This is the thread for opening our gifts and discussing anything you want to suggest or change for next year. Please take pictures of your gift!If your gift arrives late (especially if you're involved in the postal strike situation) and the thread doesn't last long enough for your gift to arrive you can email me pictures of your gift any time and I'll pass them along, it doesn't matter how late it is, I'll be around. My email: toysecretsanta2024@gmail.comFAQ: https://pastebin.com/jA4SUZUQPrevious: >>11247251
>>11273716Opened my gifts today since I normally do on Christmas Eve, lots of love and thanks to my Santa for the ALFs! They got me a lego dnd figure too but I forgot to take a picture before I opened it.
>>11273724These two are awesome, I already have the first SDCC ALF so I knew what to expect but all the accessories are fun and I plan to use them with my other figures too. Thanks again to my santa and to Santaman for hosting Secret Santa every year.Hope everyone here has a merry Christmas.
>>11273727Neca's Alf is the funnest thing in so long
>>11273731They're fun, I want to get that "Totally 80s" one when it comes out too
>>11273724Bro you left some one's address on that Alf
>>11273734That address is fictional, the Tanner family is the family that ALF lives with in the TV series.
My box from Mr. Nezumiiro, already had Scourge, but I shipped him off to a friend to repaint him into Laser Magnus. Otherwise all the other stuff was really nice, thanks anon!
>>11273716Santaman, thank you for being patient and responsive, and for all your work this year, I hope you got some nice stuff yourself and you and yours have a great holiday and wonderful 2025. have to run to a meeting downtown in an hour and then plan to treat myself to a nice meal with my old neighbor (or by myself if he's being unsociable) and do some last minute shopping. But I will take pictures and post my stuff this evening and take part later today and tomorrow.I hope everyone who celebrates the Eve, like I do, has a nice evening and everyone enjoys the holidays tomorrow and has a great New Year!
Merry Christmas Eve Melb anon, Today I went to pick up the package at the post office, I arrived just as it was closing time. I love the wrapping paper you chose and the stickers are very cute.Thank you very much for the gifts, I will open them tomorrow for Christmas.
I got grinched. Last time I participate in this shit. Do your fucking job, santa-anon.
M from PA really spoiled me this year! Lots of gifts and the candy is really great! It’s like a Charleston chew mixed with like a payday bar.
>>11273947You really went above and beyond man. I really appreciate everything. I hope you have a wonderful holiday, and the new year treats you well! Merry Christmas buddy!
>>11273914That's another variant they should do, Christmas ALF.>>11273917What was inside the hollow earth crystal?>>11273937That Ultraman wrapping paper is awesome.
>>11273734The Tanner family is getting vanned
>>11273979I got him packed away but a little Skar King. Thinking about printing out a little picture of my friend and putting it in there as a gag gift lol
>>11273945Why you lyin anon>>11273947
>>11273734Bro totally failed the Alf lore check
>>11273949Neat. Seen Joe in reaction type images and never knew it was a marvel character or related to the hulk.
M from PA here...got the package from TX Anon the other day. You really spoiled me! Just posting the presents and candy you sent. WOW...I will open everything on Christmas morn and post pics then! Thank you SO MUCH!
>>11274027you got me, i haven't seen the show since i was a kidI remember him being from melmac and him wanting to eat the cat and his name stood for alien life form and them hiding from the government. but yeah i failed hard today lol
>>11274206Not that anon but the one who posted the original image, I just assumed you were doing a bit lol
>>11274027There's actual lore?
>>11273734Posts like this remind me that I'm old.
I opened my gifts earlier today because I am probably going to be gone all day tomorrow, but I wanted to check in and let my Santa from CA know. Thanks a ton! These are awesome. Helps me fill a few holes in my DB Figuarts collection. I kind of guessed one of them was a Figuarts just by the shape and size of the box, but you threw me off by wrapping two of them together (which was a nice surprise.) From the shape and size of the box, I was expecting it was going to be a Frieren Nendo, since I listed Frieren stuff, so I was glad that there was a surprise in there I wasn't able to guess. Also, enjoyed the snacks and little trinkets in the stocking, but the snacks are long gone, since I ate them within the first few days after everything arrived. Thanks again Santa! You've made this a great Christmas, and I hope you had/have a good one as well!
I love these anon! The 30 Minute Sister was a total surprise, I've always been curious about these kits but never actually picked one up. Depending on how that build goes you may have started a new addiction ;)The stands and gun sets were totally unexpected and love them. Can never have enough of those sorts of items. The gag gift of King Dice was also a huge hit - I lowkey love cuphead and the troll face wrapped around it really made me laugh.I'll try to take some fun photos to add to the thread for you!Thank you so much for all of it!
