3D scan your toy and post the file here so others can print it.example:https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/castle-greyskull-d3918b7b17e54feb94cc7d9c8cc30e12https://sketchfab.com/3dScanVault
>>11261162Why and how? Not everyone has a device than can scan?
There are good applications for both Android and iOS that transform your cell phone into a scanner
>>11261162sure let me bust out the ole toy scanner real quick
this anon has the right of it >>11261174you can turn your phones camera into a 3d scanner with a proper app. it works byt taking mulitple pictures of a object from multiple angles to stitch together a model.there are STLs that you can print to facilitate this and print a structure to help you accomplish this.
You would have to disassemble all of your toys for the scan. Even then the joints don’t have the right tolerances with that resin and they will just snap.
>>11261291This. 3D scanning at this level without a proper scanner is basically a novelty and can produce models that you can use as reference when 3D modeling other parts, but as far as functional parts, it's kind of useless. Unless it's being used to scan and print super large and low detail things like simple bases, or large things like the castle in the OP where there are no connecting pieces or anything like that.
This dude scans a bunch of keshi figures, mostly Nintendo themed ones.https://x.com/KeshiCorner
>>11261174From what i know you need a special optical lense for that.>>11261274I have the feeling that it doesnt works that well with the pictures. When you need STLs or other extra things than it complicates that even further. >>11261373Probably easier since they are minifigurines.
>>11261373He uses a high quality dental scanner that's a few thousand dollars. That's how he can get such high quality and accurate scans of such small figures.
>>11261291>>11261329We've had this thread in the past many times. Some people dumbly assume that just because you can 3D print something it automatically puts it on the same level as an injection moulded figure.
>>11261418You can still make a very simple functional figures fully 3D printed without any breakage issues, but it would be simple ball/socket or simple socket and swivel joints using a combination of various resins to get softer flexible parts as well as harder parts. Nothing like the super articulated figures everyone here wants to create.

>>11261373Thanks for this, pure nostalgia trip. The quality of the scans are great, definitely gonna have to print a bunch
>>11261394>I have the feeling that it doesnt works that well with the pictures. It can do alright but you need hundreds of photos in a steady well light environment. A few shaky photos in some anon's bedroom won't produce anything decent. Some iPhones have Lidar support which would help but only really with larger toys.
>>11265377Most apps i looked into a year ago needed Lodar lenses. An anon pointed out that some apps are able to use photos, you still need alot of equipment.
>>11266777I mean Lidar.
>>11261162Been getting ready to make a thread for this on Christmas, like last year. Found some nice stuff.Found like two or three Castle Greyskull scans, including the one you posted, not sure how good they would be for printing. You'll notice in this one the front gate is open and you get no detail below. You'd probably have to pick the door from one of the closed models.>>11261274I wish it were that simple, so far got nothing properly. Also a lot of those apps have really limited uses per month, last time I checked.>>11261373This guy's stash is great. But it's a LOT of MB to download.>>11261291Looks like the printing is doable on filament, not sure how well it holds? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXeQfheTUTUFor some toylines like MotU, there are enough scanned limbs out there that maybe you can copypaste the joints if you already mess around with 3D.
>>11261373I like this guy's collection but those stl files are fucking huge.
>>11261398>>11261373What are the odds he works at a dental labor, maybe ows the labor and gets more for his buck by using it for his hobby.
>>11261170there are apps for that and there are pirate sites for the apps that aren't free even
>>11261162>>11266888It's up btw >>11274264
