>>11200006Yeah, that looks like it will work too. Shame I can't easily find Cielnova optional parts anywhere near I live. Only Portanova's one is available.Guess I'll wait for a reprint.
So I just finished Megalomaria, my first real model kit. I did a 30 mm dog robot about a year ago while watching a video how to so this was the first one I did solo. Not as hard as I thought it'd be. I have some left over pieces on the sprues and I've no idea what they're for. I realized some of them were to give her a bare robot ass but I like the skirt look she has. There's also some for what seem to be an alt head piece but no instructions on what to do with them. These ones I have circled I've no clue what they could even be for. The finished figure has a hole in her hairband that just didn't look right to me. So I took the translucent blue sprue that held the eyes to see if it'd fit and it did, perfectly. I just had to sand one edge down and then cut it to fit. With how perfect the sprue fit I'm curious if they made the hole the size they did for that specific purpose.
>>11202222Got bored of these after a few releases, too samey. Nice job on the jewel, now I wish I'd considered doing that.
>>11202228I do hope they'll officially create that werewolf robot they proposed recently though. It'll be enough of a unique break from cute girl mecha to be worth buying, and be perfect for a Mega Man X model kit setup. I just got one question: can anyone take a photo of the 30MM Spinatia Knight's shield attached to a 30MF Knight's shield? I'm tempted to buy the Spinatia Knight despite it going out of stock and being scalped solely so I can give my 30MF knight's shield a cool raised section.
>>11202256>I'm tempted to buy the Spinatio Knight despite it going out of stockDidn't they just get reprinted? I know I can easily buy them where I live. I honestly thought about getting it too but after experiencing 30MF I decided not to. I got Spinatio Army and while it's pretty good, the upper torso and shoulder joints feel kinda flimsy and I absolutely hate how you have to swap the shoulder joints if you want good looking unarmored look.
>>11202222Quads of power! Congrats, it’s your first model kit and you’re already crafting little custom touches. That is a sign for future success.I’m fairly certain that the hole up top is meant for other customization options, but it’s neat that the runners are the same width. I found my first Megalomaria to be a straightforward build, but I agree with the other anon in that I probably won’t build another (after the skeleton one).>>11202258I feel as though the Spinatio Knight was the proto for 30MF, and the final version are a step up. That’s not to say the Spinatio is bad, but that whole faction has construction that is a bit too spindly for my tastes.
>>11202222>I have some left over pieces on the sprues and I've no idea what they're for. They're parts that originally belonged to Principal; but Novice and Principal have some common parts between them—you see? Nothing to worry about.

