>>11281193>2.5" movie figures of the chao mascotsI would buy these.
>>11281424While I'm not overly interested in the Jakks Simpsons line as a whole, I hope they do some fun stuff for Halloween with Treehouse of Horror figures. I'd love a little Kang & Kodos.
>>11281482I'd buy...>"In the Belly of the Boss" Marge>"Master and Cadaver" Marge>"Squirrel Costume" Luann Van Houten
Just finished reading the Scrapnik Island mini and I really hope we get Mecha Sonic MkII someday.
>>11281193>No new heavies announced>No re-release of Big or Chaos>No GemerlWhy bother?
>>11282270>reading post-Archieew
>>11282540>readingew
>>11281193I plan to buy the movie sonic figures since they have so much articulation. Can someone explain why the main figures have less articulation than the movie figures and Jazwares figures? Why recently do figures have to limit articulation when back then they had more?
>>11282775Are the movie figures more expensive? They may have put more effort into them because they're riding off the movie popularity.
>>11282775>>11283077>Why do my baby toys have baby articulation
>>11281193do you think the Sonic prime figures had a bigger budget or quality or something?dont know why I feel they have more going on compared to the normal line
>>11283109More budget to work with, higher profit margins. Just like the movie figures. Since they're 5", they can charge more for them when the production cost as tooling is roughly the same as a 4" figure which they can't charge as much for. That's why there's a lot more completely new sculpts and tooling in all the 5" ($15) figures compared to the 4" ($10) ones
Went to Wal Mart the other day and was shocked to see that they had no Sonic figures left after the holidays. Before Christmas, I went in and they had that huge Sonic 3 display full of figures too, and that was all gone. Literally the only thing left was a Dr. Deep figure from Sonic Prime (lmao)Oh, and the Tornado, which was on clearance, so hit up Wal Mart if you want that $13 cheaper.
>>11283101Yes, because the movies are for adults with sophisticated taste
>>11283125Gee, almost like a huge movie happened or something
>>11283131
>>11283142I know that, smartass, I was just shocked at the popularity of it, I’ve never seen Sonic stuff sell out like this, not even the last movie accomplished this.
>>11283198Butterfry noooo
>>11283568Its true. The Sonic merch has never moved in the volume as it has this last year. It's even outsold all other big name IP such as Marvel, Pokemon and Mario in the toy aisles. I suspect we'll be getting lots and lots more Sonic toys for years to come.
>>11283198>butterfree>was set freeIt was all there...
Is that light up movie super set hard to get? Hadnt been interested in the movie figures enough to go for any until I saw those two. Also cant wait for movie Amy, they made her look really good... Hope the figure does the design justice

>>11284055>>11284057>>11284058>>11284062No Radical Highway pieces?
>>11284055>>11284062>>11284058>>11284057Yeah, these came out months ago with the pre order listing. Everyone agrees this is a pretty sad looking collector release and not worth the price without most the extra parts that the previous figs had.
>>11284071You sound poor
>>11283198….ButterFRY?
>>11284057Jakks can do better. I wanted more accessories such as extra sets of eyes, hands, and mouths for this figure.
>>11284405Especially for $50 fucking dollars. So many other figures in the toy aisle include far more for a fraction of the cost. Movie figures are one inch shorter, the same amount of articulation, and only $15. The slight increase in size plus the bad looking base and wings that'll topple the figure over do not justify another $35.s
>>11283198>ButterfryYou are OBESE.
>>11284055Ow the Knees
post your shadows and slurp. for me, it's white monster™ ultra
where the fuck is movie wave 3
>>11284058>>11284062>>11284057>>11284055$50 and they couldn't even paint his glove/shoe rings gold.
>>11284058Honestly it should've come with all the Doom powers
>>11283109The real question is why did so many of the Sonic Prime figures feel like they were from entirely separate toylines?
>>11286674What would even be in it?If I had to throw one together, I'd do super Shadow without the lights, the angry Tails from the 4 pack and a happier face for Sonic. I don't think anyone really wants more 5 inch human figures unless they make a decent Maria. The dream would be for them to just make Amy and Metal now, but that's not happening.
>>11281193Why is it Jakks stuffed stores full of movie mario figures so bad they had to be clearanced out but sonic can't get that much support even after two proven hit movies, like I saw Tails one week, he vanished, then never again and he's $40 everywhere
>>11287104Already answered here >>11283114
>>11287256Retailers order the quantity, not the toy manufacturer. Mario is the more recognizable character over Sonic in general, but the Sonic toys were objectively better so that likely explains the less shelf space retailers gave to Sonic movie stuff and why Sonic figs sold better. All stores I've seen have been wiped out completely. So I expect many toy aisles full of movie and non-movie Sonic figures for years to come which is good news.
>>11287256The movie figs have been restocked several time bro. And they sell out quick. Furfags keep scooping them up. I was lucky to grab Shadow w1 and Shadow with bike before the aisle shipper was ransacked before the movie even came out. Even the shitty Eggman figure is selling out.
got this and is really fun to play withwill jakks ever do a toy for it? i want to gift it to my nephew
>>11287641The Cyclone? Probably, if the line lasts long enough.
