>Premium DNA posts updated June 28 explaining the delay in delivery for EWJ is because the factory made a bunch of duds and had to redo them all but they're gonna ship out aaaaaany day now
>AliExpress absolutely flooded with EWJ figures at over half off
>Premium DNA says those are all just the duds that the Chinese factory is trying to unload
>people have been getting the AliExpress ones and there's no sign of any problems with them
So what happened here? Megalopolis back to their old tricks?
>>
The going theory is that after they made China remake the figures, they either couldn't or weren't willing to pay for the new ones, and those are the ones China's been offloading on AliExpress. Now PremiumDNA is stuck with no figures to fulfill orders and no way of spinning this so they've just gone silent. Even their website now says it's "under construction" and won't let you order anything, so I think they're getting ready to bail.
>>
Has anyone gotten them yet?
>>
>>11204520
PDNA is mismanaging money as usual again and didn't pay the factory so they're offloaing the figures themselves. Never trust anything PDNA says. Too many sketchy things and signs of a company that's got no money left.
>>
>>11204786
Some people who preordered from BBTS have gotten them, so PremiumDNA was apparently able to fulfill some orders, but anyone who bought directly from them is probably screwed.
>>
Their website has been 'under construction' for almost a month now it seems? Yeah something is definitely going on. I only ordered these from entertainment earth so we'll see what happens but I expect them to just cancel all their preorders from them one of these days.
>>
>>11204814
I had preordered from BBTS but I cancelled when I saw them showing up on AliExpress. A ordered the whole set from different stores, so far I've only gotten Monkey for a Head and the Jim head pack and so far the only problem was that the professor came with an extra right hand fist instead of the gripping hand, but other than that they seem fine.
>>
PremiumDNA is such a sketchy company.
>>
Didn't they kinda do this already when they were called something else?
>>
>>11204857
Sort of, they were a store called Megalopolis but they didn't make their own toys at the time, I don't know the full story of what went down but I do know they ran off with people's money and apparently used that money to start Premium DNA
>>
Fool me one, shame on you. Fool me twice,...
>>
>>11204520
>the factory made a bunch of duds and had to redo them all
Inspires so much confidence.
>>
Those guys need to be clinically retarded. They made two new lines, Battletoads and Earth Worm Jim, they got warm reception and sold fairly well. They could just continue that and make good money, but noooo... their scummy instincts were stronger again.
>>
Just ordered one on AliExpress for eleven bucks shipped. New users get free shipping or four dollars off with code NEWUS4OFF

Thanks for the heads up OP
>>
>>11204520
So, wait, AliExpress is getting the "duds"?
>>
>>11204877
That might actually be supporting their scummy behaviour.
>>
>>11204878
Supposedly, but they seem to be fine so who even knows.
>>
>>11204879
Do they actually make money off of the ones sold there?
>>
>>11204885
I doubt it.
>>
>>11204891
Can you be sure though? I could understand a couple figures appearing on the website, but it was a lot.
>>
>>11204902
I think the fact that they're at such a steep discount indicates that they're the "duds" though exactly what's wrong with them is hard to tell and I'm guessing the Chinese sellers don't know either or they'd be charging more. Also I don't think the PDNA guys are competent enough to pull a scam where people order figures at X price, they make them, and then just don't deliver them and offload them on a Chinese website for Y price. Their MO so far has been more about being in over their heads, unable to navigate the difficulties of the business world, and then just cutting and running.
>>
>>11204550
Yeah I think PDNA claiming these were all defective was a lie and them claiming they made the factory do it over is damage control. I think they just couldn't pay for most of the order, the factory kept whatever was unpaid for and they're getting their money back via AliExpress. The whole story about PDNA valiantly demanding that the factory remake them and that's why it's taking so long sounds like a fabrication.
>>
>>11204965
Shows you how much of a markup these places do.
>>
>>11204969
I'd be interested to know how much exchange rates and cost of living plays there.
>>
>>11204520
>ones and there's
Not true. There's plenty of paint problems and mistakes on the figures. The factory is just selling the junk.
>>
>>11204999
Got any pictures?
>>
>>11204999
If this is true, why is PDNA being unresponsive about when the real stuff is arriving?
>>
So this basically guarantees there's not going to be a wave 2, right?
>>
>>11205075
seems unlikely most of the people who even ordered these are going to get them at all
>>
>>11205075
Yeah, I didn't want to get every character from the games but I did want Peter, Princess WHN, Evil and Queen Slug for a Butt. Everyone else I could take or leave.
>>
How did people allow this to happen AGAIN? Were they blinded by EWJ nostalgia?
>>
>>11205095
I think a lot of it has to do with people just not being well informed about the Megalopolis swindle
>>
>>11205095
I think almost anyone who was well-informed ordered them through another retailer and is safe. It’s those retailers that are going to get fucked.
>>
>>11205094
Yeah I think that's pretty much the extent of what characters people would want. Maybe Evil Jim or Major Mucus, but I don't think too many people are clamoring for Doc Duodenum or Pedro Pupa
>>
>>11204520
Anyone have the factory info? I can contact them and see what's up.
>>
>>11204520
I have a EW Jim and there's nothing dud about it. It definitely looks and feels like a legit PDNA figure.

