Post toys that clog peg space and have the store BEGGING you to take one.
The targets around here are getting some weird figures that have shelf warmed so hard they got clearanced out then reappear at full price to shelf warm again. So far I've seen it with a couple Marvel Legends like movie Gorr and fire claws Wolverine.Meanwhile my local Wal-Marts are drowning in Duke and the Super Monkey Ball figure.
>>11175444Why don’t people want this retro Duke?
>>11173112
>>11175444>Super Monkey Ball figureI just realised they have all been sitting at my local Wally since release. Nobody wants that shit
>>11173112kicking myself he sold out while the rest of the wave is still warming herecould use his bow as a yellow lantern construct
>>11175444>blocks your shelves from restock for 3 years and kills the line
>>11175690Wtf with Jan's face
>>11175812The sculptor they had at the time loved broadface. Most ML women had it.
>>11173112I'll make it easy: Star Wars
>>11173112Aew figures, specifically nyla rose. Sorry no pic
>>11175790I would get one of those but they seem too expensive for what they are.
>>11176059These things aren't popular in America.

>>11176081They got rid of them pretty fast once they did a buy anything get two free sale.Wfm really did atrociously for anything that wasn't a gundam.
>>11176059Waited too long to make a sequel. Both flopped to 1500 yen and under.
>>11176059Nobody wanted him. 800 yen.
holy fuck, BUY THEM ALREADY...
>>11175806but i thought the white kids were buying all the black panther toys and not giving the poor black kids a chance to steal them.
A Hobby Link Japan exclusive repaint of a pretty unpopular robot that was such a hard sell that they flat out had to not only throw them out for chump change (IIRC like 4000 Yen for over one pound of gokin) but also hold a photo competition to make people finally buy the damn thing.
>>11176358>>11176081I thought it was only Michaelis that had this problem. People said it was because the pilot was enough of a heel for anything about him to be despised
>>11176059Pretty sure she's still available on BBTS, not even the Spider-verse hype could change that.
>>11173112A department store near me has Lego Star Wars sets consisting of a plastic planet, a microscale ship and a minifigure that have sat unsold on the shelf for well over a decade.
>>11176565If they still sell them at retail price you might wanna go there and grab those:https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=star+wars+lego+planet&_sacat=0
>>11176073Wooks love em for some fucking reason
>>11176565Those were pretty great. I have the X wing one.
>>11176834School kids over there also like playing a game where they try to stick fingers up someone's ass. I think it's related.
Why do you hate him so much?
>>11176522The other non gundams sat on shelves for long periods too after release, the michaelis was just the perfect storm of disinterest and massive over production. I've seen speculation that it was because it was supposed to be the big bad suit that it was made in such numbers, but I don't know what the truth of the matter is.>>11176547That might be a two front issue. First, anyone desperate for a spider-gwen got the first release. Second, even with the superior design the unmasked pea head is a real deal breaker.
>>11177015You'd be surprised at how many people can't stand monkeys.
>>11175802I was going to say the exact same for pic rel
>>11176375What's up with that, doesn't he look cool even if you never watched G? Also posability is very important for a martial artist so that's a massive plus too.
>>11177501>doesn't an old guy in a ponytail, slippers and a purple dress look cool devoid of context? Not everyone is terminally weebpilled.
>>11177516But bro Gandalf and Dumbledore are SOOO good, gotta be aimed at weebs.
And no I'm not claiming G is as culturally impactful as LotR or HP.
>>11176375I remember this guy being one of the few knoes. Even Cardcaptor Sakura didn't sell much for some reason>>11177015Never liked the game. It's not even a good vidya monkey
>>11177205Are you kidding? Planet of the Apes, King Kong, Gorilla Grodd... people love monkeys.
>>11177015This is ok if you like the franchise but it should be like a third of the price.
>>11177015monkey ball is way too goddamn niche in 2024 to be selling something this simple at that price in fucking walmarts. it either needed to be cheaper, better, or sold in more select markets. preferably all three.
>>11177897Aren't they still making the games? I wouldn't exactly call it niche.
>>11177015Idk, dont care for the games i guess? Altered beast is pretty cool, hope the line survives a few more waves. >>11177252There are two sorceress left in the clearance section here. Dunno who bought the last stratos but they had to know the deal on him.
>>11177205million pity
>>11177015It's not the new design which is leagues better, or the original classic design. The sonic marble toys were $5 so this one is twice the price and people can see it's a rip off. Maybe it should have came with two monkeys in a pack.
>>11177205After seeing the monkey hate schizos on /gif/, yeah I do believe you.
>>11177843Those are all apes, not monkeys. And seeing one on screen is not the same as dealing with them irl.
>>11176547That ass though
>>11177520You act as if Dumbledore and Gandalf toys fly off shelves(they don't)
>>11176547how is the bootleg?
>>11175449i imagine he just looks too plain / sterile to most people, not a particularly eye catching sculpt but not offensive either
>>11173112>can't hold the bow and arrow properly even in te promo picsI could try and forgive the fact these figures come with awful Barbie heads, maybe find a custom idk. But the articulation being this bad is unforgivable.
