Interested in anything past, present or future!
This one is from a woman’s magazine. Apparently moms in the 80’s could build this from scratch for their kids…

Great thread. I love looking at retro future things from days of long ago. Like kitsch SciFi and 80s SciFi. Thanks to the anon with the matchbox piccies
A friend of mine was gifted a sealed collection of these. (all the figures and sets.) A am terribly jealous as I had the Major (2) and some of the other stuff when younger. I still have one of them but he's not in great shape.
The "nostalga " version they launched a few years ago is crap. Possibly with new things happening in space exploration.. if we can get into competition there as opposed to killing each other maybe we could see a relaunch. - in more a style of Planet Green Valley etc. (but not as fucking expensive)
The Space Forece figures were/are great and I Kickstarted that. But honestly things got to be shit after that. I had an issue with one of my helmets (loss) and was perfectly willing to pay for a replacement. They instead suggested I use the helmet off another figure which I could buy. What?
Mine is in storage, but I got one of these decades ago. Came with an Apollo astronaut figure, but I always stuck a gemini astronaut that I got at the same time in the other seat.
I also got one of these after seeing it in a retro toy thread here. Pretty neat, but the rubber ammo belt for the gun is dried and brittle.
>>11023644Best Buzz Lightyear toy. Bad movie and missing toy features be damned
>>11024849That looks really great. And this is from 67?
>>11024856You mean pic? Thats more anaction figure than an action doll.
>>11024890They reall went into realism. Did they work with NASA or scientists?
>>11025226And when i look at the packaging design it feels like as if you can buy the Space Men line from Colorforms for more aliens.
>>11024849And they remind me of the MenTech toys.
>>11024196>>11024200>>11024204My brother got this set one Christmas and I thought it was one of the coolest things ever.
>>11024179kek, they both sourced their vehicles from the same supplier? Some fucker is getting rich!
Had a smaller set of these as a kid that only had the shuttle, a couple rockets and some astronauts, got this one much later.
>>11025522
>>11025400You had a lucky brother. Mattel had some cool series.

>>11026045Oh, ok. But from when is this comic? Matchbox released them in the 70s? When did Judge Dredd show them the first time? It could be that the artist just drew this tank toy?

>>11026045heh, never knew
>>11026097>>11026106It seems Matchbox did the toy first. And 2000AD just got inspired by Matchbox or it was some cross promo.https://mikepigottsdiecasttoysandmodels.wordpress.com/2022/02/08/adventure-2000-by-matchbox/

>>11027896I wonder if the Multimac modular series fits with Manta Force. They seem to have the same pilots. Or it was just molds reused?

I'm a kid of the 60's so besides Major Matt Mason and Zeroids I had Billy Blastoff. His backpack drove all his vehicles and accessories. It was a great toy.
>>11028565Here's one of his play sets. He also had an ocean set with an actual boat you could put in the water and let it go. I let mine go at a lake and never saw it again
Zeroids were good fun. They were packaged in plastic boxes that became vehicles and bases for the toys. They were part of the Motorific line of toys by Ideal that all shared the same tiny motor.
>>11028570
>>11028571
>>11028572Despite their weird name Ding-A-Lings were fun toys as well. The Space Skyway sets they had were awesome. The motorized robots would cling to the monorail like track and even go upside down. King Ding had a little robot named Brain that would walk up behind him, power a little elevator to the head/cockpit and then power the big robots walking feature as well.
>>11028577They had a wide variety of characters as well each with different features. The Fireman actually shot water out of his hose.
Snap Ships are a fairly new line. They are a building set, but very detailed and you can get crazy with multiple sets. Amazon has them on sale all the time.
>>11028585Here's an example of the things you can build with multiple sets. They're not expensive so you won't break the bank getting a bunch.
>>11028587They have an alien faction as well to fight against.
>>11028590
>>11025231>the man from uranus
>>11024196102 Dalmatians Happy Meal, getting this set at Toys-R-Us, then How the Grinch Stole Christmas in the theater.Uh, yeah. I'm thinking it's December, 2000.
>>11027896>>11027898Multimac had 2 sizes of pilots. The small silver ones where Zoids knockoffs, the lager, articulated figures where identical in size to the Manta Force pilots, but in a different, more detailed sculpt.
>>11028585>>11028587>>11028590>>11028593How much are they a pop usually? I've wanted to get into them but is amazon really the best place to buy them??
>>11028587>>11028590well shit, it's almost like diaclone! neat!
>>11028585The UK had some similar line in the 80s(i think?)
>>11029260On the pics i would say they are the same. But good to know they had differences!
>>11024196>>11024200>>11024426I'm such a sucker for modular stuff like this
>>11029473It pretty much is "diaclone if it wasn't wallet trauma".
>>11029667True you even get little pilots and alien foes.
>>1102946510-20 USD now. They used to be 20-30. Amazon is the only place to get them as far as I know.
>>11028580>>11028577Thats cool. >>11028572Those remind me of Roboforce.
>>11030032
>>11026516don't know how I missed these, super fun looking line
>>11026523Holy shit those are some serious playsets!
>>11030032some dude bought the rights to robo force and zeroids and made glyos compatible versions which you could mash together, unfortunately he recently sold the roboforce rights though
>>11030032>>11030033These guys are adorable. What ever became of Ideal?
Who remembers these? They're pretty good action figures in their own right. I had the Neptune guy and I think the black hole guy. The funny thing is, these toys probably kickstarted my love of domed characters like Mr. Freeze and Mysterio.
>>11030691I thought that this was Glyos? >>11030693No idea.
>>11030695No idea. But they look like a cuter version of Fisher Price Adventure People.

