He wasn't originally going to be involved with it all but came in after and got much more involved than he was expecting. So regardless the general idea of turning Goku small again was probably something that had to stay. In hindsight the wish should've been to remove the ability to use ki rather than turn them small. Now they can't transform, use blasts or fly. Gives a better reason to use ships and goons shooting lasers end up being more threatening.

This sort of segues into something else on my mind which is the overall design aesthetics of the entire line. Some figures dont actually fit in with everything else. Some that stand out to me are Cooler and Nappa. They look amazing but they are is also somewhat of an artistic interpretation going on. I think I actually 100% prefer a few of the Dragon Stars, a select few of them manage to hit that same aesthetic sweet spot as SROE faces. I see way more people mixing DS into their collections on Facebook

I respect your opinion, but I don't think I've read so many statements I've disagreed with in one paragraph before. For me it's the complete opposite, I've collected the line since 1.0 piccolo and always been a fan of the body sculpts/proportions, but the faces ("human" ones in particular) have ALWAYS looked bad to me until recently. SROE was one of the worst offenders in my opinion. It looks very soft and generic and nothing like goku at all to me.The 3P faces and updated SHF like LSS, SDCC goku and Namek Vegeta look incredible. The namek vegeta matches well with Nappa and the LSS Goku looks great with the Ginyu Force and Frieza forms.I will admit some of these new faces are bigger, and that irks me a bit next to other characters, but the sculpt and details are a massive improvement from sroe and others like saiyan saga tien and scouter vegeta.Each to their own I guess.
