I’ve considered many times making either my house, work, or high school into a lego set but always stop myself because I’d never be able to stop finding little things to change to make it more accurate to the point it’d never be done. Anyone else ever build something like this?

I tried once building my house, but then I realized that LEGO just isn’t good for that sort of thing. To make the interior as detailed as you want, the house ends up being huge on the outside and just seems inaccurate.

I would never build one of my high school or job, but a house MOC would be cool

That’s pretty cool anon, but the store doesn’t have back wall?

Too hard and not fictional, imo. Closest thing ive done is buy the aisle graphics and display from a closing TRU and decorate my room with them. I also want to build a small toy store for my figures, so I'd collected World's Smallest and Surprise 5, but that's as far as I've gone.
>>
>>10962127
I've wanted to but fucking cost keep me since not only would I have to invest in about $200-300 in themeless lego brick cases sets (assuming I could find enough boxes) but also in got knows how much in unique parts bought second handed via Ebay and Bricklink.
>>
>>10962840
You ever use Stud,io so you can build one digitally first, then buy it through there?
>>
>>10962571
That’s clearly on a hinge on the bottom right. I assume it opens up to reveal the interior.
>>
I can’t really get into present day lego mocs personally but I appreciate them for what they are. I just find it hard to come up with storylines for your “average Joe” and making something like my house or something I run into the same problem as this guy >>10962203
It get so big to include details it feels wrong and out of scale.
I prefer castle and pirates but am making a nice table setup that won’t exclude whatever the kid wants to include. I really like doing these tiny guys lately.

What’re you guys working on these days?

Did you not watch the video I linked? It showed the whole design from all sides and close up

As >>10963018 says, it's on a hinge and that was the model opened up. It closes too

The back wall. I have vines on the squares that have plugs on the wall from having stuff attached on the inside

You can’t dodge that!
>>
>>10962127
Done plenty of IRL figs of people I know, but never a MOC house or such. All too big for my collection to undertake.

Also, funny how this school model was the one actually cool thing Chris did. Though I guess its easy to be creative when you dont give a fuck about price.

nah looks like something a 5 year old would do
plus werent most of the pieces and how they were put together just from a LEGO friends set? Like always he can’t just come up with something on his own.

I’m pretty sure in the video he references friends many times. He makes sure to say hi to his “friends” and coach. It’s been a long while since I’ve seen this and many many keks sirs!

Nothing new on that front I am afraid. I was thinking of sitting down and building the second half of those brown parts I got and make more boardwalk, but nothing yet. I'm leaning towards building this second Dollar Tree car set I bought to see all the parts within it. I'll have a half hour or so later to chill, so I think I'll do that. I've been doing more reading and less bricks. Only so much time, you know? I put up some videos on Conan comics if you were interested in that.

Appreciate the kind words about the builds and my vibe though. Hopefully more Pirates will be in my future, as that's the theme I'm mostly a fan of.
>>
>>10967852
Oh dude I watched those already I like your style and you’re a rarity in my experience on a lot of fronts. Truly you are a renaissance man and I’m glad you're doing well. I really do enjoy your comics and the new Conan stuff has been great I like how you go through things and flip the pages and go back. I can tell you enjoy what you’re reading and I’ve been wanting to get back into comics now. Free comic day is around the corner I’ll try to pick up a Conan or Godzilla in your honor. You legitimately knowledgeable and unpretentious and I hope you keep doing you man. I have to wait a while to see if the kid notices it’s missing but I have this and it’s yours for the moc if I can get away with stealing it and get it to you. God speed goodfren!

Anon fren another board inadvertently doxxed themselves once. I didn’t want to call attention to it but to let them know I built a lego MOC of their apartment building and posted it. Hopefully they got the hint.
>>
>>10962203
You kind of have to choose what you want to be most accurate. The outside or inside. I usually go for outside.
>>
>>10970513
I usually go for inside myself!