>>11274142That is an "oh lawd he comin" tier chonky boi. What is his name?
>>11274308So that Warhammer by Joy Toy is an actual articulating figure? You learn something new every day.
Buffalo-anon I got your stuff! Can't wait to see it tomorrow- the blankie however, has already been claimed by the cat!
>>11273724Had to cut the tips off the boxes to make sure they didn't poke through! Sorry! Also sorry I couldn't get the Dragonborn, eagle boy was as close as I could get to the Dragon! If you haven't already, I'd recommend grabbing the Minifig Scam app. Helps finding the right lil funny fellas.Your Rocker ALF came before mine, so I was staring longingly at it before it got wrapped in Spongebob.
>>11274351Happy to see that everything made it to you safely.
>>11274351buffalo?
>>11274395No worries, I didn't have the bird guy either and he was another I wanted so I'm happy.Thank you for staying strong and not opening ALF lol I hope you have a great Christmas and thank you once again for the gifts!
>9 hours into christmas>anon hasn't posted pictures of giftsIt's all over.
Thank you for the gifts, Texas-anon. There’s some interesting stuff here that I never would have thought to buy for myself. I tried Coup with a few friends and it was definitely fun for a few games and the deception aspect was humorous. Also, I don’t normally read comics, but this series you gave me seems very unique, I plan on giving the first issue a try soon.I’m also not really into DBZ but, my little brother is into DBS rn so I gave him the Goku figure, he seems to like it, maybe you’ll get him into figures as a result lol. Lastly, thank you very much for Mace Windu, I’ve wanted him for awhile and my prequel collection is nearly complete now! Merry Christmas, anons.
It’s present opening time!
MERRY CHRISTMAS ANONS! Wow..TX Anon...you really spoiled me!! The dark chocolate Lindor is gonna go first! I dunno what to say. You hit the nail on the head here, totally floored and so happy! That werewolf will terrorize so many of my figures! Skeletons and Godzilla, so awesome! I wish you and EVERYONE here a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
Thank you so much anon, your gift was great!Love how well Mega and Chase fit together as a blue robots fighting for justice team. Mega is especially great, super fun to pose, he’ll be my work desk buddy for the foreseeable future. And the comic was a really cool surprise! I’ve actually got a modest comic collection even with some Mega Man ones, but this one I didn’t own yet.(Also the little stickers on the wrapping were really cute)
Obligatory crossover fight between the heroes because of a misunderstanding
Friends again!
Thank you Santa Man for AGAIN herding cats and making Christmases for all of us so much better! CHEERS!
>>11274728buffalo?
Once again here is the presents my anon got me, I didn't open them till today!
>>11266546And here it is all unwrapped. Great choices on the hexa gears, anon. And the combat teddy is great because I also have the Shiromo moderoid so now I just need some zombie mini figs and a barn and I can set up a scene for that episode. And you went above and beyond with the snacks. You've got kitkat flavors I haven't tried before in here. The chestnut one looks tasty. Happy holidays and thanks again!
>>11274676What are you talking about, it's only 7 hours!
>>11274799I love that I finally got Bond for my Spy Family Nendo collection, though I used other Spy Family figures i had close by for the picture. I didn't wanna dig out the Anya, Yor, & Loid Nendo's I have deep in my closet for the pictures. I don't know who Megaera from Hades is, but none the less got another Nendo to add to my collection. My roommate took the socks, as she loves collection socks. As for the 3rd party Transformer, other then "Wind Girl" I have no idea who she is, but she seems to be very intrigate, I'm not sure if she can Transform or not as there was no instructions in the box at all! She gives the impression she can transform but at the same time she doesn't. I've never been a transformer guy so I don't know much about it. I can't even figure out the stand, lol. Lots of weapons and different hands and faceplates though, so super customizable and seems expensive not to mention fragil. Anyway Thank you Anon for my gifts, This was fun and this most likely is my last year participating, I did manage to pass on the White Elephant Gift this year, whether my anon posts it along with their gifts and passes it on next year is a toss-up. Last year would have been my last year doing this but I got the White Elephant gift and had to pass it on to keep tradition alive.Merry Christmas /toy/! Hope you have a great one and a Happy New year as well!
>>11274715Happy holidays. anon.My assignment also sent me comic books and I am definitely a long time reader, I forget if I got that across in what I wrote but I certainly didn't ASK for anything like that or books, because I stopped collecting or wanting to PHYSICALLY own comic books when I moved to the part of the country I am in today because my first living space was a tiny studio and I barely had room for really necessary crap!(Also why I didn't really start collecting toys until I moved early last year).BUT at least it looks like your assignment sent you a complete story, or the equivalent of a completed finish season if it was say a TV show. And comics are definitely things you can pass on.Cheers!>>11274727Neat looking haul, and lucky you to be so pleased. If I had gotten you, I wouldn't have had any idea where to look or what to get! I could probably have made some good guesses and gotten some Godzilla stuff but I would have been really stressed that i was getting something you already had or something that wasn't quite what you wanted/needed.Cheers!
