Post the funniest knockoff/bootleg toys. Can be either if the name is funny like picrel, or the figure looks awful.
>>
>>11103117
Schoops are only funny in the proper context son. At least post a real, mass produced knock-off like the Sense of Right Alliance pack.

Fake bootleg are so tryhard. This doesn't look like Engrish, it intentionally looks like somebody trying to be quirky/funny.

Honestly if it was just the front it’s be kinda funny. Something about the incredible fella is just funny. But the back is just so unfunny and random.

Kek at the venom one
What’s the deal with these though? Is this their version of funko pops?
>>
>>11103365
They predate the funko stuff by nearly 15 years. The Simpsons is just such a cultural touchstone for Mexicans that a few pop culture mash up paintings depicting homer and bart as various pop cultural figures was enough to prompt the creation of hundreds of these guys. I wish more mexican collectors would try to catalog these somehow. there is literally no way to know how many of them there are. once you think you've seen em all another dozen will show up you've never laid eyes on before.

the South Koreans really set a high bar with their bootlegs.

I think as far as size and form, it's a bit more of the same concept as imagineNext and the Spidey and his amazing friends, whatever that line is called.

>>11103378
Yeah the one bootleg I bought at least scored me some accessories even as it fell apart. I mean, it looked legit but fell apart just taking it out of the 'figurearts' box.

At least I got my credit card company to issue a refund!

Most of the characters advertised on the box aren’t even in there…
>>
>>11103395
im surprised that they still make shoddy figuarts bootlegs. seems like all the bootleggers stepped up their game in the last few years.
>>
>>11103395
Wyhen you say "fell apart", do you mean it was so loose that nothing held together or it broke (or was broken) straight out of the box?

That was my one attempt. There's a few folks who do 'reviews' of knock-offs.

I want an extra FNSM face of tobey so I'm debating getting that one when I have an extra $30 bucks to waste, right now I have too many auctions I am interested in on EB and a few older loose toys I am eyeing to complete some sets, plus some newer stuff (a Mezco is finally discounted for example), and the only place I have extra credit/free gift cards is Bezolandia so that doesn't really help me with knock-offs. At least on EB, I can get help from them or my CC bank.

The arm broke of the wrist peg (see PICREL). As you can see from the previous picture, the torso also came apart and I just wasn't patient enough to test it after an hours attempt to snap it back together. I'm sure with some blue tack, I can get it to work and if they paid for the postage, I would have been happy to do a return but the seller just ate the item (or billed their insurance - I once got a broken set of collectible DC coffee mugs and two of the four came broken and they just credited me for everything but told me not to make an insurance claim because they would be making an insurance claim.

I understand some buyers scam the sellers two ways, making an insurance claim and claiming a toy arrives broken. But I had clear pictures of the broken coffee mugs.

I also once bought a new, in card (not that I cared about that) Marvel Legends and they did ask for the toy back and thankfully as far as I can see, also refunded the shipping because another time I had to ship something back to get my refund for the price of the figure.

There’s a really fun line of Godzilla/Ultraman bootlegs called Super Dino Monsters. They were released under multiple names but the best packaging for them featured dinosaurs with tufts of hair for some reason.

It's pretty funny third party bootleg transformers have a big community on here and deny them as bootlegs

there's actually a few different releases of the sense of right alliance. Some with the human torch, thing, king kong, the green ranger, others the yellow ranger, black suit spidey, king kong. It must have been in rotation long enough to merit all the bizarre additions over the hears.

Probably because they’re not traditional KO toys, they’re (not always but usually) high quality original designs based on comics and various IPs and original designs, not really bad/silly cheap and fragile bootlegs like you get in cheap stores.

this is 39 dollars shipped , such a funny Bootleg KO! For some reason these have better quality than Hasbro but are cheaper more durable and have better paint than anything Hasbro puts out.

>I wish more mexican collectors would try to catalog these somehow

It would be impossible. In Mexico there's dozens to hundreds of companies doing bootleg toys, and these homer parodies (you can google 'figuras homero parodias') started showing up in the mid-late 90's, along with some bart ones. They're still being produced as new characters join the cultural zeitgeist, so there must be thousands.

Would the Yugo MOTU stuff count as bootleg because a lot of them were cool (color choices, slight resculpt) even though they seemed to have the consistency of soap.

I would say they count! I was tempted to share some sooner but I didnt want to flood the thread with just MOTU K.O.'s. That and some of these guys almost merit discussion in the main thread. That tung lashor especially, great colors on that guy. Picked out one of the wilder K.O.'s Ive seen recently. Get a load of easter triklops here.

I can't get the timestamp to work but at 15:20 there's a slight resculpt of Stinkor's armor as Horde :

>>
>>11111470
Ive seen that variation of his armor on a few different yugo bootlegs. I wonder what prompted its creation. Maybe they intended to use it as a substitute for hordak's armor? Hard to say.
