the handful of MAFEX releases are probably your best choice in terms of articulation. in terms of sculpts however DCD's Showcase Superman is my favorite. It's weird how many big name heroes lack figures based off their most iconic depictions, and what few they do are usually either rare or restricted in terms of POA. Pic related is the only Curt Swan inspired Superman figure ever made. They also released a Composite Superman in the same series down the line.

If the S shield was bigger it'd be perfect

These two are my personal favorites. That Mezco had all the right accessories.

This one is also pretty good if you don't mind the anime style.

people love to rag on DCUC, but whenever Mattel put in that extra bit of effort the figures really shined. all they were missing were legends styled hips, necks, and ankles and they would have aged like wine. I know its a little off topic but all the figures with dedicated parts and sculpts from the line really aged the best. Cyborg, Steppenwolf, Cyclotron, Etrigan, the super powers parademon, metamorpho, etc still stand out as some really great toys.

I honestly suspect a cast of that showcase head would look perfect on the mafex TDKR supes body. same with any of the old DCD ed mcguinness heads really, but there doesnt seem to be a big market for alternate superman heads like there are for spiderman or batman.
