Didn't see one in the catalog so I'll make a new one. Just finished putting my new toy room together after moving. I'm pretty happy with it, it's quite cozy to play games, watch movies, and play with toys in.Everyone else, post some displays.
>>11267058Here's some closeups of the actual toy displays
>>11267059The cabinets in the built in cabinets will be perfect for more display shelves once I take the double doors off. I have a ton of extra space in this new room.
>>11267061What do you think /toy/?
>>11267062>What do you think /toy/?If you insist on having so many figures out on display, get some risers for the figures at the back.
>>11267064Yeah, I definitely could use some risers and better lighting in some of the displays. Those are probably my next upgrade for the room.>>11267066I dunno, Less than 150lbs. Probably 130ish, although I've lost a little weight lately.
>>11267058Congrats on the move anon. I'd recognise that avengers shelf anywhere. You planning to wall mount your FF art boards this time?
>>11267062don't you feel weird gooning in front of all your toys?
>>11267075Probably somewhere else, the art doesn't fit at the top of that shelf anymore. Makes me glad I skipped the Haslab Giant Man, he wouldn't have fit.
>>11267079The doors are actually windowed so there isn't any fapping privacy in that room.
>displaying toysI keep mine in a filing cabinet and only take them out when nobody else is home. I don't want my kids to know I collect toys.
>>11267058It's a good amount of space with some nice shelving units and a good assortment of figures. I'm kinda jealous of the amount of space you have for display as my room is about half that size and has a lot less wallspace. Though I do have some suggestions.First off, as that other anon mentioned, get risers or flight stands. Especially for the detolf/glass cases, you have a lot of unused vertical space to better show off some figures. Perhaps even put some peg holes in the black furniture so you can plug stands directly into the walls to show off flying characters above the crowds. The Justice League/Avengers/X-men displays are a good amount of crowded, as while the top two have lots of figures they at least have space to pose and you can still see behind them. But the ones on the black shelf are way too crammed in there and it looks more storage then display. That said, and I'm sure it's got to be in your plans but, get rid of that brown shelf. It don't match the rest of the displays, looks super cheap and it's clearly already buckling under the weight of everything on it. Also, if possible, I would get rid of that carpet. Probably shoulda done it before installing everything, but that's just one big dust magnet. As for the crowds...those displays are way too cramped. I'd actually recommend keeping the doors on the built ins, use it as storage and limit the amount of figures on a shelf. >>11267089That's sad on so many levels. I honestly love when my kid plays with my toys, as that's exactly what toys are supposed to be used for. I even keep stuff like my bin of dinosaurs, older Toybiz figures or newer he-mans stuff on lower shelves to make it easier for her to reach. Though she seems to really like playing with my Classified Vamp, as she uses that as her Bluey family car.
>>11267058cool collection and display, i admire the passion in your toy collectinghowever if this was toy wars like >>11241532your collection would be wiped out instantly by a single Thanos or somethingthe strongest characters are the DBZ figures but they're incredibly susceptible to mind control. Any decent villain toy from an invading collection could easily make them fight each other, and wouldn't even have to invade, if they wanted to destroy you.i recommend you invest in a Thanos with Infinity Gauntlet or some true cosmic level threats. Adam Warlock is a step in the right direction but someone as savvy as yourself should do better. The genius of 100 Peter Parkers and Bruce Waynes honestly won't save you, and Reed Richards is the biggest fraud to ever grace the pages of fiction/folklore so he sure as shit won't help youi give your collection a 6/10, it would be cool for my collection to invade yours even though we'd slaughter you in less than 1 second, but your display 9/10 because the poses are all very tasteful
>>11267061>>11267062I agree that you should get rid of the brown likely particle board shelving (and this desk), because it looks out of place and I agree about the carpeting being a dust magnet. I assume this is a basement office. Otherwise, you're getting good advice but you shouldn't waste money you don't have. Wanting things to be perfect (to your own eyes) is okay, as a long term - when reasonable - project.
>>11267091no way slt has kids
>>11267058As an interior decorator from Czechoslovakia, this is kinda triggering. A lot of things to say, but I'll keep it short. Those brown wood table & shelves need to go. Replace them to match your black table & shelves, same design if possible.
>>11267058>>11267059very nice, very clean.i am always surprised when somebody has a very expensive and high quality collection, including the shelving and cabinets, but they never make use of risers or steps to elevate and show off the figures in the back. i feel like a lot of the figures land up hidden or disappeared from view. can also feel more crowded or crammed whereas with risers you can space them out better as well.
>>11267469>Those brown wood table & shelves need to goI say he should keep them. They are very American in a way
This are main tf shelf. My other two arent like this yet, still need some work.
>>11267086Cool makes sense. Neat new room anyway. Is is smaller than the old one? You gonna doing anything new for lighting?>Makes me glad I skipped the Haslab Giant Manyeah, I'm getting buyers remorse now. Also stupidly ordered 2 sentinels and aren't even displaying my 90s x-team anymore. One Piece really through a spanner in the works.

