Is any of the banpresto ichibankuji stuff worth it?
>Zenmarket is asking for $140 to ship out the MMS box set and two other MMS figures What the fuck? Should I cancel and split the packages?
Nevermind. Switching to EMS is closer to what I'm willing to pay for shipping. $70 is still a lot but it's over to what I was expecting
>>11287867Fun ass movie, new articulated figure when?
>>11287884I think they're amazing quality. They're also a lot more affordable to collect than X-Plus. If you're using Zenmarket like this >>11288061 guy, most of the recent releases cost anywhere from $60 to $120. You can store and combine all your items and use an affordable shipping method such as surface shipping. I haven't paid more than $40 for my shipping parcels. It will take a few months, but I'm not a reviewer or somebody who buys them for specific occasions (birthdays/christmas), so I am happy with waiting. The only one I saw that was actually a lot cheaper to buy in America than Japan is the Minus One heat ray version. He's about $120 in the US but around $200 when I look in Japan.
>>11287884Banpresto stuff is good.
Only now realizing how much fun props are.
>>11288607looks great man! good stuff
>>11288607Looks terrible
>>11288607Looks terribly great!
It was a good Christmas this year.
>>11288923forgot my pic
>>11288924You should post some more of that v rex, how does the build/plastic quality feel on those?
>>11288607That's a lot of cum
>>11288940The plastic quality is solid. Not as as soft as the plastic used in the Raptors or used by Hiya in their Godzilla figures, but not as hard as most SHMA figures. Most of the articulation is good as well, I'm impressed by how good the figure can maintain its balance. The tail isnt as good as I'd like it to be, but it's fine. The two compaints I have are Neck articulation and paint chipping. The neck joints dont compensate for the harder plastic so the abilty to pose the neck is more limited than the Carno. The paint chipping isnt as bad as the raptor, but it's still pretty noticable at the points of contact on the neck and waist crunch.Still, it's a solid figure for $85 and I can easily recommend it.
>>11288964Here he is with my Kongs. He's a little too big for the Hiya and SHMA Kongs and a little too small for the Neca Kong
>>11288967
>>11288970The Neca doesnt look too bad if you keep him croaching. Kinda weird Neca never made their own Tyrannosaurus to go with their Kong.
>>11288973And here he is mano y mano with the Hiya KSI Kong
>>11288967>>11288964Solid collection fellow Kong appreciator. One of my biggest toy related regrets is getting rid of my old 2005 kong stuff. Probably going to pick one of the rexes up.
>>11288607Those are from Titanic Creations Yongary, right?>>11288967I really hope we get a 05 Kong figure this year since it's the 20th anniversary.
>>11289042I'm with ya, 2005 is one of my biggest wants but I can't justify paying what he goes through now.. Maybe we can eventually get a '62 and '33 Kong as well.
>>11289032>>11289042I wasn't collecting at the time, because I was a poor undergrad so I missed out on it, I'm always hoping that SHMA reissue it, but so far no luck. I'm hoping that Nanmu releases one since they showed off the 3D model for an articulated Kong last year, but they look like they're prioritizing Jurassic Park figures.
>>11289053>Maybe we can eventually get a '62 and '33 Kong as well.Would love both of those, I'd even be up for 76 Kong too, the suit in that movie was really good for the time.
>>1128905362 probably won't happen because Universal despise that and the king kong escape suits with fury and anger due to have goofy and by extent poorly designed they look in both of their films. YSMF had to rebrand itself as Raymond for both of their releases because they didn't want either Toho or Universal to come knocking at his door. Speaking which, that is one of the reasons why I don't see Bandai reissuing the MMS 62 Godzilla anytime soon aside its 50th memorial box release.
>>11289070>Speaking which, that is one of the reasons why I don't see Bandai reissuing the MMS 62 Godzilla anytime soon aside its 50th memorial box release.Only way they can release him realistically is probably through P-Bandai and have him listed simply as Godzilla 1962 both on the listing and on the obvious box since they don't do tags. Reason being is with tagged figures, they have the listing on what film they appeared in (Unless your Bagan) and they probably cannot print King Kong vs Godzilla since they don't have the rights to the name King Kong anymore.
So it's come to my attention that this obscured clear red MMS Final Wars Gigan has resurfaced for the first time in like 15-17 years as it was sold not too long ago on Mandrake for 90,000 yen as well as other obscure figures like the DVD Godzilla figures and the magazine winner clear green Godzilla 2000. Only problem is I'm not sure when any were sold nor where the origins of this red Gigan came from, but after today I can tell it was an actual figure made by Bandai and not a bootleg due to the fact there's now a picture showing the underside of the tail and confirming the copyright initials.