Sitting on edge waiting for my anon to post.>>11274727Woah awesome haul! Werewolves, skeletons, godzilla... they'd make for a cool team.>>11274728Yo I got that Mega Man, its great!>>11274811Damn I want thay Molcar >>11274820Good to see you got treated well this year and it's sad to see you go, have a wonderful Christmas Zoysite!
Just opened everything up, and my Christmas has officially been made. The little stuff like the Kaixa keychain, Kirby stuff and pocket socks put a smile on my face.My collection of Christmas Miku figures from /toy/ has increased yet again, which is always nice. The Buster Doll would've been good enough, but the Kotobukiya store exclusive hair parts threw me for a loop. And from the smaller box I was only expecting more candy or something, but lolno it was FIGUARTS RISING HOPPER THANK YOU SO MUCHHell, even the card is relevant to my interests! You outdid yourself, mystery anon. I hope your Santa spoiled you twice as much as you did me.
>>11274872Very nice, great that your assignment made you happy.Cheers!>>11274811Those look as nice unwrapped, and what a haul in snack, I think I went overboard on that myself for my assignment. Again, not sure i would have been able to make you as happy since no idea what Hexa Gears even is/means, without loads of research! So you lucked out.Cheers!>>11274820Sorry to see anyone go as well, those look nice and especially the cute little feeding bowl for that dog. My assignment also wanted something from that franchise and I hopefully got them some secondary treats they do not already have.Cheers!>>11274728>>11274733>>11274735Very cute.Mega is one of the few animes or manga that has toys that I am familiar with (the only other anime I've really spent any time on is Ito horror and while I imagine that Japan has collectible related to his stuff, I doubt I'd want any of those toys!)I'll really need to consider spending some time assembly one of the things I got when I finally get my s&^% together to post some pictures.Cheers!###Hope everyone is having an excellent day, I have to bake something for my neighbors, so I will try to pop back in a few.
Buffalo-anon, you KILLED IT! Thanks so much for everything! The Knight of Skyfog was on my shortlist, I can't wait to build it!
>>11274770aren't we all a bit buffalo?
Thank you anon the I have some kits for that Goku figure that I didn't want to put on my official one. Oh and as of this post yeah half those snacks are gone lol, freeze dried candy is delicious very happy and a merry Christmas to you.
>>11274811I am glad you like what i picked anon. I admittedly didn't know much about what you asked for but i tried to find good stuff. Words cannot describe how much I wanted to open those KitKat and try some lol. I was like if I put them in all in a bigger bag anon will never know. But I held the course and shipped them all whole. I always give the goat as a ss calling card. It's the ctg mascot but it'll probably be the last one I give out. I hope his screams make you smile.
I hope my anon liked his gifts...
>>11274727>>11274142Very happy to hear and see that you got your gift before Christmas I think I was the last to ship lol. Very happy you like them and Merry Christmas to you and everyone
When my santa mentioned on his card that there was a theme, he did not disappoint! Thank you so much I forgot to take a pic of them in box I was a little too excited. Merry Christmas!
Woo! Christmas Day ans time to start unwrapping!
>>11274820If I recall correctly the transformer box or something somewhere on it has a QR to scan for instructions. I could be wrong. She for sure does not have a manual in box though. I don't know if you have forayed into 3rd party transformers ever before, but watching a video about the figure is always best anyways - instructions on these things are always made by half blind chinamen.>>11275010>>11274715>>11274289So much dragonball this year. Specifically though >>11275010 what are those chairs in that picture? I wanna see the full box. I'm interested for myself lol.
>>11275115Nope, I know next to nothing about Transformers to be honest. Even less so about 3rd party Transformers. I'm more into Nendo's then anything.
>>11275085Merry Christmas to you too, anon! I'm really glad that you like them. I'm not a transformers guy, but Soundwave has a really cool gimmick with his mini-decepticon tape guys. He looks really cool with all of his boys.
Thanks Santa Monica anon. Hope you got a good haul too.