>>11287155>What would even be in it?Apparently these
>>11287641I honestly prefer Dreesejones' Cyclone build. It's closer in scale to the games. Also, missed opportunity on LEGO's part not making it a 3-in-1 with its car and plane modes as alt builds.
>>11287732the lego one got wheels and moves with cannon on the back its really cool
using this as Sonic generalThis glorious gift arrived from Nippon todaysurprised with the quality and size of the figure.
>>11287641It's lego. Lego is always fun. No big deal. With that said, I also use Bowser Jr's Clown car with the 2.5" Jr. >>11288277looks like something id obsess with in my youth. is articulated?
https://x.com/news_merch/status/1876497905974190081
>>11288285WHAT THE FUCK
>>11288283as much as most sofubi figures are. neck, arms, legs and some ankle swivel
>>11288285I can finally throw this away
>>11288285>werehog>SOAPSHOESi'm never gonna find this ins the wild.
They might release the werehog in a single card
>>11288285Badass, he looks too big to fit on a single card
>>11287309I did the same, grabbed shadow and robotnik right away and thought i could sleep on sonic and tails, i still have the four pack, but i'm a completist for all unique sculpts
>>11288308it must be bigger than the other big characters. I;ll be surprised if they do
>>11288329Big was big though
>>11281193What are some good Jakks Sonic figures?I liked sonic 3
>>11288295I think they're different enough that it's worth keeping personally. Maybe you should sell it to me.... I lost mine ages ago
>>11288285All "big" characters made by Jakks are not taller than 115 mm. Same as this Werehog it seems. So he can perfectly fit single card. Also his head is smaller than regular Sonic when it should be bigger. It's Neo Metal Sonic all over again. Head for one scale, body for another.
>>11288285Lol, we got this and metal virus sonic before any Archie characters.Wish neca would get the license. They'd be all about some Archie characters. Though admittedly after Sally, bunny, robotnick, robotaized knuckles and sonic, the line would die hard.
>>11287256>Why is it Jakks stuffed stores full of movie mario figures so bad they had toWalmart kept ordering assortment boxes everytime mario sold out, so they ha e giant piles of peach, catsuit mario, etc.Walmart can't figure out toy ordering. They either buy an assortment with one figure people want and end up eventually with a pile of one figure or do something stupid like order a pallet of Ray and end up pushing it off onto Ollie's or big lots.Theh must have fired half their toy team and rolled it into another team that doesn't care. Perhaps the people who do their kids clothes ordering.
Don't know who needs to hear this but Macy's has the collectors Knuckles for 20, walmart.com has him for 25. Walmart.com has Classic Metal Sonic 4 inch for 10 too if you need something to fill the order out for free shipping. And classic 4 inch knucklesWalmart.com's jakks stuff is organized like shit BTW. They could have shit but who would know
>>11288503How are these? Knuckles is my favorite and I've eyed this one in the past.
Big lots has piles of rays if you missed the 4 inch
>>11288508No idea. Coming Thursday from macys. Gor him a Geoffrey snow globe
>>11288503Target had that Knuckles for about $16 many times from Thanksgiving to Xmas. They still can't sell out. Literally nobody wants the Classic figures and Jakks will never learn
>>11288538What's wrong, anon? You want more classic figures? We at Jakks Corporation (or whatever our full company name) clearly hear you. Prepare for new endless walls of Classic Sonic in your local target/wallmart. Because EVERYONE loves Classic Sonic and him alone. Not even his shitty classic friends lol.
>>11288541SPECIALLY THE SONIC WITH THE RETARDED UNDERBITE
>>11288538>Target had that Knuckles for about $16 many times from Thanksgiving to Xmas. They still can't sell out. Literally nobody wants the Classic figures and Jakks will never learnNo one talks about the sale so why would it sell out? People into the classic line don't haunt these pages, waiting for price drops. People want them. They just don't want to pay $50But that's everything. No one wants to pay $50 for most old characters
>>11288550At least you can cut out hot-dog and replace it with chaos emerald or something.Pic related is most retarded classic sonic figure ever existed. What's I even supposed to do with it? Fill his mouth with my cum?
>>11288631>Pic related
>>1128853816 seems a little hyperbolic. He is 30 right now. What stupid red card bullshit are you wasting on this thing? Why would you take out a target credit card to save another $4 on a knuckles?
>>11288632Ah, good old tripping balls sonic.Shame walmart and taget will not buy a wave if it doesn't have mario or sonic in the box. Hell, they need half the fucking box to be one of the two. Of course mario has the opposite problem recently. Each walmart has like a pallet of nonmario movie figs because kids were just getting the Mario's, even leaving Luigi to rot on the shelves.
>>11288638I never understand appeal of Mario characters designwise. Those are so silly looking including Mario himself. Is there really high demand for Mario action figures?
Figures when?
Sonic is a dragon ball z knockoffProve me wrong
>>11288664Sonic 2 is a piccolo and Gohan rip off. It was confirmed when the dbz creator passed by the concept artist. Sonic 1 is mickey mouse and time bokan robotnik is literally the time skulls all mashed up and mixed with Mario..