>>11289105Fuck forgot the image. But yeah I had a hunch this figure was lost to time and was probably a fake until today.
>>11289108And here's the underside
>>11289105>>11289108>>11289111Really cool find. I'm a sucker for those transparent solid color figures
>>11289129Here's the Godzilla 2000 one which think had think 20 made which was think given out to runner ups with the 5 winners getting Orga.
>>11289042Yeah. The Yongary came with a shitton of extra stuff, especially compared to the Gorgo figure.
>>11289191>>11289111>>11289108>>11289105Thanks for sharing these! Do you have a link to the listing? Any Orga pics?
>>11289070>>11289082Oh well, a man can dream.
Wonder when they're gonna reveal Showa Ghidorah.
>>11289247All were already sold. Also Mandrake was the site they were on. But like I said earlier, I have no idea when they were sold, but can tell it was no less than a month ago.
Should I buy the Hiya 2014 Godzilla now or just wait for the heat ray version?
>>11289409idk nigga which one do you want? Next one might possibly maybe have improved head paint apps.
>>11288924>>11288964>>11288967>>11288970>>11288973>>11288977>>11289055Where is the V-Rex from? Is it an official figure or is it the custom from that guy on Instagram?
>>11289435>Where is the V-Rex from? It's the Nanmu>Is it an official figureNo it's third party like all of Nanmu's Jurassic park figures. > is it the custom from that guy on Instagram? No, it's not a custom. It's an unlicensed third-party figure like a lot of Transformer figures. I got mine from Lanatimehttps://lanatime-shop.com/collections/nanmu-studio/products/nanmusmart03but you can also get it on 5ktoys or if you're really desperate Big Bad, but I would strongly advise against that, because they still haven't even fulfilled preorders for the Velociraptor that shipped half a year ago.
>>11289105>like the DVD Godzilla figuresother than pic related, are there any other exclusive figures that came with a dvd? i managed to find one without the dvd for ¥5500. the standard release seems to be more expensive atm.
>>11289447Yes. Back in 2004 or 2005, Toho released an entire set of all the Godzilla films that had came out around that point. With it, some (think sub 100 units) came with a figure with it which was Godzilla 1984 (Was the only other way to get that aside the memorial box back then and was the most sought after.), Godzilla 1954, Showa Gigan, and Spacegodzilla. The figures themselves had a black and silver paint job with Gigan and Spacegodzilla retaining the red and gold parts which is what the standards had back then. All of those are very hard to come by and tend to fetch for quite a sum of cash with the only one I've seen outside japan sites like Mandrake was on Ebay for the 1984 figure (which btw has been listed on that account for almost a decade now and never been sold off.) Here's a picture of Gigan from the Mandrake seller mentioned earlier (It's long since been sold too btw.)
>>11289457This be the 1954 figure.
>>11289461Spacegodzilla
>>11289463And finally 1984 Godzilla
>>11289465Here's the tag for those who were curious.
>>11289304Ah I found them. This has brought to my attention several others I've never seen before. This is kind of mind blowing as a Movie Monster Series collector. I knew of some very rare exclusives, but there are quite a few I've never seen before.Someone should make a zine documenting all the MMS figures.
>>11289247Here's the Orga. I can only find two images of it since again, only 5 or 10 were ever made and very likely less than 5 remain today since lost in time or forgotten in storage etc. I did hear one was at a G-fest a few years ago with the seller marking it for 3000 plus dollars.
>>11289469Yeah they're pretty obscured even to collectors even in Japan. I might even make a MMS iceberg in terms of all the exclusive over the years. Whats more crazy is more is slowly getting discovered such as the two prize winner burning Godzillas which is implied only one of each was ever made(one being green, the other being yellowish white. Both also sold on Mandrake for I think was 100,000 yen each.)
>>11289461Maybe it's the angle, but his pose/stance looks really good here.
>>11289474Anyway here's the green one
>>11289471Thank you for the pic and description! Neat!>>11289474That's wild! I wonder if there is some private collector out there with almost every Movie Monster Series figure.I found this just now, again didn't know it existed.>てれびくん 懸賞品 ゴジラ ミレゴジ ソフビ クリヤーレッド / ゴジラ2000>てれびくん12月号の懸賞当選品クリヤーレッドカラーのゴジラ2000です。
>>11289479And the Yellow one
Someone made a tier list based on the rarity of the exclusive that goes as current as 2020. Not sure how accurate it is, but it seems pretty close.
