I’ve had the LKC for a while now and while it’s certainly impressive at first glance, I’m not sure it captures the castle theme it’s representing as well as it could. For one, it seemed to focus more on realism and dollhouse type interiors. Yet they don’t even include a throne room. Not to mention that when you open it up, most of the interior is inaccessible to the outside. I would’ve preferred if they went with fantasy over realism, instead we just get hints of it with Majisto included. Also the LKC is dwarfed when you put it alongside sets like the Medieval Blacksmith, the top of its roof practically reaches the top of the castle. I’m curious what other anons here think of the set and if it is truly a worthy addition to the castle theme.

>>11253479Michael was all pissy last week during his stream discussing the 'lost cut' of Rogue One. Now he's doing TLG videos? Did he get divorced?
>>11253544>divorcedif true I hope Melinda finally gets her turn in the spotlight, she is a wonderful talent and I'm sick of her being held back
>>11253479As far as large sets of this type go, it's good, it has actual play features, nice details plenty of minis, and a nice side build with the cart that still doesn't feel like it's taking away from the main. It feels like a really big playset rather than just a dust collector like so many. However, it is still part of an overall problem with current era lego because these kinds of one off big sets rather than an array of smaller sets that are actually affordable suck. The 3 in 1 castle when still available was overall a better set even if it had too few minis. The actual castles of lego castle were usually still too expensive and not that good anyway but while this is good for what it is, it's still not something that should be.>not fantastical I think this is in keeping with the era of castle that it wants to harken back to, I actually would've liked more peasants but I've got the old market village for that and other people can have the new market square if they need some, but that's also too expensive>no throne roomIt's a castle, not a palace, but regardless it's not exactly hard to add or alter for if you want it>Also the LKC is dwarfed when you put it alongside sets like the Medieval BlacksmithThis is more of an indictment of the blacksmith set, which is ridiculously huge for what it is, it doesn't even really feel "in scale" with minifigures. The LKC is already massive, if anything it's too big
>>11253479pic related is better because its actually designed for action adventure
>>11253777I think it comes down to taste in more standard medieval pastiche or outright fantasy, DnD armour aesthetics are cringe but this is a really cool set in terms of variety, the brickbuilt monsters are also extremely kino and almost make me want to get it. Just like with the LKC, I wish it were a theme wave with a number of small sets instead of one big one, if that were the case I'd definitely buy stuff
>>11253544I hope, Melinda was too good for this piece of sorry ass garbage called Michael
>>11253788combining the set with the cmf wave makes for an absolute kino experienceI bought the set at 25% discount (270 euros) during black friday
>>11253777Apples to oranges. Lion Knight's Castle is occupied by the king and knights, the sort of place your party might go to hobnob or accept a quest. The D&D dungeon is occupied by monsters, where your party would go to adventure.
>>11253807lion knights castle is a boring pozzed dollhouse of nothingness. if you're gonna do a castle it better come with catapults and battering rams to pit against it
>>11253815you can't praise DnD and complain about something being pozzed simultaneously, its absurd, like a stephen universe fan saying rick and morty is worse because it's cringe and wokeI think both these sets are cool, the classic castle aesthetic is better than DnD but the oversized castle is worse than having a varied set with really cool side build monsters, both sets are way too big
>>11253815How did the horse get up there?
>>11253815D&D dungeon is more pozzed by simple vitue of being D&D. A female knight does not compare to whitewashed tieflings, especially when the D&D set also has female combatants.
>>11253833The lego castle reality operates using skyrim physics, he walked up there
>>11253824I can and I will, female warriors and non-whites are fine and true to the DnD brand. The set is great encapsulation of the theme, all the greatest hits are included. The lion knights castle is supposed to celebrate the 90 years of Lego castle but does a terrible job at that, it's not true to it's essence. The king was always a staple of castle sets yet he's missing, there's no throne room, no magisto study/lab, no catapults, no skeletons and ghosts in dungeons, no dragons... All the things that defined Lego castle... just fucking kitchens and dining rooms and bedrooms and toilets which have nothing to do with the brand and to add to the insult enemy factions are coming together for a friendly celebration. What a crock of shit>>11253836There are no tieflings in the set
>>11253859>The king was always a staple of castle sets yet he's missing, there's no throne room, no magisto study/lab, no catapults, no skeletons and ghosts in dungeons, no dragons... All the things that defined Lego castleAbsolutely none of those things except catapults were from the Lion Knights/Black Falcons/Black Knights era of classic castle. They definitely should have had a companion set that included a catapult and a siege tower with some Black Falcons.
