honestly it's due to a severely shit economy even in mostly prosperous countries. You have to diversify your portfolio so you have an infinite number of passive incomes or assets to liquidate in the future. Everything has become more commodified because of the internet people generate revenue with the views of
>LOOK AT THE NEW SET I GOT WHICH I WILL NOT OPEN AND SELL 8 YEARS FROM NOW
and
>SPECULATING ON WHICH OBSCURE TRANSFORMER WILL GET PORN OF IT SO WE CAN FLIP 8 DOLLARS INTO 60 5 YEARS FROM NOW!
>>11269655
you mean hustle culture. it's man shit is rough out here. toys are really becoming luxury items and keep getting shittier and cheaper because the only people who buy them are hobbyists at the 50$ premium toys or mexican families buying dollar plus sonic and mario movie toys the year after they go into discount stores.

The Lego market will collapse because everyone is- and has been- on it for several years. Older things worth money will continue to hold value and slightly increase, but anyone buying lots of new sets and hoarding them in the past several years is going to be sorely disappointed. The majority of the market is just other investor/reseller types, and once you all find out that you're selling to each other it will collapse. Theres still a little money to be had here, but viewing this as something that will be lucrative in 5-10 years is a poor one.

What even is Lego investing? Do you just horde the boxes? Can't you just get all the piece separately and pull up the directions online?
>>
>>11269725
Correct. Also, the added costs of storage, listing, inventory management, shipping, and time invested and you’re lucky to break even.

Retardation
>>11267571
This is so fucking stupid, lego is a relatively good return on investment if you're a kid who got to play with a cool toy then later sold it for profit after sorting it and selling it as an adult. The margins for lego "investment" are absolutely horrible considering the space it takes up physically and the time it takes before you can get a decent return on investment. Not to mention that any collectible speculation market is destroyed as soon as it becomes a cultural phenomenon, it's already happening with lego, too many people buy the products and so they'll never be valuable because they'll never be rare. There are so many other things to speculate on in the world that are much better and more profitable.
That being said, these guys on youtube are grifting and using excitement and zeal in investment from their delusional viewers to make their real revenue.

Gambling is addictive and retards get obsessed with the promise of money for nothing, and it's not that hard to make money but they want to do it without any mental effort either
>>
>>11269651
far too many stupid white boys who want to be elon without putting in the work?
they should really want to be a different sort of imbecile like beast or joe rogan and want to get rich that way, since they can't be worse and stupider hacks than those two (and others of their sort) idiots - one of whom just had luck.
>>
>>11267571
The only "investing" I do with Lego is getting a set, knowing in 5 years I'll get my money back for it by only selling the minifigs, and then spend it on another set. I've repeated this process for a while now So I've made it a self sustaining hobby. But doing anything beyond that is fucking retarded.

Nothing more disgusting than an individual doing the onions grin.
A pox on them all