>>11289482Yeah it was some contest on some tv network in Japan which if I remember right was a questionnaire and lottery on Godzilla facts be it monsters, actors, plot of movies, or where each scene in a particular movie takes place in real world japan. Eventually it would be rounded up and then announced I think the end of the month who said winner was. This lasted until one day, one of the prize concept figures was stolen and eventually made bootlegs out of it. That being an orange MMS Godzilla 1992 as pic related here shows (Fun fact, I have this figure myself and only ever seen like 2-3 images online and almost never on places like Ebay.)
>>11289471I would kill a man for this
>>11289497Oh my god. 20 years ago i lived on a military base in japan and at the bx mall on base i would pass by this little stand that sold model kits and gozilla vinyls and i would always stare at the very top of his booth that had a bright orange heisei godzilla on it. i think about that thing pretty frequently and i always wondered what that figure actually was specifically. Did this contest and figure leak happen in or before 2005?
>>11289493Interesting chart.Wasn't that Gorosaurus just a prototype which was shown early to show us what it would look like?>>11289497That's pretty neat! That sucks the original was stolen in the first place though.I think the only stupid rare Godzilla Funko 'Mystery Mini'-ish figure. I got it off ebay and haven't seen one posted since. I'll post a pic of mine if I can a pic of it somewhere on my computer (becauase I'm too lazy to dig it out).
>>11289525>I think the only stupid rare Godzilla Funko 'Mystery Mini'-ish figure.I meant to say the only stupid rare Godzilla figure I have is this Funko 'Mystery Mini'-ish figure. I need sleep. I have been going down the exclusive Movie Monster Series rabbit hole. I'm sure tracking down just the Shin Godzilla variant figures is a journey on its own.
Make 2 of your Godzillas open mouth kiss each other.
first ever panic purchase, thankfully these aren't expensive, but i am still bummed i missed out on zilla 2004 but the 98 looks of higher quality and effort
>>11289522Perhaps? I think it lasted until 2006-2008. I just know that the orange Godzilla bootleg was supposedly the last figure ever made for the tv contest as Bandai I assume got very mad that the concept mold was stolen, lost faith in said studio, and shut the whole thing down and has since never returned (That and the internet was getting more and more popular by that point.) Reason why I even mention this because this bootleg has a very faint and scrubbed off trademarks on both feet as if the Bootleg maker tried to get rid of the Copyright albeit very poorly. Also you remember if the figure you saw look like this and was MMS 6 inch or an bigger 8 inch one akin to the Godzilla Collection series?>>11289525Think Gorosaurus was on that list was because someone got hold of the prototype of the figure aka another stolen asset, only difference was Bandai manage to get the figure out before it got stolen.
>>11289497>>11289522I should also note that's speculation based on many websites that I've read be it wikizilla, tohokingdom etc. But another theory at least for me is that this orange Godzilla mold may of been stolen as early as 1999. I say since considering I have two similar figures of Godzilla 1992, one being from 2006 with a pink tag in the twilight of the first MMS run, and then another from the Godzilla Island line which started the six inch line. Reason I mention this because this bootleg is around the same height as the Godzilla Island version rather than the MMS version (Which the Godzilla Island/TKS line of figures were slightly smaller than the eventual MMS re-releases.) My theory was this orange Godzilla was going to probably be originally set to be a prize winner sometime before or after the Green Godzilla 2k and Orga contest, got stolen, and then got memory holed by the TV Studio and Bandai like a swept under the rug situation.
>>11289978Its pretty hard to remember how big it was since it was 20 years ago and the display was about 8 feet off the ground, i just remember it was definitely similar ito my other vinyls i had at home and i had 6 inches and 8 inches, so it's kind of a tossup.
>>11290095It could've been it. Only other orange Godzilla at least for Bandai that was out around 20 years ago was the memorial box meltdown orange Godzilla and I think the Godzilla vs Megaguirus theater exclusive.
What's the best way to tighten joints? My Monsterarts Shin Godzilla has some loose sections of his tail.
>>11290592Krazy glue or loctite
>>11290592I've always liked the nail polish on the ball joint ball technique
>>11287867>the year is 2025>to this day the best New York ('98) Godzilla figure is the Ultimate Trendmasters' Twenty six years undisputed champ. Still have mine.
>>11291179Whoever gets to him first between SHMA and Hiya wins my eternal unpaid shill loyalty
Have any of you bought any of Titanics Pulgasaris? The "classic" coloring looks pretty good to me.
>>11291529I ordered the classic. Considering I wasn't going to buy all three, figured going with the most film-accurate version was the best choice.Gonna post it with my Yongary stomping on it.
>>11291491Bonus points if they do Jr and Cyber Godzilla
>>11291179He looks so happy!
