That new Ghost Rider and She-Hulk are the first two Marvel Legends in a long time I'm actually excited about and grabbing. Sold off most of my collection two years ago but I might just have to rebuild a smaller, tighter one using the best modern figures.

Thus the cycle of addiction begins anew. Yet another who was free of plastic addiction falls back in to old habits.

Wait for MCU to return, then comics will take a backseat again. Disney won't allow MCU to fail, it has to much earnings potential

Is it dead though? One big, actually good avengers movie could bring a lot of fans back.

>>
>>10954454
Yeah Deadpool & Wolverine and Secret Wars will get full waves of figures. I could see other movies get scaled back though. Cap 4, Thunderbolts, and Blade getting a couple of exclusive figures. D+ shows getting Funkos.
>>
>>10954396
Eh, I don't hate the MCU outright. When it was good, it was good, there's no denying that. Obviously the current crop of shit post Endgame sans NWH is pretty trash, but that doesn't retroactively ruin the good stuff imo. I will say, it is great that we're seeing more classic or semi classic comic characters. There's no denying the ML collectors are eating good right now.

The latest few Target exclusives have been relatively easy to find in store, and online. Generally I don't like Selects, but these 2 are special. It's a damn shame about their size because they honestly put the legends to shame.

Bare in mind the legends Sue is still on an 8 year old buck from that TRU CW 3 pack. Still has single jointed elbows, no bicep swivel, no waist swivel and it's double joint knees have pins, it's honestly embarrassing. Don't even get me started on Reed.

Overall, the set's alright. Hank is on the Sunfire mold which kind of sucks tbqh. He's painless though so he's got that going for him. Imo the Hank head sits kind of funny on him. He definitely looks better with the Giant Man head. Janet is the real winner of the set though. Both heads are great. The unhelmeted head looks fantastic and the helmeted one is nice since her antenna and headset are articulated. That's fun. The wings are the same ones we've seen before. They work well enough. All in all it's just an ok set, Janet is the standout. The accessories are good though and it's nice to have a Hank head. Although if he's normal size, I prefer him as Yellowjacket instead but I get what they were going for. Not going to replace my 12in Giant Man in my Avengers display, but I may swap out the tiny Wasp sitting in Hawkeye's arrow for the new Jan.

With a push for HULKs and Iron Man this year, I really think they're ramping up for a Fin Fang Foom Haslab. That boulder toss at the end of the stream could be a call back to the 2003 Throwing Hulk fig. But I'd rather see a FFF Classic Hulk recolor of the 80th retro version. >It's getting embarrassing how little about actual MLs or Marvel in general these trolls know.
You just figured it out?

50% of /toy/ are brand fanboys and poorfags, who just hate something because it's not made by their favorite company.
And 100% of them have next to no knowledge about the properties that they bought or criticize.

That ignorance used to be way more noticeable like 8 years when some companies just got a license, so there was a sudden flux of newfags entering these threads talking about how X was or isn't comic book accurate. Pic of "ultimate Venom" despite not being ultimate venom

Also, you should have seen the Warhammer thread with the announcement that there have always been female custodes. Entire thread erupted with shit talking about how they've gone back on 30 years of blah blah blah, yet none of them knew anything about Warhammer 40k until 2 years ago and responded to all criticism about the toys not being faithful to the source material by saying the lore source material is fake and gay.
/toy/ is full of newfags and bandwagoneers

Oh he's definitely lacking self-awareness, probably even on the spectrum. When he's had his hypocrisy pointed out in his face he still insists he's right. I love how ignorant you are that you don't even understand how.... ignorant you sound. I mean, how more ignorant can you even be? You sound almost braindead level of ignorant, since you think someone was actually there for 18 hours straight.
You go to /co/ in 2020 and ask about a character that has 30+ years of retcons added to the character, despite the argument being about a toy based from the early 90s Bagley comics. Back when it was just a goopy creaturing laying ontop of a person in 1992 and not a zombie-goopy hybrid that doesn't need to support a human anymore in 2020.

