Really impractical. The greebies on the pieces hurt your fingers when you try to separate them.

What is a greeble? Ive tried to figure it out via context but im dumb.

These little mechanical details that the pieces are covered with. I think Robotix was the toyline that made me feel like I'd outgrown toys when I was kid, because I was so disappointed with it.

Stop having pansy-ass pussy bitch fingers and this isn't an issue

am I the only one that was let down by the robotix toys being construction sets instead of actual characters? the starriors atleast had that much going for them

Yes and no. I only had like the first 10 minutes of the pilot on a vhs tape. Everything about robotix was kind of a mystery to me.

It is kind of annoying the toys did not look like characters however.

You know, the guy that made the box art must think kids are stupid fucks. The paintings on the front of the boxes are great and really look like the toys, while the cartoon art is pretty bland even compared to transformers or gobots and yet kids want the toys to look like the cartoon or comic.

That's what I was getting at really. Say what you will about all the TF-cash ins but most of them really stuck the landing designwise. Argus being this monsterous dinosaur-headed robot? I was sold as soon as he appeared in the episode. But the toy itself barely shares a passing resemblance to the animation model. The bipedal form was a seperate build but even then it still looks way off.

tragic. the box art really does its job too. just a shame the final product doesnt do argus justice.

thats a 1 to 1 painting of the toy though

yeah it sells you on the toy but the toy doesnt hold a candle to cartoon argus

Yes and no

The cartoon designs are pretty bad in hindsight. The plot is just really interesting, conceptually. The dialog isn't even that great. It's just the idea that two races have cheated death by putting their brains into machines that control the robotix is pretty wild. And humans got to pilot them. It would be like diaclone was released in the US unchanged.

That's the 80s though. Lots of crazy wild ideas, so so execution. Late 90s cartoons sucked when they made the shift to school cartoons. Animation got better but the ideas were pretty bland

I disagree completely
There's already 8 billion shitty transformers knock-offs, a building toy based around walking space-vehicles is much more interesting than another shitty robot dinosaur action figure

I'm just surprised the toys were technically being sold and supported up until 2019.

Ah, thank you!
