I made this today after getting the U-wing. Apologies I'm an amateur builder with not a large collection. The gate is a heavily modified rebrickable double gate alt build. I added the parapet looking part on top and removed the brown mountain pieces. Didn't see a moc thread up so thought it was appropriate to post here. My only disappointment with the U-wing is Dedra's greyish legs / coat where they should be white. Hope you guys can sort out the shitposting issue the Lego threads were relatively civilized last time I was here.

Don’t forget to get it on Black Friday for your Ro Laren DLC shuttlecraft.
I’m not poor but I refuse to buy stupidly expensive plastic building bricks. I give myself a strict $100 limit on sets. But I’ll buy multiple if they’re good enough. Why do you think it won’t suck? If you’re just going to put it on a shelf why not get a nice actual scale model and action figures for a quarter of the price?

>>
>>11556908
A teaser like this one shows to me that Lego knows how powerful the iconography of a minifigure is, and how much a general audience would recognize it. With both of those factors in mind - I do really wish that we just get a set of a minifig-scale bridge at some point. It would probably be a lot smaller can cheaper than a whole Enterprise, you could get all of the figures, and it would be a lot more playable.

But, that's all me just talking to a wall... At least we should get full, high quality photos in the next few days. And see what that Shuttle looks like.
>>
>>11556903
I wonder why they used Klingon text to tease a set that ja supposed to be the Enterprise. Yes, Klingon is a part of the franchise, but it's one of many, many, many things and it's really not something that is very iconic of the franchise. If they had teased the very first Star Wars set with Aura Besh for instance then that might make sense, but this is a heck of a lot more "random." It's sort of on the level of if they'd teased the Willy Wonka set with a stick of gum - sure, there's gum in the story and it's not unimportant, but it's also one of a thousand things that might be technically connected to the story.
>>
>>11556903
They use the franchise logo instead of next generation so this to me means they consider making a full theme, perhaps as Icons subtheme like LotR but still.

I really hope they do it like this:
>big Trek ships like ToS Enterprise, Borg cube (but as playset please, that can work), Bird of Prey and perhaps Deep Space 9
>midi scale ships like pic related but there's a catch, each one has an exclusive minifig
>a cmf series
>some dioramas like a transporter room or decks
>>
>>11556968
>P'takh
You Soiwars fags will never cease to amaze me.
>if they’d have included glubb shitto
I’ve seen StarWars like a hundred times and Aura Besh has never once been on the radar.
Ask anyone who an antagonist is in star trek and I promise Klingons is in the top five… because you know they aren’t constantly fighting “the empire”.
>>
>>11556981

>>11556984
Or the romulan empire, or the dominion empire, or the cardassian empire, or the borg collective, or the Xindi, or the Kaizon, or even the ferengi space joos that they are.

It has been well-known for a while that LEGO will bring an Enterprise-D for Black Friday.

It will be the usual heavily over-priced mediocre-quality crap that LEGO has been releasing as licensed sets recently, but it will be there.

It’s too bad that Paramount pull the Star Trek license from Bluebrixx as they had really good quality models and the creators there were actual fans.

But LEGO fanboys will rave about this product and make it a success, no matter how bad it actually is.

I finally got to watching the latest season of Dragons Rising and surprised Lego never made a minifigure of this guy, he was a pretty major player.
He wouldn't even to make, no new moulds and only one print, he can use a generic City face print.
But this is Lego, they still haven't made a minifigure of the witch, Mr Frohicky or Geo, and I if a feeling if a Lee minifigure was made, it'd be paywalled behind yet another expansion for Ninjago city.
Yet more gatekeeping of characters people want behind a several hundred dollar paywall. Yay.

when is that Supergirl movie coming out? next Summer? or earlier?

you think they'd do a generic Supergirl set (not from the movie) just to get a small movie-tie-in without committing to it?

also lmao at the DC Fandome 2020 exclusive Supergirl in a carded package worth thousands of dollars to collectors, Lego gave here a double-sided head print. Like anybody will open it up to see lol

Ironically, licensed sets are the few that are spared from DEI. Hard to make Han Solo black. But then again, most of the new stormtroopers are brown females. Oh and they managed to make Irene Adler in the Sherlock Holmes booknook a frizzy-haired black woman in Victorian England. It's so comical how whites hate themselves.