You're just a brand fanboy/poorfag who has no idea about the Marvel characters you're trying to talk about and you probably don't even care.

You are truly an idiot. First of all, they are contractually obligated to make the product to promote the D+ and MCU crap, so Hasbro has to do that no matter what. Disney will always want figures of MCU shit on shelves as a tie in.

And they made 2 full Xmen 97 waves, with a few more rumored too (or Xavier at least). That's more than most shows or movies get. It takes about a year to develop and get figures out there. You expect them to see the good reviews and fan response from two months ago and already have additional product on shelves now? Jesus, have some common sense
>>
What is the best Rocket Raccoon figure, aside from those premium Hot Toys ones?
>>
>>10958807

X-men '97 hasn't even been out that long. Literally one month ago exactly. March 20 it premiered. That anon is stupid. Even if Hasbro decided they wanted to re-issue Wave 1 or 2, that would probably still take close to a year. Everything from factory schedules, retail buying/planning, etc is decides many many months in advance.

Still, that Carnage was a great call back that actually looks like it came out of the comics. Same with their Gwenpool.

>>
>>10958833
It doesn't take that long.

Hasbro used to be able to make reorders pretty fast (half a year at most), either by warehoused shit or do X.5 waves to include re-releases that changed up the case ratios (instead of dupes, old figures included).
Maybe it's not possible today, but it took less than half a year to do it back in the day.

Plentiful online, sure. But not at retail here. I saw one Magneto at one Target one time (on clearance even) and it was long after my BBTS preorder had shipped.

But then distribution of everything here is shit. We basically get the unsellable leftovers from everywhere else. Want the niggers from Masterverse? We've got them. Nigger MJ from that Spiderman retro wave? Loads of them. Niggers from Nu Wars? Piled high as an elephant's eye. And so on and so on.

I make almost six figures and I bet I haven't _bought_ six figures in stores for half a decade at least and it's hasn't been for lack of trying either.
>>
>>10959049
I know it's anecdotal, but my two local Targets that are less than a 10 minute drive from one another had full pegs of the whole wave. One Target full pegs of one half and another Target has the other half. It took a while before everything cleared out but I'd say around February was when the last stragglers finally sold. There's still a Magneto at my local Walmart with a Rose and Spider Woman from the previous retro Spidey wave but that Walmart doesn't get many toy restocks.

>I make almost six figures
Why being this up? This has nothing to do with the distribution in your area.

Suggesting that Hasbro under produced figures for a popular franchise like X-Men is not that controversial of a statement faggots. It doesn't change the fact that entire 4ft sections for Marvel Legends in stores all around the country have been barren for a while now when they could be cashing in on the shows popularity to sell more figures. Just seems like a missed opportunity for a company that is struggling financially and that maybe they misjudged the market.
>>
>>10959192
>Suggesting that Hasbro under produced figures for a popular franchise like X-Men is not that controversial of a statement faggots
X-Men 97 got two waves within a month of each other. Even MCU rarely gets two waves back to back dedicated to the same movie/show.

That Mr. Fantastic is actually good, though.
>>
>>10954720
Some Selects, like Mr. Fantastic, actually kinda make sense in the larger scale. The Selects Iceman is fantastic.
>>
>>10959192
It's been said time and again that these figures take a year and half to produce. The first wave came out in fuckin October, six months before the show even came out. I don't think Disney expected the show to be quite as popular as it is, hence the lack of marketing until after the show actually debuted. I know it's frustrating that they can't instantaneously correct this, but producing more figures takes time, I give it another few months before the second shipments of wave one hit, and hopefully by the time the second round of wave 2 comes around, they correct the distribution s bit.

I know it's shitty and it comes off as me defending Hasbro, but I'm just being realistic with my expectations.
>>
I think this same guy was probably screaming about Hasbro not having any NWH figures right when the movie came out and refusing to understand why they didn't
>>
>>10959192
How do you still not understand?? Hasbro, like any toy company, and the retailers make decisions on order quantity and production numbers MANY MONTHS before things are on shelves. When something is more popular than they all anticipated, they can't just snap their fingers and have additional stock show up on shelves.