>>11274820>>11275122Hey Zoysite! I'm glad you enjoy the gifts!I got the Hades nendo because it was a monster girl lol. I know not much about the source material but it looked like a pretty badass character and vaguely fit the theme of your interests.I really wanted to get you the spider nendo from your wishlist but was having hell of a time finding one - I kept seeing ones for like $200 or $60, but the $60 were all sourced from China which seemed sus as hell, and the others were from Japan via Ebay, and seemed used :/. I know nothing about nendoroids but that one seemed like a bootleg situation so I steered clear. The Wind Girl is my fav female transformer character - It's the character Windblade. The figure may seem fragile but most of her joints are diecast - so she should be pretty durable. This was a duplicate I had in my closet for years because I accidentally purchased two. The bottom of the box has two QR codes like >>11275115 said. one for bilibili and one for youtube instructions. All of her swords can attach to her backpack and display nice.I know transformers aren't your thing - but it's a nice waifu-esque action figure minimally, so I hope you enjoy it for that at least even if you don't ever transform it.Merry Christmas!
>>11275063buffalo?
>>11275105Kaijus, and Waifus, and forbidden ones! Oh My! Hot damn you went above and beyond! Love the MMS Line and have been eyeing Mecha Ghidorah for a while! And super stoked to have TFO SS Megatron now that a 3rd party upgrade kit is coming. And the Exodia was honestly a hail mary incase you just wanted to get one gift! Saved the MM on the wrapping paper and gonna laminate them to be Christmas decorations next year. Merry Christmas!
>>11275162gimme dat Rose
Doesn't look like any anon will be posting before the end of the day, I just hope they enjoyed themselves.
Riddler-Anon. I will 100% post your stuff, promise! Just posting to make sure you don't think I forgot.
I didn't include the Tumbler (or 8-ball because I'd put it on my keys at that point) because I hadn't opened it at the time of taking but...Holy shit. I didn't expect anywhere near this amount of love from a random internet stranger. Makes my ALF gifts feel like cheap nicknacks compared to the love you've shown me. Thank you.
>>11275196Some people don't have time to post until the day after. 30 people signed up. So like a little less than 10 more people need to post I think? Don't know about Canada.
>>11275256Haha don't worry about it I love the ALF stuff (I'm surprised we got each other, normally it's round-robin).I'm very happy I was able to find those Riddler trophies and bat gadgets for you since you asked about them specifically, and I'm glad to see that the etch-e-sketch and troll seem to scale with McFarlane figured.Merry Christmas!
>>11274915Very nice, excellent to be happy.Cheers>>11275002 possibly maybe>>11275010Very nice, and excellent selection of snacks!Cheers!>>11275085Very transformative! So no snacks or already eaten?Cheers!
>>11275256>that desk
Thank you for the gifts, Melb Anon. I didn’t expect to find two presents inside the Ultraman-themed gift wrap—it was such a pleasant surprise! You really put a lot of thought into these gifts and the sweets. I shared the chocolates with my family, and we all enjoyed them. I spent the afternoon assembling the EXM-E7f, which is why I took a bit longer to reply. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas!
>>11275328They’re now the best of friends.
>>11275256I like that Bugs/Bat I got the WB100 Bugs/Supes for myself when it went down to half-off at the Toys R Us webstore at the Macy's site. It's sad they don't seem to be adding many NEW items of that type, hopefully it will get spun off into it's own thing. What is that Batman head or whatever that is near the bottom.Cheers!>>11275302 where's yours?>>11275328>>11275359Very nice, I have to assemble my gift as well and should get on with that.Cheers!
Muraco is INDEED a chunky boy!!
>>11273937>>11275328Wooh! Glad they arrived just in time! Hopefully I chose the ones you were after and you and your family had a wonderful Christmas!
Thank you Germany Anon! The Sanrio figs are super cute - didn't get a double either, bless! Usually I am cursed for any kind of blind boxes. Thank you for the Tama as well, I actually don't have this color shell either surprisingly, I will be sure to look after Kurt III and he will join his brothers and sisters in the Tama hoard cabinet. Merry Christmas!
>>11275429Awesome, it arrived on time! Enjoy the Baumkuchen :)
I got delayed in posting my gifts, but Anon I have to say you hit it out of the park. I was excited about the Optimus when I opened the gifts last week. I'm ecstatic after seeing the rest.I don't have any of these and I was planning to buy the Hyper Gyanko off Gundam Planet this weekend. Merry Christmas!
>>11275010I'm glad you liked it so much. I noticed when I got your list, that you sent me that Exodia model last year that I really enjoyed so I wanted to make sure you got exactly what you asked for.