I'm glad they chose a regular head with no bald "hairpiece" (heh) it makes him look more "Lego"
similar to Geordi having his visor printed on the head and not part of a new hair piece (which might have looked more accurate, but less "Lego")

I am worried about the printing on the black torsos not matching the arms though. it's $400 they better not cheap-out on thin ink. but as Data would say, the odds of that are 650,320 to 1 that Lego will use thin ink and the torsos won't match the arms on any of those
>>
>>11556908

Lego would rather sell ONE $400 set

the other sets will be Brickheads and like a Tricorder or Phaser or something without any minigfigs.

I really wish lego would release a series of somewhat generic nature scenery sets. It'd be cool to have things like that, which you could place vehicles/buildings/minifigs/whatever and make full scenes, the way MOC builders do. You could have ocean/shoreline sets for things like pirate builds, forest, rocky outcropping, desert for a star wars tatooine scene, etc. It's just annoying trying to do these completely on your own, needing to figure out all the exact pieces you would need and try to do an efficient bricklink order

True, its the lego Zelda strategy. Rather than a full lineup, just do a single 300 dollar set. That way all the minifig autists are forceforced to buy that set for their link/Zelda figs. If those figs were available in 20 dollar sets instead, they wouldn't bother with the $300 one

Imagine being the child of an Afool, Christmas comes around and you're really excited to decorate the tree. Then one day your fag dad comes home with this thing and says "this will be our tree from now on, isn't it cool?". You build it in a couple of hours and it's tiny as shit. Dad won't even let you play with it because "you will decrease its resale value". And then you put it back in the box until next year when Lego release a $500 Christmas Tree.

Star TREK doesn't have the same "action figure exclusive" nonsense that Star WARS does.

Lego could make a simple $20 set with all the color torsos. one set for each style of uniform, to represent each show. maybe different sets with uniforms for the enemies. Klingons, Romulans, Borg, etc.

buy the minifigs, make your own sets. make your own crew
Lego wouldn't need to make "planet [blank] from episode [blank]" the simple figure sets would sell like crazy.

Trek fans are more likely to enjoy a toy that is full of the core values of the show it would be based on: exploration & engineering, creativity. Lego should be proud to support a show with matching values of a hopeful future where everyone has elevated morals. it's the ultimate "woke" before that was even a term

you're not wrong to point out that historically, Trek action figures don't sell at all. But I think Lego could be the exception, and I'd like to see them try. ultimately, it wouldn't be that big of a deal for them to experiment with it.

They are Xingbao bricks. Judging by the sets I have, there is nothing to complain about. But if you want Lego bricks, there are free pdf instructions with part lists on the website. So you could go and order your bricks elsewhere and just save yourself the design work. There are no other types of terrain in the shop. There is a western theme, but no separate landscapes.

I want trek to do well too but it’s never going to compete with the Star Wars level of autism and despite several animated shows now Star Trek doesn’t hit with kids as well because it’s more of a thinker.
If they’d have done both 25 years ago Trek might have a chance but we all know they’re going to fuck it up. The $400 enterprise solidifies it. You’re never going to get to build your own crew or ships or have a fleet or romulan a or borg or Klingons in any number to be fun.
Just accept it’ll suck and you’ll be disappointed by literally anything they put out and you MIGHT get surprised by a $20-60 set that only half sucks… but it’ll be based on Discovery and black and trans.
>>

I’d wager a majority of the soiwars sets are based off of Disney fan fiction and that clone wars animated series now or video games. If you want something from the original trilogy you’re going to pay for a $1000 disk or $500 for a big brown turd Jabba’s sail barge with indentured servant leia. Even your precious onion wars is a far cry from the original.

You absolute fucking retard.

I wholly remember what I wanted to play with as a kid and it sure wasn't some faggot ass toy Christmas decoration. As much as I loved Christmas as a kid I would not have looked twice at some tiny ass boring shit tree, as an adult I sure as fuck would not spend $300 on this shit when I could invest a bit more and buy a videogame console instead.

If it was meant to be kid-friendly, they would do something interesting with the theme like a mech-santa that battles krampus or some shit and mark it for $100 at most. You really think kids will be excited about a display piece with faggot ass elves? The cutesy "oh it will look great in our living room!" is very obvious AFOL bait.

It's a TOY. When I wanted some Lego or other brick toy as a kid it was stuff that could be played with like a castle or a pirate ship. and it would cost less than half of this thing. Lego purposely designed this to be 3k pieces to change an insane price for it and every adult out there will lose their shit and buy it. But I assure you, no kid will ask for this for Christmas. Hell no parents will go "hmmm let's get this shit for Timmy as a Christmas present" when it costs fucking $300,at that price point you're more than likely getting them a videogame console instead or some cheaper Lego Nu-Wars set.

