVC plastic which feels a bit gummy. And it does lend to the arms especially feeling very loose and fidgety, 3 of the 5 I got had that issue. The accessories on those also feels very brittle. Kind of hoping they just go for the classic Joe construction at some point. Have thought about just swapping the arms with some vintage ones, which is a shame as the wrist swivel is a huge plus for new O-ring figures.

They feel the closest to ARAH Joes just with swivel wrists, not like Strike Force Alpha or Heavy Armor Toys. Now the T-bars have a problem factory side but they're sorting out and getting replacement ones to customers. I just swapped mine out with ones from old Joes (some Spy troops era ones too) and they work perfectly now. Weapons are like Marauder's early stuff.

They're neck and neck with the Roboskull O'ring (who shares tooling with one of the Callsign; Longbow 1980s set cold war and friends) for quality.

arm joints are great and don't have that looseness in the shoulder that a few of the Strike Force Alpha has. And they feel like a proper ARAH Joe does to me. Just with a 21st century gear aesthetic.

Thanks for the info man, will probably grab 3 or 4 to test out the waters. That Skeletron might be my figure of the year with how he can have his entire load out on the figure, plus he just feels really damn high quality. I kind of am hoping delta-17 gets a bit more retro sci-fi action going on as I'm not super into modern military, but those sculpts are very nice.
