I've got a leg where the paint of the sock is like half a cm over where it should be painted, so on the skin.The part couldn't be replaced, so what are my options of removing just the excess paint without damaging it?Bit wary of chemicals and straight out sandpaper I think I'll ruin it. End of disclaimer.So, like, Figma(s?) aren't especially good figures. The joints are bananas. The sculpts are soft. The paint isn't stellar.Are brand loyalty and licensing fees the only reasons for their high price to low value experience?

They’ve also been around for years so there’s a huge array of options in the same scale and style and they’re almost fully part-swappable with eachother, which is probably why they barely ever update the system.

Figma still do the most faithful anime faces, and nothing else is lacking in the sculpting department. And the paint, when there are no QC issues, is some of the best, but in recent years they have been slacking and there is the occasional paint bleed/overspray.But yeah, the articulation isn't the best. It isn't the worst either, and apart from the bullshit elbows of late, it is always good enough. Their usual styled knees and elbows often get a better range and look less clunky than western figures with double knees and elbows.But the prices suck. 10k+ for a vtuber or FotM anime character is way too much.Skull Knight still feels somewhat worth it when compared to the SHF Berk figures though.

I think they do generally have good sculpts for the most part, aside from some live-action stinkers. I think they excel at anime faces, while competitors still frequently end up with ones that feel slightly off in some way. And I think they generally look very good in most poses and have an acceptable range of motion from the joints. Granted they typically can't hit the more extreme dynamic poses that revos and the occasional figuarts can pull off, but generally they do a fine job of hitting the poses I want them to hit.For the most part, I simply think they're more consistent than competitors. I can almost always know exactly what to expect from a figma without handling it in person, with the occasional fuck up (which is often noticeable in advance) and the occasional pleasant surprise that goes above and beyond. As other anons have pointed out, it's also usually a a point of being the only option for a character. In general I'll usually choose a figma for any female anime character (of course there are exceptions. Figma Power looked awful for example) I'll turn to figuarts or revo for males, live-action, or anything else that will probably want more exaggerated action poses. My biggest issue with figma is how much their prices have inflated and how few they produce now. I miss being able to expect figures from any mildly popular seasonal anime.