>>11275135You are welcome. I hope you are happy with the one WL item you received, the rest were all just attempts to get you something I hope you didn't have from your franchise choices, even if I knew people don't necessarily things like hot wheels even if they want something else Mario Kart. I know some of them were NEW so I am certain you didn't have them. I didn't know about Transformers to get you even some of the small things that were suggested on the TF General here and the dreaded R place to even try to get you that. And I am glad you liked the treats, especially that big bag of the Kirby patties and the two candy canes full of those: >>11262621You had previously posted the other small toys, and I'm glad the Grenger clippy and other stuff you posted in the previous thread: >>11263963 were all things you were liking, I assumed that meant the Kirby and Pusheen, I was trying to find some stickers or pins, that was all meant to be stocking stuffer stuff, as I mentioned, and even went to the one anime store we have in Culver City but no such luck. I guess next year, if I end up doing this, and get another anime person, I will finally have to hit that one storefront in the produce district in Downtown Los Angeles.Happy holidays, I hope you had a relaxing and enjoyable day!
And finally, and apologies to my Secret Santa in Louisiana, but I had thanked him and acknowledge the receipt of the box from him on the 14th here, with this posted picture of his wrapped stuff: >>11264348Anon was kind enough to include some Comic Con promo material related to DC, which is one of main interests, some comic books (which I do read, I just no longer collect them as physicals, and a nifty book that I really enjoyed paging through of the first 25 years worth of covers from Action Comics. He also got me one of the Super 7 Iron Giants, which coincidentally I also received another Giant from my /co/ Cheer giftee: >>146898955 and will probably buy a 1 or 2 more from BBTS or Entertainment Earth this weekend, since I wanted them to army build. Coincidentally, I also got the "S" shield version from someone and another 5POA today in person.Anon also gave me another thing I asked for, one of those Micro LEGO set, which I appreciated, and putting these 80 pieces together (especially as I had to go elsewhere for the privacy and space to assemble it) is my excuse for it taking me until midnight to post this photo. The DC Direct Hawkman also required some assembly and this was something else I would have eventually tried to search for and find for myself, so I appreciate my gifter doing so. I know it was a pain to get my wish list since I collect DC but really do not like the toys being made by the current license holder.Happy holidays!
Thank you so much Cologne anon, these are awesome! Especially love the goatee sideburns clone and the little Christmas blood angel buddy.Merry Christmas everyone!
>>11274728what are your treats? some of those look like meat?also what is the little toy on the far bottom right, in front of the, what? gift bag? card?
>>11275487Very nice selection, good that you felt you were well-matched with someone who understood your collecting hobby, that seemed liked the hardest part of this assignment unless one liked the same franchises/collectibles.Cheers!>>11275429Very nice, particularly the foreign treats. I hope to possibly get that some day.Cheers and bumping for the tardy toy disclosures!
>>11275429What was in the blind boxes?
>>11275567It's mexican candy, made from corn, burned milk, nuts, or chocolate
>>11275506Glad you like em, anon!
>>11275882ah thank you.the one on the left looked like a slice of ham, the one with the number 2, but I see what you mean about the other two.and your little gift on the far right? that was just some unknown Mexican craft that we'll need to get your assignment to respond as to what it is? assume no box or package?
>>11275920NP. I'm probably going to turn one of your praline snacks into a topping for cookies for a party this weekend but I doubt the thread will still be around so I'll try to remember to post those next year! Unfortunately, eating it on it's own is a bit too much sugar for me. And I don't think I could take a small bite and not want to polish it off.Cheers.
>>11275849
>>11274824Yeah, it's a complete story, very highly regarded apparently. if nothing else my local lending library will make good use of them when I'm done.>>11275115It was surprise to me as well but I gave it to my brother since I don't collect those and he's been over the moon with it so far.
>>11275487Your wishlist was pretty broad, so I just grabbed Gyanko because I thought she looked neat and the Revival is interesting because it's an homage to the grand dad of Gunpla. Fun fact: the Gyanko and Rowlet came from my local hobby shop which has been around for over 50 years. prices are on par to retail and they have frequent sales.
>>11276421I have a puzzle store near me that carries some toys, so that's neat. I wish the hobby shops carried toys, they do but more things like barn and farm animals or dinos.
LouisiAnon reporting in. Really enjoying this Deadpool figure! Thanks MinnesotAnon!
alright buddy-boy, you lured me over to your side and I don't see any cookies. I was promised cookies!! Any last words?
pizza time
Mr. Dobalina Mr. Bob Dobalina
>>11276483>>11276484>>11276486>>11276487Glad you enjoyed the set! I don't really collect MLs much anymore, but I was actually tempted to get that set myself. The Deadpool figure looks pretty fun.
Man, this seems like fun. I definitely need to get in on Secret Santa here at some point.
>>11274872Merry Christmas buddy!I'm glad you liked it!Not gonna lie, I'm probably gonna buy a Buster Doll for myself, they're cute as hell>>11276487A Del the Funky Homosapien reference? Nice
>>11276486I really wished some manufacturer would separately make pizza and other food that 6"-7" figures could hold. That's what I want for NEXT year's SS.
