Old one fell off, so I'm stepping up.
Company status:
Joytoy: thriving!
McFarlane: hanging in there
Bandai: they're still around!?

Let's keep it to the toys, and no lore.

Thread question - is there a repaint that you'd really want, but hasn't been done yet?

Dunno if it counts as a toy, but I bought an aquilla necklace from starforge recently, and its pretty nice
Good size, looks nice and shiny, the necklace it came with was a little short for my taste but it had a twist latch that's a lot better than "normal" latches that I'm used to
Good necklace, wonder if I'll be able to get one of the Emperor pendant necklaces

Hey man, I'm not ashamed to admit to being a coomer, so I'd be down for sexy/slutty versions of shit! I'm also an aspiring writer, so I would like to see something challenging to the narrative like an exceptional female character in what used to be an all boys club, so long as it was handled in a narratively interesting, but not BREAKING, manner. Unfortunately, with the gaslighting from James workshop "there always been female custodes", it's gonna be handled in the WORST way. No single female custodes, with a chip on her shoulder, something to prove, and an interesting story to tell, most likely just another marry sue, super talented, well beloved, boring character...

So with the 30K Space Wolves being next, probably leading into a release of Russ, what's everyone's bets on when new BA stuff hits? Iirc there was a "leak" that said Dante soon? Fuck, that's pricier than I was anticipating. I guess it makes sense that price would sort of rise exponentially after a certain point, even the logistics of shipping something that huge and heavy with no breakage has got to be a bitch.

Hoping >>10957860 is right and it's cheaper. I definitely would like one, it would not only make an amazing centerpiece, but it's massive enough that I could have tons of figures climbing and hanging off it.
>>
>>10957850
Hardly anyone will buy at that price. I'm a re-seller and I only sold one Dreadknight. I don't think I'll get any Knights, they'll just take up space and capital for years before I sell them at fire-sale prices.

The genestealer is an awesome figure.
>>
>>10959613
What's with the "too big" comments? They fit really well next to a 1:12 figure, very similar to the minis, and not off from any other common depiction.
If your autistic and go strictly with the stated text sizes, then the Marines are too short, as primaris is supposed to be 9' tall, which should put them at 9" tall next to a 6" figure.
Each line is almost the exact same ratio in each scale (see pic).

I wouldn't say either is wrong.
>>
I just realized as I was messing with some of my Dark Angels, has JT never made a regular space marine-sized plasmagun? A lot of figures have plasma pistols, and there are combi-plasma weapons with some of the chaos terminators and a chaos plasmagun with the havocs squad leader, but the only loyalist plasmagun that I can recall them making is the one that comes with those ugly ass stormtroopers. It seems like a weird omission, similar to how they have never made a chainaxe.
>>
>>10959789

They made hellblasters which are the new Primaris plasma gun dudes. But they have cords connecting the gun to the backpack. I don't think they made ones without that backpack connector. Rules wise I don't think the heavy ones exist anymore so everyone should be using the non-cabled one? Maybe they'll make another set of toys in the future.
>>
>>10959808
I always thought that the hellblasters carried the equivalent of the firstborn devastator marines' plasma cannons, but according to the wiki, they are actually classed as regular plasma guns. Interesting.
>>
>>10959816

Yea, I don't think GW has made a Primaris Devastator marine yet. Honestly despise the whole premise of Primaris Marines and wish they'd have just done scale creep without trying to find some way to explain it. No one would have cared and everyone would have just bought the new models anyway.

But yea, maybe some time down the road they'll get to them and we'll get some joy toy stuff later.

Anyone who purchased the hellblasters know if the toy can have the additional back pack piece and cable removed or not an option?
>>
>>10959823
i did some light tugging, they don't come out easily. but if you pull hard enough they'll likely come out, the tubes are a different material and therefore a separate piece that's just glued in. honstly tho it's not really a hindrance, the cables are extremely soft and flexible and have never gotten in the way of any pose I wanted to do. i don't really see a reason to remove them unless you hate how they look or something.
>>
>>10959850

Yea. I just assumed since he mentioned Dark Angels, he was specifically looking for plasma guns for Dark Angels and the Hellblaster backpack is blue unfortunately.
>>
>>10959885
ah, i see. yeah, in that case just try to yank out the cable and break the glue seal. you can probably even re-insert it later for a friction fit if you want to give it back to the hellblaster (I did this for one of the Terminator thunder hammers that was connected to the arm with a cable).