>>11204550

Yeah, it's ogre. The canary in the coalmine is a fucking skeleton. I warned everyone in the last one of these threads to contact their bank or PayPal to get their cash money back because this wasn't looking good.
>>11205095
>>11205098
>blinded by EWJ nostalgia
Pretty much. Anytime I mentioned their shady past, the most common response was "but they look amazing and they are the only ones making them." I warned them that if their need to feed the nostalgia beast was all consuming to not order directly from PDNA, and preorder them from somewhere that doesn't require money down. Even when Anthony's Cumstains did the damage control video vouching for them, he got torn apart in the comments from people that knew more than he did about their history as Megalopolis.
If anyone lost money on these, it was because they had their fingers in their ears.
>>
I didn't order them, but I hope somehow they come through on the madballs figures they have up for PO. Or if not, someone else picks up the line. They look cool and I wanted to see the final product. Would be a shame if the line ended with just one wave + pumpkin guy.

Yeah this was our only chance at seeing some of these figures, they specifically chose Professor Monkey for a Head for the first wave because he didn't make it to the original line so I think some of these had a shot at being in future waves.

I guess we can only hope another company gets the license and doesn't scam people.

Depends on the financial institution, some of them might not be willing to help you dispute it after a certain amount of time and some might still do it for you. I'd still try contacting PDNA first, they're unlikely to respond but you can at least say you tried which is what most banks will tell you to do first.
>>
>>11206265
Thanks. Someone on PDNA's facebook says their EWJ figure came in 2 weeks ago, but with a broken ankle. He says he was going to try to fix it himself.
>>
EWJ is a cursed entity and didn't deserve what happened to it.
>>
>>11206272
It's a weird property because nobody really knows how to handle it. The first game was kind of a lightning in a bottle moment where the Shiny team came together to make something that had just the right mix of its ingredients. Ever since then everyone's struggled to recapture the magic or at least try to make sense of it, even EWJ2 felt like they were just throwing shit against the wall and hoping it stuck. TenNapel tried to do some graphic novels but it's clear his heart wasn't really in them and he just did them because he needed the money, then he stopped because he hopped on the NFT train.

He got out of it because comicfags are a bunch of libshits and he is a conservative, so he basically can't make money in that industry anymore.

He explicitly said he would stop because he realized he could make more money on NFTs. He hasn't started sending emails to his backers anymore so I guess he probably made enough money on that before it collapsed so that he doesn't have to keep making comics.
>>
>>11206391
Crowdfunding sites started deploying people to shut down indie comics made by conservatives, Kickstarter's "comics czar" was quite outspoken about it.

Yeah he doesn't have rights for anything. Doug's actually never owned EWJ, Shiny did and David Perry sold the rights to Interplay back in the 90's, which is how they were able to make EWJ 3D with basically nobody from Shiny. Even with the graphic novels, Doug still had to get the license from Interplay.

Sooooo.... I have no idea what's going on with DNA, aliexpress, bbts etc. all I know is that the earthworm Jim figure I ordered from AliExpress is flawless. More people have told me this and after I posted it on my X people have replied back to me after receiving the figures and like them.

The only figure I can comment on is Jim himself. All joints were tight, everything about the figure other than the damage to the box which seems kind of flimsy for packaging, was professional. The straps across his chest aren't very flexible and you don't get much movement out of the torso joint. Maybe they were changed later on but I have no confirmation of this. Some people have had luck peeling them off and replacing them or repositioning them so that they are longer. I'll probably try this at some point but the figure is near perfect and looks good in any position which is pretty amazing.

It reminds me of handling my other most favorite action figure, SCUD the disposable assassin, from the other wretched most hated company, shocker toys. Somehow they produce this great figure that looks perfect the design is awesome, it's everything you wanted but comes from a company you cannot stand. Not even a monkey's paw just a paradox.

Either way you shouldn't have a problem with ordering Jim off of AliExpress. I'm ordering the head pack now because it dropped two bucks in price and I want that worm body too

>>
>>11207935

>>
>>11206398
>>
>>11207935
I feel much the same way about a lot of characters. Like, I'll like something, but not enough to buy an expensive action figure of it.
>>
>>11208008
Yeah I can't, and I tried to reset the password and haven't gotten anything. It's obvious that the site is dead.
>>
>>11209701
Yeah, the time that I would've bought an EWJ action figure was 15-25 years ago.