Here's all the stuff that my Santa sent me, minus a bunch of the snacks which have already been eaten.Everything's super cute, including the Sakuya figure which was waaaay cuter than its packaging indicated.Thank you so much, and I hope your Christmas was a merry one too!
>>11276788I'm super happy you enjoyed everything! I saw the doll clothes while exploring an antique shop and thought it would be a funny little add on. HahaThank you so much, Santa for everything it was awesome! And I've been checking out that sanrio deck for a while. I also got some chocolate, gummies, and trail mix but I ate them before Christmas haha
>>11276731There are some cool sets at Five Below that kiiinda scale well with Legends and Black Series. Worth checking out to see. I grabbed the Grill, Fridge, and Sushi sets, but I havent taken any pictures and they are packed away now
>>11275939That candy that looks like ham is an "Oblea", it is a candy that consists of a wafer sandwich with a "cajeta" filling (cajeta is a candy made from milk). >the little toy on the far bottom righta lego mini fig from DnD?
>>11277019>Five BelowThanks, hadn't heard of it, and the nearest stores to me are 10 miles or more away (and not in any areas I normally travel to/through/by) but there's a store in Glendale, which has a movie theater I hit with friends ever so often so I can go check it out then. >>11277139I went to school in Tucson, so I actually know what cajeta is, and I've had it, but that was ages ago when I was in college. And thanks; I got a LEGO as part of my SS so I suppose I should make an effort to go hit up the brick site that was recommended to me on the gen here.>>11276830That clothes look hysterical and I like that puzzle you got, I picked up some cheap puzzles but decided against throwing those in to a stocking for my assignment but maybe next year.
>>11277550I would look up Re-Ment. They make tons of little accessory sets with food items and other accessories. The sets themselves are a little weird, since the food scales really well with 1/12 figures, but often times there's also furniture in the sets that are a bit too small for 1/12. Probably more along the lines of 1/18.I think there are also a lot of little domestic blind bags/boxes/packs that have different food items. You can also go into craft stores and find little food items and other accessories. I think they're more meant for dolls, but they work perfectly well for 1/12 figures too.
>>11277554>Re-MentI did see that the anime/weeb toy store I hit for my assignment sold some stuff but not much, I didn't see anything that appealed or it was overpriced for what it was that I thought I could use. I need to go to the area of my county where the toy district is since apparently there is a Japanese store there that sells many imports. Thanks again for the suggestion. This is the kind of thing I like about /toys/ but it's not as common as it should be. I've seen plenty of things like food and snacks for the 12" scale figures, especially on eBay and Amazon, and the Asian sites, but nothing for 6"/7" - I would mainly like some pizza slices and other street-cart type food for Spider-Man, but since I also collect various Flash family figures, anything I can turn into food for them would be great. Also, it's just fun to have the diorama, the people who do those arcade threads have put anime figures, transformers, GI Joes, etc., and even mixed up a bunch so it's all very possible.
>>11275391>What is that Batman head or whatever that is near the bottom.NTA but I'm pretty sure that's one of those TUBBZ figures, little rubber ducks dressed up as pop culture characters
>>11276421I'm glad you got a long running hobby shop. They keep becoming harder to come by. I'm going to be building those kits when my friends come over for a gunpla build night. Thanks again.
>>11276487Did you make that swastika yourself with paint or is there a sticker set
>>11278229I work in printing and I cut it out of vinyl
>>11278229you can easily find plain sticker paper and do that yourself but plain sticker paper is fairly thin, there are several heavy duty versions that you can probably get from a print shop in whatever passes for your financial district, you can try Office Depot or Staples first. I actually think the Hydra symbol would have sufficed.
>>11278338Hydra is just like rebranded nazis in marvel right? It would match the one on his arm band
>>11277951Six dollars a piece for those on etsy? Seems expensive
>>11273716A little bummed i didn't plan to participate this year, if i continue making good money hopefully in 2025 I'll participate. Looks like y'all had a grand haul.
>>11278347Hydra is it's own thing and it's not just an MCU movie thing that in the comics, Red Skull considered himself superior. And even then, there's a bunch of retcons that it starts with some aliens yadda yadda, and that they are essentially terrorists who want world domination, with no real relationship to 1940s National Socialist political agenda. And yeah, it also matches the briefcase Bob has here >>11276487 although I don't really know Bob's history enough to know why he would or should have a briefcase?>>11278406Yeah, I think some are cheaper, and something like that, I could make myself with parchment paper, access to a color copier, and some basic graphic design skills. Like making your own copy of the Bugle or the Daily Planet or some such. The main problem would be a straw and, I had to admit, the lid would be kinda hard to make it look good, I've tried doing other stuff and something that matches 'clear' plastic is harder than you would think.