>>11202381Amen to that. Bought two Spinatios and I had to cannibalize one to preserve the other. Damn C-clips… That said, I'm interested in seeing if the shield from Spinatio Knight is compatible with the shield from Liber/Rosan Knight. Just wanna know for sure before buying (or searching for scrap parts). >>11202389Seconded. Got a Seeker and was pleasantly surprised to see there was a whole Principal hairpiece included. Seems good if you want to consider that a "canonical" out-of-hood hairstyle. …does anyone feel like Bandai and Kotobukiya are now going head-to-head in a soon-to-intensify war of competing product lines? Because I'm excited to see if this leads to more new designs and crazier attempts to top the other's efforts.
>>11202581>Damn C-clips…For what's it worth, at least Bandai seems to realize how shit the thing is and did away with it in 30MF line.
>>11202581> does anyone feel like Bandai and Kotobukiya are now going head-to-head in a soon-to-intensify war of competing product lines?I don’t know. I feel like Koto has 1/24 on lock, even if Hexa gear feel like they’re getting close to becoming too pricy. When it comes to girls, Koto has Bandai beat, again at a price point that feels really rich. Megalomaria feels a bit too bland from an aesthetic standpoint and the construction, while really articulate, feels compromised by additional armor rather than enhanced. Even the Megami Device Buster Girls, which were supposed to be more generously priced with less armor, feel too expensive. Maybe this new Frame Arms line will scale back on cost, but that’s the reality of a company with so few factories.Bandai is killing it with 30MM and 30MF is a huge step up. 30MS is kind of middle of the road, but at least it feels affordable. Yeah, yeah, I know, I’m poor.
Anyone have this guy?
>>11202228>>11202381>>11202389Thanks all! How the hell do you move her head? I can do it but it's a genuine effort since it's an awkward sort of mess with the neck and hair, and her torso wanting to move (or pop apart), the head not wanting to, etc. I also don't want to just unga bunga it to move and end up breaking or tearing something off. I do really like the whole flip her hand over into a cannon thing. I wish it'd flip over to a more straight position like someone aiming a gun, but it's still cool.
>>11202648Got him. C-clips make its joints floppy as time goes by. Fun for the first few days, but then you just hang your head in despair when it gets all wiggly and loose some time down the line, unable to support its own weight. Still fun.
>>11202689That's sort of what I suspected. I guess I could deal with constant maintenance. Thanks for your input.
>>11202701Just mind the polycaps that constitute its core. Those will also wear out in time, but not as fast as the c-clips did for mine. Seriously 30MM's C-clips ultimately made me realize I don't wanna over-invest in them. I'd rather just wait for more 30MF, and use scraps from 30MM for upgrades.
>>11202728There are still plenty of vehicle/equipment sets that don't use any c clips. But yeah, those things suck. Apparently there are dimensional inaccuracies in some sets, that can pretty much ruin some joints if you try clipping them on to some places
my boxes so far
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIIw39vJ3SwIt's still a little hard for me to grasp how large Jaguar is.
Not sure how 'modular' the Moderoid series of mecha kits are, but the description mentions 'interchangeable parts' for the transformations, so I guess it counts. Anyway, looks like Goodsmile is reissuing my boy Blassty, and I only just found out about it. What's more, they're also releasing an entirely new kit based on his Manga look, which is awesome. Not sure how many people here are familiar with Cruise Chaser given how obscure it was, but I think it's neat.
>>11202481This is a pretty cool little set. It's just really fucking lame they didn't use the same color schemes as the first set.

Kirin but ice. I have the original Kirin and the transformation is the worst, but as a Qilin it looks really good.
>>11211853>>11211873I love the Kirin mold, and have all three versions of it so far (normal, Dark Kirin and Tianma), so this one's a given. That being said, I hope they make use of the Tianma sculpt for the next repaint they do of the mold - she's pretty, and I know a lot of people missed out on her because she was an exclusive.
Just found out about Ghillie dude today. Damn he looks cool as fuck. Anyone got it preordered?
So koto's Megalomaria is expanding to dudebots too? I thought that they were some sort of non-fleshy FAG/Megami Device spinoff and were already covered by the shinki thread. Reminder to self or whoever makes next thread to add it to the OP list. Do they use 3mm or other diameter joints?
>>11212152They're designed to work nicely with Sousai Shojou Teien kits and Hexagear, too.

>>11214692Yeah you're supposed to be able to fit the beast drive cars in the trailer in "garage" mode, so it figures it'd be beefy. That's kinda what's been making me hold back. I wanna wait for the purple one so it'll gel better with my purple carbots.
>>11213174thank you!
>>11212061As someone who got their Seeker secondhand, I'm waiting for someone to sell him on discount, or the cool Megalomaria Mephisto recolor down the line....after getting into 30MF, I really wanna get more knightly body-types and some cool robots I can just kitbash and play with.>>11212152Yep, they use 3mm hardpoints, and the joints are in line with some of Koto's other offerings, I'd wager.