>>10959823
I don't think they will, as they seem to have gone the way of the elder, and have specialized units, with specific weapons. No mixed heavies,.only a squad of ALMOST heavy weapons (hellblasters' plasma weapons aren't quite the same as heavy plasma cannons, desolation rockets aren't quite as versatile as normal rocket launchers, etc).
Real shame that when they made the hellblasters', they didn't make the three weapon variants, either. at the time, hellblasters' had an "automatic" plasma gun, a standard plasma gun, and a "heavy" plasma gun, with the heavy one using the cables connected to the backpack.
>>
Has anybody who's gotten any normal human figures also gotten any of the WWII figures from joytoy? They'd fit in really well, wouldn't they? After a weapon swap, of course (give em lasguns or bolt guns).

>>
>>10961218
The stormtrooper in question is 4". Now that I'm looking at their exact size, the newer stuff is all 4", rather than the previously established 3.75", so it seems the line crept up at some point.
>>
>>10962162
3.75 inch scale refers to Luke specifically. The original Kenner line was designed around Luke being 3.75 inches tall, and Mark Hamill is a manlet, so most figures will be closer to 4 inches.
>>
>>10962162
>>10962171

>>
File: harry potter scale.jpg (60 KB, 804x603)

>>10962162
When you're wearing a helmet, you should be taller.
Stormtroopers aren't manlets. 6' tall men, not 5'9 females.

Anyway, i'd be surprised they would increase the height of their Star Wars figures, since they're supposed to be compatible with the actual vintage stuff
>>
>>10962171
And this isn't the original Kenner line anymore, so it looks like TVC is a true 1:18 scale now.

>>10962185
Nothing, just a small tangent of autism.

>>10962186
A helmet wouldn't add a whole 1/4", when adjusted for scale, and it does look like the line is 1:18, or 4" tall, now, instead of the previous 3.75"
Pic is more of my newer figures showcasing this, besides Luke, which may be my newest Luke, it is not the newest version of him.

Just an interesting observation (and clarification for some).

>>
>>10962450
how much a helmet adds depends on the helmet, but still, barely 4" at 1:18 scale WITH helmet? 4" = 6', so you're totally a manlet regardless.

Also, it really says a lot about the state of SW because i haven't bought a SW figure in years.
>>
>>10962533
Says the retard too stupid to understand sarcasm.

>>10962581
A helmets thickness varies, but at most, would add no more than 2" to ones height. Regardless that's a negligible amount. It's close enough, really.

you can get them on Amazon easily enough, though there isn't a consolidated "joytoy store" like other brands might have
Joytoy itself does have an official site of "Joytoy.com"
There are various toy selling sites you can buy from, like BigBadToyStore and CoolToysClub (my personal site of choice)
And lastly you can go for the chinese Amazon of Aliexpress, which like Amazon itself doesn't have a unified joytoy store and you'll have to deal with individual sellers, but Ali itself has a pretty good customer support system so you're likely to get your money back if you do get screwed over for whatever reason
as long as you pay attention to reviews or ask questions here, you're not likely to get scammed with these things, and resellers keep their own stocks so what might be sold out on one site might still be up on another

Like other anon said, there's a few good options around. To add some more reliable, and consistently good priced places, see showzstore.com and their sister site, gundamit.com (I use these most of the time).
Ali is the best, though, especially if your going to be buying a bunch all at once, and for the first time, because you can find and stack a BUNCH of coupons codes for some crazy discounts (literally Google Ali express coupons, and try those. If they don't work, spam try them like a dozen times, it might make it work. You really can stack HUGE discounts like 30% or more off).

What I found jarring and slightly confusing about the scene was seeing the dude kinda phasing out (?) unlike the others who were seeing visions, so I was wondering if it he was going through an expecific symptom of the warp.

