We have a real life Space Force now, and Mattel hasn’t brought back this toyline yet.
One of the best ones of 1986-1987.

The Starcom cartoon was surprisingly high quality. It had a lot of sci-fi elements that would be common in anime a decade later but it treated them like they were commonplace rather than feeling like it had to baby the audience by explaining everything with exposition, it's just part of the world the characters live in.

The Wing Commander cartoon some years later was pretty good too although Starcom had better animation.
