I genuinely do not understand the colour choices behind the recent BeastDrive kits.
They'll pick three harmonious colours that work well and then throw in the most garish opposite-the-colourwheel contrast color.
Would it kill them to use a less discordant contrast???

Bright colors aren’t the problem. The problem is that whoever makes these decisions at 52toys/No.57 doesn’t seem to have a basic understanding of color theory, and just green lights the most uninspired combinations imaginable.
>>
>>11146935
Yeah they are finished parts all connected by 4mm pegs. The base body in pic can be broken down even further. I wouldn't say they are like plamo, more like Revoltech or those partsforming Transformers weaponizers.

There used to be custom builds bashed together with other diaclone, hexagear and other toylines but that you don't see that often now.
>>
>>11146935
Sort of. They come apart into less pieces than you'd expect (or at least, I'm not willing to pull harder on some pieces because it feels like it will break even if the plastic is clearly color separated). So I mostly felt like it was a "swapping around lightly" toyline rather than an intensive building one.
>>
>>11146960
Because of this, this line is really only viable to me if you're willing to paint. Most of their color schemes are just so flat and fucking dull. Big shame, cause the few I own are excellent quality. The colors are literally the main thing keeping me away, they need to hire someone new to handle that.

But this doesn't excite me as much as a redo of Diabattles V2 should, the aesthetic has shifted too much and it looks a lot 'busier' to me in a way I don't like. even the other modes shown here >>11138259 look markedly different and messier to me than the original's clean look.

I recently learned that 30MM has a fantasy line, and I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a spear guy, or a weapon pack that had a spear. I'd love to try and create a final fantasy style dragoon.

Multiple mainline 30MM packs already had spears though, so you could also pick those up and give to one of Knights that are already out.

Sounds like the prologue is
>AI advances until it goes rogue
>A human faction tries to counter them by creating bioweapons but accidentally creates what's equivalent to the Flood ("tai sui")
>Meanwhile a survivalist faction takes refuge deep underground in the Arctic.
>AI creates robots made out of magic metal to fight the biomonsters and manages to seal them in the Antarctic.
>AI ascends to another plane of existence leaving behind their robots (in the form of cubes?)

>A lot of time passes.
>The survivalist humans and sealed biomonsters both emerge from the respective Poles and fight over domination of the Earth.
>Humans quickly find themselves needing to make use of the Cubes.
>The Cubes or rather Boxes can scan and make use of other lifeforms' DNA to transform, hence you get Beast Boxes.

They will be launching a collectible card line. You can buy them in packs of 5 but they will also be included in new stuff. more fluff whatever.

More renaming is going to happen. All related lines will be consolidated under the "Beast Box" brand. The lines will be differentiated by suffixes i.e. previous original IP Mega Box will be renamed "Beast Box Mega", collabs with external artists and IPs will be under "Beast Box Infinity" (names are my own translations, probably won't be accurate since Mega Box and Infinity Box share the same Chinese name)

This mechanical greeble cube was long ready, but they felt that it still needed some kind of "small tool" (probably for disassembling it?) hence the delay. They plan to collab with external artists to create variations in their styles.

They've also hooked up with more external artists for box and card art. The Koala's by a new guy.

Jojo 2.0's colored proto is ready but they weren't able to bring it. It's coming Q1 2025.

I think diaclone in general has been going that direction. I recently got a DA-42 Trijetter(oldest set in my collection) and it's a hell of a lot simpler than the Horus versaulter. It's a bit bigger, but it has probably half as many moving parts

I have my Diabattles original and Battle Buffalo, I think I can be happy with that. After a lot of initial excitement, I don't think I really dig where Diaclone has been going. Lots of little powered suits with not particularly good designs, and overly complicated new stuff where the aesthetic seems to be shifting a bit.

There's some lore about how the new mech modes are based on ancient giant lifeforms, and something having a "barrel-ass"

I wouldn't call the new battles complicated but more so overcompensated. When you remove all the excess of boosters it has a far cleaner look. Same goes for the separate units when you just attach a bullet core to them >>11141249. I haven't reached the point where I'm tired of tactical movers or dilactone in general I just hope they introduce a series of base items alongside new trivers.
>>
>>11159699
Damn, it looks so much better with the Base Fighter bullet core that I'm actually disappointed they didn't use one as the default

I’m so happy to finally have new Diaclone to look forward to, even if it’s a re-do. It’s been years since I felt any investment in the line. Everything has either been too big, or milking the same tired idea, or just random “display filler” vehicles. X-1 is like a rabbit hole of playability and modularity.

This doesn't appeal to me, looks like an upgraded Helmwige Reincar. But then again, everyone seemed to love that MS and I thought it was dead ugly, so maybe I'm the outlier.

The color scheme is a bit surprising, but it still looks great.

Send help.
They keep releasing such cool kits and I can't help but buy them. I've got three just sitting there waiting to be built, with more on the way.

Bought a Diamond Cyclone Cosmo Dia Battles. Hopefully it's as good as advertised.

Can I get a quick review? I'm torn between buying this or Earnestcore Kinkou.

Does the human figure feel durable? How much of a pain in the ass is it to switch between bike and robot mode?
>>
>>11163124
I’ll give it to ya.

The stand alone figure scales with literally nothing. I understand this thing has been in prototype phase for a really long time but I don’t know why they couldn’t play with scale slightly so that it was a bit more 1/24th.

Regardless, she seems pretty durable but some joints are very small and will likely need tightening. The articulation is decent- 90 cut on elbows, double jointed knees, limited ankles, but that’s for standing stability. Obviously the bike body is pretty static but it gets her in the perfect position to grab the handlebars. The hands are a bit of a mess, flexible plastic that barely holds weapons, but one pair are closed enough to stay around the handlebars and plug into the sleeves.

The robot is kinda whack. My copy is floppy in the shoulders, which is a result of being where the bike ports are. Some joints are really tight and others are just oddly placed. There’s lots of moving parts in the legs but not everything is helpful. Transformation is extensive enough to be a bit of a process but doesn’t leave you with tons of bits and pieces laying around… the set has enough of those when put together, as is. There’s a bunch of different grips and the optional wheel feet that are just… desperately in need of storage.

But all in all, the plastic quality is what I expect from ECC and the accessories are super cool. I just don’t think the pilot is good enough a figure on her own to be displayed separately and the bike mech is too goofy looking without her.

Hmm, ok, thank you for filling me in. I'm honestly not thrilled by this color scheme so maybe I'll wait and see if they release a repaint, they seem to like doing that.

Does anyone know if the 30MM Armored Core kits are going to get a second printing?

5cm still seems slightly larger than their usual pilots.. i wonder if zoids undersize those just like they did in the 1/72 line
>>
Any word on new Diaclone KOs?
>>
>>11143542
my thought exactly. very odd choice.
>>11138253
this is a very clever and sensible way to have a head get bigger for a super mode while still being the same head. now why that would be necessary, god only knows
>>
>>11161117
taste is a funny thing. I think these are both fantastic.
>>
>>11165386
Yeah, I also thought it was a pretty clever bit of design, the way they built the hinge for the face plate into the bridge of the nose

>>11164173
The "garbage truck" should be coming out in the next couple months, but I don't think there have been any updates on anything. Personaly, I'm also kinda curious what MFT has been up to. I'm really hoping they do bughead/raptorhead, but I'd bet it'd be a lot easier for them to start doing D vehicle KOs
>>
>>11165563
That is indeed clever, I like that. Equally as clever is how his original eyebrow ridge becomes the new eyes. Pretty cool overall.