>>11030886Weird! You can see their design style. I was just talking out of the blue.
>>11030887They look better than the Nacelle ones.
>>11030877Man, I had a fucking speed boat when this beauty is existed
>>11027898>>11027901>>11027905thank you so much guys for this. After like 20 years of searching for this toy without knowing a name or anythingI just found it here. Holy fucking shit I am so happy and that means the memories from my childhood are not fake and this toy really did exist. Guess fucking what there is a rare purple-pinkish one on ebay for nearly $170 and that is the one thing I had. man I really miss this and I don't even know why.
>>11031850Right there with you, opened this tread hoping to see these little yellow bastards. I'm certain if I went digging though my old Lego tub I'd find a surviving pilot.

>>11029569first issue is from 60's(yellows), they had a reboot(?) in 80'(whites)
>>11032950Oh, they re-used them.
>>11028565 Are you fucknig me. I posted the earlier Major pics. I had the Billy with the crawler and the sled. I also had the bronze Zeroid. My parents also got us (unrelated to space) Sip along Sam and Sip along Sue and the Flintstones breakfast set. I think there was also a Yogi bear mug. I would play with anything space.I owned these. My friend Erica also owned them. (and other small doll sets of the same type) and I would go over to her house and we would have minature tea parties and she would sneak kissed from me. Her brother also had that toy palisade fort and cowboys and Indians.
>>11030877 The Adventure people were amazing for their time. They make me feel nostalgic as hell. They also made a nice civilian alternative
I used to have this magnificent bastard. My parents bought it for me in a store in Huntsville Ont. All of the Corgi toys were in a big glass case on display and some of them - like the stuff from Capetian Scarlet was designed to kill children. This guy.. the bumper was set to cause the ejection door to pop off and the Capt to swing back and forth. the top "fin" would open a trap door in the front and fire a spring launched hard plastic missile. it was the fucking best. The "Angels" aircraft had huge avionics spikes on the front. We will never have toys like these again.
>>11033840I still have a few Corgis Toys. They are fun.
>>11033999You mean Dinky Toys? I remember that my brother had the green and blue Eagle ship. He bought them from a flea market.
>>11034047
>>11034054
>>11033827I had them second hand and only the Spaceshuttle. But they were a good action figure/doll.
>>11028620Yes?

>>11033999Besides franchise toys, this is some “sci-fi“ toys Corgi did.

I had a "space train" that had metal track you assembled in a loop. the vehicle had strong magnets. (might have been battery powered) and would "loop" and be held on the track.
>>11026045>>11026089>>11026106 During the Cursed Earth story, the Matchbox toy was offered as a competition prize in the comic
>>11046412You dont mean the Marvel Doom Roller?
>>11046621Clearly a promotion crossover.
>>11048419 No, the one I had had solid metal track (well think sheets ) printed with (and this is just memory bits) a sort of track pattern.
