What ever happened to this cheap, but fun, toy line? There has been nothing on their IG page for over a year, and the only restocks at DT have just been the same old stuff. They did the Gold and Venom variants, then poof. I thought these were really solid figures, especially at a $1.25 price point, especially the vehicles and all of the accessories. Did anyone else like these?
>>11142153I wouldn't be surprised if covid killed it. Liked it, wish we got more vehicles
>>11142153I have a bunch that i have not opened yet. The comic book was actually fun too.
I have two underbed shoeboxes CRAMMED with duplicates of the entire line (Cyborg Armor was a rare pack to get though!). Tons of boxes vehicls in closet... ...All I see now at Dollar Tree is some new, far cheaper, generic soldier figures. MAYBE Final Faction will continue? It should... at one point, it was literally the only reason i'd bother to go in there.
>>11142153Yeah, there are a few anons here i know enjoyed the line. There were even a few final faction focused generals ever now and then. I loved the line, even if i didnt care for a few figures. The drones and bugs were underrated and have pretty powerful spring loaded missle gimmicks. Grab one and see how far it goes man! And the box of toys you can end up with for $20 was great and the figures looked good, its wasnt some chinese bootleg crap. Ff had so much potential and im sad no one will try to fill the void its left, good toys that any kid could afford with a comic and a cartoon. Try them out, fun stuff.
>>11142506Those were me. The line is basically dead.>comic book was not continued for an issue 2 because it didnt sell enough units>$1 base playset was teased and never saw production>a bunch of figures were planned but Dollar Tree passed on because they didn't think the concepts were strong enough. These include: shark alien, twin big brain yakub aliens, alien queen>big gunship vehicle was teased but never got anywhere>rumors of a medieval subline came and never materializedI know all of this from talking to the guys who worked on the line and following them on instagram. The new figures at Dollar Tree that look like Rescue Heroes knockoffs should be all you need to see to know that it's over.
>>11142576>>a bunch of figures were planned but Dollar Tree passed on because they didn't think the concepts were strong enough. These include: shark alien, twin big brain yakub aliens, alien queenIf true this is so fucking sad.
>>11142582I will post some pics since I like to archive this stuff, you should too in case I suddenly die and my wife throws out all my cool shit
>>11142591you can see the alien twin characters in some of the promotional images before they got canned, but I don't have any proper image of the prototypes
>>11142591forgot to mention these sharks would've obviously been the reason that the scuba guy was on the team. Weren't the green bits included with him supposed to be GITD? Gets harder to remember.
>>11142598
>>11142600I'm at least happy with what we did get. I don't really trust the quality of the plastic or paint for any of my kids to have these, but they're the golden fuck you to Super7's 20 dollar 5poa 3.75 hogshit. Cherished lines always gotta die too soon.
never saw this in stores
>>11142594nevermind
>>11142608>>11142594>>11142591we were really robbed. the toy line was just starting to hit its stride before all the behind the scenes autism kicked off. shame. I hope the new brier line (rescue squad?) takes off atleast.
>>11144582Are these it?
>>11144610Thats it. I like the cop and firefighter but I don't see a lot of potential here.
>>11144610>>11144969Yeah those are too toddler-esque. Might be okay for some customs but ehhhh
>>11144610>they think this will be better than what they hadMegacorpos deserve to be gassed.
>>11144610the very same. i think this first wave is very plain but there's potential for growth here. I hope they introduce some villains and a vehicle sooner or later. for now it seems the line is just these four.>>11144969i wish the cop and diver had some kind of indication of being cyborgs too. it would have given the range a fun uniting theme. as is they're just kind of standard wannabe rescue heroes.>>11145179>>11145199they're definitely lacking a certain imagination. I mentioned as much in the last final faction thread but if these guys get villains of their own my hope is for either generic monsters (zombies, vampires, frankensteins, etc) or outright cartoon super villains, maybe each with a contrasting elemental theme against their foe? pyrokinetic villain vs fire fighter, electric villain vs medic, fishman water villain vs the diver lady, etc
>>11145199Right? As far as I could tell Final Faction was a pretty big damn hit. There were even people in other countries that don’t have Dollar Trees wanting these figures and seeking them out. Maybe the profit margins for 1.25 was too low for a dollar store to really care about. But it makes me wonder what they could have done with a $5 figure in their Dollar Tree Pluses or Supers or whatever they are.
>>11146000>Maybe the profit margins for 1.25 was too low for a dollar store to really care about.I have wondered the same. Between the figures, accessories, vehicles, the comics, and the little youtube episodes, I wonder if they were just spending more than DT was willing to invest.
>>11144610Why am I getting Team Fortress vibes from these?
>>11142576>>11142591>fantasy final faction and dollar store pacific rim kaiju that never werethis is such an enormous fucking bummer...
>>11144610>The swimmer is a black person
>>11146981That's what makes him adventurous.
>>11144610This is the Hero Factory to Final Faction's Bionicle. Which means I like it better
>>11146997great way of putting it! all the more reason for them to go out with the villains now. everybody knows the baddies were the best part of HF
>>11142591Is she a nice lady? I could be there while she grieves for support of course. Its great that youve kept this stuff though, i didnt see much point since ff was on a rocket ride to the moon so i never thought itd die. >>11144610Eh, just not for me. Maybe we get a vehicle out of it or something.
we really need a fun cheap toy general now that final faction is pretty much confirmed dead. I saw this guy in walmart the other day for just 10 bucks. He's a tempting buy, has about 10 POA and is brimming with electronics.