Amazon is awful in current year, just order from AliExpress. JT bootlegs don't exist currently and AE unironically has better customer service. I have only had four instances where a figure was missing something (I have 114, only a handful were bought on Amazon or from the JT website and the rest from AE), and all but one of those times they either refunded the cost of the entire figure or sent the piece that was missing for free: My Castellan Crowe was missing the potion bottle thing that goes on his hip and they said they didn't have the part available to replace that, but from what I have heard, that part is mismolded and all of them that do exist are fucked up and don't fit in the belt anyways, so I don't think it was the seller's fault. I can't speak for Gundamit since I don't use them, but I know that BBTS has awful pricing and I hate that their name sounds like a sex toy shop so I never purchase from them.

Literally the only thing they don't have McFarlane beat on is size, and for a toy line based on a game where you collect whole armies, that's probably a good thing. Joytoy wins on articulation, paint apps, decals, accessories, and overall accuracy to the tabletop models. And the smaller scale lets them tackle some of the bigger models, like dreadnaughts and Kastelans, while still remaining in scale with the infantry.
>>
>>10959258
>>10961436

1/12 is the braindead retard scale and you are shining proof. First guy so mind brokenly autistic that you can't fathom buying a toy that's not exactly the same size and shape as the rest of your toys. Second guy is just a massive faggot but that's typical of almost all 1/12 fans.
>>
>>10971667
First guy is reasonable, as he stated that he already has a bunch in 1/12, so it makes sense to want to stick to a single scale, and he says he FEELS 1/18 is too small, in other words, he has awareness that it's subjective. Each is a fair and reasonable argument.
Second guy is indeed a huge faggot that will cry about how much he hates joytoy, but then preorder their latest stuff.

>>10971555
Like the others have said, joytoy is superb, especially now that McFarlane quality has gone down, while prices have gone up. You can pay $50 for a decent 1/12 terminator figure (that should have been like $30-$35 tops), or you can pay less to get the same character, but with much better quality, articulation, paint apps, details, and from a MUCH wider selection, such as the guy with rocket launchers, or the guy with a mini gun, or a guy with a sword, or the white armored guys with ceremonial robes, shield, and maces, or a red guy with claws.
I always say, the ONLY reason to go McFarlane is if you like 1/12 scale better, and literally no other reason. Otherwise, choose joytoy, the clear winner.

The weathering (of which there isn't much and it's inconsistent) is just thrown on there to distract you from the fact that it's a $50 "Megafig" that's barely bigger than their normal figures, and has next to no paint. It's an embarrassment when you consider gloriously huge and paint slathered figures they released just a few years ago, like Violator.
>>
>>10972700
Relative to what? The line scales extremely well, you can get into it at nearly any price point. Yes, there are super complex figures for like $60 each, but basic Intercessors have gone for as cheap as $16-17 shipped. That's like $10 less than a Marvel Legends, and it includes shipping.

Learn to use Ali, learn to stack coupons and coins and wait for events, and you will soon be getting some good deals. Even checking in daily nets you like 20-40 coints (cents), with bonuses for repeated daily checkins. They don't let you use all your coins at once, only a small percentage, but it's still free money, and it's nice to get a little knocked off the top. Oh, and compare prices for your item from every major JoyToy store on Ali before purchasing, and then you can pick the cheapest one, or the one that offers the most store perks.
>>
>>10972767
Alternatively, get into the ecosystem at Gundamit/ShowZ. Every thanksgiving they sell memberships for like $5 ($10 normally), which is the cheapest way to get in. With a paid membership, you get 3x the points, and if you buy your stuff from there, they add up quick. You can also get points there for commenting.
>>
>>10972476
Like, every review of the latest wave has said (and shown) that the figures are more shells, and less solid bricks of plastic like they were before, and the torso joint is REALLY flimsy.
Also, they gave them some weathering? They also raised prices by quite the margin (+50%), so not much of an improvement...

>>10972696
I can't see them ignoring basic infantry, no way!

>>10972700
Bruh, you can get intercessors for like $17, that's cheaper than a marvel legends or star wars black series. Even the schizo that tells you not to buy the line, buys the line.
>>
>>10972761
There's a big difference between a scaly monster and a figure with a lot of smooth armor everywhere.
Of course they can slather on the washes on the monster to show off the detail. Cheap and fast.
The Terminator gets washes on its skull emblems and that's about it. The armor doesn't hold washes well and can get pretty ugly fast, ala gundam marker panel lining. This is why they instead used sponging on the feet and legs.

