So I'm looking to get into collecting those Phicen/tb league (don't know the difference) figures because they look incredibly detailed and lifelike. Before I dive in, what should I know? Are they generally more fragile than regular PVC figures? Also, what do the bodies look like without clothes on? Pic related from "Verycool" got me interested.

The way the joints bend got me concerned

>>11231663
oh yeah. that shit is going to crack in no time

-The bodies have no anatomical details under the clothes, the most you will get is a nipple bump maybe
-If you put them in a dynamic pose that stresses the material they will crack from the stress, you have to display them in a neutral pose, the provided instructions will tell you as much
-They are dust magnets and if you clean them with water you have to then apply something like cornstratch after they dry otherwise they will get tacky
-If you dress them in clothes that come from china they will stain most likely
- The metal skeleton underneath can poke through the elbows if not careful, although i suspect that's a problem only for the 1/12 ones
- Most of the nicer more detailed ones are 1/6 scale, you may not care about that one though

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. They aren't terrible but they come with a lot of issues that you have to be careful about.

What's the point of calling them "action figures", when it's dangerous to pose them?
>>
>>11232473
They're calling them "dolls" tbf.
>>
>>11231956
Did you not see the Mezco Batman thread? Seamless bodies all do this and will still crack just from time. Just say no to seamless.
>>
>>11231956
not him but yes. I own Tunshi Studio mai and i had her posed like this for some time. i always like to move my figures around and i noticed her elbow was splitting from her arm being bent too long. You can pose seamless figures for photo shoots but you must put them back in a neutral afterwards. but dont let this discourage you. I like mai and dont mind buying more figures of her. only time will tell how long the body will actually last but you can always buy another seamless body. her head is made of plastic so you can transfer the cloths and accessories. Bishoujou and storm collectables have mai figure and statue you can still buy
>>
>>11232728
If you just leave them inside their boxes, can the bodies still get damaged overtime?

Very nice, very pretty but too expensive and no lewd details. Not my thing. At this point I'd rather get a 3d Mai to use on virt a mate.

i'v had mine on display on my shelf over a year and no issues. Tunshi studio blue mary was my first 1/6 scale figure and i'v had her for 2 years no issues(apart from the split elbow). on both my figures it is a minor split but once the arm goes back to a neutral pose you can't notice it.
Other collectors have said don't keep the figure exposed to heat & sunlight to avoid damage the same with plastic figures.

Does anyone know what the bust size for Mai is? Closest competitor I've seen is the LDDoll 29XL, which is 17.6cm

they're even the same price

If I store them in my freezer, will this solve the moisture damage problem?

The only reason I hope this Mai sells well is because I hope this will allow for an Angel down the line. The third party released a couple of years back wasn't bad but I'd like a licensed one.
>>

Pretty sure that would damage the rubber. Store them with silica or keep silica in you display case. Get the silica you can reactivate in the oven.

jesus, my coomer brain is telling me to buy this. another mai figure won't hurt. i never used ORZGK are they any good? do they ship from the US or are they from over seas? I mainly buy from BBTS. I recently started using "Mozfigure" but shipping takes a long time because they are in china.

>>
>>11250175
even if you don't do anything to them?
>>
>>11253261
eventually, yeah. it's just the material, it doesn't last. Some people keep them in tubes or under glass or whatever to help preserve them, i've heard of using oils or other substances to try to prevent cracking, but it is what it is. That's why I prefer hard plastic, but I'm not saying these aren't enjoyable; they're just more ephemeral than figures made with more robust materials
>>
>>11253351
not him but what kind of oil is there for the silicon skin? I own two 1/6 scale dolls and they wear cloth clothing no faux leather. the few videos out there on 1/6 scale maintenance are mostly for marvel hot toys that use a lot of faux leather. they use leather conditioner.
