Anyone know where I can find a good chink version of this minifig with actual good printing?
>>
The nowadays problem is that these brands are now priced as LEGO was 10 years ago, due to LEGO has duplicated or triplicated their prices

LEGO was yet expensive 10 years ago.

That means that these brands are expensive and not always have the same quality standards

Yeah its hard to tell sometimes but lego is so expensive now that I just can't justify buying most sets. So even if they send me amputee minifigs now and then the defects are still few enough to make the bootlego worth it.

Printing looks shit as well though.

Printing quality looked alright to me but I don't have any originals to compare it to. It was the plastic on these ones that was considerably worse than other brands i've bought. Got these all for about 6$

Have had similar experiences with those specific KOs, seems to be a trend when they're directly copying Lego. OC stuff on the other hand tends to be really good in general, at least that I've experienced. Been collecting the newer medieval stuff, they're going all out with the printing and new armor and weapons.
>inb4 fleshies
I know they're anathema to some, used to feel the same way but I've grown to accept and even embrace them as their own unique race in my Legos-verse.

On an unrelated note the latest series of Sluban military sets has finally dropped and I've already received my Pantsir, Stryker and T90AS, with BTR-80AS and BMD-25 somewhere in limbo thanks to Canada Post walking off the job for a month... Just ordered the T90 versus Him/Hers, wouldn't be surprised if it got here before they sort out the backlog, heh.

Built the Stryker and figured I'd give it a bit of a review, been a while since the last one. First thing that stood out to me is the mooks seemed to be armed not with US, but UNSC small arms...

Sure enough, while the one sprue is reasonable for modern warfare, the other is a few hundred years into the future - copies of various BrickArms Halo weapons.

Was going to dwell a bit on that thought; I wonder if Sluban has made formal arrangements with BrickArms for the use of their weapon designs, these aren't the first ones to appear in their sets. Anyway, the finished product and crew, with typical Lego fig for comparison.

Just about every small piece in the set had a spare, something Sluban is pretty routine about. The stickers were also par for the course, annoying to some but not excessive if you don't mind them in the first place - have built sets that had stickers for just about every viable surface which gets old fast. It's a reasonably recognizable recreation of the real-world IFV, with the exception of the turret. I assume they were basing it off a prototype mounting a VADS; the end result looks more like the Chinese Gatling Tank from C&C Generals. Given that this and the other sets of this wave are directly inspired by certain ongoing conflicts I would say having a big-ass drone-busting weapon isn't a bad choice. It does make the vehicle itself feel a bit small relative to the figures, which we'll get to in the next pics.

The Stryker has a rear ramp door, with roof hatches to open up that back space some, rather necessary as the interior is too cramped even for the slightly smaller Sluban figs to fit inside realistically. The Typhoon they made in their last wave was also very cramped, but slightly better by comparison I think.

There's no room for a driving compartment; the forward hatch lifts up and you can stand a fig inside but that's about it. There's a larger grey "hatch" but it's entirely cosmetic. The overall intent seems to be a pretty good approximation of the real world vehicle, with play features worked into it (stud shooters) as well as creative liberties such as the turret. Can tell this will be the case with the other sets, am curious to see if the BTR and BMD do better for interior space (whenever Canada Post gets its act together anyway).

As a post-script here's a Sluban set from a few years ago with a familiar equipment sprue; the other one included would've been more fitting for the Stryker crew. Not sure why they didn't simply use it or another modern warfare selection, Sluban is usually pretty good about providing period-appropriate small arms. Not that I'm complaining, those UNSC guns are in a nice colour too.

Yeah its a shame that all the good quality brands seem to only produce fleshies. I don't really mind them but they are starting to outnumber my yellow figs. The plastic quality of crusaders was pretty shit as well but theres something very soulful about their appearance.

I've gotten some of those guys, the prints are pretty accurate to the real ones except the lion ones have gold not silver. I ended up buying the transparent torso stickers from brickstickershop and putting them on plain red Lego torsos, they blend in much better with my genuine lion knights. I found the black falcon stickers were a bit too transparent, not sure if that's just a mistake with the one I got or they're all like that.