Same with Thundercats. Loved the show in the late 80s, recorded the entire run on Toonami in the late 90s, but don't have many of the Super7 figures. They just came out too late and too expensive. 10 years earlier for closer to $25, I would've bought everything.
>>
>>11210705
Yeah that's kind of how I feel, I was kind of interested in these but not enough to pay $50 for them. Seeing the AliExpress pricing I did decide to get Jim for $20, I'm not sure I'm going to get any of the others though.
>>
>>11210705
>>11210755
Yeah that's the thing about Earthworm Jim, nobody's done anything with the property in ages so it's just this really niche thing that appeals exclusively to 30 year old nostalgia. It kind of reminds of the the Bucky O'Hare line from Boss Fight, that's a property that's been dead for even longer, and just like EWJ that line got cut short before it got a chance to fill its main cast though at least in their case it wasn't due to shady business practices that left people holding the bag.
>>
So was this a scam then?
>>
>>11211794
Yep, thats how it went
>>
>>11211794
I wouldn't call it a scam, since the figures were actually made and it seems they did intend to fill the orders. Then something went down between them and the factory and now they have nothing to deliver. The problem isn't even so much that they don't have the product, because they could just apologize and refund everyone's money. The problem is they don't want to admit that something went very wrong and don't want to take responsibility.

Good on you, anon. The sooner you break free from this, the happier you will be as a toy collector.

There are lots of characters I love, but I won't buy a toy unless I love it, at first sight, as much as I love the character. I've been obsessed with Earthworm Jim since the first game came out, but none of the recent toys I've seen have been nearly good enough to drop coin on. I just got mine and I'm seeing this too, though I don't think it's even the straps so much as the torso joint just not having a lot of range. I can get some decent side to side movement from it but back and forth is pretty much non-existent.

But I'm a Doug TenNapel fan, and I get a quality Earthworm Jim figure at a cheap price, and I get to fuck over Premium DNA. I'm winning hard over here.

Ordered my Jim off of Ali Express. Got it fast as fuck but they ended sending me the big bad toy store exclusive. I'm hoping they just let me keep it and send me the one i wanted instead of making me send mine back.

Not bad desu, they might as well go for it with the molds they've got available.

No, Brian and Blaine need therapy.
Conversion therapy. Then maybe they will be able to quit their crippling cocksucking addiction.

i wonder if its because in the indiegogo comic. Evils the cat was a communist
>>
>>11215114
That's probably what did it. It's still really vile that they had to attack actual consumers and deny them product just to spite one person.

despite it making sense Communists might be offended by satire of Communism.
Knowing chinese merchants, they don't give a shit about what they are selling and to whom, as long as they are ripping you off
>>
>>11216382
Yeah I don't think they know about a graphic novel that was only released to backers on an Indiegogo campaign
>>

I can no longer sit back and allow Communist infiltration, Communist indoctrination, Communist subversion and the international Communist conspiracy to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids.

You just perfectly described American capitalism.

Doug is a piece of shit for just dropping the EWJ comics
They made decent money on Indie Go GO
>>

lmao, what? How?
>>
>>11218713
Lmao, he doesn't have to "deal" with them. It was a kickstarter--he showed what he was making and people gave him money for it. You're trying to make it sound like the guy was being drawn and quartered by trannies just for doing silly worm drawings.
>>
>>11218724
conservatives have always been the biggest snowflakes. They see something they personally disagree with and throw a shitfit, then make up excuses so they can play the victim.
>>
>>11206291
>it's clear his heart wasn't really in them and he just did them because he needed the money, then he stopped because he hopped on the NFT train.
Is that true? That's a damn shame. They weren't amazing, but even as a faggot leftist, I enjoyed the first two volumes, despite the blatant shoe-horning of his own beliefs and agenda into them.
>>
>>11218771
>They see something they personally disagree with and throw a shitfit, then make up excuses so they can play the victim.
That describes both sides.
>Nooooo, you can't have attractive female action figures because of muh male gaze or gun accessories because war toys are evil
>Nooooo, you can't have Movie Maniacs figures in TRU because they are corrupting our children
I hope you all kill each other in the upcoming civil war.
>>
>>11218780
>despite the blatant shoe-horning of his own beliefs and agenda into them.
lmao this. I wasn't offended because I'm not a snowflake rightoid, but giving Jim a conservative farmer friend who teaches him about god is pretty much no different than if they had made Princess What's-Her-Name into a tranny who tells Jim that black lives matter.
>>
>>11218722

Kickstarter has a "Comics Czar." Their job is to remove comic projects made by conservatives like TenNappel and that guy who made Cyberfrog.

Got my Jim in. Seems pretty good to me. The alt head has some fucked up paint, feels weird in the hand. That's okay though, ther eis a mostly identical head in the head pack. There is a small paint imperfection on the default head, but nothing major. Overall I'm pretty happy.

No. They just remove projects that are retarded, hateful vehicles for seething manchild intolerance. It's just that there's a lot of overlap in those two categories, oddly.
>>
>>11219279
>feminists and troons both reject sexy females for different reasons.
I thought it was the same reason: because they aren't sexy females.
>>11219589
Is Cyberfrog the modern day Mein Kampf, or are you a hyperbolic drama queen who's sphincter will be dilated in 5 days?
>>
>>11219599

No. It's also not cancelled. Not sure why you're bringing it up. Are you retarded?

Reminder that EVS deleted a drunkstream where he smoked crack and licked a urinal at a con. Not even joking.