Okay I did some digging to find the origin of this black uniform, but it's less obvious. If any other Anons know their war history, please correct me.

The best match among British uniforms is just a black police uniform. The Baron doesn't seem like one to serve the community, but I could see him with the RIC during the Irish war of independence.

The next closest match I could find were German WWII uniforms. Now he is known to speak German, but WWII seems a little late for Adventurers, and would make the other uniform an heirloom. It is possible as an intentional parallel with Indiana Jones though.

put Mihawk next to Barbosa and it's even more frustrating. Barbosa looks perfect and Mihawk looks like he's from 15 years ago

I think it was "clever" of Lego to remove religious cross from minifig torso (which is mostly harmless but they still probably wanted to avoid it for "internal decisions") but I think the tiny knife should have been printed on a clear 1x1 flat round tile, to make it look as small as possible. clipping it in the hand might eventually scratch off the paint, but you could have them hold it flat and it would still look alright.

hilarious to think that Lego will make a better version later, and that one will be in a $900 set. hey, at least you got this one for only $330

(or reverse-hilarious if they put the better version in a Mihawk & Boat Polybag for only $5??!! and you wanted him so bad you bought the $330 set hahahahaha)

on the one hand, Lego already has the hat/hair piece, it seems like crazy easy to re-color that in super-bright yellow, and print different torsos. Lego could get more money's-worth out of those molds

But on the other hand, they already did Luffy, and a bright yellow hat might confuse poor little kids (sarcasm) eeeehhhhh,,, it's good enough. (more sarcasm)

a long time ago I tried to watch the One Piece anime, and it was awful. that's what I remembered about it. the main guy's English dub voice was grating in the worst way. I had to stop watching after only a couple episodes.

years later Netflix decides to make a live action version. how can this be so popular? I couldn't even watch the anime. meh, let's give this a shot.

Yes.
The Netflix version is great.
maybe the anime would have gotten better if I would have stuck with it? it's got a thousand episodes or something, I don't know. other people must have liked it enough to get a thousand episodes out of it.

but at least the Netflix version is good, and worthy of getting Lego sets. although I do understand how people who have watched all thousand anime episodes are upset the sets are based on the simple and new 8-episode Netflix version. truly an ouch.
>>
>>11560687
Don't watch the dub, early episodes especially they were made by 4kids and took a lot of liberties.

One Piece becomes amazing by around the water 7 arc (250-300 ep.) and then it's just ramps up and you basically watch the next 200 episodes in like a week because you can't stop.

It's a huge investment but it's totally worth it.

Also, why do Mexicans like anime and moby? I know one of you will know.

japanese put high emphasis to have good sounding voice actors while english ones are the cheapest they can get. still lots of anime retards hate dubs for no reason besides not being japanese even when the dub is ok.

Did anyone realize how all signs and letters on recent LEGO sets are in print, not in cursive?
God this chocolate factory wouldve looked more authentic if the signs are in some fancy cursive letters
Why ate they all in prints?

kids can't read cursive anymore, they barely teach it in school, only enough so kids can do a signature for documents, then that's all they know

I heard they do math in a crazy new way, too

I agree, the cursive letters would be more accurate to an old-time shoppe, it even says 1928 on the sign, people back then knew how to do fancy letters. see? it's not just AI that ruins details, real people can do it, too!

I just recently got back into LEGO.
Back in my childhood I was fond of the vikings, the pirates and the early Harry Potter sets. Bionicles too.

I've begun collecting the recent 2024 sets of HP to put all the castle bits together. Went to the Butterbeer Stand free build last week which was pretty cool. Although I have to say it is sort of annoying to figure out which sets go with what, since a lot of the sets from like 2020 and up look like they can fit in too (but apparently between 2020 and 2024 there have been 3 different castle combinations? Idk.)

I also think the recent christmas stuff has been cool, so I picked up some of those. Also got this cool pumpkin truck for Halloween. Something about it just has me totally in love with it. Really creative.

I also have been into the Disney sets where they've been making the castles and stuff into micro models, like Agrabah or the Haunted Mansion. The TRON Lightcycle set was cool as hell too.

Anyway, LEGO is cool and I'm glad to be back in it. Gotta keep my collection and themes to a minimum, though. Cheers lads.

Looks nice. I’ve always loved the Rebel troopers. Is that the newest U-Wing set? I thought it seemed too small when I saw the first pictures of it but it looks good here.