>>11278409>>11276527Just remember, OP has a VERY (one week?) short sign up window in early November, to participate. You need to remember to LOOK for the first thread for the sign up info right after Halloween.
moth anon....I'm glad you at least posted that you got the gift. I hope you're recovering from your surgery well.
>Buffalo anon drove to give my gift and Santa helped us communicate, both of them really going out of the way for meIs Bluey good for you?
I have absolutely no idea what this thing is.It'll have a treasured spot on the desk, however.
>>11279691Buffalo has been redeemed and the Canadian postal delay has been defeated.
>>11279693Chiikawa, it's a cartoon
>>>>>>>>>>You really fucking pulled through anon, thank you. I missed this fucker like five times, now I don't have to worry about it, ever!I need to go back to being unconscious, but the very SECOND I wake up, Master Gundam is going to get built, thank you.
>>11279695>the very second I see him, I started going "Buffalo?"Thank you again for middlemanning the contact stuff though, especially in the late and early hours>>11279697You're a cartoon
>>11279706I sent an email to buffalo anon as well but how did the other package exchange go? If it was passed along then I'll just wait for an update from him.
>>11279691buffalo?
>>11279715I gave it to him, you have to send him the address though>>11280019Buffalo?
>>11279695>>11279715So has everyone whose been gifted reported in? Are we essentially done with the thread?~And to everyone else, Happy New Years!
>>11280859One gift still needs to be shipped now that the canadian postal strike delay has been dealt with. And then we're done.
>>11278982Yeah i was able to participate two years ago, didn't get a good haul, and decided to participate in a different one. If I plan for it next year I can try to participate in both. Moreso this one here. I get the one guy wasn't in a great financial place but I just felt jipped then. Barely decorated for XMas either. If I had secret Santa hauls to look forward to, might be good inspiration.
>>11281124It has been said time and time again, but you really shouldn't look at it with the expectation that you're going to make out like a bandit. If that's your expectation, it really is better to just not participate. The point is really the giving, and you should just go in with the expectation that you could very well end up getting someone who can only afford the required amount. Personally, I've gotten really generous anons, and anons who have done right around the minimum. But my opinion is probably a little skewed, since the person who got me the minimum also hand made me some artwork which I probably appreciated more than any of the other gifts I've ever received.I guess what I am saying is that for me personally, the surprise is best part about doing this, and that's probably how most everyone else feels too.
>>11280859Still waiting on my anon to post what I got them, they got them at least.
>>11281124I'm sure I could say that I didn't get a 'great' haul in that everything that I got were things I could have easily bought for myself. I suspect, if not this year, over the years folks have gotten things that they didn't want. That said, I agree with this sentiment: >>11281178I do agree that getting stuff is appreciated and does make you more inclined and more interested in the holiday. While I had a lot of socializing and stuff to do the month of November, other than a party at my building, with new neighbors that I really barely know, and which barely lasted an hour even though the catered food was really good (not holiday, which was also nice, I had enough roast turkey to last me for the next 5 months). >>11281384Yeah hopefully they will post, last year when I lurked, that was one of the funnest parts of this thread. Especially for all the franchises and interests that are totally new to me.
>>11281384buffalo?
>>11282207Sarasota
>>11281124Buy yourself the gifts you want. Think of joining the /toy/ santa as an opportunity to make somebody's Christmas extra special. It's much better when people do that I think.
>>11282926>>11281178while i agree with these two sentiments, i dont think you should sign up if you struggle with money in general. no broke niggas allowed i say.
>>11283075I just regifted the things I got this year that I didn’t like, which was almost everything lol. You just gotta realize it’s about the thought that counts more than how much anons spends. I don’t care if you only spend the minimum as long as you put some thought into it is my thing.
>>11283193That just means that there was a problem with your wish list or a problem with your secondary list of franchises/interest or whatever that was called. For example, I think Pops are souless junk and I clearly stated I would prefer not to get anything like that. Someone here was gifted a puzzle of their 'franchise/interest' preference, and that's the kind of thing I would have appreciated, and someone gave their assignment a deck of cards last year or the year before, and that's another thing I would have appreciated (and, in fact, bought for myself one day that I hit a store i normally don't and I saw the decks there). They have Star Wars decks and I might have bought a deck for the anon that stated he only now collects Black Series just for the reason to give an extra thing, just like giving snacks. But since so many people give the sense that that kind of thing is unwelcome on this board, I just stopped myself with my assignment. But again if you got a collection of things you didn't like, you weren't sufficiently clear. And someone wasted their money trying to make you happy.