>>10972767
Other 1:18 lines offer bigger figures for the same price Joytoy charges for 4.3" figures. Better quality too and also include working electronics. The Robocop 2 robot in this picture was less than $50 and also features a bunch of extra limbs, moving fingers, etc. Stands up to 7" tall.
Hiya is a Chinese company, same as Joytoy, yet also uses more durable plastics. Their toys don't feel Chinese.

>Like, every review of the latest wave has said (and shown) that the figures are more shells, and less solid bricks of plastic like they were before, and the torso joint is REALLY flimsy.
This is the same retarded logic as people who like diecast because it feels heavy.
Bandai uses super light plastic too on their Space Marines, but the toys are still very durable. They use the same plastics for their giant Dragonball figures and their Robot Spirits line, and i understand their reasoning: too heavy and it'll have problems holding itself up.

Same shit with McFarlane's Terminator.

Anyway, the complaint is pretty shit anyway. There's not even an inch difference in height from their other space marines and the terminator, and the weight difference is 1 ounce between them. 14ounces vs 15 ounces.
Nevermind they share the same construction (read: they're hollow in the same places).
The "hollow" complaint comes from McFarlane using hard plastics on the backpack part and other armored pieces. IT feels like the same plastic as the Joytoy Dreadnought or Bandai's Robot Spirit figures. So it's not the all vinyl-feeling parts as the normal Space Marines.
In other words, it feels less hollow than the Joytoy Dreadnought, which is the same height as McFarlane's Terminator. I notice no one ever bitched about the Joytoy's Dreadnoughts feeling hollow and despite being 1/3rd wider and about 2/5ths thicker, it's only 6 ounces heavier.

>>>10972796
>having an informed opinion and being able to compare a bunch of lines together am bad
Sorry i can't agree with your ignorantass that Joytoy's figures aren't supremely overpriced for what they are. I'll pay up because it's a property I like... as long as they're actually the scale they say on the box and aren't fragile like their Sisters and Cadian figures.

Interesting, will be neat if it gives us more battle-damaged looking troops. I'm presuming the horizontal lines are just because this is a 3d printed proto figure they're using and not to do with paint application.
>>

You moved the goalpost. Ignored that you can get JoyToy figs as cheap as $17 shipped, then tried to make a blanket comparison to Cain as if they all cost $60. If you want to debate on fair terms, quit this dodgy bullshit.

And I own that Cain, the plastic does not feel good to handle. It doesn't feel cheap necessarily, but it's lightweight and very hard, which is not a feel I like in my toys. JoyToy's heavy, thick feeling plastic is both satisfying to handle, and feels like it could handle being dropped off a roof decently well. Hiya's Cain would vaporize if I tried that.
>>
>>10972823
>If you want to debate on fair terms
LOL

If you bought any toyline from China, instead of the company's MSRP, of course you'll get it cheap. Figmas, Figuarts, McFarlanes, you name it, for half off or more. Fair right?

If you wanted actual fair terms (instead of waiting for special sales with coupons, clearance prices, etc) judge it on their MSRP, which Joytoy's stuff is overpriced even if they were 1/12 figures. At 1:18? Supremely overpriced.

>which is not a feel I like in my toys.
So what? You can like them to feel like ravioli for all that that matters.

Point is that it's a durable plastic that's hard to break. QUALITY.
Go watch any video of people abusing Hiya's Alien Queen trying to get pieces onto the figure. Tiny little pieces that are being pushed in with the strength of adult males, because they're too dumb to heat the pieces up to make it easier, yet they don't break.
That Cain has poseable fingers that are smaller than most wrist joints in 1:18, yet nothing breaks.

Joytoy has a long history of shitty plastics though, which I've experienced first hand. They used to include extra joints, to minimize that issue, but not anymore. And these Warhammer threads have made me steer clear of their normal sized figures, because Joytoy still seems to continue using shitty plastics. The larger figures seem immune, probably thanks to just being too thick to break easily, though they also still seem to break too.