>>11267773I sold it to the devil in exchange for more toys.
>>11267059How did you transfer the detolfs to the new place? I'll be moving soon and I'm not sure what to do with mine.
>>11267817Just take them apart, wrap them carefully in bubblewrap and (this is the most important part) transport them yourself. DO NOT let a moving company handle them they will just break them.
>>11267817I had movers and they took the shelves out, wrapped the detolfs themselves in padding and plastic wrap and strategically placed them in the truck. Honestly, I was kind of nervous about moving them but the guys did a good job.
>>11267453>shouldn't waste money you don't have.As the guy who originally suggested getting rid of the brown shelves, I completely agree with this. Especially if this is your new long term home, you do those upgrades when you can afford em. >>11267747>>11267748That's a nice space, and those are gorgeous shelves. But is nothing else going in there or is that an entirely toy shelf dedicated room?>>11267828>>11267891The Duality of Man.
>>11267933>an entirely toy shelf dedicated room?Yep. That's the idea. I have a separate office for work and always just wanted a dedicated room I can display figures in. I still have space for more shelves, but I'm toying with the idea of a big centerpiece diorama, just can't settle on a theme or IP I want to dedicate to it.
>>11267469>interior decoratorjust say your a souless homosexual anon
>>11267754Seeing that Natsu makes me want figures from that series that aren't nendos.
>>11267960Could you post a close up of your Berserk display?
>>11268183Excuse the lighting on this one. It was a quick pic I took after getting schierke. I'll try and do a better one after I get isidro.
>>11268179Agreed. Still baffles me to this day how there aren't figures for Fairy Tail. Kodansha doesn't seem to be as good when it comes to licencing compared to Shueisha.I only collect Nendo's for things I really want full figures of but haven't got and are unlikely to get.
I have 3 shelves, but due to lack of time and seriously crippling bout of depression i only manage to keep my motu stuff halfway almost decent looking. Ideally id scab in extra shelves and add some lighting but since i plan to move next year im not gonna bother as these are just junk shelves from wm.
>>11267747>>11267748>no silver surfer even though it came with the haslab galactus>likes fantastic four AKA fantastic fraud, instead of the superior doctor doom>no thanos, let alone thanos with infinity gauntlet>no ultron, let alone what if ultron w/ infinity gauntletsuch a shame. the technical aspects of your display are so nice but it completely lacks power other than galactus. given there are so many superior powerful characters like ig thanos on the market for a very accessible price, this is a huge oversight.my official recommendation is to invest in at least one infinity gauntlet thanos, ultron what if with infinity gauntlet, or similar god-like character that goes well with your collectionhowever, the disrespect you demonstrate by not displaying silver surfer more prominently is nothing short of pathetic. the prominence of the Fantastic Fraud is disgusting. the lack of education here is almost beyond repair. if this toy collection was in latveria you'd be executed

>>11268773>The lighting is harshThe ceiling LEDs all have multiple setting. They are on the 6000k daylight setting currently, but can be switched all the way down to 3000k warm white. I may do that one day.