>>10958839
>Hasbro used to be able to make reorders pretty fast (half a year at most), either by warehoused shit or do X.5 waves to include re-releases
Those are pre-planned obviously. Not simply decided on a whim after things are out to retail. That was also back in the day when smaller online retailers like Dorkside were doing large sales volume and they actually had a reason to ship solid cases of single figures to retailers.
>>
>>10959222
It truly baffles me how some people can collect toys for decades, live on boards like these and STILL not have a single fucking clue how the industry works.
>>
>>10959211
It's also worth remembering that the show got delayed and we've had 4" figures pegwarming for almost a year. I wouldn't be surprised if Hasbro just held off on planning any more 97 figures beyond the two waves that were already being worked on until they could see the response to the actual show. There's no doubt we're getting more but it'd be unrealistic to expect them this soon.
>>
>>10959235
I wouldn't be surprised if they are planning a third wave this year just because they know 90's X-Men sells but yeah, I wouldn't count on it. The Quicksilver and Professor X leaks are probably one-offs and not part of a specific wave. Hell, Quicksilver is probably on Avengers packaging anyway.

>Those are pre-planned obviously.
How many months? We know it takes about 14-17 months to launch a line, from prototypes to production, but it's a lot less when it's simply just swapping around the molds.
>Not simply decided on a whim after things are out to retail.
Nah, we saw them doing it for movie lines like Iron Man 2 and GI Joe. X.5 waves used to be a thing due to retailers/customers wanting more of Z.
I don't know if you remember the GI Joe 2 movie way back in 2012, but you can see how Hasbro responded to "huge" sales from retailers going all in in supporting it, then the negative response from fans hating on the shitting McStatues hasbro was releasing. So they tried to fix that shit by including figures with more articulation.
Of course, the movie then got delayed a month or two after the line was already in stores and product wasn't moving as briskly as a movieline with 2-10x as many orders should have. So by the time wave 2.5 was released, stores weren't ordering new stock and only stores that don't order a shit ton of stock (KMart, tru expresses(?)) were able to get those in stock.
So that's roughly 4 months for them to react to market conditions and also shows how they'er too slow to actually respond to delays.

The IM2 line was also had changes to the case assortments thanks to demand from stores/fans. Plus coupons to ensure more stock could be cleared out for upcoming waves.

Regardless if there is part reuse or not. We've been told it takes a year to a year and a half to produce a figure.

>Nah, we saw them doing it for movie lines like Iron Man 2 and GI Joe. X.5 waves used to be a thing due to retailers/customers wanting more of Z.
Close to two decades ago at this point. Different times, different economical climate. Everything is seemingly much slower now.

I'm sure Hasbro is reacting to the market demand and trying to produce more of Waves 1 and 2. Places still have Wolverine up for pre-order (sold out) but that means there's another batch coming. I give it only a few months, if that for those second batches of figures to hit, but if we want anything actually new, unless they can scramble together something, we're gonna be waiting around a year. I know this isn't 2012 anymore, but you need to temper your expectations
>>
>>10959451
point still stands, in that once something is already produced, it's a lot easier and faster (and cheaper) to get that product out again.

Whether they do or don't, it's really up to Hasbro/retailers. Mostly retailers, since they'd be the ones paying for Hasbro to start production again.

Pose Reed facing completely forward and not angled slightly. I'll admit the angle made it look worse than it actually is, but I'm sorry, he's still too short, especially compared to Sue who only seems to be an inch or two taller in the books.

And if we're being technical about it, even Kirby drew them pretty inconsistenly from panel to panel. Just the nature of comic art. So yeah I'm sure we can go back and forth all day cherrypicking images that favor both our arguments, but instead of arguing like a faggot all day, I'll just say that the Selects are too tall for my personal preference. If they work for you, more power to you. But between the scale and the single jointed limbs, in fine with sticking to my MLs. But hey, if you like them, you do you.

I can respect that. I felt the same way until I got them in hand. They obviously doesn't display well with other legends and the scale between them is totally down to the era, obviously this only works for the 60's team.