>>11254021>absolutely none of those things except catapults were from the Lion Knights/Black Falcons/Black Knights era of classic castle.its supposed to be a celebration of the theme as a whole, not a specific era
>>11254079I know what their PR said, but seeing it, it's obvious the design brief was "Lion Castle era with Medieval Market Village AFOL appeal and Easter eggs from other castle eras."Besides, skeletons and ghosts are relatively easy to find, and Creator dragons are better than any of the molded ones they ever made. The DnD one looks pretty cool and reminds me of the 2010s Creator dragon. And that pic is kino. Dark Forestmen was too short-lived.
>>11254079Must be why they included 3 factions all of which are from that specific era, because it totally wasn’t specifically focused on it>>11253859>no skeletons in a dungeonAnon, you’re either trolling or genuinely retarded. The domestic stuff is nice to have, there’s a reason the old medieval village is so beloved, but even then it’s more varied than that, most of the minifigures are knights, ie soldiers, but it’s nice when medieval settings have more than just conflict.>the factions are coming together as friendsYou could just have your own headcanon like everybody else? The LKC has siege related features, including slots to drop “rocks” through, portcullises and the retractable bridge leading to the dungeon. There’s still implied conflict in the official story too because of the forestmen.>>11254021This is the real tragedy, we probably could’ve had a larger wave of multiple smaller castle sets instead which would’ve been way better
>>11253794Whyd you return you little BLACKED spammer? Go back to Kiwi Farms.
>>11253493Hey be nice
>>11253815I don’t like the DnD set at all honestly
>>11256468It looks bad on pic, even more so than other sets, but its much better in person. I was on the fence when it came out, but i think its better than lkc and I have both. I hate nudnd and still didnt want to give wotc any money but I recived it as a gift. I changed heads to yellow because my moc/set fantasy medieval setup is all yellow besides some skellies and monaters. Dnd set dont have any "pozzed" stuff of the likes of the current dnd edition so thats a plus (no battle wheelchairs, genderfluid orcs and similar bullshit). Both sets are terrific for castle/fantasy parts so if you got the money I dont see why you wouldnt want them both, especialy if you got time, because both sets are massive. I cant imagine how you can have 5/8 job and still have time for buulding enormous mocs. Like legit, I spent around 20h building dnd set over 3 days, probably will waste twice as much when i will moc with it, do /lego have life outside klocki or klocki and work? When i got new bricks/set i usualy spend few/dozen of days with lego, but afterwards im off it for few mobths because I feel sated and dont have time/energy/space.
Is the LKC on Amazon legit…?

She may be busy, and I can't imagine her wanting 24/7 immersion around stuff that's boys talking about boy-stuff and nostalgia-tripping on boy-times and shit. >>11253479>Yet they don’t even include a throne roomThat's actually a pretty big fuck-up for a castle. The three requirements for a proper castle are a throne room, a big dining hall, and peasant/troop housing in small spartments ont he inside of the outer walls.
>>11253479There is no Castle theme. Lego refuses to revive the Space or Castle theme because they care more about maintaining their licensees and baiting nostalgia fags into buying one-off multi-hundred dollar sets like the Lion Knights Castle.
>>11262828>. Lego refuses to revive the SpaceWe just got a year of space sets, anon.
>>11263322Are they really space though? more like city space exploration sets.
>>11253479I love the set... I plan to pick up the new market village before it retires.... I hope they make a third set to go with it. The medieval blacksmith doesn't match and it is disapointing but the village matches.
>>11267497What would the third set be?