I see these abominations pegwarm everywhere I go. I don't think anybody buy these things
>>11177560>Even Cardcaptor Sakura didn't sell much for some reasonfigma Cardcaptor Sakura sold well, infact it made it into Hobbysearch top 15 sales ranking for the year 2015 https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/blog/1512292Now if you meant the SHF, that Idk, the first one might have sold decently as it was packed with lots of good bonuses as well the as the nice book like box it has, the op2 Sakura, it was the last one they released was kinda hoping they release the op3 costume but figmoes forte are school/animu girls so Bandai didn't have much hope, I kinda remember an anon working for a European company(similar to Bluefin for US, forgot the name, might be Cosmic-group or something) working for Bandai devulged that Bandai and MaxFactory/Goodsmile was surprised as Clamp gave both the license and both didn't know about it, Bandai promo pics came first then a day or 2, figma prototype pic followed. its the first time I collected a series both from different brands
>>11181022Visiting mfc pages of said figures and reading the comments, I mixed it up, figma announced first but Bandai followed a day or 2 with a fully colored prototype
>>11178055>that face sculptI thought donald glover played the young lando.
>>11181022Having multiple different Sakuras made me very surprised and happy. I have the school uniform figmas posed with the Figuarts costume Sakuras currently.
>>11181000To be fair though, how it that hand supposed to hold a bow that's been sculpted like that?
>>11176547>>11178063
>>11181370It must be very hard to have the same team working in the whole figure. It seems that the lower and upper halfs were also designed by different people.
>>11181552Are figures actually made like this? I can see paint maybe but two separate teams on a sculpt seems silly.
>>11181555Sometimes, but the teams works together. I said this as a joke but in the case of this figure I don't know, there is something really weird about the whole thing, it feels like they did the sculpt, added the articulation next and then someone changed the heads/details to make the whole thing more stylized but at this point the accessories were already done so they can't fit the figures properly. It's just a mess.
>>11181004Idk, some of the designs looked cool but im not interested in them. Seems like hasbro just needs to focus on a few lines instead of flooding the market. But im not in the buisness of selling toys to kids so whadda i know.
FEI-LONG>*HOWAAAaaaaaaaiiiiiii..............*
>>11176419days later I remembered that I actually did watch this show
I bought this dancing singing Neca Gizmo doll two years ago from Walgreens for $2.69 because he was Halloween clearance. I still see this fucker in Walmart and Target for full price.
>>11182007Because it's not a Halloween toy...it's just a regular toy.
>>11175564There's been like 10 of these at my local Roses for years now. I don't know why they don't just throw them away at this point.
>>11177252The bee dude looks a little fun at least. Girl looks like a reject from Alpha Flight.
>>11175799These are still in the bargain bin at my local Kroger store, and still too expensive
>>11181004they're just such shit. underpainted, shittily articulated, poorly sculpted. just compare the figure to the box art and you can see why kids would pass on that and every other figure in the line. fuck me atleast the megamorphers had a comic book tie in and some massive well made toys that could seat small marvel characters. this is just nothing. all the mech strike/monster hunter/etc marvel lines just look painfully bland and generic.
>>11185008The Witcher toys by McFarlane, particularly the Ceri and the Jasiker, are marked down to $3.99 at Ross but they will still peg warm. That's there last stop. They won't throw that shit away, they will donate them to Goodwill or some foster kids holiday toy drive. Meanwhile, some idiot at Goodwill will mark them up and try to push them on EBAY for full MSRP even though they clearly have highly remaindered discounted price tags on them.
This one's particularly frustrating because, while it and the Land Shark shelfwarm, I've never ever been able to find the other MOTU cars. The Junkions and various beast-mode Transformers also shelfwarm. >>11181004Maybe if they made them transform into vehicles rather than animals, they could do well. Animal Transformers always shelfwarm; they really ought to make fewer of them and make more vehicles.
>>11176073Aren't dreidels generally played with during Hanukkah?
>>11186325That's not a dreidel.
>>11186325That ain't jewish, it's japanese. It's a kendama, an extremely powerful weapon in the right hands.
>>11177560>Even Cardcaptor Sakura didn't sell much for some reasonBecause Figma and Figuarts released Sakura practically in the same month, splitting the audience for the character/brand into two. I think had only one of them done Sakura we'd have seen a bit more of an explosion. After the first release a lot of fans were caught in a wait-and-see mode because they didn't know which line to back.
The eternal shelfwarmers...
Hell. I recently saw an Eternals figure at a thrift store next to a Star Trek Enterprise figure and some random dolls.
>>11176547They reissued her. I know because I got one. Before that she was sold out
>>11176547She's sold out like 2 times though.
>>11175449They probably didn't send enough to Target and sent too many to Wal-Mart. Distribution has not been great on G.I. Joe.It's just as well to me because Retro Duke is a great for a lot of customs, and if I can pick up a few on clearance I absolutely will.
>>11175806Shuricopter is going to be polluting Ollies for the next 10 years.
>>11173112I bought the bunny girl from Rogue One for a dollar and free shipping direct from Hasbro.
>>11187319Rogue One had a bunny girl?
>>11187428
>>11176073
>>11186780it's not sale season yet, but just you wait when it is
>>11176547Like the other anons said, she was reissued so she definitely sold.
>>11186780why do they even sell this kind of thing in stores? don't they have some kind of capability of seeing how popular a toy will be beforehand and then maybe making it a limited online exclusive or just not producing it at all?