He also doesn't even know anything about 40K (hasn't posted a single model, refers to the Sisters of Battle as "the nuns", hurriedly bought a bunch of books off eBay to try and look like less of a casual, etc).

>refers to the Sisters of Battle as "the nuns"
You say this like it isn't common. If you're going to sperg out at subby all the time, you should at least make them reasonable points. Or you could just ignore the nigger.

OK, I should have added some context, he literally called them that because he admitted he didn't know what they were called and didn't care about them. For someone who claims to be a massive 40K fan, that's a red flag.
On a better note, speaking of Sisters, it'd never happen but I wish the classic metal Canoness would get a figure. Love this design. Book a must.

I don't really like my death korps guys and I've been too lazy to sell them, so I have been thinking of who I could give some of the accessories to, like the book. But I don't have any sisters except the chief nundam abbess or whatever she is. Guess it'll just languish in my loft.

>slightest bit of credit for anything
LOL, so basically you act like a contrarian then?

So you also believe that Joytoy's WH40k is overpriced, but don't because SUBS HURT MY FEELS?
Is that why you need to use Chinese alibaba stores to find the lowest prices to say they aren't overpriced and say you can't use the same chinese stores to say Figmas/Figuarts/PlayArts/McFarlanes are much more expensive?
Or that you really don't believe lore isn't lore because it proves the WH40k Joytoy figures aren't to scale?
And can't admit Joytoy finally fixed that scale with the WH30k figures?
Or that other 1:18 toylines that offer same or better quality at much lower prices exist?

Tell me how butthurt you are over me without telling me you're massively butthurt.

looks a little too top heavy, like its just the arms, top of the torso, and head cowl thing physically lowered onto and over normal power armor
I like Tartaros armor, especially the part how it was slated to be the new standard issue if the heresy hadn't happened, but these figures just look a little off to me
>>
>>10973084
its probably for articulation purposes, but the sharp change in thickness between the upper breast plate and the trunk of the armor doesn't look right, and the legs of the armor look too thin/narrow
at least compared to pictures of the mini/art on google

These are up on cooltoysclub, the terminators are $47.70 for the sergeant $45 for the others. Praetor is $62.99

Banana split/cream custard boys arrived today, and they sure are custodes painted white with some reddish weathering/bloodstains/sand or something as well, honestly don't know what it's supposed to be
Curiously only the sword and shield one came with a misercordia, but that's a pain in the ass to stick on the belt so I'm not too broken up over it

>Says it's not 1:18, but then in the next breath, calls it 1:18

>food that raised 50% in less than 3 years isn't overpriced because you're still buying food
retard
Don't like food analogies?
>used cars costing 100% as much as they used to aren't overpriced because you still bought it
You're retarded.
Nevermind nearly everyone in this thread thinks they're overpriced, hence needing to buy them from Chinese vendors that the rest of the board actively avoids because they're so shit.
>b-b-b-but they're chinese origin products!
Nearly everything comes from China, but the rest of the board buys from stores that charge the MSRP, usually from their own country, because they're fairly priced. Joytoy shit is overpriced, especially when you consider other brands charge way less and are of equal or better quality.

Nevermind i purposely avoided all the thinner and smaller Joytoy figures, because Joytoy's plastic is low quality shit. They're more likely to break and these threads prove it

And the Horus Heresy era figures are literally 1:18. Whereas the Primaris Marines literally aren't. That's how shit Joytoy is, where even you guys were bitching about the change in scale.
Of course, I love it, because I got what I wanted.

I'd explain how wrong you are, but that would require the ability to properly perceived reality on your end, so I'll just stick with the classic, but always applicable;
Mental illness.
>>
>>10973979
>faggot who admitted he's a contrarian here >>10972966 says he won't come up with bullshit and contrarian logic to argue why older non-scale Primaris figures are totally 1:18 scale, that shit plastics are actually good, $150 7" figures is not overpriced, and how buying from chinese stores can only be applied for one specific brand
Good.
>>
>>10974009
>$150 7" figures
I didn't have to say anything, because I knew your schizophrenia would confess much worse than anything my sane mind could muster. Well danced, monkey, now go take some meds for your mental illness.