>>11267960Ah, living the dream then. More power to ya, I too wish to one day have an entire room dedicated to nothing but toys and play spaces. >>11268575>lack of time and seriously crippling bout of depressionOh I been there, still kinda am lol. I been "setting up" my toy room for near two years now and still have about a half dozen shelfs left blank because I just can't be assed to fill em up. But I've made more progress in the last few weeks then I have in months so that's helping to motivate me to hopefully finish before the end of the year. >>11268579>>11268663So it was cute the first time you made this post, but these two are just being lame and weird. >>11268718>>11268731I'll post mine if you two post yours. Kind of pointless to complain about lack of content when you could easily be contributing yourselves.
how do open shelf hoarders deal with dust?
>>11268999>Kind of pointless to complain about lack of content when you could easily be contributing yourselves.Irony
>>11269011there are several threads in the archive, most people deal with it by cleaning regularly, a few have all these complicated and ranging from slightly costly to absurd set-ups to minimize dust (which can make sense for other - health-wise - reasons) and a few people try stuff like those air blowers for PCs but that seems like it would just move dust.I just lift, sometimes repose, definitely move around and swap around, and clean and then put back down.
>>11269011OP here, I dust the shelves every few months. That involves taking all the figures from each one down so the shelf is bare, cleaning the shelf with Pledge, and then, if needed, blowing the dust off each figure with canned air for cleaning PCs like >>11269136 mentions. Yes, it's a very time consuming process. No, it isn't fun.
>>11268133He didn't say what he decorates the interior off ;)
>>11269054....you don't know what irony means do you? Please point out where I complained about lack of content?>>11269165Months? I feel like I have to dust every few days. Having mostly dark shelves doesn't really help and I really need to weatherproof my lone detolf, but my room just gets coated in dust constantly. Pic related is said detolf so other anon doesn't have an aneurysm or something. It's an old, blurry, already out dated pic, but currently the best that I got.

>>11269960Thanks! and thank you for the castle details. It's the 2004 Interactive Astro Boy by bandai, he's got a lot of really cool features but unfortunately, I cannot recommend him. He has broken in two places simply by standing on my shelf unmoved. whatever plastic he is made of has become extremely brittle. >>11271346Nta, but are you talking about his guyver art?
>>11271425yeah.Is it just a poster or something real?
>>11271327Thanks, I was trying to avoid overcrowding in the detolf and some layered displays really help with that. They also add a nice grippy surface for figures to stand, but most of em are using stands anyway. They also help hide any dust that sneaks into the cabinet. And no I didn't make em myself, I lack both the resources and ability to have em come out that nice. I got em from a shop called Would You Kindly Studios, guy seems to specialize in making Detolf specific dio pieces. A but pricey, but I managed to grab two of em on deep discount and I'm happy with what I paid. One of em even came with a wall piece that I use as a backdrop for pics sometimes. Still working on the rest of my shelves, but I got most of my main display in a good state. Still need to put some troops around the Roboskull mk and then I can start working on that last shelf. All the horses on it are temporary as I need room on my desk to organize the figures I'm actually gonna put up there. That one will take a bit of time to finish off though, pulling out the Legions is not an easy project at this point. >>11271766The Guyver is a classic manga/anime series from way back in the late 80s/early 90s. It was one of those series that gave anime it's "edgy violent gorefest" stereotype back in the day.
>>11272247What's the red skull on the middle left from that looks badass!
>>11272331That's the Roboskull Mk II from the Skullitron Kickstarter. Basically it's a modern update of the old UK Red Shadows Roboskull from their Action Force toyline. It's a beast of a starship that barely fits on the shelf and it's not even standing the way it's supposed to. It fits two 1:18 figures or one 1:12, but I plan to use it for my 1:18 guys and have a small team of Red Shadow Jungle Wolves (from the same Kickstarter) and a squad of Joytoy Skeleton Force troopers to hang around it. But I honestly don't know if I'll be able to fit two teams around this thing, it's way bigger then I expected it to be.

I just keep rearranging my spider shelf because i don't really like it and I'm kind of into the Spiderverse stuff now.Its such a deep shelf that i don't know how much risers will help, but I also fear dynamically posing stuff because the fuckers love to just tumble over and domino effect everything. Had to use museum glue to hold down Pavitr and Punk
>>11272851That is a very awesome throne, but is he supposed to be sitting? Looks like he's hovering over it. Where did you get it?Also is that helmet and cape custom?

>>11273189This is an alt helmet for the boxset, the other was from the dx release.
>>11273012A dynamic pose shouldn't topple with the stand.
>>11272863Thanks, I think lol. Though rest assured, I'm the last person to say I have good taste, I have way more figures all stored away and a bunch more displays crammed into my room I haven't gotten good pics of yet. >>11273012A deep shelf is the best thing for risers. Hell, maybe even get some actual backdrop pieces as those always fill up space and bring life to a display. And I second just using stands, even cheap ones off amazon will do wonders for a figure's stability in dynamic poses. Once you find a good balance, nothing short of directly knocking into em should cause em to fall.
I am looking to display boxed toys as a kind of wall art. Specifically JoyToy Warhammer. They don't stack well as Mcfarlane's so I am looking for cheap shelf ideas and something to secure them