>>11288664This
>>11288634No, there were many days where Sonic/Mario/Pokemon toys got an extra percentage knocked off in addition to any coupons or deals they had going.
>>11288684Oh well. I guess all the toys thst had sales at target are failures
>>11288690Right, so a figure that originally retails for $50 and is constantly on clearance, even as low as $16.xx and still can't sell out is a success? So much a success that 6" figure after it isn't even being sold by Target? Sounds about right.
>>11288285NO FUCKING WAY BRO
>>11288692I wouldnt take anything target does as indecative of the market. They do silly shit like order truck loads of this or that toy, put it on the shelf for 2 weeks, then dump it all to Ollies.
>>11288447It's a fragile piece of shit, like ALL of old Jazwares. It was the darkest age of Sonic collecting.
>>11288743C'mon anon don't be like that. The darkest age was 90's with classic mcdonalds toys or 00's with those ugly modern Adventures/Sonic X figures and bendables.Jazwares was the golden age. Very fragile yes but still. The current Jakks is still not kind of there with limited arms arcticulation, constant paint errors and abysmal quality. In the recent years they are impoved I give them that but it's still not enough.
>>11288743>Jazwares is the darkest age of Sonic collectingI grew up in the early 2000s and you'd be extremely lucky to be able to go to any store and find Sonic stuff, let alone anything decent.Want a Sonic plush? Good luck, you have to find it in a claw machine or some specialty shop. Want a Sonic figure? Only at Toys R Us, and it was ugly dogshit like pic related. And this isn't even talking about the fact that the character selection was trash.Jazwares sucked ass at quality control and I maintain that their figures were a nightmare to collect, but at least they actually made stuff fans wanted. I would've killed for a Metal Sonic figure as a kid, and had to wait until I was a teen before one ever got made. The fact that none of the old Sonic toylines ever had Super Sonic is astounding, it took until like 2010 for that to happen.Like it or not though, Jakks is the best toy partner Sonic has ever had. Affordable figures that look good and have tons of variety, even if the articulation is lacking and they're clearly made for kids. The fact Jazwares' 3 inch figures were oftentimes more expensive than Jakks' figures over 15 years ago is ridiculous.
>>11288743Is it? Mine was pretty nice, I messed around with it a lot and it was one of my at the time favorite figures. I guess I just got lucky with it then
>>11288285He's so hot
>>11289021
>>11289021looks like he's got really sturdy joints
>>11289021He's kinda... off to be honest.>The head is clearly smaller than it should be.>Pins in arms which is big no no in the 2k25 year of our lord and savior.>Boot joints. I'm understand why they add them but those are so bad looking.I like the face though. This menacing grin.
>>11288922People that bitch about jakks either were not there or are articulation fags thst are never happy about anything
>>11289039>arm pinsJakks is so cheap. Making them pinless with an overmolded elbow disc would probably only cost them a couple pennies per figure. Its the exact same process and done in the same mold as the shoulders are (which ARE overmolded as usual). Lazy, cheap ass Jakks
>>11288754>Jazwares was the golden age. Very fragile yes but still.Yeah, it was a "gold age" all right, as in "gold plastic syndrome" age We finally get scale-worthy and posable toys, but at the cost of outdated articulation and still fragile. At least with what Resaurus and McDonald's was giving, those were still at least toys of their time.
>>11289021Thats so gay
lol, why do people come into JAKKS threads to bitch about their toys? We're talking like $10 figures in a world where everyone else's shit is $25 to $35. And dont get me started on how much imports are now."wah, wah, why is my $10 toy not as good as something that cost 3x as much!?!"
>>11290212>It's cheap and therefore good so shut uuuuuup!
My Target has not restocked their 4" or 2.5" in months. It's the same Sonics just sitting there every time I go in. IT'S BEEN MONTHS. What the FUCK is happening. It's like they're only ordering movie stuff or something.
>>11288743why does jazwares live rent free in the minds' of jakks collectors they haven't even made a figure in over a decade and you're still bitching?
>>11290307Because it was an age of suffering. I've been wanting good Sonic toys for a long time, but I was just so aware of their poor quality that id try to do anything about it, like buying hobbybase joints and super glue. while Jazwares lost the license, it was Tomy making boring Sonic toys, and World of Nintendo and other companies creating a trend in vidya lines. And it wasn't just Sonic having problems, Jazwares also made those shitty Cartoon Network, Hanna-Barbera and Nickelodeon toys all of which sucked in general
>>11288497>ArchieBro just say SatAM or DiC
>>11290332And now Jazwares are kinoHow the tables have turned
>>11290754Those need some paint
>>11290332you've copy and pasted that dogshit story and retelling of events as well as that exact image multiple times over the course of several months on these threads.will you ever move on
>>11290983i mean if the people making the show end up doing a whole episode just shitting on the merch... maybe something was wrong
>>11290754Oh yeah, nothing more kino than a severe lack of paint and half the joints on the figure being engineered so badly that the joints don't even work. So kino that the Halo lines all ended.
>>11290983subby will never stop regurgitating the same images and talking points until the day he dies
>>11290983>you've copy and pastedshow me an archive where ive done that.