These two showed up today, but I won't have a chance to build them until after the holiday. It's been a while since I got my hands on any Zoids stuff, and I've never built any of the Zoids Wild kits - anyone know how they compare to the normal-sized HMM ones? I'm assuming they're going to be a downsized, less detailed build.
I asked in a previous thread about something to help fit water decals into weirdly shaped grooves, I think some anons recommended softeners, but I can't remember if any in particular was recommended. I kinda thought the old thread would stay archived a little longer.I just got two more dinocars (the botcon ones) and I wanted to make sure I did the best job I could applying decals on them this time.
>>11217190By dinocars I mean the Beast Drive raptors, for the record. These are the ones I did previously, and it's the spine/tail ridges that present the most trouble.
>>11217190"Mr Mark Softer", the green one. Strong softener that melt decals down do fit deep crevicesMark Setter is close to other brands' decal solutions, meant for decals that go onto flatter less challenging surfaces. These can be skipped entirely if you get used to plain water.
>>11217600Much appreciated anon. I'll post results when I can. I should be okay for flatter surfaces (middle one here aside, it was the exception, I got too OCD about it). That being said, though, there were some spots on Naughtysaur where I ran into the problem of the decal being too wide for the space it was meant for, so there was some overhang.>>11217195It was the two wide yellow parts next to the hinges on either side of the cockpit. You can see it best on the top one. That part right against the hinge where it needs to rotate was the most worrisome part, it might be okay hanging over at the other end toward the front if it can cling to the sides tightly enough. I guess my question would be if you think the softener would help it do that better? It might not even be an issue on these molds, I haven't looked yet.One last side note, apparently the botcon raptor cars' packaging has stats and lore on them. I'll post pictures later but I'm fascinated to know there's lore for these things. Was there any for the other beast drive bots? I didn't see any on the packaging or instructions for them, but maybe I overlooked it.
>>11218125>it might be okay hanging over at the other end toward the front if it can cling to the sides tightly enough. I guess my question would be if you think the softener would help it do that better?Yes you can use the softener to force the overhang over the corner, but if it's in contact with the hinge it may still rub off over use. Softening decals also make them weaker btw. If I was in your situation, I'd apply mark softer on the overhang then run the back of a knife over the edge to deliberately scrape off the excess preemptively.>One last side note, apparently the botcon raptor cars' packaging has stats and lore on them.No lore for regular Beast Drive yet, that was Botcon doing their Botcon OCs, just like how they used to do it with Hasbro TFs repaints when they still had the license.

It is however, exclusive to JD.com, China's 2nd largest e-commerce platform. But that's not what JD has been known for recently. The relevant thing here is that the Chinese web-slang for "simps" that are defending the lady is 龟男 i.e. "turtle boy" So I don't know if it's a dumb coincidence but 52toys is selling a special snowflake version of the "turtle" on the "turtle boy" simp platform. JD is already suffering from mass boycotts by hurt dudes so the optics don't look good for 52toys lol.
Can someone confirm if the Base Fighters can be attached to TM frames? The usual ports seem to be there but still I can't find pics of people doing it.
>>11219934
>>11219984Thanks. Maybe I'll get some KO frames to go with vehicles set4.
Okay, so I got the Scales/Velasaraptor Botcon pack. Turns out it's just one car and two sets of armor, which... alright, I guess if that's the only way to get the third style of armor, sure. I only put together the one version, though, because I already have Naughtysaur. I said I'd post the boxes so here they are, with Botcon's lore. It's confusing because to the best of my knowledge, "Scales" is the one with the armor plates, going by the instruction manual. The other one... well the instruction manual just has inexplicable chinese glyphs but I'm given to believe it's just Botcon Naughtysaur.
>>11223858I appreciate the anons who helped me figure out the decal softener stuff. It does work, though it's still a bit tricky. It feels like it kinda shrinks a bit after use, I'm wondering if I didn't keep prodding it more than necessary and it might've just sunk into place on its own a bit if I'd left it alone more. Because I did notice after a while it'd molded a little better to the shape than it initially had. Either way, I only needed it for those bits in the middle behind the tip of the shield plate. Those are the knee areas on the dino legs. Didn't really have many issues with the rest of them, thankfully.
>>11223863The issue I have with this set is that the great majority of these molds kind of just blend right the hell in. It's hard enough to see them on a translucent plastic to begin with, but they're largely orange decals on orange plastic. You might imagine how insane that drove me trying to get them lined up, but I think I managed it. Just something to look out for if you ever plan to do your own.Still, it looks cool, and I'm glad to have more or less completed the set here.