I'll agree Sue is the one that seems the most out of place with the modern hair and height, but when posed in a battle they all look fine and dare I say better than the legends due to the cool accessories.

The accessories are nice, but I wouldn't go that far. Redds limited limbs really kill him imo and Sue's face is almost as bad as the retro carded one imo. Plus Torch and Thing are outright dog water in comparison to the MLs. The Walgreens 4 still take the cake, minus Torch.

This. I don't know why people now think DD has Spider-man proportions when he has always been depicted as older, wider, bigger since, you know, he's basically a boxer-ninja. Matt's shoulders and upper body should be closer to Cap than Peter.
>>
>>10960159
I said that the RYV body was a bad choice for Matt when the set got announced and it was ultimately one of the reasons that made me skip it. I personally would've preferred whatever mold the latest Black Panther was on. I think that would work a lot better imo.

I honesty don’t think there’s enough difference to make a call one way or the other, it seems to be entirely personal preference. Figuarts has the better head and shoulders, Mafex has the better crotch and elbows. They’re both perfectly adequate figures.

it makes none of the errors the other figures make and the ones of it's own are honestly more minor than the Mafex or SHF. I didn't think I needed an argument for you, but here goes.

>no fucked up crotch/hips like SHF
Not an issue if you pose the caps correctly. Also this is down to personal preference.

>no fucked up neck/shoulders like Mafex
The Marvel Legends not having neck articulation is more of a determent to the figure than having a somewhat gappy looking set up. I'd rather have something that's kind of ugly than nothing at all.

>correct elbows
Not a big enough issue to outweigh the other pros to the SHF.

That's not even getting into accessories, the color choice on the Hasbro being WAY to vibrant, the shit tier QC, and the shitty double dipping you needed to do to get all the hands and the unmasked head, which doesn't even look like Tobey.
>>
>>10961940
>down to personal preference
It is down to personal preference and I don't prefer it, in fact it's the most common complaint about any SHF that has those hips, they're really not great
>I'd rather have something ugly than nothing at all
agree to disagree, less can be more, especially when it preserves the sculpt. Neck articulation isn't as high priority as something like butterfly joints for spidey, which the ML thankfully preserves. It makes compromises in the right areas, I think. the Mafex and SHF compromise the sculpt too much.
>correct elbows
It's still a point in the ML's favor and yeah the accessories are not good, especially if you don't get the bullshit 3 pack for all the hands. Still, Mafex and SHF are not blowing me away here, I already have all the web effects I'll ever need.
>>
>>10961950
>It is down to personal preference and I don't prefer it, in fact it's the most common complaint about any SHF that has those hips, they're really not great
They're fine if you don't pose them like a retard.

>>10961950
>agree to disagree, less can be more, especially when it preserves the sculpt. Neck articulation isn't as high priority as something like butterfly joints for spidey, which the ML thankfully preserves.
Neck articulation is pretty necessary for Spider-Man, especially for swinging poses. That's my biggest complaint with the RYV mold, no separate neck.

>It's still a point in the ML's favor and yeah the accessories are not good, especially if you don't get the bullshit 3 pack for all the hands. Still, Mafex and SHF are not blowing me away here, I already have all the web effects I'll ever need.
Whatever my guy, you wanted arguments, I gave them to you. If it boils down to you just like it better, why did you ask me for reasoning?
>>
>>10961954
I appreciate your argument, but I disagree with most of it is all. I asked because I was curious. I do think that the mafex and SHF sacrifice the sculpt too much, and disagree that not 'posing them like a retard' fixes that issue. I'm willing to accept your preference for neck articulation as a valid argument though, if you feel that way I could see you liking those figures more. I just feel that when you're charging 4x the price, they should really nail the areas that a $25 figure does, and they just don't. I like them and have bought them, but I expected better is all.
>>
>>10961958
These things aren't $100. They're $65. Inb4 shipping blah blah blah, there are places that have private warehouses where you can ship multiple things at once. Honestly, your argument really does seem to come down to poorfag cope. Which is fine. You do you. But let's call a spade a spade here...