>>11148518Unofficial dinosaucers, based
>>11148518 Yeah but its a pretty big guy, bigger than anything i own. I 100% and quite passionately agree with you on the good cheap toy vacuum. I cry out at night for lanard toys to return, i weep for the corps! Or even just what else these action force guys can make.
>>11148617my thought exactly>>11148649Oh man anon I know exactly where you're coming from. Im already tight on space as is, but the sheer prescence of this guy really is something to behold. He's got that buzz lightyear factor about him, even in while in the store I couldnt help but admire all the little details they included on him. I wish I liked his robot buddy as much as I do him!>I 100% and quite passionately agree with you on the good cheap toy vacuum. I cry out at night for lanard toys to return, i weep for the corps! Im happy to hear as much! Trust me Im just as upset over Lanard's performance these days. I was really hoping the Alien and Predator toylines would put them on the map, but as far as I can tell it was the wrong place at the wrong time. I was hoping the release of Alien Romulus would have urged some kind of rerelease out of them, but no such luck unfortunately. With how well Final Faction seemingly did I cant help but wonder what indie companies could pull off. I was seriously hoping for a cheap but quality action figure arms race to kick off once FF showed up.Aside from Rexobot the only other recent cheap fun toyline that comes to my mind is CultureFly's Tiny Mights (especially the dollar capsules you can nab at 5 below)
>>11142608Someone needs to make these for 3d printers
>>11148518That looks cool as fuck, especially for $10. >>11148848It sucks cause I quite liked their aliens and Predator line of toys.
>>11149590Right? Im almost surprised they didnt just settle on repainting the same body with different dinosaur heads! It's a real treat regardless.I was a big fan of their Aliens and Predators too. I wish I had bought more of their Rampage figures when I had the chance aswell.
I designed some foes for the Adventure Squad characters with easy reuse in mind. If anyone is interested I could post the original images independently.
bump
>>11149775These are neat anon, thanks for posting them.
>>11146981>the cop is black and has no gun
>>11151566thanks anon Im always glad to share /toy/ ideas
>>11149775>That styleLooks familiar. Do you visit MotU threads?
>>11148518
>>11157356
>>11142153Obviously they stopped selling and they didn't make more because unlike your weird fantasy world in reality these are cheap garbage made to be cheap garbage and turn an easy profit. There was no passion or care put into it, there's no one that believes in this line, they're worthless products that you have a weird sentimental attachment to.
>>11157345Nta but i think so, i didnt want to ask myself but the fisher price king hiss piece caught my eye and these are similar looking. I really wish there were more to say and post in these threads, i always like the anons here and i like affordable fun stuff.
>>11157345yeah, same drawfag!>>11157362lanard stuff being sold under the adventure force banner in mexico will always be wild
>>11157405>. There was no passion or care put into it, there's no one that believes in this line,Look I'm not gonna say these are great toys compared to even the lower-midrange stuff collected here, but it's evident there was some care put into this line. This whole exercise was fascinating to a lot of us because we got to see more behind the scenes of the process of this toyline(and the ambitious plans behind it) than any other similar, budget toylines. They tried to do a nostalgic, 5PoA, original IP line that was affordable to kids, which was interesting to see. I think a lot of the designs weren't the best and some were outright doomed to pegwarm, but I think it was a good start to other possible toylines.
>>11157858dont bother replying to that anon. he's clearly just here to piss in everyone's cheerios. final faction had heart, there was alot of thought put into every facet of the series. just looking over the prototypes confirms the best was yet to come.
I think it still has potential, and I would not mind if they had to slow down the releases to keep costs down. I do hope they try it again, even if they have to start over with a fresh franchise again.
>>11157574>Adventure Force bannerIsnt this just brand naming? Or is it license thing?
>>11158532
>>11157574>>11157477So i am right. I really like that anons style. Amd his ideas. I might be a fanboy, but a thread woth his drawings make the thread a little bit more fun!
>>11158536The corps are the cheap GI Joes?
>>11158538
>>11158539
>>11158532Adventure Force is the umbrella name for walmart store brand generic toys. In Mexico, Lanard releases their products under that banner since they have alot of factories there. American Lanard stock is always branded "The Corps" one way or another unless its a licensed product.
>>11158538pretty much yeah>>11158536>>11157477glad you guys like my stuff
>>11158743Thanks for the info. So they license stuff they think fits and than send the factories their packaging with Adventure Force label.>>11158747You are a gift to /toy/
>>11142576what do we think the fantasy faction figs would have looked like? do we have any more word about them? sketches?I can't help but imagine something like this. damn shame, would have been the best army building line ever made and sold...
>>11144610These are giving me PTSD flashbacks of like a decade of Rescue Heroes figures clogging up garage sales and Goodwills.
>>11158540holy moly
>>11159689Yes
>>11157405You are devoid of hope or joy if you think nobody on the design side put passion or care into this project.
>>11159052>So they license stuff they think fits and than send the factories their packaging with Adventure Force label.exactly! some stuff is also exclusive to mexico. you know those shampoo bottle figures everyone hates? in mexico lanard made a range of generic offbrand ones for adventure force. they're all aliens with weird dinosaur heads. it was cool.
>>11159052thanks anon>>11159735lately ive been wondering if lanard has any of their o-ring molds left over from the 90s. i bet they could make alot of bank if they did.
>>11159590Those were great days for me, i think my kid was like 2-3 and rescue heros aired on qubo so it was just perfect for us.
>>11160818There are no 3 3/4 figures out under $10 that i can think of besides the star wars line of 5 poa so theres a market. Look at the current tmnt stuff, all $10 and up so its a good price point that moves units. Im no buisnessman just going off what i see 5 days a week.