>>11282926I'd say you shouldn't sign up if you're living paycheck to paycheck because that means you can't start shopping the moment you get your assignment. I think it's not so much what you give but making sure you get your gift quickly so the guy gifting you doesn't have to wait on you sending in proof of purchase. I mean sometimes things just happen and you get sudden expenses. Whether you're broke or not, it happens to everyone now these days. Me personally, I put a little money aside for it through the year. Usually just 100 dollars. That's also for shipping too. Having a year to set aside 100 bucks isn't too hard.
Thanks anon! You went above and beyond! I forgot to take a picture before I opened it, but these are superb. Merry Christmas!
>>11284128That pac man looks cool, I wish you could find Bandai in more retail stores. I see them pop up quite a bit at Ross or Burlington's (my Big Lots was one of the ones they closed down), but it's almost all entirely weeb stuff, never anything like these. So we're just waiting on the poor Canadians?
>>11284128Can't help but notice that retroblasting logo snuck into your picture. Kinda like the way the retrospammer likes to make threads and hide that very same logo in the OP picture in a very similar fashion.
>>11281524>>11281178I did thst knowingly in the first time I participated. I'll do my best to remember it in the future too.
>>11284216>>11284264He a troll, he stole my picture from two years ago for some reason, this is really weird.I'm this anon >>11273724>>11273727And I've participated in secret santa for about 5 years now.
>>11284538And here's my proof because I DID take pictures of them before I opened them because I always do.
>>11284541Even took pictures of the Pac Man, so that guy is just being a weirdo and pretending he took part for some reason?
>>11284542It's the retrospammer. Idk why he does it, but he's got some weird fascination with photoshopping them into pics and derailing threads.
>>11284802too much time on their hands+ no real IRL friendships, useful hobbies, fulfilling employment, etc.x low barrier to shit posting = low effort bait
>>11283780>you can't start shopping the moment you get your assignmentI would agree with this sentimentI also had access to some gift card cash and I am fortunate that I didn't need to use them on myself, and I've learned that trying to save them is pointless, I lost some money from one recently that way since they charge 'monthly' service fees once you activate the cards OR start charging them after one year, whether you don't activate, that basically eat up what you received.>put a little money aside for it through the yearI suspect next year if I participate, I will need to remember to do that - starting this month, most likely
>>11283413No actually, they just bought stuff that wasn't remotely related to my list. I gave a very clear list full of toys that I would like in the price range of the event, as I always do. I honestly don't even know how Santa let them through but it's ok because I participate in this event to give and I have too much stuff already. I do appreciate you blaming me for some reason, though, despite knowing nothing of the situation.
>>11287221
>>11287221If that actually happened, forward me the email and I'll see what could have happened because that is something I typically check for when looking at proof of purchase.
Saint Sneed, you end up opening what I got you? Hope you enjoyed it all, wish I could have given more, but being a college student doesn't give me a lot to work with lol
>>11287221>I do appreciate you blaming me for some reason, though, despite knowing nothing of the situation. It's pretty obvious from the way people post pictures and the minimal comment (perfunctory appreciation if you will) they make that some anons don't feel they received what they wanted or, more importantly, expected. But even those posts don't state: "well, I am not sure how I got a Transformer robot when that wasn't on my list but I appreciate the sentiment."In any event, my point wasn't about wish list items, but about the balance of your list where you would state, as I suggested in my post which you clearly didn't read, that someone who states that their sole wish list would be Black Series Star Wars, what else could you get them (besides snacks), unless you really wanted to get them something like three or more Black Series figures? But not many are going to do that, however much that might have been what you wanted or expected. My only assumption, if you want to be sincere, wasn't that you regifted things purchased with you in mind but that you regifted them (so they were obviously not total garbage) because they weren't what you expected or wanted, and thus I stated 'there was a problem' with what your assignment was told were your interests. Now, you're suggesting someone did something like apparently make random purchases, which is vastly different from "I didn't like ... almost everything lol." That "LOL" really gets at your truth, however. And blaming Santaman, however, also sounds about right for someone who would refuse to accept any responsibility.
>>11288338I'm just hoping the guy I got isn't feeling that way, the last 2 years I haven't seen my giftee post what I got him. I at least try and adhere to what they like though.
I know not everyone has posted their gift yet and I encourage anyone that hasn't yet to do so regardless of how you feel about the gift you received but there is only so much I can do in that regard. I'm mainly making this post to say that a few days ago the exchange officially ended as the last person that needed a gift received it. So everyone is done and we had no grinches this year.So my job is done but obviously I'll still be checking the thread until it dies. If you need to email me also let me know in the thread because I won't be checking my email as often anymore. Before the thread dies, if there is anything you want me to consider changing for next year, now is the time to make suggestions.
>>11290437>my anon got his gift, finallyOh!!! Thank you for another successful year, sorry for the yearly trouble.
